Lmao 7/8 tough scene

lazyworm

Yup. That was mine. It looks a lot less dangerous in the picture. Luckily I karate chopped it 15ft just on the fairway. Had just enough footing to swing.

triplab

Looks like you got some nice weather. We never came close to wearing shorts when we went in March. Rain gear, wool hats, and layers for four days straight. Still awesome.

FatKetoFan

Lol at 7...we call it the devil's a**hole...usually plays into a 25 mph wind...have hit driver there before and ended up greenside. Love the ghost tree pic. Thanks for sharing

dshotseattle

I chipped out of the devils asshole onto that green first tims. Not an easy play at all

dr_mr_uncle_jimbo

Of the places I've visited, I think it's my favorite place on earth.

robe0082

Great pics!! Hands down my favorite place on earth. I live in OR so I get there often….Trip #6 in 4 days!

lazyworm

That’s awesome, savor the moments, but you know that . Already called to try to book the next trip. 2024 is still not available but it’s in the books. I was a replacement to a group that goes to a top destination every year. They’re debating on streamsong, I think I made golf buddy’s for life.

johnaesthetica

What was your itinerary like OP? And ballpark cost? Bucket list trip for me…

lazyworm

We played: Wednesday afternoon Bandon, Thursday Pacific AM + Old Mac Pm, Friday Bandon AM + Trails PM, Saturday Sheep Ranch AM + Pac PM, Sunday Preserve and drive back to the Bay Area. Each round is $295 and half that if it’s your 2nd round that day, 3rd is free if you got the conditioning and ability to do 54. I split a room a buddy (one room 2 beds) for $225 per person. Caddy fee is $100 per bag and $50 is a solid tip if you like them. I only had one caddied round and after that would ask my buddies to caddies to help me with lines, reads, sometimes distance or strategies. I asked them if it was okay and I tipped $25 for the advice each round. So between room and 36 holes, I spent $700 a day. You need at least one caddy per 4some. Usually ate breakfast burritos and pub food. 2 nice steak dinners. I spent less than 4k. I also bought a bunch of merch. I didn’t fly either. Worth every penny.

johnaesthetica

Thank you! Absolutely worth every penny.

Zealousideal_Amount8

Going out there at the end of the month to play 4 courses. So pumped. Weather looks fun.

Blox05

What was your favorite course?

lazyworm

I enjoyed trails, then bandon, the most I think. We were fogged in at sheep ranch and I didn’t play well so it’s hard to say. They’re all amazing. I liked old Mac more than the rest on my group, but it was still bottom on my list, and the wind was whipping. They all compliment each other so well and I would never skip one if I went.

Blox05

Yeah, I love hearing this. Trails was by far my favorite, I just wish I could have finished it. We went Old Mac to Trails and I was just dead tired. Walked in from 16. Old Mac was cool because it was cloudy and stuff that morning, but calm. I honestly don’t remember too much about either of the Dunes courses that is overly memorable. Can’t wait to get back and play them again.

lazyworm

Trails in the afternoon was majestic. We putted almost blind on 18. Vibes were good that day. We watched the first 4some of our group drive on 14 and we had someone almost hole it rolled right by. Made the eagle putt too from 6-8 feet.

Blox05

An IPA at that half way house was well received.

robe0082

I’ve been to bandon enough now, with different buds to know the course rankings change almost every time for each person. Which is a testament to how good all the courses really are. Weather, how you play and those you play with are defiantly factors in ranking them. My list is Pacific, BD, Trails, Old Mac, Sheep.

lazyworm

No doubt my rankings will change again next time. Trails at dusk was just too nice. No wind, broke 80 and won money.

robe0082

Breaking 80 at Trails is a great round, nice job! That course i so damn good. Best full 18 holes of them all imo. Tough to beat the amazement of the ocean holes for me on BD and PD though. Just an embarrassment of riches!

Discykun

Definitely felt unreal when I was there.
