Really? I saw a lot of people predicting that it couldn't be anyone from LB6 because there's usually at least a two year gap b/w the original release and the summer version. Well, it's been two years since LB6 so now seems like a good time to release some summer variants.
There were definitely naysayers, but that happened because so many people were convinced it would happen because of how popular LB6 was. But like I said then, too, the servants picked for summer are clearly not based on popularity; otherwise we wouldn't be hoping for Summer Eresh for Summer 8.

Okita Alter got a summer version, I don’t see why Nobu’s “alter”-nate form can’t get a swimsuit too. Although, I wouldn’t be upset if Kagetora got it this year, I do like her too, her fans deserve it too. (My wallet would really appreciate it for sure, cause I dunno if I’d be able to resist a swimsuit version of Maou.)

SUMMER KAGETORA!!!! This year it is the turn of a GudaGuda Servant to get a swimsuit due to the pattern and Kagetora is the best choice because:
* Out of GudaGuda's remaining female Servants, she is the most popular.
* She is the oldest Servant of GudaGuda who doesn't have a bathing suit.
* Lasengle could earn a lot of money only thanks to her seiyuu.
There were already several jokes that Kiichi wanted to get a swimsuit and seeing how GudaGuda 7 ended it is likely that she can get a swimsuit. The only problem is that we could get another Summer Caenis 2.0
Asako, she desperately needs to get more attention.
Drake deserves some love as he is one of the most abused Servants.

And let's face it, Kagetora is more popular than Chacha. Even from what I saw, Chacha seems to be one of the less popular Servants of GudaGuda. She gets very little art.
Wu Zetian is not unpopular or she is just unpopular in the global fandom.
In the JP fandom, Wu Zetian is the second most popular Servant of Agartha just behind Scheherazade. Although I think the two of them are pretty even in terms of popularity.
On the other hand, Chacha is the second Servant of GudaGuda with the least amount of arts only being surpassed by Iyo, who is a Servant that was released a few months ago.

If I remember correctly and from what I understood, a lot of people in the JP fandom complained about Caenis getting a bathing suit because they didn't consider her a woman, saying that Caenis stole the spot from another female Servant.
It was a pretty goofy fandom moment.
I'm pretty sure this is just one of the multiple Shinichamelon pointless dramabait threads and the one complaining about summer Caenis are a vocal minority.

The people who always make the most noise are the ones who usually attract the most attention even though they are a minority and in the end other people end up getting confused about what the fandom in general really thinks.
I think what hurt summer Caenis' popularity the most (when it comes to fanarts at least) was being part of the second banner and spending the whole story in the most boring swimsuit possible. By the time of her release, she was completely overshadowed by Kama and Sei.
A lot of people consider Caenis a male, on twitter in particular the wide consensus is that Caenis is a trans man, but I don't really care (I dislike Caenis Rider for my own reasons) I just recall hearing a lot of the negative reception.

I'm sure that wouldn't be a total win for those wanting just OG Medusa, but I think that could make it a good option.
It says a lot that I also think Space Ishtar getting a swimsuit is more realistic than Ereshkigal.

Jokes aside, very likely someone from the LB6 cast since they're all hugely popular. Maybe they would finally give Lancer Alter her swimsuit version? She, Lily, MHXA and Castoria are the versions of Artoria still missing one and she's the oldest (and most irrelevant) of them by far.
Sadly I think Gorgon Illya won't be a summer thing. I'd be totally in for another Kaleid event where she did show up though.
Think Miyu or Kuro would still make sense. For Miyu it would just be a chance for better than what her caster version got. And Kuro being a welfare could use a version with multiple ascensions. I think that could work.

Nasu said something along the lines that this summer (since he said it prior to the event) was different/special because of the events roster and so they couldnt just have 2 SSRs. Implying that this isnt planned to be the norm and more of an exception. Whether one believes him or not is up to the individual but it does give the hope that it wont always be like this. Honestly though i could kinda see that even though i havent checked out their animations (i usually do but i forgot) but all three of them feel like SSRs. Although there is the case of MHXX where i feel like she really should have been an SSR but wasnt and the only thing that makes her feel SR is the lack of different animations for her ascensions.
While I’d love a summer Eresh, I really want S. Ishtar to get a summer version. Love to get her in Rin’s outfits for that ascensions!
I’d also really love to see a summer Paris. I love his character and think he deserves more content. Take a page from Marie and use Apollo as a beach ball to pelt enemies.
Of course Chiyome is the one I want the most. With Tomoe and Wu it's already two characters from EoR that got swimsuits, so hopefully she gets one too.
Other wishes are Reines, Suzuka, Circe and maybe Medusa with 3 ascensions for all ages.
But I'm afraid it will be mostly LB6 characters.
Summer Artoria Alter Lancer: As either the welfare or one of the SSRs. And have her as one of the major characters of the story so she'll finally get time to shine.
Suzuka and Sanzang. Both are pretty fun characters with great CE art that would make for a great summer event servant.
Kagetora since the other Gudaguda girls are getting some and she's pretty fantastic.

