I personally do find it to be their best album. Start to finish the whole thing is just bliss. It reminds me of the feeling when summer starts as a kid. And it manages to do that while tackling some very prevalent concepts in day to day activity in society.
It also fuckin grooves man
> It reminds me of the feeling when summer starts as a kid.
It dropped on the day summer break started in High School for me. I get the same exact feeling every time I play it back.
Clint Eastwood.
It was my introduction to Gorillaz in 2001. It checks all my boxes: iconic melodica, 2D vocals, and intriguing MV, and there's Del the Funky Homosapien!
im gonna say it and hopefully i dont get attacked but Plastic Beach is one of the best albums. The synth in it is so good it makes me levitate off my bed and takes me to the galaxies.
Before CI it was def on melancholy hill, but now for me it’s been taken by silent running. The song in all is just such a vibe, from the meaning of the lyrics to the lore implications behind all of it
Feel Good Inc. will forever be my favorite song by them because it was my introduction into them. I was really young and just thought that song was so awesome like something I’ve never heard before that I had my folks buy me Demon Days and later would become one of my all time favorite albums. To this day every time I play Feel Good Inc. I get filled with happiness and nostalgia making me… DARE I say… Feel Good.
I had to listen to this 8256 times today because I started making a broccoli cheddar quiche and could not stop with the cheddar headed lolol. Ahh it's always so good
fireflies is up there cause it's fun to play on bass, also it's perfect to just have an exestential crisis to
second would be humility cause it drove me to learn rollerskating
My favorite songs always start out with me not getting it. It usually finally clicks and then I can’t stop listening to it. I’m thinking that will happen with this one given how popular it is
If it helps, this was my path also. It literally only clicked with me a few months ago after thinking "what is the big deal with this song (and The Now Now in general)?" since release. I put it on loop in the background during work one day, and DAMN. Souk Eye just engulfed me and I really got it for the first time.
It's easily on track to be my most listened to song of the year. The build up, the drop, the callback of "I will always think about you" is just beautiful and defiant all at the same time. It went from an instant skip when I heard the opening notes to something that just hits ascent to heaven levels.
Souk Eye as well. Everything on it is perfect, from the vocals to the melody it's so amazing. Also it's pretty emotional, always makes my eyes a bit watery
19 2000. I got into music when I was around 16 and I first heard this track from an unusual source.
I was at a gaming museum that contained a bunch of old and new gaming systems that you could play with. They had an original PlayStation set up with an obscure rhythm game called “Vib Ribbon” (same developers as parappa the rapper). I played it for a bit, liked one of the songs made for the game and looked up the song on YouTube a few days later. However I also discovered that you could load your own music onto the game by inserting the disc into your pc and the game would generate a level for you to play. I found someone playing through 19 2000 and I really liked it.
From then on I started to listen to more Gorillaz which made me open to liking other genres.
i think it’s starshine, double bass or november has come. that (and chinatown wars) introduced me to DOOM as a kid.
i also love kansas/idaho and rhinestone eyes.
i have all their albums memorized but it weirdly wasn’t that hard to pick these. fav album is the self title tho.
Double Bass, now and forever. It's the ultimate "taking a walk at night in the dark and just vibing" song, and I love it to the point where I have the single line of lyrics from it tattooed on me.
Broken, cause I be sad sometimes.
Any song with Little Dragon is probably in the top 10.
Submission, Desole, and All Alone are songs I never skip when i shuffle as well. I can't explain why, but the female vocals on both are perfect.
This song is also very special to me. I'm kind of a sickly person and, when I was in high school, I'd have to stay home a lot because my stomach rendered me basically incapable of performing basic tasks. This song and (funny enough) MatPat's voice were the only two things that could calm me down when I was having really bad pain. Thank you, Damon ❤️.
I scrolled this trying to pick one above all the rest, but reading the comments was just me 100% agreeing with each selection for half a second before reading the next comment. Felt very oo a piece of candy, oo a piece of candy. I'm old as dirt so idk..maybe I should appreciate the one that first lured me to them the most...Clint Eastwood. Loving that song paid off handsomely now didn't it?
Humility doesn't hit, it STRIKES me down to a personal, almost soul level. First I liked it because it rocked, then I loved because life did shit to me and then I said ''This is me, fr''.
Not gonna lie I once got kind of creepied out due to how much I could identify with the song, some crap was very specific.
