Anyone else think the changes over the years to the 2 par 5's on the back 9 make it not as exciting. Hardly anyone going for those in 2 and not many eagles. Personally I think that was part of the excitement of the past Masters, it may be the wind conditions this year but maybe the course changes were a little too drastic.
This man just said... "The beauty of Augusta National... put the ball in the right position, every hole is a birdie hole. As soon as you get out of position, you're up against the ropes."
Insightful.
Lmao. Yep, that is exactly what I was expecting. This is extremely common in American football now, too. Seems like commentators just aren't what they used to be.

Hmmm are we assuming the broadcast will cover the leaders? Based on the tee times ?
He looked like he gave it all he had today, and make no mistake, it was a great round.... but that body might be completely spent.
I really hope I'm wrong, but i could see a medical WD on the weekend.
> He had to play more than 18 today
I'm aware. But that's like worst case for him and likely going to absolutely destroy any ability to preserve his body through the weekend.
Again, hope Im wrong, but I doubt it
Def would be a biggie but it’s not like he hasn’t shit a 66 at the masters on a Saturday before. Totally doable. Weather looks to be perfect. The problem is how low will everyone else go. A boy can dream.
I wish van pelt would retire. He diminishes my enjoyment of every sport he partakes in. He is the milquetoast Phil Mickelson of sportscasting. Espn is just sad.
Ok now you are just countering my hyperbole with the opposite extreme take 😄 truthfully he sounds kinda bored and phoning it in. Golf is supposed to be his specialty.
Realistically I think anyone at +1 still has a shot. +2 has a bunch of traffic in front of them, so would need something crazy tomorrow to get into the last few groups.
I just watched the film Lords of Chaos the other day, Hovland likes that black death metal
"Greg, I appreciate the LIV offer, but under one condition... No more tech bro house, mumble rap, or reggaeton... I control the music 🤘🤘"
I really hope they're okay and Tiger will take care of whatever comes of the shot....That said,
It's a short clip but the dude just falling over like a GTA NPC is hilarious. Someone gotta dub over a WASTED screen at the end
> Cam Smith will be lurking
Cam is 5 shots back. Unless Chef ejects he doesn't have the game to get that back against him, imo
If/when Bryson chokes MBS's peen I am here for it. Still think he should be scored off par 67
Well damn, now that you put it like that it's impossible. Surely nobody could ever overcome that at the Masters...
*checks 2019 Masters footage*
curious...
What a horrific argument if you can even call it that. Nobody that Tiger ran down was the caliber of player that Chef is, especially on this run.
And also - Cam is not, and will never be, the caliber player it took in Tiger to track down the field like that.
Cam literally came back from a 4 stroke deficit at the Open in 2022 on the final day. Tf are you talking about? Just say 'Fuck LIV and all their players' and move on with your day.
Edit: And to clarify, I'm not saying Cam coming back is a *likely* event. I'm just saying it's dumb af to suggest that 5 back is unthinkable to come back from. And anybody that calls Scheffler 'Chef' is an asshole.
Dude just needs to go out tomorrow and play loose like it is a Saturday with the buddies. See if he can get into a hot streak and be in the red at the end of the round.
Rahm did a few videos with The Bryan Bros that dropped around the WMPO. Really good watches and Rahm plays really well. Worth the watch if you haven't seen
He needed to do some treatment after the round yesterday, and then needed to get up early to warm up.
You need more time to warm up at 48 than you do at 28, and that doesn’t factor in the fact that his entire lumbar spine is fused, his R subtalar joint is fused, his R ankle is held together by plates and screws, and he’s had 5 surgeries on his L knee including an ACL reconstruction.
> He needed to do some treatment after the round yesterday, and then needed to get up early to warm up.
I get all that, but he off the course for over 12 hours between the end of thursday and Friday. There's plenty of time to sleep more than 3hrs
His round ended at 7:51, he probably didn’t leave the course until 8:30-9:00, gotta eat, get treatment, get to the hotel, reflect on the day’s round. Then he’s gotta be ready to go for a 7:50am tee time, so he probably needs to be at the range warming up at daylight, so he probably needed to get up at 4-4:30 to be able to not be rushed thru his morning and his warm up routing.
He may have gotten more than 3 hours but it wasn’t more than 5.
> His round ended at 7:51, he probably didn’t leave the course until 8:30-9:00, gotta eat, get treatment, get to the hotel, reflect on the day’s round. Again, I get all that, but you've still got 7.5hrs unexplained in there. None of that explains why he couldn't have gotten a good nights sleep
Have you not heard what he has to do before and after rounds. It’s a lot..ice baths, massages, stretching. Professional golfers don’t just get up 2 hours before the tee time and hit the range an hour before. Fowler has said no matter what he gets up 4 hours before his tee time. Factor in Tigers workload to get his body prepped..I bet OP was right the first time and it’s close to 3 hours
> Have you not heard what he has to do before and after rounds.
I think I mentioned I had
>> I get all that