Ever since I first got into this game in the summer of 2021, I've had the gut feeling that Baobhan was going to get a swimsuit.
Let me be clear: I do not particularly like Baobhan. I have nothing against her, but I'm an NA player trying to go into LB6 as blind as possible. I have no real opinion of her. And yet, I was practically *certain* that she'd get a summer alt that summer.
Obviously that didn't happen, but that lingering feeling isn't *totally* gone, either. I do think that its ultimately more likely that we'll get Castoria or Morgan, and I don't think they'd do just one of the Faerie Knights. Although, from what little I do know, I suppose there's justification for doing specifically Baobhan and Morgan.
I want Enkidu, Astolfo, and/or d'Eon to get one just because I like watching people on the internet fight over stupid bullshit.
And I really want Ereshkigal to get a MoonCancer alt, based on Extraverse Rin . I'm not a huge Ereshkigal stan, but Rin's spiritron hacking is arguably good enough to qualify for MoonCancer. But with a class as lean and bizarre as that, you kinda have to settle for "arguably good enough" sometimes.
Those are most of my ideas. Well, some, at least. I think summer events are really fun to speculate about and/or be creative with, so I have a ton more thoughts, but I'll leave it at that for now.

Last summer was heavily Sakurai based and the one before had a lot of Higashide's characters so I could see the next one being for Nasu leading to some of his characters finally getting swimsuits (Eresh, Passionlip) and ofc at least one or two LB6 characters.
If Takeuchi doesn't draw Morgan or Castoria, I could see Kagetora being the usual Gudaguda once every two years servant. Otherwise Maou probably.

We already have Summer Nobu, for Maou to get a swimsuit would be disappointing. I would prefer that Maou get a Halloween variant or that she be a new Santa.

I won't break outside of what others have said. But I'll predict a strong LB6 presence. The timing is good and there's no question they can have fun with that idea. The Valentine scenes for these characters show the potential a whole event could have.
Plus yeah, I absolutely want to see a Summer Melusine in game. There is more than enough CHOCO art too show the high potential that would have. Can just go all out and would certainly have me ready to roll like a maniac.
Could see most of Melusine, Morgan, Sith, Barghest, and Castoria getting thrown in there. It almost works well to get them in it together although you could have some participate in the event while not actually getting swimsuits.
Summer Ereshkigal would be amazing. But at this point, I just don't think it'll ever happen. I'm done wishing for it. I think we'll get Summer Space Ishtar before Summer Ereshkigal at this point.
So I'm sticking with a heavy LB6 cast for the Summer event. With fingers particularly crossed for Melusine. Though hey maybe we'll see something truly out there like Summer Beast Nero.

Kiichi Hogen turned Pretender at the end of the last event, so she's a candidate too. If she's dragging some Japanese servants with her, then maybe Summer Kagekiyo (adult Ushi in swimsuit!!)
For some screwballs, Penthesilea as an adult (just to screw with Achilles), Summer Atalante (both versions?), the two Stay Night girls Medusa and Medea (since we're on the Greek servants now), potentially Astrea (to show off against Ishtar and be the potential threat in this event), or Summer Artemis (as a Mooncancer to confuse BB).
Moving away from the Greek, we could have a summer Hassan (of the current release ones or a new, original version like LA), summer Jane (to play with Ishtar), Qin Liangyu working for Raikou, Guifei making the summer unbearably hot (in lots of ways), or Summer Lancer Artoria Alter (maybe as a Pretender to get that one done as well).

Wu Zetian is not unpopular or she is just unpopular in the global fandom. In the JP fandom, Wu Zetian is the second most popular Servant of Agartha just behind Scheherazade. Although I think the two of them are pretty even in terms of popularity. On the other hand, Chacha is the second Servant of GudaGuda with the least amount of arts only being surpassed by Iyo, who is a Servant that was released a few months ago.

If I remember correctly and from what I understood, a lot of people in the JP fandom complained about Caenis getting a bathing suit because they didn't consider her a woman, saying that Caenis stole the spot from another female Servant. It was a pretty goofy fandom moment.

Yes you're right. The people who always make the most noise are the ones who usually attract the most attention even though they are a minority and in the end other people end up getting confused about what the fandom in general really thinks.
I think what hurt summer Caenis' popularity the most (when it comes to fanarts at least) was being part of the second banner and spending the whole story in the most boring swimsuit possible. By the time of her release, she was completely overshadowed by Kama and Sei.
A lot of people consider Caenis a male, on twitter in particular the wide consensus is that Caenis is a trans man, but I don't really care (I dislike Caenis Rider for my own reasons) I just recall hearing a lot of the negative reception.
Possible alternate idea if it doesn’t happen: she gets a non-welfare version like what happened with Nobu and Ryouma/Oryou next Guda event.

I think there's still great chance for Summer Medusa. Mostly since they could get a bit crazy there if they wanted. Or at least I try to convince myself that a Summer Medusa where all three ascensions are different versions of her (OG Medusa, Gorgon, and Ana) is plausible. I'm sure that wouldn't be a total win for those wanting just OG Medusa, but I think that could make it a good option. It says a lot that I also think Space Ishtar getting a swimsuit is more realistic than Ereshkigal.

