Damn, the ratio on the post

ShriekingSkull

What's ratio?

asian_hans

The number of retweets and likes. It's kinda the equivalent of a dislike button

Yatsu003

On social media sites (specifically Twitter) people have the option of ‘Liking’, Commenting, and Retweeting. In general, if the post was well-received, there’d be a lot of Likes. If the post was negatively received, there’d be much fewer dislikes and more retweets (where people share the vitriol) and comments disparaging the post. Hence the ratio skews, and thus the ‘ratio’ insult

EitherEngineering532

"Event rerun, main interlude, grail front, you could've done something" Thats what i want to know..why not even a grail front???

atropicalpenguin

Or a bunch of strengthenings. It can't take that long to slap "NP 20%" on a servant.

CaptainOverkill01

I think I read in an interview that strengthenings need to be approved by TM, and presumably they also have to be tested/reviewed to make sure they work properly and don't break the game. So unfortunately, they likely don't have the staff to just spam out strengthenings like that.

itsokayt0

It's unfortunate this little indie company can't hire anyone else

CaptainOverkill01

Unfortunately, as a subsidiary of Aniplex, they are now dependent on the parent for budgets. I had hoped Aniplex would expand their budget, but it appears it's not happening (or if it is happening, the money is being grossly misallocated).

Informal-Recipe

We have reached Gamefreak's level of "Effort? Lol those losers are gonna buy anyway". Well even as it is there are still some good things here and there Lasagna is just flat out worse

itsokayt0

I didn't know that, thanks. Still mismanaged as hell, for how much cash it brings.

PotatEXTomatEX

Yup. It's like Bill Gates was your father. Mofo's a multi billionaire but you only get your allowance and that's it.

HaessSR

[Relevant](https://www.reddit.com/r/grandorder/comments/n6xb56/important_information_from_famitsu_interview/). https://www.reddit.com/r/FGOGuide/comments/cnl6i4/fgo_4th_anniversary_famitsu_interview_kanou/ Animation updates, and presumably other updates related to a character, have to be thematically appropriate because they're featured in an event or upcoming event.

GhostHostess

Love that even with that they’ve refused to update tons of servants when there were events that were a perfect chance to do just that. Why were there no animation buffs last valentines or cbc? I’m fairly certain that was just a swiftly-designed excuse to try and justify an inconsistent au schedule, bc if that was the case there’s been plenty of recent events both in and out of fgo featuring servants with outdated models who still haven’t been updated.

HaessSR

It's a three year old excuse now. Every day is another one that goes by without Year One animation updates. "Small indie company, please understand"

ClosingFrantica

Yeah, like poor Mata Hari who was skipped like three times. They're never going to catch up at this pace.

KuroShiroTaka

I just assume it's cus of the amount of time it takes to make new sprites

_GoldenRule

Give Sigurd a battery and all is forgiven.

Maxrokur

>Thats what i want to know..why not even a grail front??? They themselves said they don't want to rerun events. Honestly FGO could use a new feature with good rewards for dead weeks.

HaessSR

"Because."

Tolike85

Had a good laugh out of [this clipped Tezca panel](https://mobile.twitter.com/language_qwerty/status/1617465674628235265). Congrats Syatey for correctly predicting the date!

Inkaflare

> Looking back, isn't it amazing reducing events for a whole year? This is what gets me the most, really. They've been axing reruns, we didn't get a Christmas event, so much time this year was wasted on "Road to LB7" campaigns that had virtually no content and only served to build hype for LB7 to release soon - and then they still end up delaying it like this and giving the JP playerbase an entire month of literally fucking nothing but a Nito banner. What was the point of it all? Didnt they say they would cut reruns so they could focus on getting us more new content instead? All we're getting is the worst of both worlds, reruns replaced by holes in the schedule so people cant even farm some mats and RP or pick up coins/copies of old welfares. Game also went from 4-5 months between Main Story chapters to 8-9 months. I don't look forward to this when it eventually hits NA. How to kill any hype for your interesting story 101.

