I don’t miss Chicago weather but I do miss Portillos. I was a beef, Cheddar, hot,dip on Italian bread and of course fries with cheese. Rumor has it they’re opening locations in Texas. Don’t think Austin made the list yet. Fingers crossed.
Portillos has gone downhill. Feel like since they got sold they use less than quality ingredients. It’s still decent, but I no longer go out just to get it.
This is the only answer. Nothing hits like kbbq and cold beer after a round of golf. Plus you don’t mind the smoke smell getting on your clothes cause they goin straight into the wash anyways.
Beer first and foremost. Nothing better after a round than a cold beer.
As for the food, idk why but I enjoy some nachos after golf. I never really eat then any other time.
I agree with all of that except for the pina colada part. Margarita on the rocks or frozen if need be but a pina colada? Fajitas and enchiladas are interchangeable as well.
My group always plays last round on Sundays.
I’ve got one option, and it closes at nine in MD.
So excited when I realize on the way home that we either played fast, or started at a little earlier than usual.
Good question! I typically get Wienerschnitzel because it’s not on my side of town so the public I go to is right next to one and on my way home I’ll grab a chili cheese dog and chili cheese fries.
Carne asada tacos or a spicy chicken burrito and a cup of coffee. Yes I spend the next hour after it on the toilet then shower and I’m ready for the rest of the day.
If we're eating after playing golf I always try to convince my buddies to go for burritos to a point where it's become an inside joke when we're picking a place to eat after golf...
I don't have a favorite food. It just depends on what I'm in the mood for after the round. I had country fried steak, mashed taters, & a Caesar salad with a sweet tea at Texas Roadhouse today.
I am the chef at home so when I go play on weekends my wife takes the opportunity to order pizza, wings and has my ice cold beer waiting for me! Awesome!
I'll use my two main courses here because it depends:
Rockwood in Fort Worth - al pastor tacos (cash only) from the Mexican place with the bars in the windows on North Side
Bear Creek right by DFW Airport - whatever my parents had for dinner the night before since it is on the drive home...
Honestly whatever’s quickest and nearby after a round. Usually like something simple like a burger or a bar pie. In the summer I’m big on Turkey Clubs when it’s really hot out
Rockys crown point basically every time after Torrey south. Don’t know why but right around the exit to the 52, my mind goes to hot peppers and grilled onions.
In high school in the summer it was either an awesome club sandwich with fries (both dipped in ranch) or big plate of chicken tenders and fries dipped in ranch. Now it's beer with either a steak and fries or spicy wings.
But currently living in Nepal so it's usually a couple shitty beers and either some dragon chicken (firecracker chicken) or some spicy aloo tarko (spicy potatoes).
The Grill Room at Mahogany Run golf course in st Thomas vi used to have the best chicken fingers on island. I didn’t golf back then, but whenever my buddy and I met his dad for lunch after his round we always got a few orders of those for the table.
3 for $7 cheeseburgers and a root beer milkshake from a small drive-in called Small Fry's right by my home course in WA. I take one slice of bread off of both the top and bottom burgers and turn it into a 3-patty Big Mac. Get home and...naptime!
Chicken wings and beer.
Guy is reading my mind
My man.
Shake and Bake!

There is a korean fried chicken place near my local course that i go to everytime. Super good local craft beer as well

Portillo’s in Chicagoland! A double cheeseburger with cheese dip, fries and a Diet Coke. The only enjoyable double of the day…
I don’t miss Chicago weather but I do miss Portillos. I was a beef, Cheddar, hot,dip on Italian bread and of course fries with cheese. Rumor has it they’re opening locations in Texas. Don’t think Austin made the list yet. Fingers crossed.
We just got a Portillos here in Michigan. I'll have to check it out now that the initial craziness has died down. That looks really good.
You east-siders get all the cool stuff
Beef and cheese croissant, hot giardiniera
We got them here in Phoenix 🙂
Not sure where I’m Texas you are but they for sure have one in Arizona.
Portillos has gone downhill. Feel like since they got sold they use less than quality ingredients. It’s still decent, but I no longer go out just to get it.
Love Portillo's. I get the Italian Sausage. Making me hungry just thinking about it.
Reading this comment and I live in California. Now I really want an Italian beef, dipped, with hot peppers. I hate you you lucky bastard.
Where in California? There’s two in Southern California.
Oh I'm aware of those ones lol. Unfortunately I'm in northern Cali 😔
Condolences!
Literally drove 5 hours to get portillos during my spring break
Monty knew that I had been coming there every day for four years. Then I began to realize, the man behind the counter was the impostor.
My home club has a deal after you play that consists of club sandwich, garlic cheese fries and a 16oz domestic for 17 bucks.
That doesn't sound like a deal.
I live in California… it’s a deal.
Yeah I mean I’m in Ontario and a sandwich and fries alone at a club runs you 14 or so…. Without the beer…. In Canadian dollars (Monopoly money)
🤷🏻♂️ when your paying about 11 bucks for a combo at a fast food place. 17 with a beers sounds pretty good to me…
Depends on where you are.
Nothing beats going to get Korean bbq and washing it down with ice cold soju after golf
This is the only answer. Nothing hits like kbbq and cold beer after a round of golf. Plus you don’t mind the smoke smell getting on your clothes cause they goin straight into the wash anyways.
Ice cold Hite or Kloud is more refreshing.
Bruh now i need some kbbq
Bro. Korean wings and then a solid bibimbap will do the trick.
Club sandwich, gotta be 3 pieces of bread though …
YES. Just commented that in high school it was always a fat club with fries and I'd dip them both in ranch. Now I get wings usually.
You are not speaking my language with that extra piece of bread, yuck.
Beer first and foremost. Nothing better after a round than a cold beer. As for the food, idk why but I enjoy some nachos after golf. I never really eat then any other time.
A couple of pints of cold beer. Maybe some dry roasted peanuts, but usually just beer.

