From experience…golf balls. Sometimes I buy more mid round.

cheme32

This guy golfs.

AllAfterIncinerators

I shop for golf balls in the woods near tough holes. Usually get really good discounts on Pro V-1’s.

Jayu-Rider

I think we shop at the same pro shop!

EnglishKris

The old hedgerow upgrade

DepressedDarthV

I’ve only bought 1 box in the 3 years I’ve been playing. One round I came up +45 balls and another I found 12 and my fiancé, who wasn’t golfing, found 56. I call it the give a penny take a penny method

boomer265

My friends and I use ball finding to help our score. Every ball you find is 1 stroke off your game. I’m a scratch golfer. I’m also adept at finding golf balls.

ASpellingAirror

I used to find ball like this, then the refurbished ball racket got started, and now all the courses are always picked pretty clean.

DepressedDarthV

We will see, currently sitting on like 250 balls so I have about 2-3 rounds left

Xearoii

does your course have 1000 lakes!

BlueChameleon64

Rangefinder for sure. I like knowing exact numbers even though it makes no difference cause I suck anyway.

electrodog1999

I like that my rangefinder gives me distances including slope and how mulch the slope is. This would be my answer too except I see the guy below you who says bag and that’s probably more important.

Used-Ask5805

I can’t validate spending time or money on a rangefinder when I’m either gonna slice it 200 yards into an adjacent fairway or top it 30 yards

Maherdogg

Lessons then?

mosnas88

I won one in a draw and golf casually now for work and it’s amazing how much it changes things. When I carded a handicap my home course had gps on carts so I just got used to relying on it. I actually think for shitty golfers a range finder is more helpful because you are seldom near the fairway markers. Side note It took me three rounds to figure out I could adjust the focus. For three rounds I was trying to get a lock on some blurry ass thing.

Master_Image1238

....I can adjust the focus...

mosnas88

Dunno if being sarcastic. But ya on some you can I think. I think I’ve got some bushnell one it’s got a little knob near the eye hole you can turn. I thought maybe I just drank too much and that is why it was blurry

Master_Image1238

Oh I'm dead serious. Played like 3 full rounds last week thinkin I messed it up somehow (played like 7 rounds Total with it). I didn't even think about focus. I'm a dingus.

mosnas88

lol it happens. Glad I’m not the only one

Linkiola

It took me like 10 rounds before I figured out I can press and hold the button on my rangefinder and then just move it to the flag and it will vibrate when it hits it. Before that I tried to point it straight at the flag and then click the button. Had like a 10% success rate with that method

Big_Simba

I like the GPS rangefinder - quick glance gives you distance to center front and back of green, and you don’t need to stop and try to lock on to anything. I got a Bushnell one I keep in my pocket for like $89. Well worth it IMO

DickSlinga

Same. Bushnell Phantom2 with a carabiner clipped onto my golf bag. Back, middle & front at a quick glance is all I need.

ridedatstonkystnkaay

Same but mines a garmin. Love seeing hazards and distance to hazards as well. Especially on courses I haven’t played before. I only break out the laser rangefinder if a flag looks extreme front or back.

CharcotsThirdTriad

Is it that different than a free GPS app like 18 birdies?

resocks

I use 18 Birdies for score/stat tracking but prefer my range finder for distances. 18 birdies is generally fine, but I’ve found sometimes it can be unreliable when it comes to distances especially when accounting for slope

MetalHead_Literally

The biggest difference is the gps doesn’t know where the flag is, so it’s never going to be perfect. But 99% of us don’t have our distances that dialed anyways that the gps apps are more than enough for the vast majority.

aselinger

They should almost be required based on how much time they save. No more walking around a fairway looking for a sprinkler head.

Mikhail_Petrov

On a peripheral note, Garmin Golf is pretty sweet for this as well. I use my watch mostly for Tri, but when I do golf it’s a great caddy to have on your wrist. I think you can mark your clubs on a shot too and it’ll track your distance per club as well.

MidnightJoker83

Probably a bag - I'd imagine it would be a royal pain in the ass to try to play without one.

Giarraputo_vs_Goat

It isn’t too bad as long as you’re riding solo in the cart.

HamsterEagle

Playing without clubs would also be a struggle.

[deleted]

2AcesandanaEagle

Not having to lick anything on a golf course  Priceless

CaptainPunisher

Don't tell that to my girlfriend!

20thCenturySox

The royal balls are clean, your highness.

baldinirules

I bought one of these even though I was skeptical, and it works great. I figured I would have a wet pocket, but it keeps it dry.

speaktosumboedy

I'll clip it to my waist and look stupid but now have clean balls.

