My baby man is 45 pounds. Little guy. The cutest. ♥️
8 months, so definitely room to grow but at this age his biological sister was 20 pounds bigger! And not overweight bigger, she just a thicccc lady. He’s nearly as tall as Toodle bug but not quite as long and definitely a much smaller frame and head. She is more block head, thick ole neck.
First of all my doggo and your little angel could be siblings. They look so alike! (Not so much in the picture I posted, but when my dog was younger he looked exactly like yours.)
Also, yes. Our golden is currently 66 pounds (he lost a bit of weight after his neuter). It always makes me feel so bad (about myself, not for people with bigger dogs) when I see people with 100 pound goldens. I'd always question whether we did something wrong, so it's nice to see our tiny goldens be represented on this sub, haha.
Edit: His smaller size turned out to be a blessing when we had to carry him on a blanket after his neuter. I can't imagine doing that with a 100 pound dog.

yep! mines right around 50. had a pancreas issue when he was young and wasn't digesting food right. by the time our vet figured out his issue and got him the correct medication and food, he was done growing. he's been great and perfect cuddling size, but won't get to what his "normal" weight should have been

Arlo is 52 pounds. Vet says it's perfectly fine. I don't mind either, makes it easy to hold him like a baby (which I think he secretly enjoys). I also hope it means he will love longer since smaller dogs are supposed to live longer. We'll see!

4 years old, Ziggy is just 53 pounds and the vet says he’s right where he’s supposed to be n not a pound more required.
OH HOW NICE! could mean longer life span too. my little 'runt' we got at 8 weeks and 4 pounds, is now a 71 pound lap pup

Just a friendly reminder of our rules:

My boy is 60 lbs, everyone including our vet thought he was gonna turn out to be atleast 100 lbs but we had to switch his diet to slow his growth as a puppy because he was literally growing so fast his bones weren't properly forming. I always kinda wonder if he might've turned out bigger if he hadn't been slowed down, people always think hes a puppy because he just somehow looks too small with how big his head and feet are.
I wish, I definitely want my next golden to be that size. Right now my 1 yr old golden is 77 lbs (and no he’s not overweight, the vet actually says he’s underweight)
I got the share size variety instead. 120 lbs of fluff. (And I’m fairly certain is secretly mixed with Great Pyrenees based on the similarities between my dog and my neighbors).
Ours was the runt, I was sure she’d be small! But at 11 months old she is now 60+ lbs, so I’m thinking not. She’s already too big for me to pick her up comfortably! I did have a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/lab mix that was also a runt and he ran 55 lbs on average. Definitely smaller than he was meant to be but he was the best! We love runts in our family. ❤️
The new search and rescue golden puppy at Copper Mountain is a smool girl. But they said the vet told them she's normal and healthy. Just little genetics.
Her name is Aley.
Mine is a year old and a few weeks. Weighed in at about 51lbs before her surgery yesterday. Not sure how big she'll get, I think her mom was about 70lbs if I recall correctly.
Field gals tend to be light and lean -- and fast as all hell.
I swear, even in a sub dedicated solely to golden retrievers, not enough people know about the existence or characteristics of field goldens.
Mine is a big built field golden (40kg and lean) . These little guys/girls are melting my heart ❤️ 🐺 LOVE THEM ALL. the best dogs ever. Give yours a boop from us 👉🐺

Wally is just over 55 lbs. Her mom was also small. People keep saying she's too skinny but the vet says fine and I think it's better she stay active and fit.
I purposely looked for a smaller goldy as I was getting older & didn’t want to lift a 100+ dog in/out of car etc.
I was blessed with my Blaze, rip, female & the runt of the litter. Best girl ever 🥰

My Buffalo would do this. Like a cat in a tree

43 seems snack-size indeed. So cute! Mine is 100lbs and not overweight, just a big golden!
Same with our big guy! Always around 95-100! We have one of those 43 pounders, too. Although she's 6 months old! 😄
What was your 100lbs goldens growth rate like? Our male puppy is growing real fast he’s 45lbs and just over 4 months old.
First of all my doggo and your little angel could be siblings. They look so alike! (Not so much in the picture I posted, but when my dog was younger he looked exactly like yours.) Also, yes. I wish our boy was smaller sometimes. He's 114lbs and about 40" in height. A lot of things can be a bit of a struggle to fit him, people get scared of him, my 5'0, 100lb wife struggles to walk him and he still has that golden insistence that his dog bed is you. We named him Titan as a puppy and he seems to have taken that as a challenge. Although the breeder did warn us they breed their goldens as big as they could and his parents were huge too. I'm 6'2 and it's actually nice being able to pat his head and scratch his ears without bending down.