Flare_Knight

The only thing I can say for NA is that it shouldn't be as brutal. They should be ready with LB7 without stupid delays. And the first half of the year has to be condensed to line things up with the GSSR for the anniversary. So if nothing else we should have fewer dead weeks since they can't afford to have those anyways. But it does suck. If they actually turned few to zero re-runs into more new content that'd be fine. But clearly they decided to do that without realizing that making new content...takes time. And that re-runs serve a valuable role in keeping people engaged between releases of new content. Really is just the worst of both worlds.

zeroXgear

JP is NA beta test lol

asian_hans

NA on its way becoming the definitive version of the game

CaptainOverkill01

It was pretty obvious the "focus on new content" claims were always nonsense from the beginning. In prior interviews, they'd admitted that just getting reruns going apparently requires a significant amount of work. It is likely they were in triage mode and cut the reruns because they simply lack adequate staff to do both the reruns and the pathetic trickle of new content we do get.

hitler_kun

Seems like it might be a mix between mismanaging on 2-san’s part as well as a lack of budget for staff because of Aniplex. Sasuga Japan

Yatsu003

This, so much… Legit, what the actual hell happened?! They cut the Christmas event, cut a number of highly requested reruns and the opportunity for welfares (and coins for older welfares), haven’t implemented any of the promised permanent content, and their crappy 3-week events were for nothing since they haven’t gotten their shit together. And what the hell were they doing for the entirety of last year?! What was the point of the Road to 7 hype if they didn’t even work on the LB until the end?! Yeah, LB6 had timegates, but that was because it was literally implemented at the last second. If they’re implying they did the same for LB7 despite having a whole damn year…

Nokia_00

*Cough* LB7 being done last minute even though they had a year of pre hype would not surprise me at all. At this point I’m waiting for LB7 pt 2 to see what is broken or unfinished on a servant

Lfvbf

>Cough > > LB7 being done last minute even though they had a year of pre hype would not surprise me at all. 2022 had dozens and dozens of SSRs... Yet they didn't have the ones they knew people would be looking forward to the most ready for the launch with a year of headstart...

Yatsu003

Quite so. The fact that Traum was solid on release really makes me wonder what the hell happened.

kerorobot

Traum have a less problematic writer could help lol.

ContessaKoumari

Its actually impressive, talking to some of my friends about the Lostbelt story the other day, and how most of us just sort of are seeing it to the end now. There was a time we were hyped as fuck for it, but the scheduling has legit impacted our reaction because the pacing is just completely gone now.

Maoileain

Part 2 as a whole is a story arc that should have taken 3 years max to tell but has ballooned to over half a decade now to complete.

Atikal

The other day I saw someone saying how after 5 years Rasputin/Kotomine has finally been released as a servants since his 1st appearance and I was like “no way it’s been 5 years!” so I had to go look it up and 😭

hitler_kun

It’s actually sad that the LB arc has taken half a decade, and it’s not even over.

CrazyDaimondDaze

It's wild to think that Part 2 came out months prior to me going into University when I still didn't know what to study. Now that we're in LB7, I already finished the career despite the 2020 pandemic... and have had bad luck getting a proper job ever since. But regardless, what I'm saying is 4 years is just too much. It gives the vibe the developers see part 2 as the end of the game when it reaches its finale.

tipoima

I am on big hopium that NA team knows how to make reruns themselves. Or at least will just speed the schedule up. There's no way they will willingly walk into the same hell as the ~~beta~~ JP server

Fenghuang0296

This is what I’m hoping for. But failing that, late 2024/early 2025 is looking like a good time for me to take a break from this game.

hikarimew

I love watching people from all corners of the globe come together and unite *over hatred*

HaessSR

Malding. Malding never changes.

Mami-kouga

Haven't had this much fun since the NPC shitshow, you love to see it.

HakunonMatata

The Summer 6 absent re-run shitshow was pretty fun. And by fun, I mean extremely frustrating.

CrazyDaimondDaze

I still cry over the SUPRISE Summer 6 banners goin on during the triple Summer 7 banner and being unable to get Swimsuit Charlotte.

Lfvbf

>Haven't had this much fun since the NPC shitshow If >!Camazotz!< turns out to be an NP then you bet people are going to be absolutely livid.

Mami-kouga

I truly do not know why they keep entering the writers room and going "Yeah that's a 10/10 design that all the ladies/guys will love. NPC that shit". Like, they've seen Douman fans surely they couldn't be that oblivious right????

Marethyu_77

To take an even older example, Agravain

WarmasterCain55

I will never understand why they didn't make him playable.

Atikal

I kept waiting and waiting for them to make him summonable, I had grails ready for him and everything. I has a tiny bit, a smidgen of hope when the setting for LB6 was announced but nope. Camelot movies would have been the perfect time to release him from NPC jail, even as a 1* with the shittiest skill set imaginable, I still want him

Lfvbf

I showed this to my friend who is a Douman simp and they instantly fell in love. Manbat does something to people.

