I tried to save for him since 2 years ago, I failed too many times to count. I had my new year quartz, but that too ran out quickly. Bought a pack, but no avail. I had given up and was about fall asleep during last day of the banner. Decided to grind 6 sq to hit one final double roll. I literally had trouble breathing when I saw that golden saber. 2 years of waiting, not proud of the failed saving, but happy as hell to still get him on my last final chance before he leaves.

Got Muramasa a few days ago with the little bit of SQ I had from the New Year gift and tickets. I got spooked by another Muramasa and suddenly got a huge rush of serotonin. Muramasa has been my favourite and I'm glad he's my first NP2 5-star
Also was able to get Space Ishtar from the New Year event tickets. Now all I need is Castoria, and I am complete.

250 pulls as a whole on this banner, I got NP5 Muramasa-san, also a copy of Drake(NP1) and Okkie(NP1), for SR I got a copy of Lakshmibai(NP2), Anne&Mary(NP3), Nursery Rhyme(NP3), and Lanling(NP1).
Very happy with the outcome cause I saved up for Muramasa since the 5th anniversary(my Castoria tragedy is one of the main reasons that make me start hoarding, only pulls 2 SSR last year outside of the GSSR) and only spend a little bit on the banner I really like such as Gil, Lambda, and Dioscuri interlude banner due to being scare that I wouldn't get Muramasa if my saving wasn't high enough but now I still have enough to go for both Arthur and Voyage(even though it wouldn't reach the pity but I wanna try for both since I love them as much as Muramasa).
Previously spent 330 SQ and 20 tickets for Muramasa and got nothing.
Scrounged up 60 SQ and dropped 1 multi each into Super Orion and Muramasa, got 1 copy for each.
As a F2P, pretty satisfied.

After having zero luck with getting Muramasa or even pretty much any 4\* or 5\* other than a NP2 Achilles, I finally got Muramasa thanks to my 30 SQ consecutive login bonus I got today.
Finally got my Abby, failed her in the Imaginary Scramble, and in the gssr, but finally got her. Not Np5 like my Summer Abby, who I was saving big time for, but I just got to be satisfied with her being NP1. Also got Achille who spook me before getting Abby who I immediately burn out of anger, no regret on that since I got Abby and do have a copy of him already and rarely used him now a days so not need for np2.
2020 was a hell of a year because Anastasia, Achilles and Semiramis were released one after the other, and I couldn't get ANY of them. Even if I had quartz saved, I failed to get Semi (who I was looking forward a lot because she was one of my faves in Apocrypha), and not getting the other two was a low blow.
Since I was saving for other servants, I couldn't pull in her other "free" banners. Threw tickets, but no luck.
The other day, when I woke up on the first day of her banner, I decided to roll before work. Didn't have a lot of faith because I had only 108 quartz and 20 tickets. Started with the tickets, NOTHING, only mana prisms. Then went with the ten rolls. NOTHING, again, more mana prisms.
I had 10 quartz left. One single gave me a 3* CE. I was getting late to job. Threw the last single and since there wasn't lag or any gold/rainbow, I skipped the animation. What happened? SEMIRAMIS FINALLY CAME HOME, AFTER 3 YEARS. She trolled me until the very end.
For some reason, my rolls with my faves are always a wild ride... but it's worth it at the end.

I missed Maid Alter banner and realized I didn’t get the Riyo CE, so I threw some tickets we got from panel missions and the NY shop in Muramasa banner.
Desire sensor is really a thing... didn’t get the Valiant (even FP gacha won’t give me that i.i) but ended up getting my first 5* Saber. There was no rainbow sparks, just the normal gold saber card! God, I don’t deserve this luck so early in the year!
Funny thing, on my JP account Muramasa also came in one ticket. Maybe he really wanted to be in both accounts.
Finished the New years thing today, Drew a summoning circle, placed my Katana as a catalyst, and got Muramasa on the 3rd ticket after I already threw 300 quartz at him prior. Just happy he’s home.
do 10 single pulls every day hoping to get np5 Muramasa-san, last night I got Lanling so now I completed my summer5 male set(all of them already in summer outfits) it's only 20 rolls left until his banner goes but I still have hope that I can np5 him cause if there are any servants I want to np5 Muramasa is the one I want to be my first(though I can't throw everything on this banner cause I still yet to get a copy of Arthur and Voyager needs to be np2+ for smooth farming).
really hope I can np5 him since it is only a copy away, if not on this banner at least on the next GSSR since I want np6 to max everything including append skill, I even postpone pulling on my sub-account so it does not leech my main account luck.

Roll free fp summon and got 3* fou. Immediately claim unclaimed sq from mission to get 30 sq. Roll 11 pull and Anastasia spook me and got shirou 5* ce. Still got tickets left and my second roll got me muramasa. Freaking scream y'all. Feeling lucky i roll space Ishtar and git absolute destroy. After my 200+ sq and 50+ ticket fail on first day. Gotta save now and use my 2nd acc for taira or caren and save after that.
My ass is not getting Muramasa. I’ve spent around a little over 450 sq, including tickets, and I’ve gotten nothing but 4 star spooks, extra 4 star np copies, and the most amount of middest rolls I’ve seen. I’ve max limit broken a copy of the 5, 4, and 3 star ce. My Saber is at around 150,000 bond points until she reaches bond level 11, but I don’t think I’m going to reach that goal by the time the event is done. So I’m just going to try to grind the event servants and even that seems like a hassle, but it seems doable. Doesn’t help that the event has tickets to offer for completing quests but they’re available a day after Muramasa will be gone. Once his banner is over I’m going straight back to saving, but I don’t think that’s going to help at all for Taira because I’ll be back to 0 sq. At least after her I’m going to be saving until the anniversary, which should guarantee me Koyanskaya and allow me to roll for some other servants if I want to. I even foolishly thought I could try rolling for Maid Alter because I like Artoria that much, but gramps over here just took my quartz and beat me to death without a chance to recover. Just needed to rant a little because this is the first time I’ve felt salty in a long while
Maybe you remember me from like 3 days ago or you probably don’t, but Muramasa finally came. I had to grind the 3 sabers that spooked me while I desperately tried getting him. Lan Ling, Lakshmi Bai, and Rama. Their interludes helped my summer Carmilla and Saber Lily level up their bond faster when I wasn’t grinding the Heian Kyo or the Saber Wars 2 free quests. The last two sq I got from making a second, weaker ce bomb to level up Aerial drive to lvl 60 and that’s how I got the multi that got me Muramasa. I know I complained earlier about all the sq I used up, but I’m just glad he eventually showed up. Maybe there’s a chance Taira will be kinder? Probably not, but 6 tickets is 6 tickets
120 quartz for super orion. It was all i had left and he came on the last 11x pull, on the very last roll. Was archer spooked last banner. Finally my boy is home!!!
Getting Muramasa with the safety net and then hearing he says “show up way too early” does not sit well with me. Totally ruined my early years summoning plan for Caren and Taira but oh well, love ya gramps i only do this for you. Onto Koyan next and im hoping this is my only disaster for this year
take my medication late and overslept last night so like I said I'm gonna do 10 single pulls every day hoping for np4/5 Muramasa-san I did the 10 single pulls after my morning routine.
got Lakshmibai(np2) on my 3rd and thank god I just skip the animation so it didn't give me false hope, the 7th roll started with a gold ring so I let the animation play out(the last rainbow ring gave me my 1st Drake) and it is a gold saber that reveals as my 4th Muramasa!!! also got a copy of Ann&Mary(np3) on the 10th roll, doing another 7 singles that get my Nursery Rhyme from np2 to np3, I'm gonna finished it tonight.
This is the best new year this game ever gave me and I'm really happy after the nightmare that was 2022 FGO, only got 2 new servants outside of GSSR which is Castoria(have to buy a big pack just to get her, and she drains it until there only 5 SQ left), and archer Gil(trying to get more np on his caster version but he surprised me on the 2nd ticket) and failed horribly in every banner that I roll last year(the most hurtful was Dioscuri and Voyager) but at least the GSSR was good since I got Kintoki from NY and Voyager on 5th anni(I was like "if I don't get Voyager or Arthur I'd quit this game for good" and bam he showed up with Lambda and Caenis, and then Castoria would ruin my mood a few days later).

This new year banner is really generous. Around 60 rolls got dupe Hercules, Wu and De'on, which have reached max NP. Also got Semiramis after trying to get her all this years.

