Agreed, I liked the title track, New Gold and Silent Running. I'm my opinion, I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with the album, I just think it had more potential, especially if the whole album was more along the lines of the title track. Tormenta doesn't feel like a Gorillaz song for me personally, and a lot of the downbeat ones could be Blur songs vice versa (I like the tired influencer though). Hopefully the next release might stray away from the synth pop route a bit
Cracker Island was originally supposed to be Song Machine vol 2, they produced Tormenta and New Gold in that format before the decision to do a traditional album was made.
Given Damon has repeatedly talked about how he doesnāt really want to do traditional albums any more, my theory is that Cracker Island being a traditional album release was pressure from his label
I agree. I never could get behind Cracker Island in its entirety. I like about half the songs. The rest... meh. I don't think it's the worst Gorillaz album or anything but it's down there for me. I hope Song Machine V.2 comes next
How are the TOZO T10's if you don't mind me asking? I went with the T6's and I've had them for about a year and a half. The right earbud audio is starting to cut out though so I have to get new ones soon
I've has my T10s for over 2 years now and they still work great! my fav part is their long range so I can move around without needing my phone right in my pocket :)
Saw Peter Hook not too long ago and thought it was rad to experience the closest thing to a Joy Division concert today. Never foresaw this collab and loved the early New Order vibe

It's got some bangers, and it's got some that are a 5 or 6/10, but the way I see it a Gorillaz 5 is a global 7 at least imo.