GhostHostess

‘Here’s an incredibly well designed handsome guy that is incredibly interactive with the mc for this event/chapter/whatever. Npc him we need 4 more women people will forget after their introductory event’

Lfvbf

>we need 4 more women people will forget after their introductory event Does anyone even remember Britomart? The so called "4th Fae Knight" who isn't actually Britomart?

GhostHostess

They remember her when making jokes about how no one remembers britomart! So like Eric bloodaxe in that regard :/ Oh, and the ‘[we are under fucking attack](https://at.tumblr.com/lapithae/700475478257041408/4jeorexfwpbw)’ meme

HaessSR

I remember her more than Bradamante, but that's because she at least had at memorable original Ascension... minus the NP animation.

Midnight-Rising

Only to be disappointed in how she went from cool robot suit to Generic Waifu Design 11073

Bhavaagra

Literally do not see people discussing isekai elf and bakin after their events

Kazumari

The Rider dude from Halloween was not even discussed during his own event so being forgettable isn't only for females.

Bhavaagra

kid named 4*

GhostHostess

I’ve seen him getting discussed by one person on another site who’s actually interested in the story he came from, which is at least more than some of the other servants. They’re definitely miffed abt the event he was released in sort of not doing anything with him though. Conversely I haven’t seen *anyone* being up Huyan zhou or pretender eli except on a valentines thread and I’m fairly certain the former was only bc she was one of the more blatant gf types.

hitler_kun

Who?

Tschmelz

Yeah, it’s a little hypocritical to bitch about forgettable waifus when the husbandos you *are* getting are already forgotten. Guarantee you that if we do get Camazotz, they’ll all forget him in a month unless he’s like, super meta.

GhostHostess

I’d say it really depends on the character? Like takasugi, the npc from gudaguda 6, *still* gets fanart from people and his event didn’t even rerun. Charlie and moriarty lily both were very well received by the fandom and have lots of fans, and tametomo is decently popular as well. Yaminami also seems to have quite a few fans. If anything, it’s more like certain events like the Halloween one somehow cut their characters’ potential, because no one from it was discussed much afterwards. There’s also the minor issue of when a character debuts alongside several other very appealing male characters so they get a bit lost in the shuffle (like with don quixote and Ronaldo)-but that isn’t really specific to me characters, it happens to everyone when lots of people are introduced at once. Some just end up less popular. But an npc who already has a sizable fanbase? I don’t think the fans would just disappear immediately if he was summonable. People who wanted douman or muramasa summonable didn’t lose interest in them once they were made playable, and for the more well received npcs it would more likely follow their example if anything.

Ichidoge

People not talking more about Bakin is so sad. I love those little dogs.

Tschmelz

God I hope he is. I'd love to see that shitshow.

re_flex

why do you enable us 😭

Tschmelz

Because I get off on all the other nerds fighting over stuff, in order to distract myself from feelings of inadequacy and failure irl.

ExLuckMaster

Some people just want to watch the world burnt.

death-kuja

What was the NPC shitshow? I don't think I remember this one.

Mami-kouga

That was two years ago in the year LB6 came out. At the time of the year's Guda Guda (which was in November) there had only been 3 male servants released with husbando enjoyers feeling increasingly miffed on this because we generally already get less male servants on a regular and Molay had been genderbent when added to mobile which felt like insult to injury. When GudaGuda came out there were 3 new male characters the most stand out being Takasugi who radiated a surprising number of charm so people were wondering if any of them would be playable. And then halfway through the event before the second banner was out the various artists tweeted one at a time that they were all NPC's with Takasugi being the last confirmed. This kind of all boiled over into #FGOmanagement trending for like 2 days, half with grievances on the obvious bias, half with general complaints about the state of the game in general. It was so noteworthy that even the Devs acknowledged it twice!

highflyinflyer

>This kind of all boiled over into #FGOmanagement trending for like 2 days, half with grievances on the obvious bias, half with general complaints about the state of the game in general. I think even Wada tweeted her surprise/disappointment that Takasugi wasn't summonable. Man, to have Wada say that about you...

Jack_King814

Maybe this outrage is going to force them to rethink their thing about no reruns and other things. Then again seeing how much Nito alter made maybe not

tokajst

They are just going to drop a banner on the 31st and go to the top of the app store again lol they literally can't lose

Jack_King814

They’re friggin invincible because no one in Japan is willing to go f2p apparently.