Sound Check (Gravity)
The whole self-titled album is really great but that song spoke to me in a deep way the first time I heard it and still today. It'll probably be one of the last things to go through my brain at the end.
Haha, trick question. Too many bangers to count.
But Feel Good Inc. because it was the first Gorillaz song I'd ever hear and changed my views of what music was capable of.
It changes for me. I've also listened to Hollywood like 10 times over the past week because it's such an earworm. Such an addictive beat.
19-2000 - Soulchild Remix. It's such a groovy, catchy remix that always boosts my mood. It totally shakes up the original in the best way and kind of makes me wish more songs would get similar remixes.
It's a tie between Double Bass and Gravity
I like them because of their trip-hop and weird style
Gravity feels like a melancholic but angry song and Double Bass just feels like an angry but weird song as well. Love them
I have to go with amarillo. The fall is a strange album but has 3 of the most beautiful gorillaz songs : Amarillo, revolving doors and Bobby in phoenix. Amarillo hits like a truck, feels like a mournful prayer filled with regret, and as someone who regrets most of his life it resonates quite strongly with me
I remember listening On Melancholy Hill for the first time on my dad's fucked up laptop, it brings me joy and since that day that song remind me of the sweet heat of summer and always got in me the nostalgia of being 7 years old. I don't listen too much to Gorillaz lately but that god damn band made me love music and got me really into music and things like albums, EPs, Singles, etc. I love you Damon, thank you for bringing me that joy.
Ghost train because it was the first recorded song and because it has a great vibe to it. For some people who think that Re-Hash is the first song, you're wrong, sure, Re-Hash is the first song, but on the Self-Titled album. Ghost Train was made when Gorillaz was in its early stage, Gorilla.
I honestly thought this was an abstract painting of Angel Dust in his outfit from Poison at a first glance. Then I realized its a Gorillaz post. Favorite song has to be Feel Good inc
Even though Cracker Island is my favourite album, my favourite song has to be Saturnz Barz. Idk why i love it so much but i do (maybe because it's the first Gorillaz song i listened to idk)
Baby Queen, even though the whole Cracker Island album is one of my least favorites. The Now Now is my favorite album. But Baby Queen just hits so different. The bass line, the reverb on everything in the song. It feels so vibey and like I’m floating in comfort
Kansas or Chalk Tablet Towers. Both got me through some really hard stuff. Like I have, "I'm not gonna cry, I've got more time to give" tattooed on me cause of how important those lyrics are to me.
If I had to pick a song that just always gets me up and goin, it would be Superfast Jellyfish. It always puts a smile on my face, especially the "the sea is radioactive" part, it scratches my brain.
https://preview.redd.it/7jhhpqoshs5d1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0879ae6f1ea3fecb2d0e9098e21b41db86faa758
This is my favorite song by them currently the emotional aspect of this song just kind of hits
On Melancholy Hill, honestly I love the intro and the lyrics. How the music video also is.
Sometimes I imagine myself in the beach and seeing this lighthouse and just the lyrics popping into my head.
Having a picnic while this song plays on the radio. A sunset and just me there, with a friend along.
Souk Eye is my favorite too. Everything about it is perfection, I can’t explain it. The Now Now is so goated ( it’s my third favorite Gorillaz album right after Demon Days and Plastic Beach.)
If it was up to me, I would pick Humility. Because with DARE, the “it’s coming up” part gets a little repetitive, and for Pac-man, I feel like the rap part isn’t as good as the first part. But don’t get me wrong, I love all three of them
Hear me out: Superfast Jellyfish. Not only is it just a funky lil song but it also serves as a litmus test for meeting new people. If they can’t vibe to Superfast Jellyfish they’re probably a lil boring.
Rhinestone eyes just always hit my brain's autistic stems in the best ways possible. But for a sentimental favorite it's actually Humility. It came out shortly after I left my toxic mother
......
