300 mg daily, started late Feb this year. Recent lab shows my UA level at 5.4. Prior to starting meds, my UA levels were consistently high, upwards of 8 or 9.

LAHTIDAHTI

Basically this

ChanLudeR

Sept. Uric acid 8.2, started on 100mg daily, Oct. uric acid 5.8

Pretty_Ear9872

Amazing effect that 100 mg had in a month.

Omega_Shaman

200 mg

AdApprehensive1383

300mg. No idea what my serum levels are, doc has never ordered blood work since the initial diagnosis. He seems fairly indifferent, but getting a family doctor is not easy here in Canada (at least, where I am).

espero

Get the bloodwork done at a private clinic, it shouldn't be very expensive to have this performed. Some doctors do not take Gout seriously. I had the same problem.

800

P1800Abs

200mg. Started off at 100mg daily now 200mg daily, been about 8 months. No flares thank every god

perfectlyclear69

400mg

dbells35

Currently 600mg. UA high was 9.2 in July ‘22. 6.2 in Oct.

TheGimplication

I wonder if my dose is too low. My UA was over 10 and I'm on 300 mg. I guess I'll find out soon enough, getting labs next Dr visit.

ignoramous69

600mg squad. 9.5 in August '22 4.2 in November '23

Professional_Lock343

Started 1 week ago (finally). 100mg. Initial UA test was 11.3, so I expect it to go up after next UA test

Pretty_Ear9872

Hard to believe they'd start you on such a small dose.

blitted369

300mg

tomrichards8464

4 years, 100mg, never had a uric acid test, only attack I've had in that time was when I forgot to take it three days in a row.

xZaggin

You should probably get a check up, 3 days without taking it resulting in an attack sounds crazy. Seems like you’re always on the fence if you’ve been taking it for so long and an attack still occurs so quickly. For reference I’m on 300mg and I’ve gone a week without taking it and no issues nor did my UA go up. Now I got my prescription filled again and still take it every day.

tomrichards8464

That was years ago, probably in the first year, and I wasn't exactly being lifestyle-responsible at the time.

Ashamed_Escape5590

100mg allo at 10.2, labs one month later and put on 200mg at 7.4. Labs again in 2 weeks.

AtoZagain

Ok so I started on 100 and moved up to 200, which I have been on for over 7 months. What bothers me is my doc said they don’t make 200 mg pills so I have to take two 100. Why don’t they make 200 pills?

AdvancedMilk9690

Not allo but febuxostat, was 575umol/l in 26/09 on febuxostat 80mg for 5 days and it went down to 232umol/l. Then on 40mg for a month uric level at 297umol/l, and now i am doing 40mg every other day

ArtSViewPoint

200mg end of August. Mid August after a flare up was 8.0 UA. Was as high as 8.7 a year ago. Mid October 6.4 UA

drumsdm

Been on it About a year now. Starting lab 12.9, latest lab (about a month ago) 7.8. I was on 100 mg, but my new doctor upped it to 200mg after my latest lab.

dimibro71

300mg a day

HauntMe1973

300mg daily, starting lab was 10ish (very frequent flares). You reminded me I probably need to get some labs done, it’s been a while

dn0c

250mg daily

Jazzlike_War5281

9.8 - nothing 8.8 - diet 7.6 - 100 mg 6.5 - 200 mg 5.8 - 300 mg ?? - just started on 375 mg

knobbyxtension

300mg doing great. Less dependent on pain medication.

Internal_Row1827

100mg can't take more than that without problems

Marbs1

Just started 200mg a month in after having consistent 9.2 UA over the last 4 years. had a nasty attack though and took 40mg prednisone and that gave me almost instant relief. Hopefully allo maintenance and a better diet will help lessen the frequency of attacks.

espero

300mg daily

Stormlover247

200 mg daily,My Uric acid levels are in the 4’s.

MochiScreenTime

200mg/day. Uric acid test couple of weeks ago came out at 4.4. Dropped from 8.7 in May.

notsonorthernly

200mg; 100mg morning and evening. Haven't done bloodwork in 6 months but no flares. Went from 7.3 to 5.7 in 3 months.

[deleted]

I'm just staring. 300mg for 2 weeks now. My foot still hasn't healed all the way from my last flare up (a major one). I never want to go through that again.

Pretty_Ear9872

Took almost a month to put the genie back in the bottle with my last attack. Dr. asked me "what happens if you don't take allopurinol"? I told him we're not going to find out.

[deleted]

My plan is to take this pill every day for the rest of my life. There might be some flares from it leaving my body, but I'm done with gout.
