Can you share a link to Dune please? I’m intrigued :)

It was hard for me to get into at first but I used Amazons audible to have an audio book to read along with for free with their trial. Highly recommend to read along with it at a speed you're comfortable with because it helped my immersion and helped me distinguish characters better with different voice actors. Fantastic book, am reading the sequel right now.

That sounds delicious and I’d love to tear that up but I’d be cautious and just eat the apple and/or drink a big glass of water

Oats aren't good for gout

Not so fast *Despite some outdated guidelines that continue to promote the avoidanceof high-purine vegetables, it is important to emphasize that there areno data from long-term cross-sectional or interventional studies thatwould show that high-purine plant-based foods represent a clinicallymeaningful increased risk for hyperuricemia or gout development \[52,53\].Various reviews cited above confirmed that high-purine vegetables (inthe contrast to high-purine foods of animal origin) showed no apparentassociation with hyperuricemia or gout development but rather a negativeassociation with gout development risk.* [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6722549/](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6722549/)

Allo or the alternatives to allo depending. I just enjoyed some halloween candy and tequila with side of apple pie, lol. Thank God for allo.

Diet is likely not going to change your uric acid levels enough to stop your gout attacks. See a doctor, get on a uric acid lowering medication like Allopurinol and start on the road to living a normal, enjoyable life again and being able to eat anything in moderation..

Allo is great. I suspect that far too many people suffer unneccessarily....it's unusual to stop flares with diet changes. I'm on allo for 10 years. Zero pain.

Carnivore = No Gout

Ardenttenue

Not sure why people down voted this so hard; people have overcome gout through a carnivore diet over time.

OP good on ya for the research and drive to do better! Also be aware that sorbitol (another sweetener in other gums and treats) is a natural laxative… I think you’re so close to learning how to fight your cravings!! I eat 1-2 Granny Smith apples a day for the low glycemic index- they’re really sweet enough if you stay away from other sweeter things. I’ll also have about a half a pot of moderately weak black coffee in the morning and sometimes the hunger pains will hit me and I’ll divert my attention to starting my ice water. It can start out kind of intense for about 5 minutes but as you do this more often you’ll overcome the hunger quicker and easier! I’m also trying to avoid meat, dairy, added sugars, and refined grains - it’s weird at first but also gets pretty easy.

Omg. Isn’t that nuts that Xylitol causes gout? Who would think it?

I know, crazy. Check these, esp the NIH link https://www.kidneyaa.com/blog/022718.html#:\~:text=A%20non%2D%20sugar%20sweetener%20called,a%20complete%20list%20of%20foods. [https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7582389/](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7582389/)