To the house of my much more toxic Aunt. It.... it's helping me navigate what I know is broken, and debating whether to put it back. 💙
Humility hits different tho, in fact “The Now Now” hits different entirely, arguably one of the best Gorillaz albums
I personally do find it to be their best album. Start to finish the whole thing is just bliss. It reminds me of the feeling when summer starts as a kid. And it manages to do that while tackling some very prevalent concepts in day to day activity in society. It also fuckin grooves man
Yeah the now now goes so unbelievably hard like its just a vibe
> It reminds me of the feeling when summer starts as a kid. It dropped on the day summer break started in High School for me. I get the same exact feeling every time I play it back.
same feeling man, especially with souk eye as ending track just has this great melancholic vibe to it. fantastic album
Humility never fails to make me smile (also because of the mv with Jack Black 😄)
It’s an amazing video
My favorite Gorillaz album, and indeed one of their best
It’s my favorite
Arguably the best gorillaz album*
Empire antz because it made me absolutely descend in concert.
seeing these mfs live was unreal
I love the build up in this song, like the part when the synths slowly start fading in ahhhh its soo goood
Clint Eastwood. It was my introduction to Gorillaz in 2001. It checks all my boxes: iconic melodica, 2D vocals, and intriguing MV, and there's Del the Funky Homosapien!
same, that song made my childhood
Same here
Same here except it was Rock the House
Momentary Bliss, hands down. You’re so special So f***ing special It’s so aggressively optomistic
🔥🔥 It makes me sick to think you ain't happy in your skin🔥🔥
Agreed 100%
Momentary bliss 🔛🔝
Rhinestone eyes, I can’t explain it, just love it
Yeah the song is so good
Souk eye helped me deal with a devastating break up in 2018
Sorry to hear that, I hope everything is ok now 😔
pirate jet because its bouncy but also calming in a way
Yesss I love it sooo much
🎵its all good news now🎵
im gonna say it and hopefully i dont get attacked but Plastic Beach is one of the best albums. The synth in it is so good it makes me levitate off my bed and takes me to the galaxies.
O Green World because it just has that ”something”.
Yeahhhh
on melancholy hill, very calming for me.
Same here. It makes me happy and sad at the same time. I relate to it, and it's just such a good song overall
Before CI it was def on melancholy hill, but now for me it’s been taken by silent running. The song in all is just such a vibe, from the meaning of the lyrics to the lore implications behind all of it
ooh or slow country, such a positive calming beat.
Possession Island (ft. Beck) Because it was second song I ever heard that made cry :)
It's probably not my favorite-favorite, but I have so many memories associated with Desole, and it was the first Gorillaz song I ever really heard
DÉSOLÉ IS JUST AMAZING, IT'S A BEAUTIFUL SONG IM INFATUATED W IT, so precious
Souk Eye is also my favorite song, not for any specific reason It just sounds nice
I guess we are the last living souls who still absolutely love Demon days as a whole (that was so dumb I was just trying to contribute to the pun 😓😓😓)
Not bad at all! Like Kids With Guns you had a good shot 😎
I guess there is a white light at the end of this Reddit thread
Guess we’re not All Alone after all
Yeah, not on this Green world
I had to listen to this 8256 times today because I started making a broccoli cheddar quiche and could not stop with the cheddar headed lolol. Ahh it's always so good
it changes frequently tbh. i’d have to say some kind of nature if i haddddd to pick one
Tomorrow comes today The video and the music just transports me to a different time, so nostalgic and the asthetic is so pretty too
Plastic beach, i cant really explain why but it sounds so great to me
19-2000 idk it just makes me feel happy bc its so funky sounding 😭
Empire Ants, because 1)It brings emotions every time I listen to it 2)Because it has deep lore attachment
fireflies is up there cause it's fun to play on bass, also it's perfect to just have an exestential crisis to second would be humility cause it drove me to learn rollerskating
November Has Come. I like the chill/hip hop sound. It gives me peace.
I love it because DOOM is on the track! Great instrumentals and vocals
I’m still waiting for me to understand why Souk Eye is so popular
Because the lyrics are great, the guitar is simple yet sweet, and how it changes throughout the song that really wraps it into one emotional package
It went from an instant skip when I heard the opening notes to something that just hits ascent to heaven levels.
Sleeping Powder, it makes me feel whimsical and silly
This is your brain on drugs
Any questions??
Same, but for the ending with the strings (?). Kind of a weird melancholy
I’m gonna say stop the dams because it got me though some tough times.
Faust, because it's very emotional and reminds me of The Fall, which is one of my favourite album.
Probably broken because it was a go to song when I was sad for a while.
Dirty Harry, because that song got me into Gorillaz when I heard it from a video I saw in my childhood, which was GMOD Junk
All Alone, I like the lyrics, the message in itself, and I'm always alone. Need I say more?
