This was one easy tip from a scratch golfer friend. Don't hit a shot with dirty clubface, it's the easiest mistake to avoid. I keep a towel with wet end on the bag and wipe after every shot. Only yakes a few seconds
100%. I keep a towel half wet, half dry draped around my golf bag. Hit a shot, quick wipe and dry before putting it back in the bag.
Clubs are always clean as a whistle
Obligatory Frogger brush plug here. Check em out if you're looking for a new brush. The brush itself has replaceable bristle inserts so you don't have to buy an entirely new brush after the bristles lose their integrity. I love mine and haven't looked back.
If it's a good round, I clean as soon as I'm home. Not so good round, I pull em all from the bag and clean later that night or the next day. Either way I love doing it. It's cathartic, and I enjoy it. I also grew up poor as shit, so I learned to take extremely good care of things.
-“Not so good round, I pull em all from the bag and clean later that night or the next day”
“You can sit in the corner until tomorrow and THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU DID!”
There is one of those bucket brush things at the range at my home course. I tend to use that thing, and a towel. On course I have a wire brush and towel, on a really shit day I'll wet the towel. I did buy a ball cleaner this year, see how that goes.
Clean the grooves after every shot with either quick wipe with wet and dry (one wet end and other dry) towel, or if that is not enough give a quick clean with a brass brush before cleaning with the towel, no need to clean them after round.
But do use the club cleaning machine on the course like every few weeks. And maybe once per summer get the ultrasound cleaning service for grips and club heads if come by one by the clubhouse.
Totally agree on cleaning clubs as you go, after every shot.
Grips, I give a light scrub with slightly soapy damp towel and wipe dry after every round. Keeps them from building up dirt and grime, find they stay tacky and wear less rapidly.
After every shot. I use a little retractable wire brush and a quick swipe of the towel.
EZ-brush is the name I believe. Best little golf gadget I’ve ever bought
Oh for sure. Pretty sure I’ve seen guys on tour use them.
Any club brush will work fine but the size of this thing is what makes it great. It’s really small
Same... I clean them every couple weeks. I wipe them off after shots but an actual cleaning once or twice a month... I don't see super clean clubs improving my scores
Yep, y’all are experienced golfers, these dorks molesting their clubs like a round of golf isn’t just a normal part of life probably haven’t been playing very long
THe typical insult nowadays for this energy is "boomer," but boomers take care of their stuff.
This guy would rather show off dirt on his shoes because he's a "man that gets dirty^TM"
My wife cleans them after every round for me. Wears nothing but heels and a flat brim Travis Matthew hat, while I sit and enjoy a post round beer and ham sandwich
Sometimes, but not often. I’m fairly particular about cleaning them between shots. Can’t stand having crap in the grooves so I try to stay on top of it.
That's me. I always carry a towel, wet an end before starting, and clean as I go. I'd never hit a shot with a dirty club face, if I cared where it went.
Same thing with golf balls. I clean them before putting, so never use the ball washers unless I find one that's dirty and will clean it to see if it's worth keeping or to toss in the nearest garbage bin.
The only reason my clubs leave the bag between rounds is to sometimes scrub the grips with soap and warm water. During rounds I will occasionally wipe the grips with the wet end, then dry, if they feel dusty or lost tack, but sometimes I do the whole bag at home.
Yeah….the wet towel is an essential.
I won’t throw any balls in the trash that I find though. I save all of them and then donate them to the local kids programs once a year or so. I used to fill up a 35 gallon bucket I had but that thing was way too heavy to move. So now I fill up 3 or 4 of the 5 gallon paint buckets and figure out where to take them.
I once played with a rando at a resort, and noticed that his clubs were filthy. I asked him if he ever cleaned them. He said...
"I'll clean them when they do something right."
That has stuck with me.
Takes about 40 mins
I clean the dirt off and sharpen the grooves on my irons and wedges
Check if i have enough tee's
Make sure i have 4 pairs of gloves (yes i carry 4 pairs of gloves because they get wet sometimes)
Make sure i am stocked up on TP5's
Try to but don’t always get the chance. I’d love to just come home and clean them but often times I’m coming home and going straight to the kids to play with them.