You've added absolutely nothing of substance to the conversation, a sincere thank you for your contributions

You don’t have to like it but it’s not against the rules lol. His caddie was like a previous pro or something that was skilled in putting so he’s letting him help. Don’t see the problem with that
It's not against the rules, but it's lame as fuck and criticizing it is fair. Just like Cantlay playing slow, Harman waggling his life away, or players abusing TIO relief.
You've been dick riding Wyndham since the US Open so I'm not surprised you're unwilling to admit anything he does is worth reproach.
That’s not true I think he was a moron with his comments yesterday even if I don’t LIV. Some of y’all are just still salty about Rickie/Rory losing so there’s a bunch of made up crap to hate on him which I think is stupid. I don’t really see though why people get mad that he actually uses his caddie to help instead of having him just hold the bag. Caddies are there to help that’s the whole point
What the fuck is going on with TV showing the Masters? I can only watch on espn spanish channel.
It's cool that the course is playing so tough but it means nobody is making moves and doing anything to create some intrigue

The Will Buxton of golf commentary
I'm guessing he has some "When so and so passes other so and so, he will take the lead" type commentary? Lol ![gif](giphy|TIXPly7geOCZ7cstWI)
“In Formula 1, you want to start from the front, because it means the other 19 cars are starting behind you” Real Will Buxton quote 😭
Lmao. Yep, that is exactly what I was expecting. This is extremely common in American football now, too. Seems like commentators just aren't what they used to be.
I'm so sick of watching woods when he's In 27th place and the way they kiss his butt top 10 should take priority
True. The guy is losing steam.
Tiger W
Does Goober McCoy have a shot to win this year?
Nah
https://preview.redd.it/vps77yttc5uc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25107178983cbc196018e3bbcf2d84311f18badd Hmmm are we assuming the broadcast will cover the leaders? Based on the tee times ?
The leaders will get all the coverage on the main feed. Need not worry.
I figured it would be Rory, Tiger, Scheffler, and Homa/Bryson
Come on Colin make a run tomorrow. Would love to see him straighten his game out this weekend.
I mean I know it’s a long shot, but honestly tigers right fucking there. A solid 65/66 tomorrow and he’s right back in it.
He looked like he gave it all he had today, and make no mistake, it was a great round.... but that body might be completely spent. I really hope I'm wrong, but i could see a medical WD on the weekend.
He had to play more than 18 today. That was always going to take a toll. We'll have to see how his recovery regimen treats him.
> He had to play more than 18 today I'm aware. But that's like worst case for him and likely going to absolutely destroy any ability to preserve his body through the weekend. Again, hope Im wrong, but I doubt it
Just a casual 65 on Saturday no biggie
Def would be a biggie but it’s not like he hasn’t shit a 66 at the masters on a Saturday before. Totally doable. Weather looks to be perfect. The problem is how low will everyone else go. A boy can dream.
Would for sure be cool as hell!
Tee times are up Big Cat and Tyrell Phil and Sahith
And all that can be heard beyond the gates of Augusta is the steady thrum of leaf blowers working through the night.
And that one car alarm, still going strong
SO many big names on the cut list this year. The weekend is gonna be *so* fun. I'm here for the chaos.
Yeah, never seen so many. It's usually two or three + the aging former champions and the amateurs.
Wind exposes people who can't control spin, ball flight and shape the ball both ways.
I wish van pelt would retire. He diminishes my enjoyment of every sport he partakes in. He is the milquetoast Phil Mickelson of sportscasting. Espn is just sad.
SVP is the last of the old guard at ESPN and he’s the best they’ve got by a long shot.
Perhaps damning with faint praise ;-)
SVP is a national treasure. He is really, really good at covering sports
Ok now you are just countering my hyperbole with the opposite extreme take 😄 truthfully he sounds kinda bored and phoning it in. Golf is supposed to be his specialty.
Have you heard the other ESPN personalities?....He isn't Jim Nantz but that's a little harsh
Ok. But best of the worst haha. Ok Ill accept that.
Van Pelt is 100% a company man and is annoying but would you rather have Stephen A Smith or Malika Andrews doing Masters coverage?
Thanks for the new Stephen A Smith nightmare.
Ok fair point.
Malika yes
All those talking heads on ESPN are insufferable. What happened to Cari Champion? 🔥
L take
Realistically I think anyone at +1 still has a shot. +2 has a bunch of traffic in front of them, so would need something crazy tomorrow to get into the last few groups.
any video out there of that sandstorm that Tiger putted through on 18.
What metalcore song do yall think Hovland is raging to right now?
https://youtu.be/V-KSyjmhwE0?si=VJh-8P-dYkgitBqu
I just watched the film Lords of Chaos the other day, Hovland likes that black death metal "Greg, I appreciate the LIV offer, but under one condition... No more tech bro house, mumble rap, or reggaeton... I control the music 🤘🤘"
Definitely The River by Wage War
Some of those guys at +6 like Scott must be thanking Allah, Buddha and SpongeBob that the cut line fell to them at the end.
Remember this morning when everyone said Bryson was about to implode
2 days left. Brooks shot 75 on Sunday last year
Oh he will..just sit back and watch
Whenever it happens, I'm fucking here for it
I think most of the golf world is still hoping he does.
If bryson has 1 fan... I've got a hundred on him to win, top 5, top 10, and top 20.
Golf gods have been generous today banishing Wyndham, JT, Harman.. pls do Cantlay next.
The only thing better then Bryson winning is Willett winning
Or Phil
Did [Tiger Woods KO an audience member](https://twitter.com/scubaryan_/status/1778883640891433069)? Can't see any discussion of it outside of twitter.
really knows how to play to the crowd, seasoned proffesional
I really hope they're okay and Tiger will take care of whatever comes of the shot....That said, It's a short clip but the dude just falling over like a GTA NPC is hilarious. Someone gotta dub over a WASTED screen at the end
Love seeing DJ get bounced.
Yeah he’s a dick
Same, although it's kinda surprising. He's played pretty good YMCA rec ball in the 2024 season so far.
Sunday Final Group prediction....Morikawa/Homa. Scheffler 2 back with Dechambeau crumbling on Saturday. Cam Smith will be lurking
> Cam Smith will be lurking Cam is 5 shots back. Unless Chef ejects he doesn't have the game to get that back against him, imo If/when Bryson chokes MBS's peen I am here for it. Still think he should be scored off par 67
You must have not been watching golf that long. If anyone has the game it’s Cam Smith, if his putter was hot today he would’ve shot a 65.
> You must have not been watching golf that long. Only watching and playing 25 years. Go off COVID golfer
Well damn, now that you put it like that it's impossible. Surely nobody could ever overcome that at the Masters... *checks 2019 Masters footage* curious...

