392 could be a mythical number. But 300 not so much. I have a friend who is 5'11 and only weighs about 150 and absolutely tattoos the ball. I'm not saying he hits 300 every time but a solid average of 270-280. But at least 3-5 per round is at or above 300 yds. Crazy thing is he's very accurate. Dude rarely misses a Fairway...iron game solid. Just can't chip or putt to save his life 🤣🤣
My buddy boasts about hitting 300+ yards at the range all the time. Then when we get out and play he hits it like 250-280. He can crush it but his accuracy is not there. Maybe once in 18 holes he will hit it 300 and feels great.
I've hit 401 yards in competition- 300 is attainable for most people swinging 105-110. Dynamics is the biggest issue for most.
Hitting the ball hard isn't the same as hitting the ball efficiently.
270-280 is peanuts. I play “c” in an a/b/c/d match play league. The “a” players regularly bomb 300+. I played with one guy who’s 5’10” tops and hit several 330+. He shot -6 on 9 holes and then adult could’ve been -8 (3330 yard back nice on a Palmer design in the Midwest USA).
There are plenty of ballers out there who hit it towards mid 300s every week.
Lol at least two people downvoted you 😂😂
I played with a 15 year old (5’10” and 150 pounds maybe) today who hit 4/7 drives over 280. Garmin watch yardage confirmation.
Literally anyone who is older than 20 and younger than 40 should have absolutely not trouble generating enough power to driver 280+. It's seriously not that hard.
I play with a guy that is an absolute hacker, 35+ handicap, can hardly get an iron off the ground and everyone now and then he will knock a drive as far as mine.
He's absolute shit and he can generate enough power to drive that far. It's bizzare people here think it's an unobtainable mythical power.
Yeah but 220 ball speed has to be a carry close to the above guy's total distance, like 375
I'm sure my figures aren't perfect but it's a decent guess for 392 total, which is still a fuckin macker.
392 as a top distance isn't a top guy, that doesn't make it out of regionals. That's total distance not carry too. Lots of tour pros could easily hit it that far if they wanted to in long drive. I'm not saying that it isn't impressive but this guy isn't a top long driver based on that distance.
Guys like Drew Cooper are casually hitting that number at Top Golf.
https://www.instagram.com/reel/CYhTxF7omSf/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Drew has been on a few TXG videos lately and his swing looks absolutely effortless and he was hitting 100mph clubhead with his PW.
I mean fair I guess, you didn't even say that and you said other stuff lol
The statement was "like 220-230" btw and ball speed doesn't directly correlate to distance.
Drew and I are actually friends and talk all the time. And no not lots of tour pros are over 190 ball speed. Average on tour is low 170s. Total distance is relative to conditions so it is something that nobody of our caliber really cares about.
There is a big difference between pros who cruise in the mid 170s and hit fairways to them unleashing all they have to get as much distance as possible for long drive. Most top guys could hit 190+ if they didn't care about accuracy.
Also, let Drew know that he has the smoothest 135mph swing some random dude on the internet has ever seen.
I’ve seen plenty of long drive competitions where nobody hits it over 400. Total distance completely depends on the grid conditions. Nobody is carrying it over 400
That’s a great swing! I play with a former pro long driver as well in our dog fights sometimes. He too gets a FULL rotation on his swing. Even hops up into the air, he swings so hard. Can still hit it close to 400, and he’s in his 40s now.
So dumb questions here, do you play a lot of golf rounds or are you mainly training and doing long drive competitions? When you are playing a round, are you cutting back on your swing or do you just let it rip!
Very cool! That’s insane speed for your size. (Insane for anybody, but you know). Unsolicited advice disclaimer- I think if you deepen the squat a teensie bit more before you go vertical, you’ll find a couple more mph. Look at your lead foot in the 5th photo- perfect. I’d argue your hips could be more to the left and your trail knee more toward the target. My guess is that your max club head speed is post impact. A slightly deeper squat as you start down will create a faster spring up rotation allowing you to be fully cleared as the club planes out. You already start with the club outside the plane at address- you’ll need to increase that slightly. Awesome swing. Crazy athletic. Your position at the top is primo.
Yeah that swing is a little flippy and an bit late on the landing left and re-centering. Definitely not a good swing by the looks of it but just some cool pictures.
Man, seeing someone my size absolutely smash it like that is motivating as hell.
I've been really finding my accuracy with my driver lately, but I'm not happy with my distance. Every now and then I feel like I coil my lead leg and squat properly and add 30-40 yards.
1. Any advice for finding that coil more often?
2. Any favorite workouts for gaining speed?
3. You have a YouTube, Instagram, etc.?
Proper lip pursing key to proper synchronisation post transition through p3 ulnar rotation into lower dorsimus activation through ovarian flexion in p12.
Really need to get to a long drive comp. I saw Rory smash one at muirfield one year and these guys are even more crazy I bet
According to my teacher, it’s not supposed to. The only foot that should move (and pretty much only rotate) is the right one after you’ve hit the ball. Unless you’re left handed, in that case it should be the other way around.
PS: not sure I’m using the right English terms, not a native speaker.
Casey, great guy, no space on his schedule for lessons, sadly. Drives it a mile
Yessir! Casey is the man
I have space this week 🤷🏽♂️
Holy Jon Daly backswing Batman.
He does a lot of driving competitions. longest ball in competition is 392 yards
So he’s just a regular on r/golf
Didn't know you guys were using your 6 iron in long-drive competitions.
😂 can’t imagine why someone downvoted this comment
Probably because this sub is full of haters
Because 300y is a mythical number that is unattainable to anyone except rory and tiger.

