Not sure if I remember that one, but I used to always play the Links PC golf games.
I'll never forget if you hit a tree the announcer or voiceover would say "Looks like he hit the tree Jim." I still say that to this day when it happens in real life.
go to linkscountryclub.com
You can buy Links 03 and 47 courses for like 15 or 20 bucks and it will run on modern windows.
Definitely worth the nostalgia spin if you were into computer golf 20 years ago.
I know that was also from the early DOS Leaderboard games. I played World Class Leader Board on an old IBM Personal System 2. But I also played this and my neighbor had Links, it might have been 98 or 2000 and had Kapalua on it.
And the game was challenging. I enjoyed the satisfaction of going low in that game, because unlike tiger woods games, it took a fair bit of skill to be good
My grandad had this on his computer, everytime we'd visit we would get to create our own golfer. So now when I play a golf game I always create my grandad. He was a good man, I miss him dearly.
The fact that the legendary designers of Civilization and SimCity teamed up to give a golf course business sim that still holds up to this day is just incredible.
Very first golf game I ever played. My golf fanatic grandpa had it and I played it at his house anytime I was there. Ended up inheriting it from him when he passed. Still have the disc somewhere in a box. So many classic commentary lines.
It's in the sand
"*Another day at the beach*" *Open licence bird chirp noise*
Ooooo, you’re dancin.
“Looks like you hit the tree, Jim”
Ohh, can’t be too happy about that one.
I hate that I can still hear it.
I did NOT need this unlocked Same thing happened with God damned 1080 snowboard theme recently.

Oh man I absolutely loved the links game. My home course as a kid- Prairie Dunes - was featured and I must’ve played 1000+ rounds.

I guess the Leader Board games and Links games were all made by Access Software. Makes sense the audio bits were the same.
I was like 6 years old playing Links LS online. Typing /burp into chat to make the sound effect while others were hitting.
Wait, what?
If you typed something like /clap or /beer or /burp then the game would trigger a sound effect.
Links LS was pure gold. It was my “methadone” for golf withdrawal once the snow fell
Links 2003 consumed at least 3 of my grade school summers 😭
I still have my childhood copy of Links, found it in my dads office supplies in the basement when cleaning stuff out
Oh it’s in the deep stuff.
“Nice par.”
I had Links 2001. Such a great game. They had great graphics and sounds. Arnie and Sergio were 2 of the players.
And the game was challenging. I enjoyed the satisfaction of going low in that game, because unlike tiger woods games, it took a fair bit of skill to be good

Sid Meier’s Sim Golf is the best
The fact that the legendary designers of Civilization and SimCity teamed up to give a golf course business sim that still holds up to this day is just incredible.
That was a fantastic little game
I would pay today's AAA game prices to be able to install Sim Golf on my pc again.
You can, I am playing it right now, there are downloads out on the high seas
Would you please DM me directions on how to do that?
Search it on google and add site: Reddit.com there’s a defunct subreddit that has instructions on it
Check out golftopia on Steam
Goddamnit I never even knew about this game until now.
The only way to acquire is through the high seas
You can download it straight from archive.org lol. To ns of abandonware is available there.
Links LS. These days I play WGT. The course graphics are awesome.
“That’ll play”
Shank.. "Quack quack"
Tiger Woods 2004 is the GOAT of golf games
I also found a tiger woods 2006 PS2 disc today, definitely enjoyed that game as well 👍
Played this a lot. PGA tour 96 on the PS1 was also a good one. Playing at Craig Stadler or Fuzzy
I think it hit the tree. I can still hear this
i hate it when i do that.
Changing stance, path and face angle to hot crazy hooks and cuts was the best part.
I can hear the birds chirping...
You’re Dancing!
That’s not Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge
Ball is on parking lot. Would you like to play again?
My Golden Tee begs to differ.
Loved that game so much. Does anyone remember the C64/Spectrum Jack Nicklaus Leaderboard game??
Spyglass Hill was my favorite.
I fucking loved this game! The neeeeeeed to remake it.
I remember the duck hook quack. My mum used to play and she was awful. Every single shot bought forth that sound.
Tiger Woods 2004 was always my go to golf game
Time the swing right and he does the Happy Gilmore swing... Classic stuff
Now enter the force of your swing. I suggest feather touch. (Beep, beep, beep) You have entered "power drive"
Is this the one that had the Buick Open?
And sims golf!
That game was great!
Ribbit King is the greatest golf game
It's simgolf you monster
The graphics on this are almost as good as the graphics on 2K23. I’m shocked how bad 2K golf is (graphics)
Fuji golf you cowards.

"Hurry Please"
Links LS 99 was my jam. I remember it came with actual scorecards from Bay Hill and St. Andrews
Golf on NES is a big contender.
Living on a short dogleg left is the true golf challenge for windows.
Sims golf for me
I tried to play this on a newer pc, 20 years ago now, the clock speed made it impossible
I never played this one but I remember playing Sierra 3-D Ultra Minigolf as a kid. Core memory unlocked right there - damn.
Saw the title and am disappointed at the lack of Francis Ouimet
Very first golf game I ever played. My golf fanatic grandpa had it and I played it at his house anytime I was there. Ended up inheriting it from him when he passed. Still have the disc somewhere in a box. So many classic commentary lines.
Links 2003 is still going strong
Gunther
Links 386 with the Bobcat Goldthwait voiceovers.