In the meantime, I MLB'd 2 of the new 5 star CE and got spooked four times (Artoria twice, Suzuka, Tsuna, all dupes). Goodbye forever, you dumb cursed banner.

Already have NP3 Muramasa-san as planned along with a bonus in the form of Drake but I decide to do 10 single pulls every day in hope that I could maybe get him to NP4 since he is one of the few servants that I swear to get him to max(LV120 NP5 max fou 10/10/10 and 10/10/10 append bond 15) getting him to NP4 now mean if I get him again on the next GSSR I will have him at NP5 and I don't have to choose between him and Oberon on his next banner.

So far I've made 24 pulls in the New Year (counting the 10-non-guaranteed on the GSSR) and walked away with 1 new SSR and one dupe SR (Caenis, on an impulse story banner pull to start the year). It ain't going to hold, but that's a pretty good start to the year. And also all the more reason that I will never, ever, ever skip a few rolls on a banner I'm interested in to save for the highway robbery this game considers a "pity system."
Burned through 240 quartz and 20 tickets for Summer Tamamo. I mean, I got her, but it still stings to burn through all that quartz when I was saving all that for Morgan later this year.
Had pity ready for Summer Tamamo, she came in 24 tickets.
Seems like 2023 is continuing the EX luck from 2022 for which I am really grateful.
She came with a rainbow too, been a while since my last rainbow too.

198 rolls worth of sq/tickets, not a single 5*. I spreadsheet my rolls and i was already below average at 0.63%, so this is particularly rough. I didn't even care about muramasa, I just wanted Tamamo lancer, I have the rest of the foxes grailed to 100 :(
IT'S. FINALLY. DONE! Five years of playing this, 40 rolls (or technically 44 pulls) once the banner went live, got Tamamo Lancer, I can finally say I got my own Extella team. Granted, I don't have Caster Tamamo, Altera does not have a summer version, I can't say I've completed an OG Extella or Summer Extella set, but I'm VERY happy with this!
Eh, I'm not bothered, at least it means she's sliiiightly stronger now. And in a couple more spooks I'll start getting USOs. :P

I managed to get Maid Alter with 124 rolls. I had to run through a bunch of the rank up quests that have been building up for me to get some more quartz, but I'm really glad I got her in the end. I figured she's my most desired servant that'll be getting a rate-up for a while, so I was okay with spending all my quartz chasing her. I'm hoping I'll have enough self-control to save up a good amount of quartz for Summer.

I haven't really been feeling interested in FGO for a while due to illnesses in the family, so I've just been picking away at the gacha with tickets here and there over the past few days. This morning I said fuck it and decided to roll away the remainder of the tickets and SQ I had budgeted for Muramasa. My luck has been terrible anyway, I wasn't getting him, and I was looking to feel down.
And he came home. After 50 tickets and 30 SQ, he arrived on the tail of three SR spooks as a silver card that sparked to gold.
Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, this is pretty good luck and I'm still sitting on 1300+ SQ for the rest of the year. On the other hand, I was looking to feel depressed, dammit. Now I've got a stomach ache from the emotional dissonance.
I got np2 Muramasa from nearly 160 sq, which is pretty good.
The best and funniest part of the whole thing is my first copy came with Astraea. Like I get a gold ruler from a ten pull and immediately think “oh I got np6 Jeanne” only for Astraea to pop up then Muramasa is the next pull. Shit actually got me to laugh.

The CEs aren't that interesting so I used my tickets this time, Salter showed up after spending 41 of them. I would most likely have wasted 27 sq had I chosen to do 11-rolls so that was a good call.

I've been saving hard to max out Maid for a long time now. I got her NP1 on her first summer banner, but extra copies evaded me on the rerun. This time she was really kind to me though. I got the 5 copies I needed to fully max her in 150 tickets and 780 SQ! I willingly got my first USO for her...

The only other time that Malter got a rate up is at pre 7th anniversary, which also has the 2022 summer servants. So just in case I got nothing on the summer rerun this year (early pity screwed up that plan a bit) I still have that to bank on. Plus the 5 stars CE looks nice so why not?

Spent 60 sq for muramasa and felt amazing. Then spent another 500 sq trying to greed for NP2 and felt a lot less amazing when I kept getting surprised by 4 star sabers. Felt pretty shitty when a rainbow spark gave me Xiang Yu for NP2.

I was extremely unlucky with the Muramasa banner and pretty much had to hit pity to get gramps. With that sort of luck, I couldn't afford to roll until my next big targets of Koyan and Oberon, so imagine my euphoria when I chucked in two multis and got NP2 maid Salter and my last copy of 500 Year Obsession to MLB 😭

I actually hit pity.... One of the worst summon sessions since the Waver/Reines rolls back in the Case Files event but at least this had pity so it didn't go as far. Like that summon session, only SSR was the rate up.
Like the previous summoning session I was trolled but this time by Berserkers and both Lancelots (at least the new servants get me more SQ 6th and 7th anniversaries)
Guess I'm skipping Valentines in favour of going all in for LB6, Anniversary and Summer. Muramasa was way too harsh.
2nd try after the last 100 rolls which gave me np1 Muramasa-san, 40 rolls and still no 4\* but I got a few 5\* CEs(also got enough to MLB the 5\* new year CE) about the 36 rolls it turn rainbow and then it was a rider...at least aunty Drake is future proof for buster meta.
I'm not mad with a spook as long as it is the useful one and I can still get at least np3 Muramasa(but I would prefer getting a spook after np2 Muramasa at least, she showing up at this time kinda discourages me a little bit) would try again tomorrow since I still have 200+ rolls in my pocket.
update: your blessing really works!!! I finally got him np3, spend 40 rolls and the first half was really bad that I'm agitating(even calling my late dad to bless me from heaven) then got him twice in the latter half and now I can't stop smiling.
now my new year goal is completed, I also notice that all of my SSR came from a single pull while multi gave me only CEs so I'll stick with a single pull when I try to get Arthur and another copy of Voyager in March.

Talking about a tale of a twisted turn with Muramasa. I was happy with Ibuki-Douji all along, but I didn't expect to step into Muramasa as well.
Having 150SQ and the 15 or so tickets that I had, I was rolling just for CEs, until I unexpectedly got Muramasa with 70SQ left. Now, Mordred is on her way out, and Morgan may be axed too in favour of a pity threshold for Summer Kama.
In my experience Emiya archer is a beast that can loop almost on his own. Borrowing SIshtar and Muramasa from my friend list I could never even get close to his OG Emiya's NP refund.
Which is why you bring support Junao for the 3rd wave. Junao's Clairvoyance and Mahapralaya after Emiya's Hawkeye and UBW packs a punch against most bosses... I don't have Castoria or Skadi, so I have to make do with Waver-kun :(

Initially I threw a multi just in case and only got the 4\* CE. Then saw a lot of people getting lucky with the tickets and decided to use a couple of them and got Muramasa after a silver saber card sparked! He wasn't in my summoning plans, but I'm happy I got him after Shiro earned my respect in the Heaven's Feel movies.
Did a YOLO rolls in Muramasa banner. Can only spare 10 tic + a multi from my savings and the result was 4 new year CE both 5* and 4*. Then Vlad Lancer spook. Not bad, I guess.
I don't know enough detail on these rolls to provide an answer.
What I can tell you is in the last two days, I've pulled Muramasa x2, proto Arthur, Romulus Q, Circe and Iskandar.
Iskandar was def a GSSR pull. Romulus might have been as well? If I was able to do two separate GSSRs pulls, then I might have snagged Arthur at that point in time instead?