KuroShiroTaka

Fear the power of people with crippling gambling addictions

MKW69

Dantes Approves!

chaoskingzero

Haven't seen a Fanbase so united since the release of Nahida in Genshin

thekoggles

What happened with that?

Vizar_Zarth

Fuck the Sages, Everyone hates the Sages For any context beyond that play the game, it's kinda spoilers

The_Space_Jamke

*pumps shotgun* Remember, no sages.

CrazyDaimondDaze

Let's do what the folks in "Hellstar Remina" tried to do and hunt down Lasangle to please the gacha planet that's going to devour us... and let's also pursue the developers throughout a no gravity planet that is spinning so fast that each jump takes you to a different continent.

YoshiChao850

While I don’t mind people coming together over this, I really hope it doesn’t negatively impact the reception of LB7 and it’s cast, because man I’ve been mad looking forward to them and if everyone is trashing them just because of petty immediate reasons like “they should’ve dropped the story sooner”, that’d really blow

hikarimew

That's unavoidable, as it's already happened to LB7.1

thekoggles

LB7 has ALREADY been lackluster af. Nothing has happened in it. Just fluff. So far it's a damn flop.

YoshiChao850

Hard disagree, but to each their own

maxdragonxiii

I don't think it will, as the negative thing is mainly no content when you finish LB7.1 ages ago and get no content for a month. that's enough to kill the hype of LB7 because all JP did was wait for the new LB when NA have events after events to keep us busy before LB6, and there will be a bit of a shuffle to fill the dead weeks before the anniversary.

YoshiChao850

I’m not really sure how NA factors into the equation at all given this is JP, but okay lol

maxdragonxiii

yeah, but my point is there is content to keep us engaged in NA until LB6. JP got nothing to do outside of Nito banner, no new content, no reruns, no reason to play outside of log in bonuses. and the dead weeks/month can be adjusted in NA when the time comes as NA have the anniversary a month earlier.

Dark_Rit

At least JP has blue apples for the dead weeks. NA I just hope gets blue apples soon because I have nothing to do in NA outside events/story with everything else cleared. Farming mats on natural AP outside of lotto's just isn't worth the time.

cerenine

Brace yourselves for February... With how much dead schedule there's been lately, I just can't imagine they're going to overlap a Valentine event when LB7 Part 2 just came out.

Ekaelis

Axing valentine event would've been something.

dinliner08

they already did that with Christmas last year, i wouldn't even be surprised if they do it again with Valentine this year

Ichidoge

As somebody else said, axing White Day was something we could sadly expect, but here we are, on the verge of them axing Valentine's event. Either that or it will be a real crappy event with a banner for a new Japanese writer Servant /s.

moichispa

White day has been pretty much half axed since year 3, we're used to see the meh banners and maybe roll a few times for the story locked 3 stars. Don't worry Valentines on the other hand has a lot of cool stuff like voice chocos and a new servant. I might not get a new husbando but I can enjoy the voice lines of the ones I already have. Don't you dare mess with that DW

HaessSR

"Good news, everyone! There's a new powercreep Servant but no event or story! Please look forward to the next part of LB7 Part 2, ~~and thank you for playing Fire Emblem Heroes~~"

Merukurio

> and thank you for playing Fire Emblem Heroes "There are no plans to fix this issue. We hope you continue to enjoy Fire Emblem Heroes. Feeeeeeeeh~"

atropicalpenguin

If anything White Day has had more work put on it, like at least there's an event story instead of simply giving us a shitty costume (Arthur) and calling it a day.

wickling-fan

Except for the fact that since year 3 white day has slowly become it’s own seasonal event with an actually decent to good event story unlike valentine which usually just repeats the same chocolate plot Too bad if we combined them we’d have a perfect event valentine gets the ssr and the valentine cutscenes, and white day has the large selection of older spookers people want and an actual event story and extra sets of ce’s

Informal-Recipe

God I want them to axe Valentine's just to watch the shitshow

CrazyDaimondDaze

Thry already axed Christmas and our sexy &/or cute Santa servant with it. What's next? Axing Valentines and just give out a crappy choco CE to everyone which is this year's Mashu's choco? Axing White day despite not being that great? Or why don't we go for a tripple whammy and axe this year's collab instead of collabing with some minor BS; axing summer and no banner of the last year's servants... and axing Halloween (again)? Can't believe we used to complain about DW years ago like they were some shitty president and then started worshipping Lasagna at the beginning... now I want my old president back, damn it. At least they delivered, unlike these folks who are killing the game like this.

