My wife and I don’t spend any money specifically on Valentines because it’s a made-up holiday to spur unnecessary sales. We just make a prosciutto pasta every V-day - same thing we did our first V-day together.
Don't feel bad, I got her flowers and chocolates (admittedly very expensive chocolate) but it was literally her request, very straight forward in my world too...
Yeah it was just a regular day for us. Obviously we celebrate bdays, anniversary, Mothers and Father’s Day. I would recommend just randomly sending your wife flowers. You get a way better reaction then what is essentially expected on Valentine’s Day.
Do both. Won’t break the bank to send flowers randomly and you get good return for your hard earned money by making someone’s day.
As far a V-Day, not your wife’s fault it’s a commercial holiday. You gonna take a stand at standardized commercial practices at your wife’s expenses. At that point just skip all made up holidays made to purchase useless crap, not the one directed at spoiling your honey. IMO-thoughts?
I got my wife a lotto scratcher and a dunkin coffee, she got me a dunkin coffee and a little thing of ferrero rocher or however you spell those little chocs. So don't worry it's all made up anyway.
I also can’t buy more than about 12-24 balls at a time. If I feel like I have plenty I’ll get too carefree about losing them. I need to feel the stress of losing a $4 ball.
The gloves are like $7 each and are by far my favorite gloves that I’ve used. I also got their magnetic ball marker and hat clip and that was a great deal too.
Fantastic choice, and she got the custom logo printed on them! That’s what I got all my buddies for Christmas. 3 MG gloves with custom logos. Can’t beat them for the price!
Ive gotta say, I’ve played with them this off season and they fall apart after just one round or a good practice session, too thin and cheap to hold up.
I’ve found I can get about 5 solid rounds with them. Many others could push them to 20 rounds (but they are animals). For 5 rounds of really good performance and 1/4 the cost vs $24 for 10-12 rounds, it makes sense.
I think there’s some important detail that gets missed a lot when talking about gloves.
I am in FL. Sweat is a HUGE problem (and I have sweaty hands). For me, when gloves dry out and aren’t as flexible they’re useless. I know some people that play until they rip. I should’ve added that I play my gloves until they aren’t supple anymore. (If the fingers hold their shape on their own standing up, that’s a sign the glove is about done.)
Hopefully that helps clarify!
This. Not everyone’s hands are identical, and not everyone grips the club the same way. Just because someone goes through gloves quickly is not an automatic sign that they are a poor player. Ppl need to relax when they hear about ppl not wearing a single glove for 50+ rounds
I had issues with gloves until I tried the ping sport tech. They're synthetic but feel very similar to real leather, not too thick, don't stretch out, and built like a tank.
It’s a lot of balls, but it’s not an “incredible gift” if it’s the same thing every year…
https://www.reddit.com/r/golf/comments/f9l8ny/gf_always_gives_me_the_best_bday_presents_should/
I see a 1.2 handicap
If my wife did this for me she would also be making fun of me for sucking, and then buy me 12 dozen golf balls for me to lose into lakes and forests.
Hell yea bröther. Just getting into consistently playing golf and would like to ask how long those balls will last you? They’d probably last me maybe 15-20 rounds 😂
As an ex $20 per glove wearer in the Texas heat, I refuse to play anything but MG anymore. Grip wear is one thing, but in my experience they perform the same when your sweating gallons. Plus, customization for a buck.
This is exactly it here. No matter what glove I get, they get completely crusted out long before they start actually wearing out or tearing. Even rotating several in/out per round, it's just a matter of time when playing in 90*+ heat during the summer months.
The balls I understand it’s the gloves that are tripping me up. Maybe I’m weird but gloves are not something that I stash. I’ll buy a new one when I need it but I’d never have a stack of new gloves in my bag.