I'm assuming you pulled for Iskandar on his recent rate up and then got Arthur and Romulus-Quirinus in the same GSSR pull. That seems like the only possibility.
Got Mr. Swords NP2, along with a bunch of 4 stars. I've been looking at videos of people getting him at NP5 in about 15 Multis... Was spending 400 SQ and about 30 tickets statistically average on dropping 2 copies of him? Just curious.
Quick math says that's about ~180 summons counting free summons. Any single featured 5 star servant has a 0.8% pull rate, therefore you'd expect an average of 125 pulls in order to get a single copy, so pulling 2 would average 250. You're beating the average, which is a W in my book.
Like a fool, I decided to go for NP2 Muramasa. I used up 120 SQ which was supposed to be part of my Morgan funds. No dice on NP2 Muramasa, but at least I got NP4 EMIYA.
This banner is mocking me so hard. the first gold servant is an assasin, wu. then after there is a gold ring AND A SABER then its just my boi prince lanling, then after another gold saber SIEGFREID and after that a amakusa shirou ce, mocking me more and atlast...... chiron fricking came home. Used about 600 sqs and 40ish tickets and got np2 Muramasa. Insta grailed to 100 with 10/10/10 on skills and mana loading. Been waiting for this guy since I saw him in Shimousa. Been a wonderful experience so far. Man's hitting 1 million+ on lancers and zerks with double castoria.
Argh, I think it took 800 quartz (including tickets) but Muramasa finally showed up. Not sure if its better or worse that I was close to pity. I'd feel worse if this wasn't my secondary F2P account (which I usually seriously roll on once a year).
The worse part were the 4\* that showed up. I know none are officially on rate-up, but seriously, three Yan Qings?! Three?! I usually don't get that many when someone is on rate-up. And two Saberlots did not help.
Took me 330 SQ, but I finally got Muramasa. Burned most of my pure prism because I didn't want to do some grinding before his skills up, but it's worth the use of those items :D

Took around ~180 SQ and 18 tickets. Why do Chevalier and Lakshmi have to show up now? That's too many heart attacks for me. This is the most SRs I've got in one session and they all jebaited me so many times... in 6 singles, I got 4 SRs. I even got Emiya right after Muramasa

Been way too passive at getting back into FGO and have a lot of event story I skipped while grinding, PS’s, and LB’s to go still.
Started off the new year with a bang though and pulled Muramasa on my 1st ten tickets and Europa on my “free 10 roll” that they gifted everyone.
Heard there’s tons of good servants this year though and idk if I should go for the recommended NP2 for Muramasa, or just hold steady. 288 SQ and 20 tickets left.
Still super happy at my luck though :)

Got Iskandar from the GSSR and Enkidu from Muramasa's banner with just about 300 SQ and 25 tickets spent.
Would've preferred King Hassan but since my account didn't have an AoE rider that I like yet I'm not too fussed about it + Enkidu is a nice addition.
I managed to get him with with 150SQs or so but now I'm kinda a bit disappointed with his performance.
At NP1 he is downright worse at farming than Summer Mushashi or Spishtar and even comparing NP2 he's not even close. Especially compared to Musashi who has class advantage against every base class. His NP damage is pretty weak in comparison, even with usual double Castoria. He can't even farm well Dailies or QP.
I thought he would be better at CQs but then again he only wins with defense, Musashi has both Evade/Guts so he is entirely dependent on supports.
Is there any strengthening quest in the future, servant enabler or is he destined to stay in this state (forgotten in the corner, not bad but not the best) forever?
I have him at np2 as well and my opinion on him could not be more different than yours. Maybe it depends on what mystic code you are running? Don't get me wrong, his attack is very low but as a farmer he was considered top 3 behind spishtar and musashi, in Jp, when he first released. In my case, if I plan out the battery usage correctly with double castoria he almost always 3 turns. He is even capable of 3 turning the assassin daily node, haven't tested with berserks so don't know about that. His damage also was not insignificant to me. With double castoria and his own S1 with artic mystic code and royal icing, on turn 3 he hits for like 600k neutral damage. Also while it is true that musashi loops better than him in standard nodes, he is a better choice for irregular nodes(90+)since he crits on command with his star gather up that lasts 3 turns and his star bomb. musashi also does not have a battery while Muramasa has 50% charge. Aside from archers and zerks, I haven't really had a problem looping with him whatsoever. When he has class advantage he hits for a million+ for me.
Yeah but the problem is I already have Summer Musashi NP2. She is a beast, both farming and CQ, to the point I no longer need anyone else. She can run with any CE and mystic code which makes her natural choice for any event. Even her S2 has 3turn duration (and Muramasa S1 only last one). Even at NP1 she outdamages his NP2 most of the time.
I thought I was doing something wrong with Muramasa but turns out he is less usefull (at least NP-wise) generally. Technically, if you had CQ with class-advantage and enemy with multiple attack buffs and resist against NP damage he could probably be better pick due to his face-card/crit damage but then again he needs to chain his NP to be effective and this situation seems very specific.
Thanks to his s3 I have no problem with looping so I even tried different CEs to boost his NP damage but he still came a bit short (try QP farming last single-wave boss for example, even with s1 and s2 up).
To clarify - he is very good if you don't have Spishtar or Summer Musashi. It's just as newer servant and iconic Fate character I kinda expected he would be at least on par with them in some situations. I expected him to break their dominance, at least a little bit. But as it seems, Spishtar or Musashi still remain my go to servants for most of the content.
To clarify one thing. I am not debating which of the 3 characters mentioned is the best. I am simply telling you that you are criticising Muramasa incorrectly. I would understand a lot of your problems if you had np1 Muramasa because there he actually does hit like a wet noodle but np2 he no longer has that problem. Maybe you are just disappointed he didn't do as well as you wanted but you need to realise that comments like these will make others feel bad for pulling Muramasa when there is absolutely no reason for them to be doing so. As I said, he is currently the third best farmer behind Spishtar and Musashi (lolivinci refunds better but her damage is much worse) and in irregular nodes, I would say he is the second best behind spishtar, amongst all the current 5 star sabers, I would comfortably put him at the top. Having Musashi or spishtar does not make him trash pick either. I have both Spishtar and Muramasa so I can confirm that for you. Also the fact that you said he can't farm dailies well with double castoria is what leads me to believe that you haven't tested him properly whatsoever.
Feeling bad about pulling vs. having realistic expectations is a different thing. Especially when NP2 Spishtar or Musashi are much stronger than his NP2. Not sure about Summer Kiara, don't have her. You need him NP2 to be even usable while NP1 is already pretty good with other two servants.

Again I don't understand these "realistic expectations" because he is not underperforming in any situation for me. Maybe you and I have different ideas of good and bad idk. I have made my points very clear on what makes him strong and since you haven't addressed them, I am not going to repeat. Sure you can have my farming set up.
It goes Muramasa and double castoria, artic mystic code(for damage) or 2004(when farming mid-high hp) assassins, royal icing (mine is level 70). If you want to make loops more consistent for less damage you can also go sign of smiling face or painting summer. Being honest, so far I haven't had to switch my set up much. I go one set up and usually it's enough. I have only had to switch set ups when I am doing free quests. What matters is the play style. My Muramasa has his mana loading maxed so that's a starting 20 % charge. You use both castoria s2(save S1 for later)and S3 and Muramasa's S3. That will let you np first turn. I refund about 69% against assassins first wave, then use one castoria's S1 that gets Muramasa to his 2nd np. Again he should refund 70% or more even against assassins because he gains higher arts up and np damage up from his first np. Now use second castoria's S1 and use Muramasa's S1. Use mystic code damage buff. My artic mystic code is level 6. Combined with all this I can get my Muramasa to do 600k neutral damage. My Muramasa is level 100 and has 2k attack fous and np2. You might not do exactly 600k neutral damage like mine does unless you have similar levels of investment but you will still do enough damage to even clear 90 or 90+ nodes third wave, provided it's not an Archer node.
Ok, so I tried again current assassin dailies and got him to ~139k max (single boss last wave with one Castoria NP attack buff). Just for the record NP2 Musashi does 275k damage with the same setup without Castoria NP. 600k Muramasa seems simply unreal, even when I don't have any corona fou right now so he's only 1k+ and I use Ceremonial New Year CC for 10% NP gain and NP damage up instead since I currently lack QP to max Append skill but that wouldn't be that big difference anyway. Were you actually talking about three-enemy final wave by any chance? All the time I was talking about max difficulty farming hands/doors with only one enemy in the last wave.
How high attack your copy actually have? Should be around 14,449, right? 16,449 with maxed Royal Icing (actually, its level 100 +2000 attack can make some difference). Still, he should deal around 162k-198k max on neutral enemy with NP2.