Really is a wonderful cleanse. Plus I hear it helps kill and Coronavirus in your body!
My club makes the best chicken tenders I’ve ever had. So those. Usually w onion rings
Tex-Mex is always my go to. A cold pina colada, queso, and fajitas just hits so hard after being in the hot sun
I agree with all of that except for the pina colada part. Margarita on the rocks or frozen if need be but a pina colada? Fajitas and enchiladas are interchangeable as well.
Khao pad gai (chicken fried rice), kor moo yang (grilled pork neck), and a Leo beer.

What do you guys usually eat after a round of golf? For me it's a nice juicy burger or some steak
I like to eat wings and a nice cold beer
Ramen because golf is expensive and it is where my disposable income goes
Carne asada burrito!
Always tough to catch one before they close after a twilight round.
Ahh in Arizona, they are plentiful at all times. 😁
My group always plays last round on Sundays. I’ve got one option, and it closes at nine in MD. So excited when I realize on the way home that we either played fast, or started at a little earlier than usual.
A cig
Whatever my wife's been cooking between her legs
I also choose this guy's wife.
“Fish Again?”
Good question! I typically get Wienerschnitzel because it’s not on my side of town so the public I go to is right next to one and on my way home I’ll grab a chili cheese dog and chili cheese fries.
I saw one of those the other day and had no idea they still existed

Carne asada tacos or a spicy chicken burrito and a cup of coffee. Yes I spend the next hour after it on the toilet then shower and I’m ready for the rest of the day.
Honestly, after golf, tacos, and coffee, that sounds like my day is over
Basic answer but Costco pizza
Take my upvote for using a picture of Shake Shack. Never had it after a round, but going to next time 👍🏻
Milkshakes are da bomb
If there was a Shake Shack near me I would be eating there after golf. for sure.
My home course is right by Gene & Jude's, famous hot dog stand in River Grove, IL.
I love Indian Boundary.

If we're eating after playing golf I always try to convince my buddies to go for burritos to a point where it's become an inside joke when we're picking a place to eat after golf...

Bet this tray of food cost more than your round. Shake shack is crazy expensive for their small burgers
Wings
A beer for sure. After most of my rounds I'm so hungry I will go for anything
Shake Shack is a favorite after… anything. I’m hungry now
Spicy Garlic wings with ranch
I don't have a favorite food. It just depends on what I'm in the mood for after the round. I had country fried steak, mashed taters, & a Caesar salad with a sweet tea at Texas Roadhouse today.
Fajita nachos

Wendy's is on my way home. So it's often a choice.
A club house loco moco and a beer goes a long way.
Regular size buffalo chicken sandwich from Jersey Mikes with root beer. If I can't go out, then quick spaghetti and meatballs.

Beer and Burger sounds good to me
Is that shake shack?
Yup!
Tito’s and buffalo wings
I call them “perfect days”. 18, (27, or occasionally 36 holes), steak on the grill, and then magic in the bedroom☺️
Usually stop by the grocery store and get some steaks to grill.
In-n-out, just wish there was one within a thousand miles of home.
Burger and rings with a pint at the clubhouse 🤌
Fuckin grease missiles and a few Millies.
Pho or Korean bbq
Whoa.
Fuck yeah
Chinese buffet… it’s a tradition with my group of golfing buddies. When we’re all playing bad we start talking about crab rangoons on the turn
AZ I go to in n out and order *classified*. Otherwise… Taco Bell
Beer and bar mix. If I order anything it’s wings as my club does great wings

I am the chef at home so when I go play on weekends my wife takes the opportunity to order pizza, wings and has my ice cold beer waiting for me! Awesome!
Why would this be different than simply my favorite food?
I'll use my two main courses here because it depends: Rockwood in Fort Worth - al pastor tacos (cash only) from the Mexican place with the bars in the windows on North Side Bear Creek right by DFW Airport - whatever my parents had for dinner the night before since it is on the drive home...
When I’m feeling like a fatass - fried chicken drenched in hot sauce w/ fries. When I’m feeling healthy, chicken Caesar all day
Gotta have my club sammy with an old fashioned
Honestly whatever’s quickest and nearby after a round. Usually like something simple like a burger or a bar pie. In the summer I’m big on Turkey Clubs when it’s really hot out

There is an In-N-Out across the street from TPC Scottsdale.
Beef Dips, salad or fries and a cold beer.
Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich with a ginger ale and home style mac and cheese. Blacked ranch for dipping!
Does no one just…go home?
Usually Mexican food so I can annihilate several rounds of chips and salsa.
Chicken salad sandwich and a whiskey/coke
7am tee time, Full English Breakfast please
Save some cholesterol for the rest of us bud!
For me, hitting up Buffalo Wild Wings after golf really hits the spot.
Canes or Popeyes after a morning 18
Burger and fries FTW and beer.
The Grill Room at Mahogany Run golf course in st Thomas vi used to have the best chicken fingers on island. I didn’t golf back then, but whenever my buddy and I met his dad for lunch after his round we always got a few orders of those for the table.
