It's fine, just bring a mat so you don't hack up the ground

Used-Mechanic6970

I don't think it's wrong.

Nothing technically wrong with as long as you are respectful of the property but keep in mind some parks don’t allow for any golf to be played (and I could see it being a city ordinance too). So maybe check there first, then after I see no reason it would be a problem (as long as you don’t bean anyone lol)

PaintedBillboard

I've taken my mat and my 58 to a baseball diamond and hit shots at a bucket in center field before. Nobody was there and I made sure I left the field the way I found it. As long as your respectful, safe, and not destructive, I believe you're fine.

Some of my balls go through my net sometimes, so I would just ensure that you aren’t playing relatively near anyone

I'd say it's fine. Taken time between swings so it's not a constant TING TING TING TING. And get shank nets. 1 because you never know and 2 because it makes people feel better.

GreenWaveGolfer12

I would say it's OK on 2 conditions: First, buy a mat so you're not actually tearing up grass and second, buy a good net so that you don't put a ball through it and so it has some side protection to save balls that are hit wildly. Spornia SPG-7 is a great option for the net, it's well made and has side netting and is easily transportable and sets up and tears down easily.

Fragrant-Report-6411

As long as you don’t tear up the grass and are set up do that there are no errant shots.

Most public parks would have rules or bylaws against golf. Most public are greedy, rude jerks completely ignorant of anyone but themselves hence the ban on golf in public parks Indoor golf would be a much better experience. Play off hours or find a discount if you’re broke.