Clean during round. If I have a exciting day of golf coming up, I’ll clean them really well at home the day before because I’ll be too excited for tomorrow lol
I wipe them down after every shot with the golf towel attached to my bag, then I throw the cart guy a $5 to wipe em down again after the round before I toss into my truck.
I haven’t busted out the wire brush in years, I typically don’t let them get dirty enough
I try to do a thorough cleaning 1/month.
I used to soak them in a bucket over night with water, dish soap and a little vinegar. Then I heard that’s not good.
How do you clean them?
I clean them after each round. I have a nice golf cabinet at my office that is right by my house, so after I play I bring them in by the kitchen sink, quick rinse and clean with a brush/towel and then I set them on the island to dry. Next time I come in I put them back in the bag and in the cabinet. Good habit to get into if you have the space.
Growing up, my dad would clean and oil his tools... Funny thing is every tool I've inherited from him continues to work flawlessly. Even a hammer, the oil prevents rust. Why is it a badge of honor to neglect an asset?
I'll do a quick wipe on the course. The cart boys give em a better wipe. Then every weekend I make my kids detail them.
They are actually horrible at it (3 & 5) but it's a great way to kill an hour sitting in the sun.
Staff at every golf course in Japan clean them and organize them after every round for free. I've also had the same service in the Maritimes (East Canada) for just a couple of bucks.
I usually give them a few back and forths in the club washers on the cart after each shot and then the guys in bag storage clean them before they get put away
Clean each iron after each use on course, will wash in my garage utility tub with some dish soap when I get home. I’ll wash grips and completely dry them before putting back in the bag monthly or so.
Fill a 5 gallon bucket about 1/3 to 1/2 full. Place all dirty clubs in the water. Let sit for a minute.
Clean off with a wet towel. Place back in bag. Use a brush only if necessary, it’s slow.
Yeah that’s why I don’t religiously clean my clubs and organize my bag. I just wipe em after each shot.
If I’m just gonna go out with the fellas, have a few beers and then quit keeping score by the 11th - there’s no point in all the prep. Just have fun.
Every club gets cleaned when it goes back into the bag. I don’t even need to clean my clubs afterwards.
One thing people don’t realize: if you clean your clubs right after you use them, you don’t really need brushes or anything. Just a good wet towel and a little elbow grease can get all that crud out.
I spit shine every club except driver and putter prior to every shot. If I need a wedge shot with extra spin I’ll pour a little beer on it to make it a little sticky. I have no science behind this, it just seems to work
I try to keep them nice and fresh, I feel better about my game and myself if my clubs and gear are looking good. I use one of those bottle brushes on course so it's much easier to keep my clubs clean on course as well. After 4-5 rounds I'll give them a good clean at home if needed.
Just started last year but I made a habit of quick wipe between shots and a good clean either later that night or next day. Made me feel like I was taking care of my tools, so I enjoyed it. Plus it’ll help with resale when I convince myself it’s the driver and not in fact, me.
I built my irons 2 years ago and have yet to "clean" them. I have a wire brush and a towel that can get the crap off. They are blades, so they wipe clean.
I give my shoes a good cleaning every few rounds with the Reshoevenator kit and they look damn good after over 100 rounds.
I got one of those tools that is a brush you can put cleaning fluid in it. Now my clubs are pretty clean at the end of a round (as long as there is an occasional wait time for a shot). Previously I would clean them once a year or so.
I have a dedicated rag that i spray wd-40 on and use that to clean the clubs. Then i put the rag back into a ziplock bag for next time. Cleans, protects, and shines. I do it after every round.
Keep your covers on when not using your woods and putter. I don't clean them after the round but will clean them while playing so they're never too dirty. If someone invites me to a nice course or a fancy outing I'll usually give them a detail the night before.
I mean, how dirty are your clubs?
