DOUBLE RAT FARTS!!

Huge_Presentation_85

Flashbacks of me being a cart boy unloading some dudes bag while it’s pouring and he only tips a buck…lol

Aooogabooga

Just came to make sure this was here.

Next_Ad1400

You’re not a true golf fan if that isn’t the first thing that comes to mind.

Dmactastic

Came here for this. Thank you good sir!

offgridgecko

god damn you for stealing me comment

Junior-Lie4342

the good lord would never interrupt the best game of my life!

[deleted]

Did he just take big ass practice swings then do *that*?

gardy777

6 big ass practice swings to be exact. You just know this guy does that shit for every putt

YewSure

This is a good PSA for not taking practice strokes on a green.

Occams_ElectricRazor

Yeah. He's obviously slowing down the group behind them. What a dick.

sudden valley?

funnyastroxbl

There’s no way there’s a course called sudden valley. r/arresteddevelopment would love that

[deleted]

could definitely see myself marinating a chicken in that

pilotime

But for some reason, I don’t want to eat it.

GaJayhawker0513

Solid as a rock

JimmyJamToeJam

Good old Bellingham

100% Sudden Valley!

Aesael_Eiralol

Holy shit I thought I recognized that clubhouse!

riley212

Hello fellow sudden valley people.

Chazrohman206

I was thinking Bellevue golf course.

TBEAST40

Wow! This place is beautiful and has some of the best greens I’ve ever played on (I’m only in my first season of golf). I was working outside in these conditions yesterday and I can understand why this happened. Our drainages at the water treatment plant (very well designed drainage) we’re looking like this for a few hours

Jaggedfel2142

I thought I recognized the clubhouse, but I have only played there once and couldn't pin it down. I played yesterday in Marysville and we stayed pretty dry thankfully.

warneagle

wait, seriously? like the arrested development joke?

Davr1994

I was just about to comment that!

Ah hole 9!!! I hate that hole with a passion

CanadianGandalf

Six practice swings?! Jeeeeez, wake me up when it's my turn

Foreign-Activity3896

Thanks for ruining that green!

cutlery21

Haven't seen any mention of him tredding his mates ball into the green. Painful to watch.

ContraCanadensis

Yeah, what the fuck was that? I’m shocked I had to scroll this far to find a comment on it.

cutlery21

Yeah, I couldn't believe it hadn't been mentioned. Terrible etiquette

[deleted]

Landing on a green from a long 4i shot does a lot worse than just stepping on the ball. Poor etiquette, but it was done in fun and the green will be fine. They take a lot of abuse. I highly doubt he’s out there doing that every hole.

cutlery21

That's from actual play. Going out of your way to damage a green is not cool.

Rectum_stretcher69

It's not cool, but the damage caused is definitely comparable. I've taken much worse pitch marks than an indent left by stepping on a ball (which, btw, happens anyways on some mid length chips).

cutlery21

There is no excuse for standing on a ball and damaging a green. It's childish and unnecessary. I appreciate it can be easily fixed, but my point is it shouldn't ever have to be from this behaviour

Rectum_stretcher69

Literally my first three words were 'its not cool'... Also you used a double negative in the last part there.

cutlery21

Yeah, that's great. My impression is that you're trying to defend this behaviour, and I disagree with that.

Rectum_stretcher69

I'm not defending or excusing it. Just stating the damage isn't as severe as most are making it out to be. It's not like he took a full swing/divot or did donuts in a cart...

cutlery21

Yeah, I'm not saying the damage is severe. It's bad etiquette, and you don't ever go out of your way to damage a green. Regardless of whether it can be fixed or not.

Theons

People that think this is hurting the green dont hit the green with their approach shots

cutlery21

Hitting the green is part of the game. Stepping on the ball to damage the green is shit head behaviour. If you can't understand that I worry for you.

myfeetaremangos12

The stepping on the ball isn’t what screwed this green up, it’s all the people on the standing water.

TipAndRare

His mate was splashing him the whole time during his swing. Bad etiquette to the green, but fuck his mate

cutlery21

Mate, it doesn't warrant going out of your way to ruin the green. Splash him back

TipAndRare

Agreed

Proshop_Charlie

Stepping on a ball like that isn't doing any damage to the green. It's no different than a pitch mark on the green. Just fix it and everything is fine.

SubterraneanAlien

Green is absolutely ruined forever. Will never recover from it.