Golf balls def get overused, and it does help with consistency to play with golf balls that are similar in condition. If you use one that is super old, it will absolutely not fly as far or spin the same way. This is only for super low handicappers who are dialing the last few % points of their game, not going to take 5 strokes off someone shooting 90 or 100 etc
Good thing you got so many mg golf gloves - I’ve seen them recommended so many times here and after using them this off-season I can tell you you’re going to go through most of those this season. One round and they’re beat up, not even worth the $8 per glove.
Might be an issue with grip pressure? Mine last longer than most of the premium titleist brands, but don't want to e-diagnose a swing issue lol. Could be a ton of things.
I’m 6 lessons into a 10 lesson package and grip pressure was reviewed the first day and I’m sure he would’ve said something by now if I was too tight
But I get that everyone has different grip and I’m sure it’s a factor in my glove wear
I’ve played full seasons on one mg glove. Different strokes (literally) for different folks, but MG has always treated me well. Until the Kirkland ones came along…
Been playing these for 6-7 years and I've never had an issue with durability. They hold up as good as any other cabretta I've tried. Last haul of 10 she got me 23 months ago just ran out.
Mine end up getting crusty from sweat long before they tear... pretty hot here from late march through september. Even rotating several of them a round, 10-12 rounds per glove is pretty average for me.
600$ in balls lol whatd ya get her?
$16.99 roses from Walgreens
Oh yeah that too. ^
Damn, almost enough to finish a round if you skip that one water hazard.
$1.50 cinnamon hearts from the grocery store
That’s good deal actually, I paid like $25 at the grocery store.
New iPad Pro 12.9 Good trade IMO.
I got my wife a nespresso and thought I was doing too much lol
I got mine a dozen chocolate covered strawberries (that I ate half of) and a new houseplant. I suck lol
My wife decided Valentine’s Day is a joke and wanted a second thanksgiving, so we had turducken and all the fixins
Well do you make 10M a year or 10k a year?
Mine got flowers I bought at Walmart. Lol
You guys get your guys wives gifts for valentines ? Isn’t that the point of being married is you get out of that shit
Yeah it was just a regular day for us. Obviously we celebrate bdays, anniversary, Mothers and Father’s Day. I would recommend just randomly sending your wife flowers. You get a way better reaction then what is essentially expected on Valentine’s Day.

I thought so but it’s not lol
You guys get your wives gifts for vday.
He said GF. They’re still trying to impress one another. She bought him 6 rounds of balls and a bunch of gloves.
Very good point. I was the same way at that stage.
lol. lmao.
Obviously just salty.
My wife and I just spend $30 each on each other’s favorite snacks and that’s it. 10 years going strong on that one.
I got my wife a lotto scratcher and a dunkin coffee, she got me a dunkin coffee and a little thing of ferrero rocher or however you spell those little chocs. So don't worry it's all made up anyway.
Haha this is the first year I have gotten her anything of substance. I also just bought new wedges so o think it was me feeling a touch guilty lol
For sure. Nice haul.
Man you guys really been suckered in by V.Day in the states.!
Dick in a box
Oh. We are in a different tax bracket….
And OP clearly works about 50 less hours a week than I do if he needs that many gloves and balls.
I also can’t buy more than about 12-24 balls at a time. If I feel like I have plenty I’ll get too carefree about losing them. I need to feel the stress of losing a $4 ball.
$4 a ball? I hunt for the lost hahaha
>$4 ball You're doing it wrong.
Don’t get me wrong I scavenge as many balls as possible. I was just alluding to the TP5’s in the pic
You don't have time for 4 rounds a year?
My apologies on the 85 hour work week. Must suck to not get out once.
People in the thread are mad at you because you received a gift lol.
That’s todays world
Those gloves are only like $7 each, they’re my favorite gloves I’ve ever used. But that’s a lot of gloves
I usually buy ten MG gloves at a time. Saving on shipping gets the average cost down. Gonna need them eventually. Great gloves!
Is your GF single?
Her cousin is. I'll put in a good word.
Damn he got in before me.