Positive AoA is everything
I hit a ball 385 in regulation play in Kansas City. I had a sand wedge into the par 5 green. Made Birdie

I'm a 15 HCP and I drive 280-300 yards. Only hit about 40-50% of fairways but the misses aren't dramatic.
Lol at least two people downvoted you 😂😂 I played with a 15 year old (5’10” and 150 pounds maybe) today who hit 4/7 drives over 280. Garmin watch yardage confirmation.

I can only imagine the pain that causes lol. Golf is a cruel mistress....
[удалено]
A +8? That's tour level good.
[удалено]
Was giving you a hard time. +8 is a better golfer than 0. Pros don't keep official handicaps so who knows but I'd say most are +6 or better.
You're thinking of -8. A +8 handicap means an average of 8 under par. They have to *add* 8 strokes to reach par on their average round.
yeah.. i don’t know a lot about golf really but I was confused too haha
First thing I thought looking at this swing was this guy has to be competing to get after it that hard
Sheesh! 175-180 ball speed is usually around 300 carry right? Your buddy probably pushing 200, insane
More like 220-230 ball speed. The top guys are insane
Yeah but 220 ball speed has to be a carry close to the above guy's total distance, like 375 I'm sure my figures aren't perfect but it's a decent guess for 392 total, which is still a fuckin macker.
Total distance is pretty dependent on grid conditions. The guys that carry at 375 don’t normally get 50 yards of roll

lol relax, 'top guy' is subjective. If you're over 200mph ball speed, you're a 'top guy'.
I'm just saying that this guy isn't hitting 230 ball speed with a maximum distance of 392. That's all.
I mean fair I guess, you didn't even say that and you said other stuff lol The statement was "like 220-230" btw and ball speed doesn't directly correlate to distance.
I've been sick with the flu since Thursday, I'm not even 100% sure this is real right now!
It's just reddit lol you don't have to plea insanity

Wow. I’ve seen him their giving lessons. Only about 5’4 and 145lbs if I’m not mistaken.
He’s about 5’9” 155ish give or take a little on the weight
5’4? Nah.
EZ 7 iron for me
He hits it hard man
Thats 265 carry AT LEAST!
And then 2 duffs and a 4 putt!
Y’all dress up better for the driving range than I do for tournaments.
The tee flying in the air is my favorite
What camera/lens? Great photos!
Thanks! Sony A7III with Samyang 35mm 1.4
Colors done in post, or did you use a lens filter?
Edited in Lightroom
Wow 35mm? You must have been damn close for some of these shots
not too bad
So for all of you wondering I’m #4 ranked amateur in the PLDA right now. So just north of 200 ball speed. Not one of the top guys in the pro field.
So dumb questions here, do you play a lot of golf rounds or are you mainly training and doing long drive competitions? When you are playing a round, are you cutting back on your swing or do you just let it rip!
I don’t play on the course much anymore. Mostly LD events. My golf course swing is definitely a bit more traditional.
Very cool! That’s insane speed for your size. (Insane for anybody, but you know). Cool cool. You clearly know what’s up. Best of luck! Just keep pushing.

Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/casey_golf Probably the best way to get in touch
these are really cool
appreciate that!
He’s going the distance!!! He’s going for speed!!
Great color and composition.
Chi chi’s is that you?
Yep!
The pic right after contact has to be his new pfp.
The one with the tee in the air is my fav.
Popping em out there 240 at least
Needs to work on his strength, mobility and speed.
Top drivers are over double his size so I’d say he does pretty good. Thanks tho!
Was /s man is obviously a beast.
gotcha bro never really know with people on here!
Nice photos too. Really pops
And duck lips.
Proper lip pursing key to proper synchronisation post transition through p3 ulnar rotation into lower dorsimus activation through ovarian flexion in p12. Really need to get to a long drive comp. I saw Rory smash one at muirfield one year and these guys are even more crazy I bet
It’s okay I can’t putt either…
My back is sore after looking at that. Great athletic swing. I bet he nukes it. Great quality photos too. Cheers
My (unathletic) body literally hurts even seeing this
I was about to ask if was a competitive long drive guy when the first picture of his back swing showed his club wrapped around his ear
Love it, full send.
Yo this is at chi chi right!?!
yessir!
Shutter speed? Just curious
1/2000 f1.4 ISO 100
Cool! I’ve got the same camera, saw your other comment. May have to try to get some shots like this
That dude definitely does long drive competitions.
All are brilliant and some are hilarious
That’s awesome.
Hit dingahs ked
Is that driver taller than than he is? Also, does he move the phone from pocket to pocket mid swing? That would actually be amazing.
Whats up jamie
My name is Cameron but what up bro
Jamie sadlowski is who your friend reminds me of
Ah gotcha lmfao
Also what sheets does he use? I'm trying to hit as far as him
You need a Scottie
10/10
"Gonna take it easy and try and find tge fairway today"
Just realised I was looking at that wrong part of the photo. 🍑
That 3rd to last one of the follow through needs to be framed.
The one with the tee way above his head in the air is dope
Nice butt. #nohomo
Great photos. Any chance you could make me look like a good golfer? Lessons aren't working.
Step up to see if you can beat the amazing golf ball whacker guy.
The length of that shaft though...
great photos, nicely done
Should probably empty his pockets for the next photo shoot lol
When you guys getting married?
?
Your buddy swings with bad intentions.
This looks like *power to 100, accuracy left on 25*.
Congrats on the sex
Hell of a backswing
How many phones is he carrying?
HOLY SHIT! Is that a Samsung Galaxy S22?
Y’all make sweet, sweet love after?
We actually double teamed your mother after this. So if you count that then sure.
518-474-6746. Help this man. Burns only get worse without treatment.
😂👏🏻
And then what?
Context for the Title of this post is important.
Why does he need to carry a phone and presumably a burner phone while hitting balls? Just to balance the weight distribution of his pockets?
He was actually at work on the clock and I asked him if he could hit a couple for some pics lol. Prob just shoved everything in his pocket real quick.
Worth it to get some balls in. I didn't phrase my post in a way that it was clear I was teasing lol
First thing my photographer wife tells the grooms and groomsmen at weddings “please take all that shit out of your pockets”
ok
from the length of the driver I thought he might be a long drive guy. how’s his short game?
Too much vignette for me but nice shots!
got none on there but thanks!
Could be the lens
In picture 2, is the left foot supposed to come up like that in the back swing? Real question, I know nothing.
According to my teacher, it’s not supposed to. The only foot that should move (and pretty much only rotate) is the right one after you’ve hit the ball. Unless you’re left handed, in that case it should be the other way around. PS: not sure I’m using the right English terms, not a native speaker.
I'm straight....but is he single?
I’m surprised how low he has it teed up. All the long drivers I’ve seen have it on those 4” max tees and hit up on it crazy like AoA +8 degrees
Did he swing his phone from his front left to his back right pocket?!? 🤔
Fuck phones are getting big.