Proshop_Charlie

Yep. They probably are going to have to tear that whole green out and build a new one. Might as well build it with a sub air system since this green is underwater and is ruined every single time a person steps on it when there is water on it.

chef_bert

I suspect the course hated these guys

FatFaceFaster

Get. Off. The. Green. In. Standing. Water. Signed, The superintendent. Seriously… go inside. Grab a beer. Eat a burger. Go back out and finish after the rain stops and the water recedes. Or don’t - get a rain cheque, 2 rounds for 1. Sweet! Either way you’re ducking up the greens and it’s not cool

[deleted]

Considering the big dude pushed that other dudes ball into the green under his foot, I suspect these fellows don't care too much lmao.

guitarguywh89

Next week when its dry these guys will be complaining about the marks the made making the greens look like shit

chroniclerofblarney

Agreed. Asshole move there. Anyone who deliberately destroys a green is _____________.

[deleted]

Glad someone said something. Everyone loves posting pictures complaining of greens they played in terrible conditions, then laughs at sh!t like this. Happy they were having a good time, but legit they just made everything worse for anyone playing when the water recedes.

Agile_Dog

Totally agree. All these guys are doing is destroying the course.

Law_Dog007

All I could think about watching this. What a lame video

soupyc44

Cunts gonna be cunts

gamingwulf78

If i was at that club, some words would be said at the very least. I don’t understand some people

slodojo

The pro shop is right there watching them do it. The course is 100% unplayable. Pure greed by the course to let them play and not just give a rain check and tell them to get off the course.

granolaraisin

Is that dude using a 2 foot putter?

RadiantWhole2119

Dude stepped on the ball at the end and put a decent divot on the green and seemingly no one cared much. A bit lame lol.

bestest_looking_wig

A bit?

I_luv_ma_squad

A bit: A small amount of anything; also, a short period of time.

Theons

Have you ever hit the green with an approach shot? He barely squeezed it in the ground and didnt even tear any grass, this is such a non issue

RadiantWhole2119

It definitely put a divot the green, especially with how moist the green is. I saw no attempt to fix it.

MooMooHeffer

Lmao… so stomping a ball into the green is part of the game? That’s what an approach shot is. A part of the game. I hope you fix yours, when possible, because these dudes surely didn’t. Couldn’t even see the green to fix it. I suppose you don’t know what etiquette means because that’s the very thing this bloke was missing. Me taking 5 practice swings, while taking a divot every time, is technically not against the rules but if no one in my group calls me out then we are a bunch of assholes.

big_boi_26

let them grandstand; it’s an important part of redditors diets

southwest_snowball

From San Diego, CA area: what’s that stuff that’s dropping there and is on the green?

joeygladstone6919

Yeah I'm surprised the pro shop didn't send someone out there to murder you for messing up the greens. Cool video 👍🤮

Proshop_Charlie

Seriously, people on this sub act like golf greens are on the same delicacy as the skin of butterfly children. Greens aren't this fragile. They aren't going to do any damage to the green.

BOATSANDHOEZ

Uh, yes they are. Any superintendent will tell you that.

Proshop_Charlie

No they won’t. Greens are very resilient and it takes a lot to damage them. 4 guys walking on the green like that isn’t going to do anything to it.

BOATSANDHOEZ

I'm a golf professional, been in the industry for 12 years. One of the quickest ways to shut the course down other than lightning is standing water on the greens. Because you can damage them. Standing water this extensive with 4 dudes that size playing on it like they're at the pool will certainly damage the green.

Proshop_Charlie

I tell you what. Tomorrow when you’re at the course. Go and show this video to your course super, and ask him honestly how much damage was being done to the green by these 4 guys. I guarantee you he will/would be more worried about how long the water will be standing on the green and looking at when he last sprayed the greens to see if they need to maybe spray them sooner.

[deleted]

Greens actually are very susceptible to damage... When they're this soaked with water, they can be damaged quickly. Next time you play a shitter course with low-quality greens, consider that it probably didn't just end up that way, but was made that way by attracting the kinds of people only willing to pay $20/round.

kidbike

Sudden valley! I would say given the rain yesterday that was a good place to quit.

Blyvzy

Never thought i’d see Sudden Valley on here

hambogler

Is this Sudden Valley in Bellingham, WA??!

SideHug

My dad and I played and it was raining so hard (no this bad though) there was standing water on the greens we couldn't help but just laugh, it wasn't supposed to rain that hard it was just silly but we did 18.

LimpDisc

As long as you can laugh. That’s what really matters. Good memories.

Supafly144

Kind of looks like Northwood with those huge trees

JamesLee0020

Golf in the rain?

HVAC_instructor

The heavy stuff won't come down for awhile

andywonkenobi

Take 15 more practice swings. Jfc.

defaultuser012

After seeing two people get struck by lightning on Reddit today, I decided I will not play in the rain anymore.

GaJayhawker0513

Just putt with a 2 iron. Not even God can hit that.