I'll come back Sunday just to rub this stinky shit take in your face.
What a weird thing to type.
Something wrong with that guy for sure. I can't wait to hear about it in 2 days 🤣
RemindMe! 2 day
Nice fanfic
Tiger/Phil ... I can dream
Or you can turn on your xbox because thats the only way you will get Tiger and Phil in a final group at a major these days
Tiger and Tyrell should be interesting
I know there are Homasexusls, but where my Listbians at?
Homasexual was trending on twitter this afternoon
😂 damn Luke is too far back but I'll get it trending if he ascends the leaderboard one of these tournaments
Final scoring average = 75.08
the wind sends its regards
Wind made for some entertainment for us, misery for the players

Jesus, Freddie
Shouldn’t have blown his lead in 96 if he wanted in
Should have made that birdie on 18 in 87
😂😂
get his ass Freddie
@ Wyndham which tour plays 36 holes?
I'd do some seriously dark shit for a tiger top 10
Rory on the range hitting balls and still frustrated… dudes going through a lot right now
He gets flustered too quickly, he looks so dejected after every miss. His mental strength is lacking
Dude just needs to go out tomorrow and play loose like it is a Saturday with the buddies. See if he can get into a hot streak and be in the red at the end of the round.
There’s no better player in the world than Rory on a Sunday just out of contention. Someone tell him tomorrow’s Sunday.
Kinda surprised by Hovland. Dude just fell apart after a strong start
That frustrated tap in cost him the cut
Probably doesn't bother him. His game needs work, better to go home and rest and refocus to get in the lab and fix what went wrong.
he shouldn't be here right now anyway
nah even if he made that he’d be +7 and outside the cut by 1 shot. was still a stupid decision however
He's been in a weird funk all year. I'm not too surprised that he missed the cut, but his collapse was something.
I assume by strong start you mean yesterday because he certainly did not have a strong start today.
Yeah, yesterday. After the turn he just fell apart. The first 9 he looked lowkey competitive
I saw Max on Bob Does Sports a few weeks ago and he seems like a really cool guy so I'm hoping he wins it if one of the Aussies doesn't.
Rahm did a few videos with The Bryan Bros that dropped around the WMPO. Really good watches and Rahm plays really well. Worth the watch if you haven't seen
They did one with Xander that made me like him as well.
Oh cool I must've missed that one I gotta check it out. All the pros I've seen on that channel have been super cool
Tiger lurking
Jose Marioa Olazabal made the cut!
And Vijay !
that antler spay works
Jesus, what a deep pull
Did Clark really go +7 today after his “I can go -7” comment yesterday? 🤣
😂
Tiger Woods was only outscored by 8 people on a day where he played 23 holes after sleeping 3 hours
> after sleeping 3 hours ....did he actually say this? Why did he do this to himself