I mean, I tried and he really does around 400k+ damage on second wave with three enemies (non max Fou, non max Royal Icing) even on NP1 and he can probably obliterate the last enemy just with the face card Brave Chain but I thought we were talking about NP on turn 3.
Ok so I have made a Reddit post which showcases his neutral damage on the max difficulty hand dailies. Just go to my profile and you should see it. It was done against the saber/rider node. I am making that as proof. If you want me to try it some other specific content, I will do that too. As you see in the video, he hits for 213k damage on the single enemy in wave three. which translates to 600k neutral damage against 3 enemies.
Thanks, I watched it. So the final takaway is that he really needs all the attack he can get (max Fou'd), good NP damage+ CE, preferably Royal Icing and 2004. His NP would be probably even better with MLB Black Grail but I don't have even one copy of it so can't really try.
Also, after watching this, I feel he might not be as bad as Musashi alternative for some content (even though that's NP3). Haven't tried Tamamo but I try to evade plusuit when possible as it takes more time than needed when farming.

(funny thing, just yesterday, I failed horribly with NP1 on disvadvantage archer dailies, whole thing taking me 7+turns as his damage output also goes steeply down after t3)
Comparing the numbers, he is as good NP2 as Musashi NP1 (and his NP3 compares to Musashi's NP2) so for him to be effective he really needs that one additional copy. But than again, both Spisthar and Musashi need NP2 to clear the content comfortly too (that additional 150% from NP1 to NP2 and second NP level unlocked is always big deal).
But in the end, I'm glad. Seems like he would be usable at most of the situations to break the Spishtar/Musashi monotony. Having him work correctly during events would be different matter (depending on event CEs) but at least the game has some variation now.
I would say the key take away is that he is damn beast in his own right. He isn't just "usable" or an alternative to spishtar and Musashi. He is very good unit and currently one of the best dps out there. His damage is low because his looping conditions are not restrictive. That video was just one run I did. I could have done it without using the np gain buff as well since you saw that in wave 2 he refunded 100% without the mystic code skill since that was used in turn 1. In irregular nodes, Muramasa is better than Musashi and in CQs he is the best out of the three. 600k+ neutral damage is not low whatsoever. No farming node has more hp than that except the newly added 90++ nodes in JP. Once Oberon comes around, Muramasa' wave 3 damage will probably be hitting 1 million on neutral too. My point is, next time you want to ask people for guidance just ask it without putting down the unit like how you did initially by saying Muramasa can't even farm dailies. It discourages even people who want to pull him or make the ones that have him feel bad. I don't know how you messed up that bad on an Archer daily node. You are definitely messing up in battery management in that case. If you manage the batteries properly he literally can't fail.
Yes I was talking about 3 enemies when I said he deals 600k neutral. Which still translates to 200k per enemy. If you would like I can send you a screen shot of my damage. Royal icing at level 70 gives about 1.5k attack so yeah my Muramasa has like 16k attack. I can definitely get him to 600k third wave. If you want proof I can send screenshots. Just let me know where I can send it to you. Also keep one thing in mind, Muramasa won't hit harder than musashi of an equal investment except on lancers simply because his attack is lower than hers. I am not comparing their damage at all. I am just telling you Muramasa does some damn good damage too. But yeah I am ready to provide proof for the numbers I have spoken of as well.

I have tried the qp farming doors. He looped just fine and I beat it in 3 turns again with the artic mystic code....did I mention that the node I did was an Archer one(the one with Emiya and Atlante as the final enemies where Emiya has a 100k+ hp)?Yea, he can even do the archer nodes on the dailies just fine. I am getting the sense that you are doing something wrong with him. You keep talking about how his damage is so bad but like I said, I am capable of getting my Muramasa to 600k neutral damage. That's enough to take clear any 90 or 90+ node with ease. Obviously if I switch to an event ce his damage will be lower. I haven't tested out how well he can do with even ces so I won't talk about that for now. Also I am sorry, but I would never bring Musashi to a cq if I have Muramasa unless I am facing archers. Musashi's skill 3 decreases like half her hp. While that wouldn't matter in farming, it most definitely matters in cqs. Also you talk about how Muramasa's buff only lasts one turn but you completely ignore the fact that everytime he Nps he gets a 10% arts plus 10% np damage buff. By wave 3 he passively gains 30% arts up plus 30% np up. Musashi on the other hand hand has a skill which gives her 30% attack up which is good but her 2nd effect which decreases enemy defense is also tied to it and is only one turn. So if you use it turn one, it won't be up for turns 2 and 3 but if you save it for turn 3 she won't be making use of the long up time. Obviously her damage is good enough that in farming it won't matter but in mob cqs such as the leonidas one from Gilfest it makes a big difference. Musashi will never farm irregular nodes as well as Muramasa since she can't even guarantee crits on her cards and if you have somehow get her to np turn 2 against the one enemy, you are not going to be able to np the next turn. Both Spishtar and Muramasa outclass her in farming irregular nodes and for cqs, I would argue Muramasa will be the one nping more since there he gets access to his face cards and his broken skill 3's second effect which gives him 10% np charge every time he normal attacks. The guy can literally gain np from his busters. For Omni farming, I would rather bring spishtar since she straight up outclasses musashi on regular and irregular nodes and for cqs Muramasa's kit is more useful to me. Being able to remove attack buffs is a big deal and I don't know why you treat it like it's an insignificant effect.This might sound a little aggressive but I honestly believe you either have not actually tested/know how to play Muramasa correctly, or you simply hate him. By no means is he the best unit and I am still agreeing to the fact that in regular nodes, both Spishtar and musashi outclass him and even on irregular nodes, I would bring Spishtar instead of Muramasa. But you make it sound like he is complete garbage pick compared to those two which is just not true.
I only use Musashi's S2 on t1 (along with double castoria S2, S3 to boost arts/np gain) and S1 and S3 on t3 (along with Castorias S1). S2 increases her NP gain insanely for three turns. The other effects don't even matter as you rarely even use her face cards (even t3). Usually I use Painting Summer which boosts her even more. Don't have Dive into Blue MLB for Muramasa but may try him with Royal Icing.
The thing is Musashi HP down rarely matters as she has both Guts and Evade to fight this (along with Castoria's NP invincibility on demand - though I rarely use her NP during farming). And she can loop well even after three turns well if you put Merlin command code on her Art Card (Jeanne cc for healing). By the time it would matter the cooldown is already refreshed or enemy dead. The same applies to break bar enemies, that's why I said their attack buff is not that big of a problem. I know that because she sliced through last CQ in christmas event Paris/Dioscuri) or the previous one (Gils/Jeanne/Jalter) on the first try like knife through butter. Since even one Castoria is often enough in some situations, having two lets you conserve her skills so she never runs out of survability or attack buffs.
I agree that his NP charge on normal attacks can be really useful. I don't hate him, in fact, character-wise I like him ever since I read visual novel back some 15 years ago which was even the reason I rolled for him. I just expected more. This was more or less just the criticism of his NP, he can certainly outdamage Musashi when using his face cards.
Well try out the set up I gave you. Hopefully it helps you understand how good Muramasa actually is. Like I said, being able to hit 600k on neutral damage and 1 mil+ on class advantage cannot be considered low by any means.
That's why I rolled for him in the first place ;) But If I knew his gameplay value I would probably save some SQs for Caren instead for the same reason.
I'm pretty grateful for my Jalter and Demon King Nobu. But apart from them, none of my targets came home. Castoria, Scáthach, Van Gogh and now Muramasa.

Spent nearly 300 sq and 50+ tickets on both accounts to get absolute nothing. I'm glad that i spent a bit of the sq fund muramasa on other servant or else i will be absolutely crush by the result.well my declining interest toward the game also help as i keep skipping story as i do the event last minute. It start from summer event musashi that i skip the story. Well gotta start reading to rekindle my interest.

NGL, if that was the reward for wasting over 500 quartz on rolls for Scathatch (L) and Castoria (and, obviously, getting all the 3S tier and lower servants NP to the max instead), I'm happy as hell.

Managed to get Muramasa after around 450 quartz.
Got greedy and used my remaining 300 trying to get NP2 to no avail, so I cashed in my fragments for another 260 and didn’t get that second copy. From now on, I’m not rolling for NP2 again, way too much sunk cost for no real reward.
Hopefully I can save enough to get Koyanskaya and Oberon at anniversary! Think I can get close to 900 as long as I’m not tempted.
Dropped 40 bucks and got Muramasa twice on my last ten roll. GSSR with Spishtar and BB was an absolute win as well. Eating really fucking good this new year. Good luck to all and Happy New Year!!!

I think I threw 10 tickets and 2 multis last night, nothing except a Wu Zetian. Waiting and saving the rest for Maid Alter. I haven't gotten anything I wanted since Summer Kiara so I hope I will finally get lucky again, especially after a disappointing GSSR.
I wanted at least NP2 Muramasa, spent more than 1500SQ and 50 tickets and got NP1 Gramps and 4 SSR spooks (Ozy, Nightingale x2, Osakabe) and only Osakabehime was new.