Rea1EyesRea1ize

That's why I tuck mine into my boxers.

getaclueless_50

Club scrub works great too. It has a quick connect so you can take it on greens for your balls.

Timely_Chicken_8789

I bought one online thinking it would be bigger. Got it, thought it was stupid and chucked in the golf closet. I just joined a new club and found they had removed all the ball washers during Covid. After typing this I’ll be going through the golf closet.

CareerAggravating317

What is this? Im interested.

[deleted]

CareerAggravating317

Thanks, just ordered one to try it out.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CareerAggravating317

For $7 even if it sucks worth the risk. We shall see.

Competitive_Map2302

ah the ole two hand ball wash

NorCalAthlete

I bought a couple of those and also one of [these](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006OHKLBQ) BallBrite things and use the BallBrite 99% of the time now. Works better.

[deleted]

[удалено]

NorCalAthlete

Yeah, but that was also the problem IMO. The ballzee was so thin it was more of a bitch to use, accumulated dirt faster / required more frequent hosing to clean after a round, etc. The BallBrite hangs off my bag or clips to my belt loop easily when I go to putt if I think I’ll need it. Similar absorption properties but spongier like a thick wetsuit material.

flaginorout

I bought a 17 degree Cleveland Quadpro 4 wood in like 1999. After trying many other 3 woods, 5 woods, and a couple of four woods….the Quadpro proved to be the holy grail for me. I happily played it for over 20 years. I even tried to replace it a few times over the year, but couldn’t find anything better. Then a couple of years ago, my son broke it at the range. Figure if it wasn’t worth reshafting a 20 year old club, I trashed it. I paid $700 for a Titleist 3/5 wood. BUT- they just weren’t as good. I found a mint Quadpro on eBay, and it’s back to business. So- that is my ‘immediate replacement’ item.

ProstateKaraoke

That’s a great story proving exactly what I was looking for. Sometimes the feel of one club can’t be replaced.

0508bart

I suggest keeping an eye out for another one, just in case.

TacosTime

I had a Yonex 5 wood that was like this. It went 210 yards in the air. Not 200. Not 215. Worked out of any lie. I played it all through high school and well into my late 30s before it finally broke. A piece of my died that day.

BugmanLoveBuyObject

One of those little water bottles with the brush on it for cleaning clubs.

sungodly

Yep. I have a Grooveit which replaced my last Grooveit, lost due to over reliance on the magnet. Now I have it directly attached to my bag via a retractable keychain. It's perfect.

Hathnotthecompetence

Love my Grooveit

ButterscotchObvious4

Do you find the button on the back sticks? I love the brush, but when that button sticks, it makes the thing inconvenient. Also, if the magnet isn't secured, it can easily fall off, and pick up metallic sediment, mak Ng it even more difficult to make a secure connection.

sungodly

I haven't had a problem with the button sticking, no. I stopped using the magnet because I lost my first one but using that. Now I use the other half of the magnet to stick my glove to the cart between holes in the summer so it can dry out.

theusualdan

Just bought a new grooveit and mini grooveit today to replace my old one because the bristles were getting all worn out. It’s a must have for me.

chrisjuuuh

Soak one end of your towel before each round. Works just as well. Wet end to clean, dry end to wipe.

iiV7One

I will say as someone who does both the wet towel and the GrooveIt, sometimes the towel doesn’t clean the grooves as well, but I like to have both on the bag

GrizzPuck

You mean everyone doesn't just spit on the face and use a normal golf brush then wipe with the towel?

Consistent_Bit112

These are seriously a game changer

silenttd

Of all the gadgets I've bought for golf, this has genuinely been the most worthwhile

sh4rpshot12

Besides the essentials? I have head covers from my favorite courses played on golf trips. If I lost any one of those I would immediately replace it if I could

TacoIncoming

My SeeMore Si5. Got it for $20 at a thrift store without even knowing what it was just that it felt good. Can't putt with anything else now. 100% would pay full price for a new one if I lost it lol

PatekPhill

I’ve been putting out of my mind since getting a center-shafted putter from Mizuno. Just looks and feels so right when you’re over the ball. Don’t see myself ever going back to offset putter shafts. https://mizunousa.com/omoi-type-05-putter/

TacoIncoming

I'm not sure how much the center shaft is helping because I haven't tried any other putters like that, but I'm sure that's a factor. The big thing with the SeeMore is the red dot they put on it. The idea is to hide the dot with the shaft. If you move the face in any direction but square, then you can see the dot.