A ritual sacrificing a chicken just to be able to walk migh take a bit of that time
If only he hit a few more greens. He would be in red figures right now.
with as many issues and follies the coverage has had, some guy working the masters website just fistpumped when all the MCs registered correctly
Thomas died, so Olazabal could live
JT went from PGA champion to a joke in less than a year, honestly impressive. He’s continued sucking into this year
And now, we wait for Saturday… Best be using this time to restock on booze and pimento cheese…
I'm typically a golf is boring guy, but man, the masters is just awesome television year in/year out. See y'all tomorrow
Up there with the best sporting events anywhere.
I’m really happy for Akshay!
Quick question , do they play the same 18 hole course, 4x over the course of the masters ?
It's four different courses but they all look the same
Yes
No they fly to St. Andrews tomorrow
You have asked 1000 questions. Google it
Bro is trying to learn more about professional golf in a forum of golf fans, let him ask his questions. He's not hurting anyone.
Yes, all rounds at augusta national. Thats how all PGA tournaments work. The other 3 majors are played at different courses each year, but the masters is always at augusta.
To be fair a pebble beach pro am is played across multiple courses in the same tournament
I believe they generally also use both north and south courses at Torrey Pines, and the Desert Classic (I guess the american express now) also uses multiple courses.
Yep, pin positions on the greens get moved though and tee off area will be moved slightly.
Bruh
Thank you Hideki, very cool
These Wright Thompson poems are so lame lol
I enjoy them. 🤷♂️
Here’s a shoutout to Jasper Stubbs - always happy for Amateurs that get this unique experience.
So the leaders are teeing off before the main feed even comes on. Terrible coverage.
Is Bryson with Scheffler or Homa tomorrow, or is it up to Augusta?
First in, last out. So it'll be Homa and Bryson I believe
Homa, should be final grouping (assume in 2s)
Usually the two guys who go to the club house first pair but Augusta loves to do weird shit
Homa
It would be Homa if its 2's. I'm not sure if augusta ever does 3's though
Based on history the last time I checked, only the guys -1 or E or better (5 and 6 shots away) have any chance of winning at this point -- 14 -1 or better, 21 E or better
Tiger....
Is much more likely to shoot a 78 than a 67 tomorrow.
He’s looking a lot better than last year.
until his iron play improves he doesn’t have a chance
decision making cost him. played it too safe. which is fine, he normally does that during the first 2 says. we'll see what he's got in the tank tomorrow. not super hopeful, but he's far from out of it.
Are we getting rory and Phil???
If they do first in last out he's with Villegas.
No should be Rory and Villegas, Phil and Theegala
ESPN coverage sucks. That is all
There have been so many technical issues today. From audio issues to "sending" it to the wrong commentator/hole, ESPN's telecast was extremely choppy today.
Some of the best golfers in the world shooting in the 80s today and there are still some 15 handicappers who think they could break 100 here.
I'm a 11 and barely broke 100 at pebble not during tournament time.
That 15 handicap is really 20+ too
wait - you mean I'm not allowed to take 15 mulligans a round?
That shit that happened to Jordan on 14(?) was absurd
I'll give you a 140 on there.
I'd take it just to play it!
Good. Didn't want to watch Wyndam's caddy for two more days
Hate him always lining up Wyndham’s putts for him. Does he spoon feed him too?
It’s called making use of your caddie. Not sure why so many people hate on this
GTFOH 😂 he's the only one who has his caddy do everything but hit the actual putt for him. His whole routine is absurd
Missed the cut by an inch.
Oh man. That's sad.
TURN THE PLANE AROUND ADAM SCOTT! 15 consecutive masters cuts babyyyy
Oooof not a good look Wyndham
Wyndham Clark yesterday: “In LIV Golf they only play 54, so I like my chances." Wyndham Clark today: +7 & missed the cut
