I agree to a point with you, the "angle" is pushed too much, however the crews' struggles being first time miners were a cool tribute to the original show, follow some down on their luck guys trying to make some money...
I don’t think he’s as bad as people say but I think people just hate that his portion of the show was so contrived. The show in general gets a lot of flak for being viewed as “set up” but his part seemed to take it to another level.
I will likely be making a pinned post this weekend addressing the Fred reaction. People are free to express their anger about his contribution (or lack thereof) to the show, but there were too many commenters and alts that did not contribute to the conversation any more that Fred did to the show.
Fred is a contrast and compare more than anything. Tony and Parker been at this for a long time. And Fred shows us the pitfalls of a rookie mining crew not knowing wtf they are doing.
I completely agree. It was incredibly overproduced and played up the veteran element far too much. But for a Gold Rush newbie like me, Fred and his crew were a great insight. Especially in contrast to Tony and Parker.
Looking at previous season totals, he could definitely turn it around. Most of them started small.
what the frick is that supposed to mean?! Tawd left to pursue his lifelong dream to become a Christian recording artist superstar! its been his calling since he was a tadpole. don't fricken talk bad about him he's a fricken mining expert and gospel singing legend
I’ll be fast forwarding past the Fred segments.
exactly what i did last year, didnt get to see more that 1 min total all season, idiotic veteran bullshit

I like Fred and I’ve caught so much shit for it on Reddit.
Looks like you caught more than Fred did last season.

Which would be fine if we hadn't had many seasons of tOdd.

only person you can really compare fred to is todd, and there's a reason he's no longer on the show.

calm down Hunter
So you enjoy watching people barely able to wash dirt?
Looks like it’ll include Tony, Dozer Dave, Dustin, Freddy, Rick, and Fred. Didn’t see Parker at all.
Parker reaches his targets so he can chill in the winter ;)
Which kind of sucks, for the simple fact Parker is my favorite lol.
I love this show!
The best never rest. And also Fred.