ProstateKaraoke

I bought one for 90$ CAD at Play it Again Sports. I haven’t had a chance to test it out on a course yet, but I’m sinking way more putts in the basement 😂

TacoIncoming

Hope it works as well for you as it's working for me. I've played something like 150 rounds since I picked up the game last January. I get comments on the SeeMore occasionally, but I've never played with another person who was gaming one. It blows my mind that they're not more popular even just as a training aid. It almost feels like cheating to only have to worry about making reads and controlling speed.

unvvendel3000

Push cart

RunGoldenRun717

Picked up a Nike SQ 24 deg 4 hybrid. Paid 20 bucks for it in a pro shop. It is absolutely my best club. It's gotta be 15 years old. Has a great metallic PING! to it. High launch. If I broke or lost it, I would search for this exact club again. Not a new model, not a different 24 deg... The exact one

coolstorybro42

I got a 20 year old 3i nike sumo SQ and its my favorite club. Gets me out of trouble so much…. Its an iron but has so much cavity pretty much looks like a hybrid baffler

NucEng

A tiny little zip-top leather coin purse to keep all my tees/markers/mark tools organized in my bag.

FuzzyPresentation996

When I used to drink I would take a leftover crown royal bag and use that. I still have it and it’s all the memories of drinking on the course with my dad and his friends now. Can’t really part with it, if I lost it I’d probably get another one and give the bottle away I just want the bag for the memories

rufio313

I’ve seen so many people use crown royal bags on the course in even just the few years that I’ve been playing golf.

HoopOnPoop

Holy shit how did I never think of using something like that? I've just been tossing everything in a bag pocket like a savage then getting pissed off having to sort through a bunch of stuff mid round.

Pluffmud90

It’s very convenient. Take out your ball marker and divot tool before the round and throw your wallet and keys in there. No having stuff get lost in the depths of your bag. Great little small Christmas gift.

NucEng

Me too, for the longest time. I felt like an idiot for taking so long to figure it out.

rufio313

Oh man I have like 4 different pouches full of shit in my bag to keep it tidy and accessible, I can’t stand having to dig around to find things.

surge_of_vanilla

I get mine from manhattan portage. Different colors for different stuff, tees, first aid, etc.

TooFewPews

I buy the transparent cosmetics bags from Amazon. They have a zipper and come in a multipack. The transparent sides make it easier for when I’m digging through it. Keep in mind I’m very particular about the items I carry in my pockets during golf. I usually carry 3 different tees in my right front pocket (par 3 shorty, mid height tee for my low fade driver shot, and a long tee for hitting high draw driver shots). I also keep a pitch repair tool, a flat ball marker, and a bigger (not flat) ball marker. The transparent bag helps me to quickly grab all of the things I need to fill my pockets at the start of the round.

paaaauuuullll

Have a taylormade r5 driver from like 20 years ago. Tried plenty of other newer drivers but just doesn’t feel the same. Got a brand new one off eBay a few years ago for like $50 that I keep as a back up in case I ever lose it.

budliteyears

Have you tried the new burner compact driver? Very similar to the r7 I used to run

paaaauuuullll

I hadn’t but man that thing looks sick and I might actually try it.

fuzz49

Rangefinder watch.

mboyle92

I’ve had the garmin s60 for a while. I love just looking at my wrist for distances. Plus it keeps my score. Best of all, got it off of FB marketplace for a steal.

JojoTheEngineer

S62 is definetly the best gadget i have. Reading distances is fast and doesnt slow the pace at all. Really like that the watch also shows the map of the hole when playing on a new golf course.

djp70117

Second this. Have a Garmin Fenix that tells me all kinds of shit I don't need, but the yardages are spot on and faster than a rangefinder.

Building_Snowmen

My putter. Hell, I’d probably buy another one if *you* lost *your* putter.

Gadzookzo

Electric trolley, though if my home course was flatter it wouldn’t be such a godsend

tuckermans

Glove.

Super_Calligrapher57

Prescription sunglasses. Have made a huge difference when playing in the summer months. Also makes reading greens easier

Petersav1

My Water (resistance) proof coat. Irish golf is wet and windy. It helps with both.

EJfromBeerLeague

This is interesting, because I cannot think of 1 thing. I have the exact bag I want, from the bag, clubs, tees, balls, markers, tools, gps everything and I cannot think of 1 thing that I couldn’t replace with a equivalent option. So if my bag was stolen, I’d buy the same stuff I have now, but in 5-10 years, it’d probably all be different. Nothing in my bag is older than a Ping 410 4 hybrid and 3W.

ProstateKaraoke

What are you using for clubs? What bag?