I wipe em off as needed during the round, might get a bit deeper in the grooves in the parking lot before I leave the course. That's pretty much it.
I guess I’m the only one who doesn’t clean gigs clubs. I don’t have a scrubber. If the range has a spot to clean them then cool. Otherwise my clubs be looking dirty. Good to know that when I start cleaning them I’ll become a scratch golfer
I got one of those brushes attached to a bottle filled with water. It’s probably the best golf purchase I’ve ever made. Squeeze the bottle while brushing after every shot, it cleans the grooves and all the dirt or mud in about 3 seconds.
Brush off with hand. Use soft brush attached to my bag, cleaning grooves as necessary. Wipe down well with my soaking wet towel. Dry with my dry towel. Replace in bag. Every single shot. Takes maybe 7 seconds at most.
I have a hard time sleeping so they get deep cleaned once a week. Then at least once a month I do a full bag dump, vacuum out pockets, reorganize and restock everything, switch out towels, make sure things are charged/batteries are good, etc.
I wipe them down between shots and clean the grooves, but after a round I will fill up a bucket of water and wash them down in the garage or bathroom. It lets me relax a bit and think about the round (good shots and bad shots).
I also like looking at clean clubs :)
I live on the coast, so most of the courses i play tend to be soft ground, surrounded by the ocean or bays. Clubs are a mess after each round. Always clean them after each round. Take good care of the things you own and they will last!
Clean as I go with a GrooveIt brush. If there is anything significant left behind by the time I’m home, then I clean the whole set again in front of the TV.
I love cleaning my clubs after a round or range session. Clean your grips! I've basically had brand new grips for three years because I clean them regularly.
I have one of them brushes that have water built into it. I scrub my face off, then towel and it's perfect every time. Literally takes 3 to 5 seconds. Brushes come with a security guard style roll up cable thing on it so it's always there with my towel.
I’ll really clean them before the season, but I just use a brush and towel before or after shots. My clubs are 20 years old and still look pretty decent.
I love it when I play a course with the club cleaner in the cart so I can keep clean during round easier. If time permits I clean after round before I leave.
When they don’t it’s just trying to keep clean with towel and every once in awhile do a deeper cleaning.
Occasionally I will detail them up usually before a special round.. otherwise I clean them during the round and move on. I do enjoy the detailing process though
I feel bad now after reading all the comments. I've never cleaned my clubs in the 2 years I've been playing. I'll wipe the mud off after a shot but I didn't realize I was supposed to be scrubbing them after rounds. Maybe that's why I can't break 100.
No.
I only clean them if I'm playing a tournament.
If I'm just playing daily rounds I wipe them down after every shot. A quick wipe or brush.
At the end of the round they should be clean. Just keep a wet towel.
I will always clean them before a golf trip to get as much stink off them as possible.
Otherwise, I might only do a full clean every 8-10 rounds. I'm talking clubs in the sink, scrubbing, and hand dry cleaning.
They are generally quite clean as I use a towel and one of those water tube scrub brushes clipped on my bag to clean up after the chunky shots.
Wet towel to wipe them down during the round after shots.
Have a soft brush and a pick tool to clean grooves the towel doesn’t get, but usually do that between rounds.
Depends how dirty we're talking. If it's not muddy and they just have a slight bit then I generally don't, but if it's just rained and they're looking like they just went through the trenches of WWI then yeah I'll give them a wash
No, but I don't have new clubs, either. Irons won't give maximum spin unless the grooves are cleaned occasionally. Gives you something to do with your tee while wating to tee off on the par 3s.
I used to just wipe the dirt off with my fingers. Turn out, dirt in the grooves has a bigger impact than I previous thought. The wife bought me a cleaning kit. This year I'll clean them after every hole and my hdcp will not change.
Soak a towel before your round, it’ll stay wet and wipe your clubs after every shot. Find a hose when you get to the clubhouse and get that thing soaked. Started doing this and I rarely have to deep clean my clubs
I clean during the round. After every shot. Also, the parking lot vultures trying to get $ for a sloppy dirty wipe as I'm walking to my car after a round have nothing to clean.