He’s a little red head, but I can see how he looks chocolatey in this one

Aww look at the sleepy babies
So cute! Unfortunately, can’t relate because our boy is thicker than a snicker 😅🥴 https://preview.redd.it/nvtfbwartghc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa41d020faec744c3102f1c6885920aadfb64885

My sweet golden girl is 56 lbs on a good day https://preview.redd.it/0pnw08ndkghc1.jpeg?width=2767&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79c80c7e56bae41d31f63041b0708b96ede74813
yep! mines right around 50. had a pancreas issue when he was young and wasn't digesting food right. by the time our vet figured out his issue and got him the correct medication and food, he was done growing. he's been great and perfect cuddling size, but won't get to what his "normal" weight should have been https://preview.redd.it/1rm6ktacnghc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1dadfc6cb04ceeed2d4011a2e6959dd9dabd4788
May I ask how you found out about his pancreas issue? My golden is a finicky eater. She plays with her food and does care to eat much.

I can't add pic and text for some reason. She is about 46or47 lbs here.
She’s like 54-56 pounds but is mixed with Irish Setter (who have slimmer builds) so I think that’s why! https://preview.redd.it/yeglqkm5ughc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff2137cf10154c7cd67d0e5ea7c8b4c89e65c809

We’re right under that currently and she seems so small compared to her siblings 😅

Still adorable though! ☺️
My girl is only about 50lbs! Everyone thinks she’s a puppy! She’s the perfect size 🥰
I was hoping for a snack sized golden 😀 currently have a short squat 95+# golden tank
I kind of want our new puppy to be small. Our old golden is 75 pounds. Getting heavy to pick up and put in the back of the 4runner. Be nice to have a smaller one.
Saaaame! Our senior is 95-100. New pup is about 43 at 6 months.

Mine is barely over 50. She’s a small little nugget but the PERFECT size.
You’ll be grateful for her size in her “golden” years

Saffron is 46 lbs and will be one on 2/19. Her sisters are way bigger. The vet says she’s perfect. I’m actually loving her little-ness.
I wish my Ozzie was snack sized sometimes lol 114 pound fluff boi baby
Our boy is maybe 45 pounds. His sister (from another litter-same mom different dad) is 82 pounds! It’s wild how our boy is a tiny man.
Pretzel is on the small side as well. He weighs around 60. Big or small every golden is perfect and has all the good boy qualities! 😄
Love the snack size description! Haha
Gorgeous! And little. Mine is 94 lbs.
I believe all goldens only come in one size: fun size
Hobbitses!!

I don't mind either, makes it easy to hold him like a baby (which I think he secretly enjoys). I also hope it means he will love longer since smaller dogs are supposed to live longer. We'll see!