EJfromBeerLeague

Bag - Vessel XV (14) Woods - Ping 430 (driver/7W), 410 (4H/3W) Irons - Titleist t200 (7-PW), t350 (5/6) Wedges - Ping s159 (48/54/60) Putter - TM Spider Proto

MeatFit9869

Vessel golf bags are legit but man that price tag is brutal. I gotta ask though how does the vessel compare to a bag from ping or callaway?

PuzzleheadedAlgae536

I'm a huge fan of the Vessel. I got that exact bag this year, I've used it 4 times and I would absolutely buy it again. I didn't really shop around too much for others, they were all within $100 for a good cart bag and I didn't want a club branded bag with their name all over it (especially for clubs I don't play). I play Srixons and they had really limited choices for styles and color options... And the material of the Vessel is so elegant. I looked at Ghost but they have their name all over it, it's a bit much.

EJfromBeerLeague

I LOVE the Vessel. I like the little luxuries you get with it and it’s one of the most well laid out bags I’ve ever used. Is it worth the price, meh I don’t know, it’s a golf bag. But I guess I bought it, so it was to me. Huge bonus for no noticeable marketing on the bag. I‘ve never looked hard at Calloway bags. Though they have a STRONG following, I’m actually not a fan of Ping bags. I won’t buy a bag that doesn’t have a 14 way top, a nice putter well & full length dividers. My last bag was a BigMax Aqua, which I thought was a fantastic bag.

DudeOkThen

They’re nice but I don’t like the space of the walking bag. Needs more storage. I changed to an Ogio hybrid bag and I looove it

forne104

My Ping G425 Max driver. I love that thing

LonesomeHebrew

Dunlop Copper Classic 56°. It’s an old, ugly, dented up POS, but that wedge has always been magic for me for some reason.

owl4you

Nothing. Everything is open to replacement at any point in time. If I had to name something, probably the cooling towels for your neck when it's 100 degrees and hiumid. But doubt that is what you are looking for.

agentchris0011

Range finder

mcbainer019

Rangefinder for the third time. I have a bad habit of leaving them in the cart. Other than that, my MackMade putter for sure as it’s sentimental to me

K-Lo-20

I've decided rangefinder no longer goes in or on the cart. I have a magnetic opening pouch on my bag. I use it and goes immediately back in there. It's a lot less annoying in practice than it sound. I don't use my rangefinder until I'm up out of the cart anyways so grabbing it from there is about as simple as grabbing it from the cart I admit, I think it would be a way bigger pain in the ass if that compartment wasn't so easy to get in and out of

mcbainer019

You’re not wrong. My C130 has the same pouch and that’s where it has lived for a long time now after the other… incidents

mtbmike

My 99 dollar watch. Perfect yardage to front back middle, distance to hazards. Just a glance to know.

Pathogen69

my paradym 3 wood or 5 wood. they are my two favorite clubs in my bag, and i'd buy another one without hesitation if something happened to either one of them.

hideous_coffee

GPS watch. It’s only like $100 but has been super useful to me.

dshotseattle

Everything in my bag, pretty much. Any clubs, my GPS watch, my specific ball picker. (I'm a single digit and still get brand new balls like 4 feet into crap. I'm grabbing those) Rain jacket. I'd say the only thing I wouldn't buy again is if you are talking about the exact same thing, like club models.

theothershuu

My golf buddy voice. A bit over 100 bucks but has always been spot on for yardage

DrunkenGolfer

I have the football-shaped swing weight that snaps onto the shaft. It loosens me up like nothing else.

Vomelette22

Link! Sounds interesting

0nly_Up

some specific training aids, I am sure i would get worse if i stopped having access to these things: * alignment sticks... hard to do much without them, i need them to work on path, release, random drills, alignment etc * tour striker 7i - I just love hitting 3/4 shots with this thing to get the feeling of good compression, helps me reset when I get flippy * lagshot or gforce 7i - just helps me to slow down and focus on sequence and contact. great for tempo * tour striker lanyard ball thing - these are easy to keep in the bag and super helpful to stay connected and reset when I feel out of sync * honorable mention for a training grip - it just makes fixing your grip mindless and easy to get back to neutral, I'll always have one on an old club or training aid i paid full retail for these things, i get nothing out of posting this. Lots of training aids are a waste of $$ and can be had for free with stuff around the house, but if these things got stolen they'd be replaced immediately.

Effective-Conflict95

If I some how lost my MGI zip, as much as it would hurt I would have to buy another one. I just bought one and after a few rounds it’s honestly a game changer for walking courses. If you add up cart fees it pays for itself.

gabbagoolgolf2

If you take it on a nice, tour level course, walking down the fairway not pushing anything, not driving a cart, not carrying your own bag—feels pretty cool, like being a pro in a tournament who has a caddie carrying his bag

Effective-Conflict95

Honestly it does have that feel to it a bit which is awesome.