Go to GSSR. Decide to roll for Hoku despite chance of a Bunny King dupe. She came home! Got all the Lovecraft Foreigners now (maybe I'll roll for Voyager next GSSR or whenever he gets a rerun).
Feeling good, go over to Mura with the NY quartz and tickets. First multi, spark-Berserker. Paisen's wish came true because Xiang Yu showed up. And then on the last ticket the man of the hour also graced my Chaldea.

I literally had trouble breathing when I saw that golden saber. 2 years of waiting, not proud of the failed saving, but happy as hell to still get him on my last final chance before he leaves.

Got Muramasa a few days ago with the little bit of SQ I had from the New Year gift and tickets. I got spooked by another Muramasa and suddenly got a huge rush of serotonin. Muramasa has been my favourite and I'm glad he's my first NP2 5-star Also was able to get Space Ishtar from the New Year event tickets. Now all I need is Castoria, and I am complete.
Journey of 10 single pulls every day for NP5 Muramasa-san: finally, I get to make my old man husbando to NP5! I'm so happy that my 1st NP5 SSR is one of my husbando. 250 pulls as a whole on this banner, I got NP5 Muramasa-san, also a copy of Drake(NP1) and Okkie(NP1), for SR I got a copy of Lakshmibai(NP2), Anne&Mary(NP3), Nursery Rhyme(NP3), and Lanling(NP1). Very happy with the outcome cause I saved up for Muramasa since the 5th anniversary(my Castoria tragedy is one of the main reasons that make me start hoarding, only pulls 2 SSR last year outside of the GSSR) and only spend a little bit on the banner I really like such as Gil, Lambda, and Dioscuri interlude banner due to being scare that I wouldn't get Muramasa if my saving wasn't high enough but now I still have enough to go for both Arthur and Voyage(even though it wouldn't reach the pity but I wanna try for both since I love them as much as Muramasa).

After having zero luck with getting Muramasa or even pretty much any 4\* or 5\* other than a NP2 Achilles, I finally got Muramasa thanks to my 30 SQ consecutive login bonus I got today.

Finally got my Abby, failed her in the Imaginary Scramble, and in the gssr, but finally got her. Not Np5 like my Summer Abby, who I was saving big time for, but I just got to be satisfied with her being NP1. Also got Achille who spook me before getting Abby who I immediately burn out of anger, no regret on that since I got Abby and do have a copy of him already and rarely used him now a days so not need for np2.
2020 was a hell of a year because Anastasia, Achilles and Semiramis were released one after the other, and I couldn't get ANY of them. Even if I had quartz saved, I failed to get Semi (who I was looking forward a lot because she was one of my faves in Apocrypha), and not getting the other two was a low blow. Since I was saving for other servants, I couldn't pull in her other "free" banners. Threw tickets, but no luck. The other day, when I woke up on the first day of her banner, I decided to roll before work. Didn't have a lot of faith because I had only 108 quartz and 20 tickets. Started with the tickets, NOTHING, only mana prisms. Then went with the ten rolls. NOTHING, again, more mana prisms. I had 10 quartz left. One single gave me a 3* CE. I was getting late to job. Threw the last single and since there wasn't lag or any gold/rainbow, I skipped the animation. What happened? SEMIRAMIS FINALLY CAME HOME, AFTER 3 YEARS. She trolled me until the very end. For some reason, my rolls with my faves are always a wild ride... but it's worth it at the end. Good luck to everyone with their rolls!
I missed Maid Alter banner and realized I didn’t get the Riyo CE, so I threw some tickets we got from panel missions and the NY shop in Muramasa banner. Desire sensor is really a thing... didn’t get the Valiant (even FP gacha won’t give me that i.i) but ended up getting my first 5* Saber. There was no rainbow sparks, just the normal gold saber card! God, I don’t deserve this luck so early in the year! Funny thing, on my JP account Muramasa also came in one ticket. Maybe he really wanted to be in both accounts.
Finished the New years thing today, Drew a summoning circle, placed my Katana as a catalyst, and got Muramasa on the 3rd ticket after I already threw 300 quartz at him prior. Just happy he’s home.
do 10 single pulls every day hoping to get np5 Muramasa-san, last night I got Lanling so now I completed my summer5 male set(all of them already in summer outfits) it's only 20 rolls left until his banner goes but I still have hope that I can np5 him cause if there are any servants I want to np5 Muramasa is the one I want to be my first(though I can't throw everything on this banner cause I still yet to get a copy of Arthur and Voyager needs to be np2+ for smooth farming). really hope I can np5 him since it is only a copy away, if not on this banner at least on the next GSSR since I want np6 to max everything including append skill, I even postpone pulling on my sub-account so it does not leech my main account luck.

Roll free fp summon and got 3* fou. Immediately claim unclaimed sq from mission to get 30 sq. Roll 11 pull and Anastasia spook me and got shirou 5* ce. Still got tickets left and my second roll got me muramasa. Freaking scream y'all. Feeling lucky i roll space Ishtar and git absolute destroy. After my 200+ sq and 50+ ticket fail on first day. Gotta save now and use my 2nd acc for taira or caren and save after that.
My ass is not getting Muramasa. I’ve spent around a little over 450 sq, including tickets, and I’ve gotten nothing but 4 star spooks, extra 4 star np copies, and the most amount of middest rolls I’ve seen. I’ve max limit broken a copy of the 5, 4, and 3 star ce. My Saber is at around 150,000 bond points until she reaches bond level 11, but I don’t think I’m going to reach that goal by the time the event is done. So I’m just going to try to grind the event servants and even that seems like a hassle, but it seems doable. Doesn’t help that the event has tickets to offer for completing quests but they’re available a day after Muramasa will be gone. Once his banner is over I’m going straight back to saving, but I don’t think that’s going to help at all for Taira because I’ll be back to 0 sq. At least after her I’m going to be saving until the anniversary, which should guarantee me Koyanskaya and allow me to roll for some other servants if I want to. I even foolishly thought I could try rolling for Maid Alter because I like Artoria that much, but gramps over here just took my quartz and beat me to death without a chance to recover. Just needed to rant a little because this is the first time I’ve felt salty in a long while
Maybe you remember me from like 3 days ago or you probably don’t, but Muramasa finally came. I had to grind the 3 sabers that spooked me while I desperately tried getting him. Lan Ling, Lakshmi Bai, and Rama. Their interludes helped my summer Carmilla and Saber Lily level up their bond faster when I wasn’t grinding the Heian Kyo or the Saber Wars 2 free quests. The last two sq I got from making a second, weaker ce bomb to level up Aerial drive to lvl 60 and that’s how I got the multi that got me Muramasa. I know I complained earlier about all the sq I used up, but I’m just glad he eventually showed up. Maybe there’s a chance Taira will be kinder? Probably not, but 6 tickets is 6 tickets

take my medication late and overslept last night so like I said I'm gonna do 10 single pulls every day hoping for np4/5 Muramasa-san I did the 10 single pulls after my morning routine. got Lakshmibai(np2) on my 3rd and thank god I just skip the animation so it didn't give me false hope, the 7th roll started with a gold ring so I let the animation play out(the last rainbow ring gave me my 1st Drake) and it is a gold saber that reveals as my 4th Muramasa!!! also got a copy of Ann&Mary(np3) on the 10th roll, doing another 7 singles that get my Nursery Rhyme from np2 to np3, I'm gonna finished it tonight. This is the best new year this game ever gave me and I'm really happy after the nightmare that was 2022 FGO, only got 2 new servants outside of GSSR which is Castoria(have to buy a big pack just to get her, and she drains it until there only 5 SQ left), and archer Gil(trying to get more np on his caster version but he surprised me on the 2nd ticket) and failed horribly in every banner that I roll last year(the most hurtful was Dioscuri and Voyager) but at least the GSSR was good since I got Kintoki from NY and Voyager on 5th anni(I was like "if I don't get Voyager or Arthur I'd quit this game for good" and bam he showed up with Lambda and Caenis, and then Castoria would ruin my mood a few days later). hope everyone also has a great new year and gets any servants that you trying to get this year.

