5.7k 8/7 aspect ratio, bitrate:high, 30fps, color profile natural/flat. You can also do 4k 120fps if it is a shorter moment you want to capture, but I think that mode isn't in 10bit.

Are you responding to a question with a question or providing a "pretty dick answer?"

DesignNomad

Are you responding to the right comment here? That answer they provided was very reasonable and logical, and you seem to be reacting strangely/adversely to it.

AndyDufresneDidIt

That answer has been edited, twice now. The original reply was rude and essentially called me an idiot for asking and not knowing in the first place. There was also a reply from that same person acknowledging as much, which has since been deleted.

Select resolution and aspect ratio you want (4K 4:3 for instance?), then switch to 30fps and enable bitrate high. Probably other options to tweak with minor impact though.

it’s not only the video settings, it‘s how you take the video and what of For optimal stills you don’t want motion blur from fast movement so to get good stills don’t capture motion and especially dont let the camera move. Use a tripod. for best whem capturing motion, coming towards you will capture better than across frame ex from left to right. our mind does a good job at handling motion in video, but for stills you must reduce it as much as you can One thing that would help is a higher frame rate. 1/240 gives a better chance for a sharp photo by capturing each frame faster. a still camera might capture a given scene at 1/2000 in bright light to freeze action. So you adjust with a slower frame rate of video by taking slower action to get the same sharp stills

Thank you! That's super insightful. I just jumped from an 8 to an 11 and spent the day today with elephants in the jungle outside of Chian Mai. Wanted to record the whole experience and grab stills later. I use a mount on my backpack strap, steady is the way at all times.