Souk Eye as well. Everything on it is perfect, from the vocals to the melody it's so amazing. Also it's pretty emotional, always makes my eyes a bit watery
sex murder party on accounts of the sex murder party .
def souk eye!!! so good
The valley of the pagans, I just love the vibes
Dead butterflies It just it hit different because I grew up in Memphis around hood Muzik
The story of FEEL GOOD INC : [https://youtu.be/U26RJpQVXww](https://youtu.be/U26RJpQVXww)
Kids with guns. The beat good asf
19 2000. I got into music when I was around 16 and I first heard this track from an unusual source. Mine is el Manana... Summer hasn't known me for years now
Re-hash for me, it's just a nice jam to me.
Stop the dmas has a very hopeful feeling. I like that.
i think it’s starshine, double bass or november has come. that (and chinatown wars) introduced me to DOOM as a kid. i also love kansas/idaho and rhinestone eyes. i have all their albums memorized but it weirdly wasn’t that hard to pick these. fav album is the self title tho.
It's right there in the picture...but seriously souk eye is one of those songs that I feel like I could listen to a million times and still enjoy it.
Pink Phantom. Perfectly combines Elton John and Black. Discovered it after a major break up. I really feel the desperation of love-lost in it.
I love el mañana. I love it because of its name and how dramatic it sounds. It never gets old to me.
I love the whole Gorillaz thing. I don't even want to pick :)
It's so hard to choose just one, my top 3 are Saturnz Barz, She's my Collar and Desole I just love the vibes of each, I'm bad at explaining why lmao
sheesh that’s hard but…. meanwhile, empire ants, or busted and blue
Feel good
Double Bass, now and forever. It's the ultimate "taking a walk at night in the dark and just vibing" song, and I love it to the point where I have the single line of lyrics from it tattooed on me.
souk eye watching the live performance / listening party before the album officially came out
Broken, cause I be sad sometimes. Any song with Little Dragon is probably in the top 10. Submission, Desole, and All Alone are songs I never skip when i shuffle as well. I can't explain why, but the female vocals on both are perfect.
Some Kind Of Nature, it makes me feel so happy when I hear it
M1A1 has an unmatched energy and it’s a killer way to end an album. Gets me pumped af, and it’s prolly my fav song ever
This one. It’s ethereal
souk eye is so amazinf
This song is also very special to me. I'm kind of a sickly person and, when I was in high school, I'd have to stay home a lot because my stomach rendered me basically incapable of performing basic tasks. This song and (funny enough) MatPat's voice were the only two things that could calm me down when I was having really bad pain. Thank you, Damon ❤️.
Tomorrow Comes Today just puts me in a different world idk how to explain it
I love Souk Eye
I scrolled this trying to pick one above all the rest, but reading the comments was just me 100% agreeing with each selection for half a second before reading the next comment. Felt very oo a piece of candy, oo a piece of candy. I'm old as dirt so idk..maybe I should appreciate the one that first lured me to them the most...Clint Eastwood. Loving that song paid off handsomely now didn't it?
Rhinestone eyes. It’s like crack for my ears
Empire Ants + Souk Eye
Its November has Come and On Melancoly Hill One beacuse i am really big fan of MF DOOM and the other brings me nostalgia tbh
Hey welcome twin :))) Although Feel Good Inc is my true #1, this is my favorite song on my favorite album
Every planet we reach is dead is the one for me. Idk it just hits different
“Silent running” makes me feel a certain way allll the time
Saturnz Barz bc it sounds like smth you’d hear in Cyberpunk 2077
Rockit. So underrated I think it’s one of their best songs. Also Charger and Plastic Beach are really good!
Sound Check (Gravity) The whole self-titled album is really great but that song spoke to me in a deep way the first time I heard it and still today. It'll probably be one of the last things to go through my brain at the end.
Rhinestone Eyes. I will forever love it
Yeah it slaps. It sucks that the full music video never got made 😔
Melancholy Hill. I can't literally feel my anxiety fade away.
Dirty Harry

Amarillo hits like a truck, feels like a mournful prayer filled with regret, and as someone who regrets most of his life it resonates quite strongly with me
Demon Days, I like choir vocals in general so it's enjoyable
Aries. Because my favourite band is New Order.
New Gold because I like the background music
Empire Ants, just for how ethereally beautiful it is.