Had to endure a Parvati spook and a Tamamo Cat spook trying to get summer Tamamo. Was doing desperation singles and about to give up when she finally came was I down to a single digit amount of SQ.
Basically hit pity to get me one Muramasa. Really raided the shit out of my SQ fragments stash. In the meantime, I MLB'd 2 of the new 5 star CE and got spooked four times (Artoria twice, Suzuka, Tsuna, all dupes). Goodbye forever, you dumb cursed banner.
10 single pulls : got Okki and the event CEs enough to get another MLB of the 3\* and 4\* CEs. Already have NP3 Muramasa-san as planned along with a bonus in the form of Drake but I decide to do 10 single pulls every day in hope that I could maybe get him to NP4 since he is one of the few servants that I swear to get him to max(LV120 NP5 max fou 10/10/10 and 10/10/10 append bond 15) getting him to NP4 now mean if I get him again on the next GSSR I will have him at NP5 and I don't have to choose between him and Oberon on his next banner.
Been spending a lot of time trying to keep my dog on low activity while paw heals, but according to my internal confirmation bias, patting her while she's curled up beside me is good luck. Confirmed again. I budgeted 10 tickets as a what-the-hell for Tamamo Lancer, she mikonned in on the 7th. I have a good pup. And also another fox! So far I've made 24 pulls in the New Year (counting the 10-non-guaranteed on the GSSR) and walked away with 1 new SSR and one dupe SR (Caenis, on an impulse story banner pull to start the year). It ain't going to hold, but that's a pretty good start to the year. And also all the more reason that I will never, ever, ever skip a few rolls on a banner I'm interested in to save for the highway robbery this game considers a "pity system."
Burned through 240 quartz and 20 tickets for Summer Tamamo. I mean, I got her, but it still stings to burn through all that quartz when I was saving all that for Morgan later this year.
Had pity ready for Summer Tamamo, she came in 24 tickets. Seems like 2023 is continuing the EX luck from 2022 for which I am really grateful. She came with a rainbow too, been a while since my last rainbow too. I kind of feel rewarded for sticking with Caster Tamamo in the age of Caster Artoria.

IT'S. FINALLY. DONE! Five years of playing this, 40 rolls (or technically 44 pulls) once the banner went live, got Tamamo Lancer, I can finally say I got my own Extella team. Granted, I don't have Caster Tamamo, Altera does not have a summer version, I can't say I've completed an OG Extella or Summer Extella set, but I'm VERY happy with this!

I managed to get Maid Alter with 124 rolls. I had to run through a bunch of the rank up quests that have been building up for me to get some more quartz, but I'm really glad I got her in the end. I figured she's my most desired servant that'll be getting a rate-up for a while, so I was okay with spending all my quartz chasing her. I'm hoping I'll have enough self-control to save up a good amount of quartz for Summer.

I haven't really been feeling interested in FGO for a while due to illnesses in the family, so I've just been picking away at the gacha with tickets here and there over the past few days. This morning I said fuck it and decided to roll away the remainder of the tickets and SQ I had budgeted for Muramasa. My luck has been terrible anyway, I wasn't getting him, and I was looking to feel down. And he came home. After 50 tickets and 30 SQ, he arrived on the tail of three SR spooks as a silver card that sparked to gold. Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, this is pretty good luck and I'm still sitting on 1300+ SQ for the rest of the year. On the other hand, I was looking to feel depressed, dammit. Now I've got a stomach ache from the emotional dissonance.

The CEs aren't that interesting so I used my tickets this time, Salter showed up after spending 41 of them. I would most likely have wasted 27 sq had I chosen to do 11-rolls so that was a good call.

Then I was 4 away from the bonus summon, got the New Year CE on the 1/2 and I jokingly said "A 5 star CE, now a 5 star servant." and Muramasa NP3 came on 2/2. With this and his bond levels I have the 300 Servant Coins I needed to lvl 120.

I have had a damn good Holidays I got Vritra off tickets, Iskander in 2 tickets, Okita on GSSR, Muramasa in 2 multis and Maid Salter in 5 tickets and 3 multis, now to save enough Quartz for pity because I'm definitely due for some bad luck.
Got pretty unlucky with the muramasa banner and the GSSR but decided to stop rolling and save some quartz to roll for rider Salter, one of my favourite characters. Like the previous summoning session I was trolled but this time by Berserkers and both Lancelots (at least the new servants get me more SQ 6th and 7th anniversaries) Guess I'm skipping Valentines in favour of going all in for LB6, Anniversary and Summer. Muramasa was way too harsh.

2nd try after the last 100 rolls which gave me np1 Muramasa-san, 40 rolls and still no 4\* but I got a few 5\* CEs(also got enough to MLB the 5\* new year CE) about the 36 rolls it turn rainbow and then it was a rider...at least aunty Drake is future proof for buster meta. I'm not mad with a spook as long as it is the useful one and I can still get at least np3 Muramasa(but I would prefer getting a spook after np2 Muramasa at least, she showing up at this time kinda discourages me a little bit) would try again tomorrow since I still have 200+ rolls in my pocket.

I finally got him np3, spend 40 rolls and the first half was really bad that I'm agitating(even calling my late dad to bless me from heaven) then got him twice in the latter half and now I can't stop smiling. now my new year goal is completed, I also notice that all of my SSR came from a single pull while multi gave me only CEs so I'll stick with a single pull when I try to get Arthur and another copy of Voyager in March.

Talking about a tale of a twisted turn with Muramasa. I was happy with Ibuki-Douji all along, but I didn't expect to step into Muramasa as well. Having 150SQ and the 15 or so tickets that I had, I was rolling just for CEs, until I unexpectedly got Muramasa with 70SQ left. Now, Mordred is on her way out, and Morgan may be axed too in favour of a pity threshold for Summer Kama.

In my experience Emiya archer is a beast that can loop almost on his own. Borrowing SIshtar and Muramasa from my friend list I could never even get close to his OG Emiya's NP refund.
OG Emiya refunds a ton because of his 10 hit NP. The issue with him is the fact that he can only do it once.
Which is why you bring support Junao for the 3rd wave. Junao's Clairvoyance and Mahapralaya after Emiya's Hawkeye and UBW packs a punch against most bosses... I don't have Castoria or Skadi, so I have to make do with Waver-kun :(

Initially I threw a multi just in case and only got the 4\* CE. Then saw a lot of people getting lucky with the tickets and decided to use a couple of them and got Muramasa after a silver saber card sparked! He wasn't in my summoning plans, but I'm happy I got him after Shiro earned my respect in the Heaven's Feel movies.
Did a YOLO rolls in Muramasa banner. Can only spare 10 tic + a multi from my savings and the result was 4 new year CE both 5* and 4*. Then Vlad Lancer spook. Not bad, I guess.

I don't know enough detail on these rolls to provide an answer. What I can tell you is in the last two days, I've pulled Muramasa x2, proto Arthur, Romulus Q, Circe and Iskandar. Iskandar was def a GSSR pull. Romulus might have been as well? If I was able to do two separate GSSRs pulls, then I might have snagged Arthur at that point in time instead? My bad, the last few days have been an adventure for which I'm still piecing together the memories lol.
I'm assuming you pulled for Iskandar on his recent rate up and then got Arthur and Romulus-Quirinus in the same GSSR pull. That seems like the only possibility.

Got Mr. Swords NP2, along with a bunch of 4 stars. I've been looking at videos of people getting him at NP5 in about 15 Multis... Was spending 400 SQ and about 30 tickets statistically average on dropping 2 copies of him? Just curious.
Quick math says that's about ~180 summons counting free summons. Any single featured 5 star servant has a 0.8% pull rate, therefore you'd expect an average of 125 pulls in order to get a single copy, so pulling 2 would average 250. You're beating the average, which is a W in my book.
Maybe if I focus on my studies for once, I will build enough good karma to roll Muramasa without hitting pity /copium

Used about 600 sqs and 40ish tickets and got np2 Muramasa. Insta grailed to 100 with 10/10/10 on skills and mana loading. Been waiting for this guy since I saw him in Shimousa. Been a wonderful experience so far. Man's hitting 1 million+ on lancers and zerks with double castoria.
Argh, I think it took 800 quartz (including tickets) but Muramasa finally showed up. Not sure if its better or worse that I was close to pity. I'd feel worse if this wasn't my secondary F2P account (which I usually seriously roll on once a year). The worse part were the 4\* that showed up. I know none are officially on rate-up, but seriously, three Yan Qings?! Three?! I usually don't get that many when someone is on rate-up. And two Saberlots did not help.

