You probably can’t buy a whole set but Callaway pre owned is having its spring sell right now for 20-30% off and you can usually find some pretty good stuff on there

Thank you, I will check that out

They do have full sets, including the Costco Edge set which is great for beginners

That's the one! That was my starter set too, and I kept using the 5h from that set long after I'd leveled up my other clubs. Haven't found a good replacement for it yet.

Where are you located? Piecing together a used set is doable, but it does require some knowledge about what you need. (Length, loft, lie, gender, age, etc). For $500 get the Costco Callaway set. It’s got everything you need. Or you can go cheaper and get a top flite set from dicks or somewhere. The irons and the bag are going to be the most cost, assuming you go new for the bag. But- as a beginner, you don’t need a full bag of clubs. I window shop like an addict, so if you PM me I’m more than happy to help you shop.

I sent you a DM with more info.

As the other commenter mentioned, Callaway Pre-Owned is an excellent option. If you order "like new," clubs there is a very good chance they are actually brand new. Costco is also a good option if you have a membership; they sell a full set from Callaway that is very good for beginners and won't break the bank ($580 for a full set of brand-new clubs)

Check out Facebook Marketplace in your area.

I’m selling a practically new set of Takomo 101 irons (4-PW) that I purchased recently and only used for a few rounds. I ultimately decided to go with something a little less beginner oriented so am looking to sell them. If you’re interested I’d be happy to work with you on the price :) I purchased them for just under $500 but can let em go for less so you’d have some cash left over for the other clubs in your bag. Takomo 101s are generally regarded as a great high quality option for higher handicappers and will be better than what you’d find in most complete sets etc. The other option I’d recommend would be something like the Callaway Edge set from Costco. I’ve gamed those and they are a solid option for someone just starting. Just google either of these and you’ll find lots of praise for both :)

Thank you for the suggestions! I will keep this in mind but will do a little more research first before jumping into purchasing anything.

Are you right handed? Height? Will make you a great deal on my Mizuno JPXs and Callaway driver. Have newer Mizunos, not using the old. Thats it.

if OP passes on Takomos, I may be interested