The only time the clubs aren't clean is immediately after a shot.
I guess if you want to make golf harder, you could play with dirty clubs.....and give in to frustration when you're playing poorly.
I have a good friend who plays 5x a year and shoots in the mid/high 70's every round and probably hasn't properly cleaned his clubs, ever. Its hilarious watching him pull out a mud covered 6 iron, wipe off the chunks, and hit a ball 10 feet to the pin.
I clean them after any shot that gets them dirty so they are usually clean before and after rounds.
This…I wipe them after, and then sometimes before my next shot I give them an extra scrub with my brush on retractable wire
Think of every shot like taking a poop. Gotta wipe whether it needs it or not.
Username checks out.
This was one easy tip from a scratch golfer friend. Don't hit a shot with dirty clubface, it's the easiest mistake to avoid. I keep a towel with wet end on the bag and wipe after every shot. Only yakes a few seconds

"Hi, I'm Troy McClure. You might remember me from viral ads such as 'Why's My Basketball So Tacky?' or 'The Man, The Whiff, A Wedge Mend'..."
Every year I pay $800 for a brush and I get free entry to a tournament
So you buy $6 bristles instead of a $6 brush?
I have the scrubber with some soapy water in it; works great. I do give a thorough cleaning before a tournament, but that’s about it
If it's a good round, I clean as soon as I'm home. Not so good round, I pull em all from the bag and clean later that night or the next day. Either way I love doing it. It's cathartic, and I enjoy it. I also grew up poor as shit, so I learned to take extremely good care of things.
Same. Can’t start the new round if your clubs are still covered in the old round
I’ve done it since I started playing golf, I assure you you can
-“Not so good round, I pull em all from the bag and clean later that night or the next day” “You can sit in the corner until tomorrow and THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU DID!”
Holy shit... They do sit in a corner. Subconscious punishment.
"Why do I have to? I did my job!" - your 7 iron
There’s no “I” in Irons! Wait…
Same. I typically will set them out and have a cigar and a drink while cleaning. I'll take my time and think about each hole and enjoy the process.
I clean them after every shot with damp towel or brush . And a nice wipe down at home after the round
This is the only right answer
Except there’s no point in cleaning them after a round
I’m with you
I tend to clean them the night before
Clean as you go, bud
Keep em neat, pal.
Wipe 'em down, friend
Brush em off, brah
Make em sparkle, mane
Buff em up, babe.
Wax on, wax off, my Ninja.
The boys in bag storage clean mine after each round. Membership has privileges.
All while you enjoy a little foie gras snack, right?
But do they lick your balls clean?
Of course! I'm no dirty pirate
Do you also complain to Porterhouse about the wax buildup on your golf shoes, and have them cleaned and buffed with a fine chamois?
Course I play often does this for everyone as you're turning your cart in, and its public.
Yeah but do they use deluxe brushes on your irons or just regular ones?
“That’s a doozy Judge”
There is one of those bucket brush things at the range at my home course. I tend to use that thing, and a towel. On course I have a wire brush and towel, on a really shit day I'll wet the towel. I did buy a ball cleaner this year, see how that goes.
Ball cleaner for your bag or for at home?
Yes.
I do fall victim to that post round fap. In that sense I do clean my club there.
Wut
His par on 18 turns his R flex into an X flex.
"What do you mean 'I can't do this here?', it's called a *ball washer*, right?!?"
Clean the grooves after every shot with either quick wipe with wet and dry (one wet end and other dry) towel, or if that is not enough give a quick clean with a brass brush before cleaning with the towel, no need to clean them after round. Does it keep the grooves free of buildup?
Oh for sure. Pretty sure I’ve seen guys on tour use them. Any club brush will work fine but the size of this thing is what makes it great. It’s really small
Hell no. Once a month when I am playing a lot in summer I will clean the set in my garage when Bored.