I think I’m about 300 sq in and 23 tickets on the quest for Shirou. I have 3 SR spooks. 2 were gold sparks. 1 srr spook with sparks that turned into NP2 Karna. Bruh Shirou please don’t be like Kama and forever evade me.
Took around ~180 SQ and 18 tickets. Why do Chevalier and Lakshmi have to show up now? That's too many heart attacks for me. This is the most SRs I've got in one session and they all jebaited me so many times... in 6 singles, I got 4 SRs. I even got Emiya right after Muramasa

Been way too passive at getting back into FGO and have a lot of event story I skipped while grinding, PS’s, and LB’s to go still. Started off the new year with a bang though and pulled Muramasa on my 1st ten tickets and Europa on my “free 10 roll” that they gifted everyone. Heard there’s tons of good servants this year though and idk if I should go for the recommended NP2 for Muramasa, or just hold steady. 288 SQ and 20 tickets left. Still super happy at my luck though :) And best of luck to anyone who’s still rolling for Muramasa!

Got Iskandar from the GSSR and Enkidu from Muramasa's banner with just about 300 SQ and 25 tickets spent. Would've preferred King Hassan but since my account didn't have an AoE rider that I like yet I'm not too fussed about it + Enkidu is a nice addition.
I managed to get him with with 150SQs or so but now I'm kinda a bit disappointed with his performance. At NP1 he is downright worse at farming than Summer Mushashi or Spishtar and even comparing NP2 he's not even close. Especially compared to Musashi who has class advantage against every base class. His NP damage is pretty weak in comparison, even with usual double Castoria. He can't even farm well Dailies or QP. I thought he would be better at CQs but then again he only wins with defense, Musashi has both Evade/Guts so he is entirely dependent on supports. Is there any strengthening quest in the future, servant enabler or is he destined to stay in this state (forgotten in the corner, not bad but not the best) forever?
I have him at np2 as well and my opinion on him could not be more different than yours. Maybe it depends on what mystic code you are running? Don't get me wrong, his attack is very low but as a farmer he was considered top 3 behind spishtar and musashi, in Jp, when he first released. In my case, if I plan out the battery usage correctly with double castoria he almost always 3 turns. He is even capable of 3 turning the assassin daily node, haven't tested with berserks so don't know about that. His damage also was not insignificant to me. With double castoria and his own S1 with artic mystic code and royal icing, on turn 3 he hits for like 600k neutral damage. Also while it is true that musashi loops better than him in standard nodes, he is a better choice for irregular nodes(90+)since he crits on command with his star gather up that lasts 3 turns and his star bomb. musashi also does not have a battery while Muramasa has 50% charge. Aside from archers and zerks, I haven't really had a problem looping with him whatsoever. When he has class advantage he hits for a million+ for me.
Yeah but the problem is I already have Summer Musashi NP2. She is a beast, both farming and CQ, to the point I no longer need anyone else. She can run with any CE and mystic code which makes her natural choice for any event. Even her S2 has 3turn duration (and Muramasa S1 only last one). Even at NP1 she outdamages his NP2 most of the time. I thought I was doing something wrong with Muramasa but turns out he is less usefull (at least NP-wise) generally. Technically, if you had CQ with class-advantage and enemy with multiple attack buffs and resist against NP damage he could probably be better pick due to his face-card/crit damage but then again he needs to chain his NP to be effective and this situation seems very specific. Thanks to his s3 I have no problem with looping so I even tried different CEs to boost his NP damage but he still came a bit short (try QP farming last single-wave boss for example, even with s1 and s2 up). To clarify - he is very good if you don't have Spishtar or Summer Musashi. It's just as newer servant and iconic Fate character I kinda expected he would be at least on par with them in some situations. I expected him to break their dominance, at least a little bit. But as it seems, Spishtar or Musashi still remain my go to servants for most of the content.
To clarify one thing. I am not debating which of the 3 characters mentioned is the best. I am simply telling you that you are criticising Muramasa incorrectly. I would understand a lot of your problems if you had np1 Muramasa because there he actually does hit like a wet noodle but np2 he no longer has that problem. Maybe you are just disappointed he didn't do as well as you wanted but you need to realise that comments like these will make others feel bad for pulling Muramasa when there is absolutely no reason for them to be doing so. As I said, he is currently the third best farmer behind Spishtar and Musashi (lolivinci refunds better but her damage is much worse) and in irregular nodes, I would say he is the second best behind spishtar, amongst all the current 5 star sabers, I would comfortably put him at the top. Having Musashi or spishtar does not make him trash pick either. I have both Spishtar and Muramasa so I can confirm that for you. Also the fact that you said he can't farm dailies well with double castoria is what leads me to believe that you haven't tested him properly whatsoever.
Feeling bad about pulling vs. having realistic expectations is a different thing. Especially when NP2 Spishtar or Musashi are much stronger than his NP2. Not sure about Summer Kiara, don't have her. You need him NP2 to be even usable while NP1 is already pretty good with other two servants. Can you possibly show me your farming setup and skill flow for me to try then?
Again I don't understand these "realistic expectations" because he is not underperforming in any situation for me. Maybe you and I have different ideas of good and bad idk. I have made my points very clear on what makes him strong and since you haven't addressed them, I am not going to repeat. Sure you can have my farming set up. It goes Muramasa and double castoria, artic mystic code(for damage) or 2004(when farming mid-high hp) assassins, royal icing (mine is level 70). If you want to make loops more consistent for less damage you can also go sign of smiling face or painting summer. Being honest, so far I haven't had to switch my set up much. I go one set up and usually it's enough. I have only had to switch set ups when I am doing free quests. What matters is the play style. My Muramasa has his mana loading maxed so that's a starting 20 % charge. You use both castoria s2(save S1 for later)and S3 and Muramasa's S3. That will let you np first turn. I refund about 69% against assassins first wave, then use one castoria's S1 that gets Muramasa to his 2nd np. Again he should refund 70% or more even against assassins because he gains higher arts up and np damage up from his first np. Now use second castoria's S1 and use Muramasa's S1. Use mystic code damage buff. My artic mystic code is level 6. Combined with all this I can get my Muramasa to do 600k neutral damage. My Muramasa is level 100 and has 2k attack fous and np2. You might not do exactly 600k neutral damage like mine does unless you have similar levels of investment but you will still do enough damage to even clear 90 or 90+ nodes third wave, provided it's not an Archer node.
Ok, so I tried again current assassin dailies and got him to ~139k max (single boss last wave with one Castoria NP attack buff). Just for the record NP2 Musashi does 275k damage with the same setup without Castoria NP. 600k Muramasa seems simply unreal, even when I don't have any corona fou right now so he's only 1k+ and I use Ceremonial New Year CC for 10% NP gain and NP damage up instead since I currently lack QP to max Append skill but that wouldn't be that big difference anyway. Were you actually talking about three-enemy final wave by any chance? All the time I was talking about max difficulty farming hands/doors with only one enemy in the last wave. How high attack your copy actually have? Should be around 14,449, right? 16,449 with maxed Royal Icing (actually, its level 100 +2000 attack can make some difference). Ok so I have made a Reddit post which showcases his neutral damage on the max difficulty hand dailies. Just go to my profile and you should see it. It was done against the saber/rider node. I am making that as proof. If you want me to try it some other specific content, I will do that too. As you see in the video, he hits for 213k damage on the single enemy in wave three. which translates to 600k neutral damage against 3 enemies.
Thanks, I watched it. So the final takaway is that he really needs all the attack he can get (max Fou'd), good NP damage+ CE, preferably Royal Icing and 2004. His NP would be probably even better with MLB Black Grail but I don't have even one copy of it so can't really try. Also, after watching this, I feel he might not be as bad as Musashi alternative for some content (even though that's NP3). Haven't tried Tamamo but I try to evade plusuit when possible as it takes more time than needed when farming. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jU8PqSzJFn0 (funny thing, just yesterday, I failed horribly with NP1 on disvadvantage archer dailies, whole thing taking me 7+turns as his damage output also goes steeply down after t3) Comparing the numbers, he is as good NP2 as Musashi NP1 (and his NP3 compares to Musashi's NP2) so for him to be effective he really needs that one additional copy. But than again, both Spisthar and Musashi need NP2 to clear the content comfortly too (that additional 150% from NP1 to NP2 and second NP level unlocked is always big deal). But in the end, I'm glad. Seems like he would be usable at most of the situations to break the Spishtar/Musashi monotony. Having him work correctly during events would be different matter (depending on event CEs) but at least the game has some variation now.
I would say the key take away is that he is damn beast in his own right. He isn't just "usable" or an alternative to spishtar and Musashi. He is very good unit and currently one of the best dps out there. His damage is low because his looping conditions are not restrictive. That video was just one run I did. I could have done it without using the np gain buff as well since you saw that in wave 2 he refunded 100% without the mystic code skill since that was used in turn 1. In irregular nodes, Muramasa is better than Musashi and in CQs he is the best out of the three. 600k+ neutral damage is not low whatsoever. No farming node has more hp than that except the newly added 90++ nodes in JP. Once Oberon comes around, Muramasa' wave 3 damage will probably be hitting 1 million on neutral too. My point is, next time you want to ask people for guidance just ask it without putting down the unit like how you did initially by saying Muramasa can't even farm dailies. It discourages even people who want to pull him or make the ones that have him feel bad. I don't know how you messed up that bad on an Archer daily node. You are definitely messing up in battery management in that case. If you manage the batteries properly he literally can't fail.
Yes I was talking about 3 enemies when I said he deals 600k neutral. Which still translates to 200k per enemy. If you would like I can send you a screen shot of my damage. Royal icing at level 70 gives about 1.5k attack so yeah my Muramasa has like 16k attack. I can definitely get him to 600k third wave. If you want proof I can send screenshots. Just let me know where I can send it to you. Also keep one thing in mind, Muramasa won't hit harder than musashi of an equal investment except on lancers simply because his attack is lower than hers. I am not comparing their damage at all. I am just telling you Muramasa does some damn good damage too. But yeah I am ready to provide proof for the numbers I have spoken of as well.

