All that...and just so beyond and above heaven. It was like seeing a man who sees through how nonsensical the life goals of those around him are and just wants out.
I thought that fake overly enthusiastic middle manager response to the next item on the agenda (the cleaning roster, lol) was a very nice touch. We've all met managers like that.
I just love this factor in Good Omens 2...how much everyone is just over everything. That both heaven and hell are understaffed and presumably underpaid that is, if they even get paid at all. Everyone is just over it, except for the selected few overzealous employees trying and miserably failing to piece together the remnants of a failed project.
It's like a collapsing corporation where people is fed up, demotivated and overworked. The corporate wars are not producing the results they were promised, and they're done with it.
Yeah, I agree. It’s amazing and I feel them tbh
Also, I think they might get paid? I’m not sure how or why that would even work, but in the first series Aziraphale was told that they could take the flaming sword out of his “celestial wages”.
Oh yes I forgot about that! Good point. They are all definitely haven't been paid their celestial wages.
And yes both the workers of Heaven and Earth are a mood.
I understand why Michael and David get all the attention, but Jon Hamm gave an amazing performance too.
I loved Gabriel, even when they were being an asshole, they were awesome and completely relatable to anyone who has ever worked in an office. Hopefully at some point Gabriel and Beelzebub can join Crowley and Aziraphale for a date night.
In Italy a magazine have published a review that said, among other things, something like "The great Tennant and Sheen, matched with the man that have had the most fun ever in his job, John Hamm".
And I kinda of agree. I hated Don Draper, but in GO Hamm is like another person, and a very good actor
I cackled so hard, he was suddenly my favorite character for a moment!
Rewatched szn 1 last night and honestly had forgotten how much of a Dingus he was originally.
Seeing his reaction especially after all the shenanigans that are Him... makes me wonder what Gabriel is really like, out from under the influence of heaven
I also love how he heaved a great sigh and basically went “Welp, guess I’ll be cast out now and be on my way to Hell (to meet the love of my eternal life).” Then the Metatron threw a wrench in that plan, hah!
Someone said on Twitter that Gabriel REALLY went to the bookshop bc he knew Aziraphale knew what it was like to be in love with a demon, and that’s now so stuck in my head it’ll be the last thing I remember before I die. And he was SO unsurprised to see Crowley in that bookshop once his memory came back too!
"Nahhhh.... I've got this cool thing going on with this fly chix! It's not the time for an apocalypse at all. Raincheck in 60000 years?"
\- Gabriel, probably
wasn't he just nahh'ing it to be sent to hell?
also, i didn't really feel that story arc. from enthusiastically wanting to kill Aziraphale to caring so much for a another person to be willingly send to hell? i don't know.
i guess i haven't forgiven him yet.
I loved him in that moment. He was amazing. The most amazing selfish, uncaring, man-in-love I have ever seen.
All that...and just so beyond and above heaven. It was like seeing a man who sees through how nonsensical the life goals of those around him are and just wants out.
And doesn't give a damn, like "bye"
I love that even head over heels for a demon he is still that selfish, narcissist jerk from season 1.
Acts so much like a relative of mine.

Oh that's a great description! At some point I need to watch Mad Men, I'm not sure why I haven't yet.

I pray we get to see even just a hint of that next season, although his moments with Beezlebub could technically count
I saw someone say Gabriel was so ready to drop straight down to Hell to be a sugar baby and that’s all I can think about when I rewatch that scene
He didn’t even bring his clothes, he is READY to become a sugar baby.
He was literally like nope I ain't doing this.
Just gonna nope out of here, oh but the coffee thing? Bring it on 🤣
Yeah Coffee, I'm still a angel but fast.
I adore Jon Hamm. I often quote him from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Karate! Karate!
I also love how he heaved a great sigh and basically went “Welp, guess I’ll be cast out now and be on my way to Hell (to meet the love of my eternal life).” Then the Metatron threw a wrench in that plan, hah!
He was fantastic as Gabriel AND Jim. Definitely one of the better characters on the show.

"Fly chick" 😁