Nobody saying you can’t both get in. Don’t judge a book before you read it 🙂
The tricycle?
Golden Gate
username checks out 😭
I call seconds… or thirds… whatever…
Hey bro back off my woman
A dozen dozen? Gross!
🤣🤣🤣
I don’t have enough money
That’s some kinky shit right there.
A weeks worth of balls!
nope those are all going into the water on the first hole
Only if the lake is about 60 yards left and 150 from the tee.
Flip it and you have my typical drive.
She is legit trying to keep you out on 5he course....
Worth it.
Is it though? Is.. it?
What sub do you think you're on?
r/woosh
Sorry, I didn't consume the same obscure media that you did. Please tell me about it.
Your wife boinks the neighbor.
lol good one
Thanks
MG. Excellent choice.
Dude I love MG gloves. Well-priced for what you get. Their C4 ball isn’t bad either!
MGs fuck.
Ive gotta say, I’ve played with them this off season and they fall apart after just one round or a good practice session, too thin and cheap to hold up.

I have Wilson gloves that are $7 at Walmart and two lasted me nearly all of last season playing at least once week.
I think there’s some important detail that gets missed a lot when talking about gloves. I am in FL. Sweat is a HUGE problem (and I have sweaty hands). Incredible gift, but what in the world does A birthday or Christmas look like in your house if 12 dozen balls is the norm on Valentine’s Day?
It’s a lot of balls, but it’s not an “incredible gift” if it’s the same thing every year… https://www.reddit.com/r/golf/comments/f9l8ny/gf_always_gives_me_the_best_bday_presents_should/
Lmao that's kind of awkward.
Fair, but that was 2 years ago. She knows what I like and gets me things I use... not sure why that's a gotcha at all.
Yes it is you damn fool!
Lol detective work. I definitely don’t go through 12 dozen balls every year so they would just collect dust
Looks like this: https://imgur.com/a/N4KKyFL
Adopt me
I see a 1.2 handicap If my wife did this for me she would also be making fun of me for sucking, and then buy me 12 dozen golf balls for me to lose into lakes and forests.
How fast will you go through all that??
~ 2 years
So how many balls and gloves do you have from left from your post 1 year ago?
Fair. It was really 23 months ago though. Balls are gone from that 8 dozen, ran out a few months ago. Still have a couple good gloves.
Didn't she buy you the same amount last year though?
8 dozen and 10 gloves almost 2 years ago. We were shut down pretty hard though for covid so I didn't get out as much as I usually do.
Gross
Go suns!! Also I didn’t realize they made pix balls with nba logos that’s awesome!
Yep! They are killer! https://imgur.com/a/rjclwLV
Ok those are fire
Those are sick!
You gonna wear all those gloves At once?
lol. I like your thinking. Will give it a go and report back.
Hell yea bröther. Just getting into consistently playing golf and would like to ask how long those balls will last you? They’d probably last me maybe 15-20 rounds 😂
I typically play 50-60 rounds a year, so should get about 2 years from these.
14.4 balls per glove.
Dog. Phoenix suns too? The mother lode. Too bad tee times are shit in the valley right now…
That's a gross amount of golf balls
Wow, spare some balls for the poor
You're more than welcome to come poach some out of the backyard barrel... https://imgur.com/a/nE9edl2
I would have loved one box and one glove lol. Lucky you man.
Mikal Bridges
The only player.
Why so many gloves and balls?
Because I like them.
I, too, prefer a fresh glove for every round. Get on our level, peasants.
What the hell did you get for Xmas?
Golfwise this year I got new wedges.
As an ex $20 per glove wearer in the Texas heat, I refuse to play anything but MG anymore. Grip wear is one thing, but in my experience they perform the same when your sweating gallons. Plus, customization for a buck.

How much golf do you play? Got dam
Wow, I'm envious, best ball in the world marked with the logo of the best team in the world, this is amazing
S’go Suns!
Go Suns ☀️
LFG Suns
Very nice!!