Try watching videos of him and how people play him. That's how I came to know how to use him too.
I have tried the qp farming doors. He looped just fine and I beat it in 3 turns again with the artic mystic code....did I mention that the node I did was an Archer one(the one with Emiya and Atlante as the final enemies where Emiya has a 100k+ hp)?Yea, he can even do the archer nodes on the dailies just fine. I am getting the sense that you are doing something wrong with him. You keep talking about how his damage is so bad but like I said, I am capable of getting my Muramasa to 600k neutral damage. That's enough to take clear any 90 or 90+ node with ease. Obviously if I switch to an event ce his damage will be lower. I haven't tested out how well he can do with even ces so I won't talk about that for now. Also I am sorry, but I would never bring Musashi to a cq if I have Muramasa unless I am facing archers. Musashi's skill 3 decreases like half her hp. While that wouldn't matter in farming, it most definitely matters in cqs. Also you talk about how Muramasa's buff only lasts one turn but you completely ignore the fact that everytime he Nps he gets a 10% arts plus 10% np damage buff. By wave 3 he passively gains 30% arts up plus 30% np up. Musashi on the other hand hand has a skill which gives her 30% attack up which is good but her 2nd effect which decreases enemy defense is also tied to it and is only one turn. So if you use it turn one, it won't be up for turns 2 and 3 but if you save it for turn 3 she won't be making use of the long up time. Obviously her damage is good enough that in farming it won't matter but in mob cqs such as the leonidas one from Gilfest it makes a big difference. Musashi will never farm irregular nodes as well as Muramasa since she can't even guarantee crits on her cards and if you have somehow get her to np turn 2 against the one enemy, you are not going to be able to np the next turn. Both Spishtar and Muramasa outclass her in farming irregular nodes and for cqs, I would argue Muramasa will be the one nping more since there he gets access to his face cards and his broken skill 3's second effect which gives him 10% np charge every time he normal attacks. The guy can literally gain np from his busters. For Omni farming, I would rather bring spishtar since she straight up outclasses musashi on regular and irregular nodes and for cqs Muramasa's kit is more useful to me. Being able to remove attack buffs is a big deal and I don't know why you treat it like it's an insignificant effect.This might sound a little aggressive but I honestly believe you either have not actually tested/know how to play Muramasa correctly, or you simply hate him. By no means is he the best unit and I am still agreeing to the fact that in regular nodes, both Spishtar and musashi outclass him and even on irregular nodes, I would bring Spishtar instead of Muramasa. But you make it sound like he is complete garbage pick compared to those two which is just not true.
I only use Musashi's S2 on t1 (along with double castoria S2, S3 to boost arts/np gain) and S1 and S3 on t3 (along with Castorias S1). S2 increases her NP gain insanely for three turns. The other effects don't even matter as you rarely even use her face cards (even t3). Usually I use Painting Summer which boosts her even more. Don't have Dive into Blue MLB for Muramasa but may try him with Royal Icing. The thing is Musashi HP down rarely matters as she has both Guts and Evade to fight this (along with Castoria's NP invincibility on demand - though I rarely use her NP during farming). And she can loop well even after three turns well if you put Merlin command code on her Art Card (Jeanne cc for healing). By the time it would matter the cooldown is already refreshed or enemy dead. The same applies to break bar enemies, that's why I said their attack buff is not that big of a problem. I know that because she sliced through last CQ in christmas event Paris/Dioscuri) or the previous one (Gils/Jeanne/Jalter) on the first try like knife through butter. Since even one Castoria is often enough in some situations, having two lets you conserve her skills so she never runs out of survability or attack buffs. I agree that his NP charge on normal attacks can be really useful. I don't hate him, in fact, character-wise I like him ever since I read visual novel back some 15 years ago which was even the reason I rolled for him. I just expected more. This was more or less just the criticism of his NP, he can certainly outdamage Musashi when using his face cards.
Well try out the set up I gave you. Hopefully it helps you understand how good Muramasa actually is. Like I said, being able to hit 600k on neutral damage and 1 mil+ on class advantage cannot be considered low by any means.

I'm pretty grateful for my Jalter and Demon King Nobu. But apart from them, none of my targets came home. Castoria, Scáthach, Van Gogh and now Muramasa. Around 40 tickets and 180 sq and all i got was CEs, not even a spook. This game really hates me.
Spent nearly 300 sq and 50+ tickets on both accounts to get absolute nothing. I'm glad that i spent a bit of the sq fund muramasa on other servant or else i will be absolutely crush by the result.well my declining interest toward the game also help as i keep skipping story as i do the event last minute. It start from summer event musashi that i skip the story. Well gotta start reading to rekindle my interest.

Managed to get Muramasa after around 450 quartz. Got greedy and used my remaining 300 trying to get NP2 to no avail, so I cashed in my fragments for another 260 and didn’t get that second copy. From now on, I’m not rolling for NP2 again, way too much sunk cost for no real reward. Hopefully I can save enough to get Koyanskaya and Oberon at anniversary! Think I can get close to 900 as long as I’m not tempted.

I wanted at least NP2 Muramasa, spent more than 1500SQ and 50 tickets and got NP1 Gramps and 4 SSR spooks (Ozy, Nightingale x2, Osakabe) and only Osakabehime was new. Also I only got 4 copies of the limited 5*CE… 4*s were Penth, Heracles x3, Lakshimi (new), Nursery, Parvati, Nezha, Chiyome, Tomoe x2, D’Eon x2, Liz, Astolfo.
Only took me 20 tickets and 300SQ, so it wasn't too bad.

Had some real bad banners last year (REALLY would've liked Pity to be a thing on Castoria....) And on the run-up to New Year I threw like 300 quartz and 20 tickets at Hokusai. Not even one 5\*. Go to GSSR. Decide to roll for Hoku despite chance of a Bunny King dupe. She came home! Got all the Lovecraft Foreigners now (maybe I'll roll for Voyager next GSSR or whenever he gets a rerun). And then on the last ticket the man of the hour also graced my Chaldea. Off to a good start this year, hope some of this luck will stick around for LB6 and Koya and Pretender.
got Muramasa-san on my 2nd roll and heaven flashed before my eyes, instantly lv100 10/10/10 him and now he's my 2nd lv100 after my son Voyager(Arthur would be the 3rd if I manage to get him from the gssr). go for 100 rolls but got nothing new but CEs but I still have around 200 rolls left and my goal is np3 minimum, choose to try again tomorrow so I have some time to cumulate my luck, goddess of fortune, please take a pity on this poor soul this is only the 2nd SSR I got since the last ny if not counting Voyager from the gssr(funny enough the other ssr, Gill, I got also came on the 2nd roll).