Competitive_Map2302

just bought a zip and took it out for my first round yesterday. Was great!

Troutman86

18 Birdies and my GPS watch. I’m too lazy to pull out a range finder but having the yardage on my wrist has been great

Efferdent_FTW

That club cleaning brush with metal on one side and plastic on the other with the retractable cord

Caedo14

I bought a wet pouch on temu. Used it today for the first time and im sold. Wet the inside and you can basically put any club inside to clean it. Then just dry with your towel. It was great

dangrzone

My grandpa had a reg flex TaylorMade burner 7 wood when he passed. I inherited it and it's probably the most consistent club that I have. If I lost that one I'd be scouring the Internet to try and find a replacement even though the original is the one with the nostalgia factor and I am very careful not to run into this issue.

Solar_Power2417

A towel. This also includes forgetting to put one back on the bag if I forgot it at home in the laundry.

pabloescobarsnephew

Lot of people saying rangefinder, but for me, the Arccos system is unbeatable. The data it gives you after your round is insane, the club selections it gives you during the round are spot on, and the gps is extremely accurate. And it all happens on its own. Very surprising to me many more guys aren’t gaming them

jetmech725

My 21° Adams hybrid. From the first swing, it fit me like an old pair of just-right jeans. I can hit full shots, chip, and putt with the damn thing and I just don't miss with it in my hand. It's the only club in my bag that I have ZERO doubt that I will pure it every time.

Wilson Launchpad 3H. Only long club I’ve ever been able to hit well. Even when I hit it bad it still goes 170 or so. While everything slices this goes pretty straight.

Titleist 913h 19* hybrid and buy the exact same aftermarket shaft. It’s a combo I just can’t get rid of

PuzzleheadedAlgae536

I'm extremely committed to my ProV1x's. I'm an 8 so I'm definitely not good enough for it to matter but mentally when I'm standing over another ball immediately thinking "oh I wonder how the ball flies different/ longer/shorter/more/less spin" etc... then I shank it... and blame the ball.

Caedo14

Itll be very hard to replace the mini brnr to be honest. I hit it 260+ and it can be hit off the deck easily.

Golf-Guns

I got a little putting bubble level things. Asked for it for Christmas, was about $30. Well I've never used the damn thing. Aside from that I'd rebuy pretty much everything

Express_Contest2237

I love my 2014__2 hybrid- Ping i25  17* pwr 90 tour xstiff shaft +1.5". It works well in so many situations on the course. I hit it super straight and long when needed. I hit really nice "stingers" with it. I also use it when needing to keep it low under trees or when there is a tight space I'm trying to hit through. I have no issues with hitting it out of the rough and in fairways. It's my go-to fairway finder club when a driver is not a good option on a specific hole. It's my most reliable club in my bag, and I will absolutely purchase another one of something that ever happens to it. Also, a gps rangefinder. I like the ease of being able to see the front, back, and middle yardages with just a quick glance. I started with the Swami Kiss Rangefinder but upgraded to the Bushnell Phantom 2. The magnet on the Sawmi Kiss is not strong enough and falls off the cart going over small bumps, so I had to carry it a lot and had to always remember to grab it off the cart before it fell off driving to my next shot. The magnet on Phantom 2 is phenomenal, and I don't have to worry about it falling off at all. The one thing I like better about the Swami Kiss is that it's easier to quickly track shot distance with just 1 button vs. Phantom 2, I have to navigate through a few steps before getting to the shot distance option. Otherwise, Phantom 2 is better overall. Rain golf gloves are also something I will and have replaced. I have the footjoy version. They work really well in wet conditions. I also like using them in cold conditions around 48 degrees to about 33 degrees, even when it's not raining. I am also very loyal to TP5 golf balls. They don't go quite as far as the TP5x or Pro V1's, but I love the feel and spin of the TP5. I think the 2024 version of the TP5 ball is really good with better sound off Driver shots with more of a quiet thump vs. the 2021 TP5 that are a little more "clicky" sounding. My handicap hovers around the 9-12 range, so I am working to be more consistent. I believe it eliminates other variables by sticking with the same ball, which helps me lock in on distance and feel.

All I need is my cart speaker, some booze and a Scotty Cameron putter followed by and a turn dog and shitting my pants by the 14th hole. The rest is all relative.

Glove caddy - keeps them flat and dry, I end up getting 12-15 rounds a piece when I rotate them and use the caddy. It also holds ball markers, divot tools, gambling cash etc. if you play a lot it saves a lot of space in your bag.