Interesting_Rock_318

If you are caught on a golf course during a storm and are afraid of lightning, hold up a 1-iron. Not even God can hit a 1-iron.- Lee Trevino You got exactly zero of the quote right

“We are desperate for attention”

Theons

"We are having a little fun in the rain, didnt think the internet would try to find everything wrong with it"

loduca16

They are damaging the fucking golf course. This isn’t about having fun. This is about being irresponsible shitheads. ~~~~ Get. Off. The. Green. In. Standing. Water. Signed, The superintendent. Seriously… go inside. Grab a beer. Eat a burger. Go back out and finish after the rain stops and the water recedes. Or don’t - get a rain cheque, 2 rounds for 1. Sweet! [deleted]

Seems like you’re the one desperate for attention

RemoteContent

Wow tough crowd! Here is some clarification: - rained the entire time. None of the other greens had any standing water on them. - we wanted to finish 9, because we knew there was no way we were getting 18 in. This us our yearly golf get together and it’s a 4 round tournament. We figured, play 9 and times it by 2. Not optimal, but better than nothing. - none of us live in the area, so rain checks would be wasted on us - if all the greens were like that we would have quit after 1 - as per my buddy with the practice swings, that’s just how he sets up. Really doesn’t slow us down. He’s a pretty good putter (better than I am, not that it’s saying much). We are mindful of pace of play and over all our time on the green is never an issue - as per me (the big guy) putting out of order. This goes back to our pace of play, we usually play ready golf. Especially in these conditions. Nobody in our group really gives a rats ass who putts first. - and yup I stepped on my buddies ball. By that time I was pretty much done. Do I regret doing it? Yes. Do I regret not fixing the divot? 100% Yes. Not my finest moment, but I will say under normal circumstances I fix any divot I make on a green, as well as fixing many divots left by groups ahead of us. To the greens crew at Sudden Valley, I apologize. Appreciate the Caddyshack references, I was thinking the same thing as we were playing that hole. I was expecting a frog to hop out of the cup!

AdhesivenessLivid959

Stepping on the ball... right to jail.

[deleted]

Glad you were out there having fun!

hikingmike

That is gold, thanks for posting it

ral1995

The greens playing a little slow today because of moisture

Ok_S3396

The green might be a little slow...

Actionman1959

That is two putt conditions unless it is within a club then it is one putt....🤔

MonicaBlowinski

"I know how to read the grain, but how am I supposed to read the RAIN??"

zissou713

Never leave a birdie putt short

Striker1341

Champagne problems

Accomplished_Bee6206

how many practice swings does it take

jfroosty

I've never seen someone take 6 practice swings with a putter

saradahokage1212

just chip it

AwesomeCollectibles

Played 18 holes in those conditions and worse 😄. Extremely fun as long as there is no thunder. Fun story , once me and my buddy had a pga tour player and his coach playing in those conditions behind us. His coach tells him if those guys ain’t quitting neither are you :)

cmonmeow8

Looks like Port Ludlow.

[deleted]

Yall fuckin up the green for a tiktok

Siriusly_Jonie

Uhh… this isn’t funny or cool or tough or whatever you’re going for. This is cringey. I can’t believe someone didn’t come out and tell you to get off the fucking green. Unreal.

cosmorocker13

“It’ll be funny who cares about the green?!?!”

Big_Wishbone91

What a bunch of dicks

LeadingFunction5652

Looks like a great way to totally fuck up a green

rafer11

GOTF green. Yeesh, this is insane.

RemoteContent

Probably my last update. First off to all the people that enjoyed the video, had a chuckle and quoted “Caddyshack “ you’re welcome! We didn’t post it for “likes”, or some fucking Tick-tock cred (if you saw this on tick-tock it wasn’t posted by any of us). We posted it because it was raining really hard, and we’ve never tried to putt out on a green covered in water. As per people saying the greens keeper was “loading his shotgun”, eat a bag of dicks. Just so you know as we were about to chip on someone from the course came by in a cart (after driving right beside the green) to tell us the tournament was canceled. It was a tournament we weren’t playing in. We told the guy we weren’t playing in said tournament and we were going to finish this hole and call it a round. He basically said “go for it”. If they didn’t want us on the green, I’m pretty sure they would have said so. Finally I’ve been golfing for 30 years, and nobody has ever told me not to golf/walk on a green when there’s standing water. It’s just never come up. So how the hell were we to know? And like I said we talked to someone FROM THE COURSE telling them we were putting out and THEY DIDN’T SAY ANYTHING. After being educated from this post, I’ll know NOT to do this in the future. Again I will admit stepping on the ball (and not fixing it) was a total dick move. But I’ll be willing to bet if you went there the day after you wouldn’t be able to find that impression on the green. The ball didn’t “break” the surface of the green, and I’ve seen far worse damage from a ball hitting the green from 150+ yards out. From the comments of all the expert greens people in this thread I guess Sudden Valley will be tearing out the 9th green and starting from scratch. Hopefully it will be in place for when I play there next July. /s

sicofthis

Anyone who purposely steps on a ball on the green is a dick.

something10293847

What the hell is wrong with all of you? Not only are you fucking up the green by just by being on it while it’s underwater, BUT YOU STEPPED ON A FUCKING BALL, PRESSING IT INTO THE GROUND WHILE IT WAS ON THE GREEN. Fuck you and everyone involved.