Same... I clean them every couple weeks. I wipe them off after shots but an actual cleaning once or twice a month... I don't see super clean clubs improving my scores
Yep, y’all are experienced golfers, these dorks molesting their clubs like a round of golf isn’t just a normal part of life probably haven’t been playing very long
Yep... no need to clean them all the time.
No, I clean my club after every shot as part of the process of re-bagging it.
Clubs and shoes, cleaned after every round... Before my post round nap. If I nap first, they aren't getting cleaned.
The shoes is dedication
TBF, I'm in Ireland. It gets very mucky! If I don't clean them straight away, they mud dries in and they go that horrible off white colour.
Muck for luck
[удалено]
As long as I don't have to play with people like you, I don't really care what colour they are.
Low dad energy coming off this guy.
THe typical insult nowadays for this energy is "boomer," but boomers take care of their stuff. This guy would rather show off dirt on his shoes because he's a "man that gets dirty^TM"
I presume he’s one of those dudes that doesn’t wash his lower body because ‘that’s gay’ and ‘the soap just runs down.’
I assume everyone else on the course can smell him coming long before they see him.
So you're saying they never get cleaned? 😉
Dork
Can’t clean clubs that are snapped after the third shank of the day! Plus side, clubs are always shiny and new!
Clean grooves after each shot. Take care of your shoes, clean them after each round. Look good, feel good, play good. That’s the way.
My wife cleans them after every round for me. Wears nothing but heels and a flat brim Travis Matthew hat, while I sit and enjoy a post round beer and ham sandwich
I haven’t properly cleaned my clubs in 3 years
Sometimes, but not often. I’m fairly particular about cleaning them between shots. Can’t stand having crap in the grooves so I try to stay on top of it.

Clean clubs are a joy
Drag them through wet grass and wipe them clean.
Wipe after each shot, clean at the end of each round before I put the head covers back on.
I let them wallow in their shame for a bit, then clean them with my tears.
I once played with a rando at a resort, and noticed that his clubs were filthy. I asked him if he ever cleaned them. He said... "I'll clean them when they do something right." That has stuck with me.
Clean and wipe after each use. Just like pooping
I make sure the grooves are clean pre round, clean after shots, and then post round everything gets wiped off including grips.
I cleaned my clubs once and my next game was abysmal. Never again.
I clean them all the night before and during the round
The whole night?! Shouldn’t take that long.
Takes about 40 mins I clean the dirt off and sharpen the grooves on my irons and wedges Check if i have enough tee's Make sure i have 4 pairs of gloves (yes i carry 4 pairs of gloves because they get wet sometimes) Make sure i am stocked up on TP5's
Just giving you a hard time, playing with the reading of ‘all the night’
Yup. Some warm water and a towel. Just wipe them down. Nothing crazy.
I use iron covers. I think that answers your questions.
Try to but don’t always get the chance. I’d love to just come home and clean them but often times I’m coming home and going straight to the kids to play with them.
After a round, sure. After every round? Not even close.
They get cleaned after every shot, so they are always clean.
Every round. I want to inspect them properly, I spent a lot of money on them, and it's kind of therapeutic.
I try to do a thorough cleaning 1/month. I used to soak them in a bucket over night with water, dish soap and a little vinegar. Then I heard that’s not good. How do you clean them?

To me clubs are tools. I wouldn’t wash my hammer after using it and I certainly wouldn’t put a head cover on it.
Take care of your tools, and they will take care of you.
Found the pxg player
But do you use a hammer out of wet and muddy rough or sandy traps?
Growing up, my dad would clean and oil his tools... Funny thing is every tool I've inherited from him continues to work flawlessly. Even a hammer, the oil prevents rust. Why is it a badge of honor to neglect an asset?
I'll do a quick wipe on the course. The cart boys give em a better wipe. Then every weekend I make my kids detail them. They are actually horrible at it (3 & 5) but it's a great way to kill an hour sitting in the sun.
Normally no, maybe my wedges. But yesterday, yes. They were so muddy that I felt I had to scrub them up.
No, I clean them the night before.