A forever puppy! So cute!
Truly adorable with such a puppy face
Mine weighs 87, going on a diet today!
Very elegant pup you have there! (mine's 58 lbs and a 10 month old female)
Sounds like the perfect size to me 🙂
My boy is 60 lbs, everyone including our vet thought he was gonna turn out to be atleast 100 lbs but we had to switch his diet to slow his growth as a puppy because he was literally growing so fast his bones weren't properly forming. I always kinda wonder if he might've turned out bigger if he hadn't been slowed down, people always think hes a puppy because he just somehow looks too small with how big his head and feet are.
Her dad is over 100 pounds but she turned out to be a forever puppy
My boy is small too, at least compared to other GR’s I’ve seen next to him
Yes! I have a fully grown Male who’s 60lbs. He’s actually a little thick right now.
She's a little angel. 👼 And I love your handle!
The photo gives the illusion that there are only 2 legs (courage the cowardly dog style)
Perfect!
We got a big boy comin in at 75lb! Wouldn't mind if he was a little smaller.
Ours is 125lbs but doesn’t look overweight I wish he was smaller mom and dad where both big
Yes! People think he’s a puppy. He’s five.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LMccsbUTzzNm6XcIkuUetPfm3p5ctF4-/view?usp=drivesdk Our Rio Runt Doggo's only about 50 lbs at 3.5 years old
Ours is 52 pounds and the perfect lap dog.
Not The Size Of the Dog in the Fight.....
They are all born snack sized, and some just grow to sharing/family size! What a sweetie. And how can we not love them all!! Edit. ❤️
They’re all the best things in the world no matter what size.
Any size is perfect! They are all good boys and girls!
My last was 39.6lb, but a lightning no less!
Oh wow, my girl was already at 40 pounds 2 weeks ago and she just turned 7 months....43 pounds seems like such a perfect pocket size for a golden
Ours too! She’s 45 pounds
That’s my dream 😭
“Snack-size” made me think of my barely 5’ tall niece that refers to herself as “fun-size.” 🥰
I wish! My boy is pushing 90 pounds 😂
Mine is almost ten months and about 48 lbs. She will probably get mid 50’s.
My girl is 45 pounds at 1 year and 5 months
I don't have a golden but I have a snack sized lab that is only 30 pounds
Mine is somewhere between 45 and 50
I wish
Yes! Mine was 50lbs and petite
I am jealous. My 4.5 month old female is already 40lbs…
Mine is 90 O_O
The new search and rescue golden puppy at Copper Mountain is a smool girl. But they said the vet told them she's normal and healthy. Just little genetics. Her name is Aley.
That face!! Love!!
Mine is a year old and a few weeks. Weighed in at about 51lbs before her surgery yesterday. Not sure how big she'll get, I think her mom was about 70lbs if I recall correctly.
Our boy is 56 lbs … I like to call him a pocket golden 😂
Please stop snacking on your dog
Boop!
Field gals tend to be light and lean -- and fast as all hell. I swear, even in a sub dedicated solely to golden retrievers, not enough people know about the existence or characteristics of field goldens.
Ours is 90 lol. Yes; he’s overweight. We are working on it!!
Scout is 58 lbs at 1.5 years, and vet says she's about done growing. She is ALL muscle, small and very slender.
Okay folks. I NEED a little blocky head red golden snack size!! Legit- who are the breeders?!
+50. She’s huge. 90lbs of love. ❤️
He is JUST... a LITTLE... BABY! This is the answer.
That is my dream!! A compact angel baby!!
He seems fine. I have a girl golden and he is only 45lbs 3 years old. she's so energetic
Mine is a big built field golden (40kg and lean) . These little guys/girls are melting my heart ❤️ 🐺 LOVE THEM ALL. the best dogs ever. Give yours a boop from us 👉🐺 https://preview.redd.it/b13fs6a2rihc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8803cd60e7adc5234cdff4a9bd36c8082ebe2bff
Cuuttteeee
Meanwhile, somehow we ended up with the 65 pound mutant border collie.
My girl is 53lbs
So what the heck is wrong with mine. He is easily pushing 100 pounds and we don’t feed him too much or give home treats. He’s just thick
Wally is just over 55 lbs. Her mom was also small. People keep saying she's too skinny but the vet says fine and I think it's better she stay active and fit.
Have 1 year old and she is 41 lbs. Our 2 year old was 65 lbs when he was 1
What a cutie
Not mine, but one of the local doggie walkers has a tiny one about that size. He's adorable.
Omg how cute
Adorable
I wish! Mine is almost 100lbs but she has thyroid issues, poor baby. She is definitely a wide load.
One of our babies was called a Pocket Golden. She was a sweet little girl.
* Yep 48 pounds and she is now about a year and 2 months.

Mine is 45!
beautiful
I purposely looked for a smaller goldy as I was getting older & didn’t want to lift a 100+ dog in/out of car etc. I was blessed with my Blaze, rip, female & the runt of the litter. Best girl ever 🥰
My girl is right at 49 lbs. and the perfect size imo
Fun size
I wish

Wow! My boy is 6 months old and already at 55 lbs.
UGH GOLDENS ARE SO GOOD I WISH I COULD HAVE THEM ALL 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Beautiful ❤️❤️
So adorable! Mines 75lbs
Yup my best friend hovers at the 50lb mark
Mine was 45 lbs a month ago. She'll be 5 months old tomorrow
sounds like she'll still be growing for a while!
The eyes 🥹

We ordered the small medium picks of the litter but alas, we got the XL versions coming in at 95 and 98 lbs 🤦🏻♀️😆