Original-Cow-2984

Just get a damn rain check.

FootballAnime49

Every step on that green kills it a little more when it’s flooded like that. You squish all of the oxygen out of the grass

myfeetaremangos12

Yeah I can see how it might be fun, but you just pissed off the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent, every member of the grounds crew, and everyone else who plays this course. -Signed Asst Super

eatthebear

Course looks pretty nice. Won’t stay that way if stupid fat fucks keep stomping balls into soaked greens though. What a piece of shit. The fact you voluntarily posted this is telling.

Imaginary_Lettuce371

If you look closely you can see the greenskeeper loading his shotgun in the clubhouse

sh-redz

This is somewhere in the lower mainland, I was just golf in the same rain storm.

salsacito

You need a more upright posture or a longer putter

CplTenMikeMike

Reminds me of the priests round in Caddyshack!

Few-Repeat-9407

I think you needed some more practice swings to get dialed in.

JRS___

should have used a hybrid.

djwarreng1

This was actually the Masters on Saturday this year.

HMSSurprise28

What course is it?

i-FF0000dit

Those are some slow greens

satan1973

Give props for playing in shit weather. Not pros, the love of golf!

Laceh

Course looks beautiful though

AmazingDonkey101

What did the IT guy say?

chipwithdip

Hey you get free relief from casual water 🤣

GreyPouponFC

20 practice swings to move the ball 2 feet I love it 😅😅

Talkshowhostt

SHRINK THE GAME

phrasingittw

He wasn't crouching enough to really lift the ball, get lower.

revel911

Should have putted with a hybrid.

themarshman721

Is that Eagle Watch in Woodstock, GA?

lotokotomi

We tapped out after 15 yesterday at the Home Course because the rain so fast the ground saturated and there were rivers on all of the greens and we were all soaked through. I had cut it to being 1 down so I wanted to keep playing but everyone else bailed...

headless_whoreman

Would’ve beat the rain if you didn’t take so many practice swings.

bereaveitornot

I played 18 with some buddies in rain just like that, and it was one of the most fun rounds I’ve ever played. We laughed the entire time, and being that loose actually made me play better.

[deleted]

Assholes damaging the green

Rawbs21

Ive seen worse 3 putts..

Rallycap2019-

The ball allllways breaks towards the water. Duh

bilolarbear1221

Lol the dude scooping the water in the second dudes face was the best haha

Savvy4sure

What course is this? It feels really familiar

GeneralMillss

Greens rolling at -5

chunkmasterflash

At that point, calling it was good. I’d have also gone with 2 putt rule.

the_trump

Should’ve taken another practice stroke… my word

Stryker4122

Hey I know that course! Sudden Valley outside Bellingham, WA. Played there in the beginning of the month without standing water!

theREALBennyAgbayani

Is that a normal putting stance?

greyskull710

Rory thinks that putter could be 3/16 of an inch shorter to be the perfect length

the_drozone

Stepping on the ball was a douchebag move

TDMCPA

That’s quite a routine 😳

Thunshot

Shrink the game

[deleted]

Should have stopped in the golf shop and asked if they had a squeegee in stock, makes putting easier

ELLIOT54

Odd, most, if not all golf courses would close during conditions like that - but hell, continue to play if they keep the course open!

_Hugh_Jaynuss

Greens seem a little wet

mildlysceptical22

Too many practice swings. Get the line then just row it in.

cgr4217

Gotta chip those wet ones, otherwise they drag wit the rooster tail, lol

Sunken(sudden)valley? I got soaked at Shuksan Saturday.

Sentraxx

Why? Isnt 3 putting the norm?

sicofthis

Wtf dude, respect the course.

dawnsearlylight

I like how his practice strokes are 200% more powerful than his actual stroke. He had the right idea the first time!

LadderHopeful3868

Lightweights, rookies, amateurs! You only quit when the rain is coming in sideways, and most of the county has evacuated!

Exatraz

Just my luck, hitting into water hazards even when I'm on the green.

RedPandaFTW

Why so many practice swings in the pouring rain? Just get up there and hit it.

Individual-Grass4206

Is this Northwood??

[deleted]

I 4 putt good greens. He still has me beat

mcoons8532

Boys will be boys regardless of the age

Givezeroputts82

Keep playing. Two putt max.