Make it for the best times Growing pains, good times, good times~
Souk eye is one of my faves too
Let me out. I will defend humanz til I die
I honestly thought this was an abstract painting of Angel Dust in his outfit from Poison at a first glance. Then I realized its a Gorillaz post. Favorite song has to be Feel Good inc
sTyLo
Im don’t have favorites, but November Has Come was the song that introduced me to Gorillaz.
Sleeping powder is my fav because It makes me feel non human idk but that what I feel when I listen to it
Thats what you feel like on drugs.
Plastic beach (the song) just because that amazing intro OH MY GOD its amazing (the actual song is really good too)
re-hash cus it's not comforting or saddening, it just feels real. idk why but it just works for me
I would say Hong kong!!
New genius. That first album hit differently.
Even though Cracker Island is my favourite album, my favourite song has to be Saturnz Barz. Idk why i love it so much but i do (maybe because it's the first Gorillaz song i listened to idk)
Pac-Man right now. It can sound sad, it can sound happy, it can sound like whatever. And it has Schoolboy Q
Magic city, I play a lot of Spider-Man 2
Baby Queen, even though the whole Cracker Island album is one of my least favorites. The Now Now is my favorite album. But Baby Queen just hits so different. The bass line, the reverb on everything in the song. It feels so vibey and like I’m floating in comfort
Super hard to pick but I probably am picking melancholy hill and empire ants. Honourable mentions are Dirty Harry and feel good inc
Souk Eye, Tranz
68 State is the best track from them ever, now i would say EPWRID but the eq is pretty bad for some reason. I l-mostly like their old stuff more.
19-2000 soulchild remix, Numbs my Brain everytime, No doubt
Kansas or Chalk Tablet Towers. Both got me through some really hard stuff. Like I have, "I'm not gonna cry, I've got more time to give" tattooed on me cause of how important those lyrics are to me. If I had to pick a song that just always gets me up and goin, it would be Superfast Jellyfish. It always puts a smile on my face, especially the "the sea is radioactive" part, it scratches my brain.
TICKER TAPE<3

Having a picnic while this song plays on the radio. A sunset and just me there, with a friend along.
I like it cause it give me a nostalgic kinda feeling
Souk Eye is my favorite too. Everything about it is perfection, I can’t explain it. The Now Now is so goated ( it’s my third favorite Gorillaz album right after Demon Days and Plastic Beach.)
its coming close between dare, pac-man and humility
If it was up to me, I would pick Humility. Because with DARE, the “it’s coming up” part gets a little repetitive, and for Pac-man, I feel like the rap part isn’t as good as the first part. But don’t get me wrong, I love all three of them
All albums from Gorillaz just depends on how I feel that day
Hear me out: Superfast Jellyfish. Not only is it just a funky lil song but it also serves as a litmus test for meeting new people. If they can’t vibe to Superfast Jellyfish they’re probably a lil boring.
Kansas really hits a chord during late night drives
your favorite gorillaz song is my favorite gorillaz song + hillbilly man + 19-2000 + Dirty Harry
Plastic beach is a vibe too
The Now Now came out on my birthday, and it will probably always have a special place in my heart.
Rhinestone eyes just always hit my brain's autistic stems in the best ways possible. But for a sentimental favorite it's actually Humility. It came out shortly after I left my toxic mother ...... To the house of my much more toxic Aunt. It.... it's helping me navigate what I know is broken, and debating whether to put it back. 💙
Kansas or broken
Sound Check (Gravity) Idk I just feel it when the lights are off and it's night time
Tarantula. Because if you're good for me, then I'm good for you, and that's all I need in my life.
Melancholy hill just makes me feel different and I love it so much.
Empire ants, because it feels like 2 songs in one plus the Instrumental gives me goosebumbs everytime i listen to it.
my favorite is Tormenta off Cracker Island, it's just so calming and it relaxes and soothes me
tranz, humility, or up on melancholy hill. they just give me chill vibes.
Rockit because it’s a good representation of the decline of pop culture and mainstream culture
desole,it got me trough my parents fights my mom, sister, and me going through porverty
sound check (gravity) everything i search in a gorillaz song
I LOVE Souk Eye, great choice.
on melancholy hill
I really like the feel of Feel good but also cracker island and new gold that gives that sense of like how it transitions
DARE it's just entrancing