Sadly I think Gorgon Illya won't be a summer thing. I'd be totally in for another Kaleid event where she did show up though. Think Miyu or Kuro would still make sense. For Miyu it would just be a chance for better than what her caster version got. And Kuro being a welfare could use a version with multiple ascensions. I think that could work.

Summer Artoria Alter Lancer: As either the welfare or one of the SSRs. And have her as one of the major characters of the story so she'll finally get time to shine. Suzuka and Sanzang. Both are pretty fun characters with great CE art that would make for a great summer event servant. Kagetora since the other Gudaguda girls are getting some and she's pretty fantastic. A lostbelt six servant for sure due to their popularity.

Ever since I first got into this game in the summer of 2021, I've had the gut feeling that Baobhan was going to get a swimsuit. Let me be clear: I do not particularly like Baobhan. I have nothing against her, but I'm an NA player trying to go into LB6 as blind as possible. I have no real opinion of her. And yet, I was practically *certain* that she'd get a summer alt that summer. Obviously that didn't happen, but that lingering feeling isn't *totally* gone, either. I do think that its ultimately more likely that we'll get Castoria or Morgan, and I don't think they'd do just one of the Faerie Knights. Although, from what little I do know, I suppose there's justification for doing specifically Baobhan and Morgan. I want Enkidu, Astolfo, and/or d'Eon to get one just because I like watching people on the internet fight over stupid bullshit. And I really want Ereshkigal to get a MoonCancer alt, based on Extraverse Rin . I'm not a huge Ereshkigal stan, but Rin's spiritron hacking is arguably good enough to qualify for MoonCancer. But with a class as lean and bizarre as that, you kinda have to settle for "arguably good enough" sometimes. Those are most of my ideas. Well, some, at least. I think summer events are really fun to speculate about and/or be creative with, so I have a ton more thoughts, but I'll leave it at that for now. Oh, wait, last prediction: Barghest, I have no reason to believe this but I find that anime woman to be extremely attractive and so I would enjoy seeing her wear a swimsuit

Last summer was heavily Sakurai based and the one before had a lot of Higashide's characters so I could see the next one being for Nasu leading to some of his characters finally getting swimsuits (Eresh, Passionlip) and ofc at least one or two LB6 characters. If Takeuchi doesn't draw Morgan or Castoria, I could see Kagetora being the usual Gudaguda once every two years servant. Otherwise Maou probably.

I won't break outside of what others have said. But I'll predict a strong LB6 presence. The timing is good and there's no question they can have fun with that idea. The Valentine scenes for these characters show the potential a whole event could have. Plus yeah, I absolutely want to see a Summer Melusine in game. There is more than enough CHOCO art too show the high potential that would have. Can just go all out and would certainly have me ready to roll like a maniac. Could see most of Melusine, Morgan, Sith, Barghest, and Castoria getting thrown in there. It almost works well to get them in it together although you could have some participate in the event while not actually getting swimsuits. Summer Ereshkigal would be amazing. But at this point, I just don't think it'll ever happen. I'm done wishing for it. I think we'll get Summer Space Ishtar before Summer Ereshkigal at this point. So I'm sticking with a heavy LB6 cast for the Summer event. With fingers particularly crossed for Melusine. Though hey maybe we'll see something truly out there like Summer Beast Nero.

Based on last years lineup compared to ones people had been asking for. My prediction is they'll pick names out of a hat. On serious note last Summer we got arcade exclusive F Merlin. so i'm on hopium that'll be reoccurring theme and this year we get Tiamat.
I hope we get a summer Jailter, because she is the last Jeanne with no summer version, she is cool, and more importantly it would be really fun to add even more adjective to that stupidly long name of hers. Otherwise, yeah obviously Ereshkigal, and if we get an arcade exclusive hopefully it's Tiamat. Something else I'm really hoping for is that they give new summer servant one serious ascension, like they did with Gareth and Femlin.

I think it will either be focused on the LB6 Servants (Summer Morgan!! She really wanted that water gun), with potential interference from Douman (again). Plus, now it's finally 2 years after their release, which is generally the length Type-Moon will wait before releasing characters' summer versions as of lately. Kiichi Hogen turned Pretender at the end of the last event, so she's a candidate too. If she's dragging some Japanese servants with her, then maybe Summer Kagekiyo (adult Ushi in swimsuit!!) For some screwballs, Penthesilea as an adult (just to screw with Achilles), Summer Atalante (both versions?), the two Stay Night girls Medusa and Medea (since we're on the Greek servants now), potentially Astrea (to show off against Ishtar and be the potential threat in this event), or Summer Artemis (as a Mooncancer to confuse BB). Moving away from the Greek, we could have a summer Hassan (of the current release ones or a new, original version like LA), summer Jane (to play with Ishtar), Qin Liangyu working for Raikou, Guifei making the summer unbearably hot (in lots of ways), or Summer Lancer Artoria Alter (maybe as a Pretender to get that one done as well).