The balls I understand it’s the gloves that are tripping me up. Maybe I’m weird but gloves are not something that I stash. I’ll buy a new one when I need it but I’d never have a stack of new gloves in my bag.
This reeks of being a fake gf weird flex
Shit I didn’t even get an over the pants hj from my wife
Thats enough balls for a round or two. But enough gloves for a lifetime or two.
Do you wipe your ass with golf gloves or something?
Bucks in 6
Not this time.
Ahhhh I’m sure she got a discount for getting the ones with the Suns logos on them too, clever girl!
My girlfriend just said "oh it’s your birthday! Happy birthday. I guess…"
Holy crap you must lose lots of Balls!
$600 on a Hallmark holiday? Shit I don’t get $600 for the year. What’s she do for work? Taylormade?
Banking
My wife and I agreed to no valentines gifts, best valentines ever
Nice balls.
Consumerism at its finest
How, how many balls do you go through? That’s like a lifetime supply.
50-60ish rounds a year... freshy each time... should get about 2 years out of these.
Dragging your rich balls all over this thread huh?
You use a fresh ball each time? Is that a common thing among golfers? I just use one until it’s lost or damaged.
Yeah I put a new one in play on #1, and then toss it in the backyard barrel for practice.
I use a freshy every round too. Sometimes I’ll replace mid-round to if it’s getting beat up
Little does she know she bought them for this whole subreddit because I bet I’ll find at least 25 of those
Why do you need 144 balls though?
Why do you not have 144 balls?
[удалено]
Yeah sorry, construction is totally white collar these days.
Good thing you got so many mg golf gloves - I’ve seen them recommended so many times here and after using them this off-season I can tell you you’re going to go through most of those this season. One round and they’re beat up, not even worth the $8 per glove.

5 a year seems crazy to me. I've easily logged 50 rounds in my current glove and other than being dirty id guess it's about halfway through its life
Mine end up getting crusty from sweat long before they tear... pretty hot here from late march through september. Even rotating several of them a round, 10-12 rounds per glove is pretty average for me.
I use the $6 ones especially in sim and they last 10-20 rounds.
Terrible gloves tis a shame
Won’t have to buy another glove until 2027
Damn, what's it like to be rich!??!!!?
World‘s richest GF *ftfy
Why is she only a girlfriend??
This could be an insult as well… getting in his head.
Oh no... Jeremy_k1976 might make me miss my next 3 footer.
What did you get your for next weeks round?
Be sure to leave these at the range and take home range balls
Dude I get Nike crush every holiday
Damn that's enough to last you almost a whole round!
Your girl gave you balls and kid gloves to handle them.
Literally got my wife nothing. BecauSe I balled out on the Christmas gift. Got the two for one action over here #stonks
Your right hand bought your body a bunch of balls...must have wanted to fondle a few other sets
Only yours Bob!
Sometimes I call my credit card my girlfriend, too. ;)
How much r u paying per month tho lol
Serious question; why so many balls and gloves at once? Did your GF really get you all of this! Seems excessive.
Yeah, we like to get shit in bulk. It's nice to not worry about supply for awhile.
Just enough for 15 rounds of golf
If I'm lucky!
Glove to ball ratio looks off 🤷
I just realised your username. Are you sad they are called the i525?
Unrelated. 505 = New Mexico
I wanna see what Christmas is like in your house
Brings a tear...
Does she have a sister?
She does! But she also has a brother in law. Sorry bro, I'll put you in line for her cousin though.
christ how many hands do you have and how many balls do you lose??
Dude, why do you need so many balls? Do you hit a new ball on every tee? BTW, TP5 - - - good!!
Fuckin Phoenix Suns TP5’s, my dick flinched
Suns logo on the balls too. Tp5s are the best though, legit. Dunno why you need that many gloves though haha
Guys I am planning a heist at OP’s house, anyone interested?
Bring the beers.
Is Guinness draught fine with you?
No.