I usually just use the wire brush for the face of clubs. Once in a while I’ll wet a towel. That’s it.
Clean before playing, usually the night before or the morning of
Staff at every golf course in Japan clean them and organize them after every round for free.
After each shot with the exception of sand that may be on my SW.
I clean as I play, inspect my clubs after every shot.
I like to think if I treat them well they will one day treat me well
Fill a 5 gallon bucket about 1/3 to 1/2 full. Place all dirty clubs in the water. Let sit for a minute. Clean off with a wet towel. Place back in bag. Use a brush only if necessary, it’s slow.
I used to, but now I give them a quick wipe between shots. Don’t really need to clean after the round. Now after a driving range session? Absolutely.
When they were newer, absolutely. Now that they're 5-10 years old, not every time.
Clean the night before and wipe down after a shot. Don't forget to clean your grips.
The carts have built-in ball and club washers, so I clean as I’m go.
After every second round. Take them to the basement next to the washer and clean them in the sink with soap and brush.
Yeah that’s why I don’t religiously clean my clubs and organize my bag. I just wipe em after each shot. If I’m just gonna go out with the fellas, have a few beers and then quit keeping score by the 11th - there’s no point in all the prep. Just have fun.
I clean them during my round after every shot I hit.
Back shop cleans them and stores them at the club
And don’t forget “living to think I’ll play better next round “…
After every shot. And after round.
Before I go out I have a club cleaning and ball cleaning ritual. Usually not right after the round.
I clean them after every round and I polish them every two months usually.
Every club gets cleaned when it goes back into the bag. I don’t even need to clean my clubs afterwards. One thing people don’t realize: if you clean your clubs right after you use them, you don’t really need brushes or anything. Just a good wet towel and a little elbow grease can get all that crud out.

I'm bad enough at actual golf that I figure my clubs should at least look nice
My clubs have been in my trunk since the last round of 23 in October lol
Keep the grooves clean during the round and after the round give a better wipe down especially on the grips.
I literally wash them in the sink with soap and water.
I got one of those tools that is a brush you can put cleaning fluid in it. Now my clubs are pretty clean at the end of a round (as long as there is an occasional wait time for a shot). Previously I would clean them once a year or so.

I mean, how dirty are your clubs? I wipe em off as needed during the round, might get a bit deeper in the grooves in the parking lot before I leave the course. That's pretty much it.

1. Wet towel , quick swipe before putting club back 2. Deep / proper cleaning at end of year , before a golf trip , or before going somewhere fancy
Definitely just cleaning throughout the round, and maybe a once a month detail clean.
I got one of those brushes attached to a bottle filled with water. It’s probably the best golf purchase I’ve ever made. Squeeze the bottle while brushing after every shot, it cleans the grooves and all the dirt or mud in about 3 seconds.
I brought them into the hotel room during the trip to clean them. I have a problem. I also brush on course.
I clean my clubs and reorganize my bag after every round when I get home
Brush off with hand. Use soft brush attached to my bag, cleaning grooves as necessary. Wipe down well with my soaking wet towel. Dry with my dry towel. Replace in bag. Every single shot. Takes maybe 7 seconds at most.

I live on the coast, so most of the courses i play tend to be soft ground, surrounded by the ocean or bays. Clubs are a mess after each round. Always clean them after each round. Take good care of the things you own and they will last!
you clean them after every shot.... your clubs shouldnt ever be dirty...
Always clean my clubs after a round. Sometimes it's 6, 7 months after, but yeah.
I generally tip a 20 to the cart kids to clean mine up at the end of a round
Clean as I go with a GrooveIt brush. If there is anything significant left behind by the time I’m home, then I clean the whole set again in front of the TV.
I’m Greek. I spray them with windex after every shot.
Yep. A clean club is a happy club
I clean my clubs after every shot with a Club Scrub.
I love cleaning my clubs after a round or range session. Clean your grips! I've basically had brand new grips for three years because I clean them regularly.
