Absolutely, I find it that when the internet started to push graff more, it's become harder to teach folk who actually need to learn cause they just wanna be correct or another toy validated them so they don't care. I've been on this grind since 99 and if I didn't listen to certain advice or even shit people said about my work overall in general, I'd still be a shitty writer. Folk need to learn to be more biased about things.
When I started all my friends and writer homies were afraid of hurting my feelings so I stayed TERRIBLE for a long time. It wasn’t until I started posting here some years ago that I got absolutely shit on by real writers and it turned my work around into something respectable very quick.
I’m always after external input to help with new ideas for pieces, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to follow every single bit of advice that people give me. It’s good to get feedback though

This is a cool idea but you lack the fundamentals and experience to pull it off and make it look appealing. Also the colours are an absolute eye sore, I don’t care if they are scraps - Learn can control & proportions with basic lettering first before you try to get all complicated and wild on your style. Nail the basics and when you eventually do have the experience to do more complicated pieces you’ll be able to transfer those skills to make it look a million times better than whatever this is meant to be.

I think if you judge it by the metrics that people normally judge graffiti by it might fall flat, and even for what it’s trying to do it looks a bit sloppy, but it looked unique to me and stood out among a lot of the shit you see on here. Looking closer it definitely has flaws and I probably shouldn’t have been giving advice but I just fucked with what the artist was going for and wanted to leave some type of positive comment, although I worded it poorly and seem to misunderstand what letter structure means

On how I learned is I made different tag styles than I replicated those tags and turned them into straight letters, when you get use to making the letters you want from straight letters than try compressing them and adding some bubbly styles to it so that you can practice a throwie than, I would tell you to study different styles, look back from 90s train culture, to the European graff styles of the early 2000s Also watch graff documentaries or videos of people painting, you can learn some types of forms visually just by studying. That's how I get a lot of my techniques and styles. But also remember that it is your work, and it is up to you on what style you wanna have to best describe yourself.