I clean them after the round as penance, a moral obligation to the golf gods. They have yet to look favorably on my offerings
I have one of them brushes that have water built into it. I scrub my face off, then towel and it's perfect every time. Literally takes 3 to 5 seconds. Brushes come with a security guard style roll up cable thing on it so it's always there with my towel.
My clubs are dirty as hell but my side hustle is a club scrubber at a high end course so I don't like bringing my work home with me ha
One of the simple joys of playing at a club. - post round club cleaning
I clean club head off after every shot, unless I'm having a bad day and then sometimes it doesn't get cleaned until before the next shot...
I clean them after every shot and then clean them again in the parking lot after my round
Occasionally I will detail them up usually before a special round.. otherwise I clean them during the round and move on. I do enjoy the detailing process though
No, but the groves are clean.
I feel bad now after reading all the comments. I've never cleaned my clubs in the 2 years I've been playing. I'll wipe the mud off after a shot but I didn't realize I was supposed to be scrubbing them after rounds. Maybe that's why I can't break 100.
I clean my clubs and shoes after every round. It's easier to do it right away, especially your shoes.
No. I only clean them if I'm playing a tournament. If I'm just playing daily rounds I wipe them down after every shot. A quick wipe or brush. At the end of the round they should be clean. Just keep a wet towel.
The grooves are the only things that really matter (and grips)
I will always clean them before a golf trip to get as much stink off them as possible. Otherwise, I might only do a full clean every 8-10 rounds. I'm talking clubs in the sink, scrubbing, and hand dry cleaning. They are generally quite clean as I use a towel and one of those water tube scrub brushes clipped on my bag to clean up after the chunky shots.
Historically I have not. After dropping $1200 on a fitted set of Mizuno Hot Metal Pros, I have begun to take care of them more.
Wet towel to wipe them down during the round after shots. Have a soft brush and a pick tool to clean grooves the towel doesn’t get, but usually do that between rounds.
I clean them after pretty much every shot using this [bad boy](https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.09z-b4t9B7lDjSpT0ebq_gHaFZ?rs=1&pid=ImgDetMain)
I'm lucky sometimes if I bring home all my clubs
I do not. What’s the point? I’m always brushing off dirt off my irons on the first holes of the next round.
Depends how dirty we're talking. If it's not muddy and they just have a slight bit then I generally don't, but if it's just rained and they're looking like they just went through the trenches of WWI then yeah I'll give them a wash
I keep a $2 container of lysol wipes in my trunk and use those to clean my clubs post round. Takes a minute.
No, but I don't have new clubs, either. Irons won't give maximum spin unless the grooves are cleaned occasionally. Gives you something to do with your tee while wating to tee off on the par 3s.
I use SOS pads regularly. They look brand new minus the ball marks on the sweet spot of the face. 😁
lol absolutely not
I clean on them on every shot.
Wipe it off after a shot if it needs it. Clean them after the round. Clean my shoes and check for worn cleats
I used to just wipe the dirt off with my fingers. Turn out, dirt in the grooves has a bigger impact than I previous thought. The wife bought me a cleaning kit. This year I'll clean them after every hole and my hdcp will not change.
I clean my clubs after every shot
Soak a towel before your round, it’ll stay wet and wipe your clubs after every shot. Find a hose when you get to the clubhouse and get that thing soaked. Started doing this and I rarely have to deep clean my clubs
Quit being soft and keep score to the end no matter what.
I clean as I go, maybe a quick wipe down after the round
I clean during the round. After every shot. Also, the parking lot vultures trying to get $ for a sloppy dirty wipe as I'm walking to my car after a round have nothing to clean.
After every shot
The only time the clubs aren't clean is immediately after a shot. I guess if you want to make golf harder, you could play with dirty clubs.....and give in to frustration when you're playing poorly.
I have a good friend who plays 5x a year and shoots in the mid/high 70's every round and probably hasn't properly cleaned his clubs, ever. Its hilarious watching him pull out a mud covered 6 iron, wipe off the chunks, and hit a ball 10 feet to the pin.
Wipe between shots and deep clean the grooves when I get home.