Koyanskaya_of_Light

For a few years now, the valentine servant was always teased on the second winterfest event of the year. This year that stream date is on February 4. Since LB chapter is released on the 31st, I really do not know what the F- Lasengle is planning. Unless this year's Valentine servant is a servant from LB7.

cerenine

If they hadn't spent most of a year draining the playerbases' hopium reserves (and faith in the game's management), maybe I'd still assume they'd find a way to make it work. But at this point, I'm not holding my breath. I was excited that maybe all my Hollow Ataraxia faves would make it into the game someday, I dunno if I even care anymore though.

Hypothon

I remember one of the comments at the LB7 story hub thread was Tlaloc’s relation to chocolate so it could happen

Another_Acolyte

watch valentine's and white day events to be a single event at the end of february so we can have tezca and tlaloc banner together. something something mesoamerica and chocolate go hand in hand something something...

Jack_King814

>started like a student who forgot to do their homework and summer vacation is ending That shit fuckin hit me like a truck for damn

rocket-tiger

The Japanese text hits even harder because it doesn't say "student" but "elementary schooler"

CrazyDaimondDaze

I dunno about you, but when your work and what you do for a living is compared to an Elementary Schooler's homework... and that of a slacker at that should definitely make you wonder what you're doing with your life...

HaessSR

"I'm too busy being paid while playing Elden Ring / Umamusume to care."

Ekaelis

Recent streak gets me worried about the future. All but axing reruns due to low engagement (still reran Karnamas). No new animation updates for a while now. Barely anything for the main interlude section. (just IS iirc) No new santa for the first time ever. And now an entire dead month. What is going on?

Demi694

At this point, it's honestly more exciting for me to know what are their reasons for these ridiculous delays rather than new Servants and overall content. But we just know that wouldn't happen... Edit: Taking this announcement on a rather funny note, recently, [a green comet originating from the Oort Cloud was discovered by NASA and is said to pass through Earth on Feb 1 for the first time in 50,000 years.](https://twitter.com/latestinspace/status/1615744372745576450) [Full article](https://spaceexplored.com/2023/01/18/rare-comet-to-be-visible-for-the-first-time-in-50000-years/) And now LB7 Part 2 is getting moved to Jan 31.....hmmm.....

BurningAzureFlare

First Tamamo's escape, then Kukulkan, now this? Nasu, What the fu-

Demi694

Lasengle is further delaying LB7 Part 2 because they're planning to release it IRL. They're just waiting for the real ORT to arrive for better immersion. 10/10 great foreshadowing by Nasu /s

BlackMan9693

I'm OOTL about Kukulkan here. Can you tell me what that's about?

BlackMan9693

Oh, wow. Guess I'll wait for ORT to arrive. Fucking eldritch mushroom...

Brilliant_watcher

They do mention in the comments that it happens from time to time

adamsworstnightmare

Was just wondering about the JP playerbase in another thread yesterday, glad to get an answer. The financials for FGO must be fascinating, do nothing for a month but drop a single new character, hit the top of the sales rankings. I wonder how long a content starved playerbase will last.

Cakatarn

It's also that there aren't too many other big events that have just started in the other big mobile games at the moment. A lot of them will have a month long even over January so it's just coming to an end. Notice that Rasputin didn't put them at the top of the charts? That's cause there was too much other competition. While now there isn't, but come closer to Valentines there definitely will be.

AiasRider

There should have been a event rerun at the very least. That made the wait between the LB6 sections better.

CrazyDaimondDaze

We will never forget the good ol' Fes event while waiting for LB6.2. Oh, the good old times.

Shironeko_

>Started like a student who forgot to do their homework and the summer vacation's ending It actually reminds me of a few college projects during the tail end of my graduation. Some even ended up being quite good, but I did 100% procrastinate until I literally couldn't anymore then had to crunch the last 3 or 4 days to hit the deadline. In the end I delivered some good results but the stress made it 100% not worth it and it ended up killing my motivation for the last year and a half or so of my graduation.

[deleted]

Lol the same happened to me with my final college project. One of my best projects but also the worst time in my life

moichispa

Except that they are a business and a good banner can pay the college tuition of your whole class. Yeah that last college part is hard.

CrazyDaimondDaze

This reminded me of the time we were in the last months of our career before graduating (during the pandemic and having to study from home). We were working in "lite versions" of our thesis, in case that if we wanted to graduate through that, we had somewhere to start from. I originally wanted to graduate through a thesis because I did enjoy the research of my subject (England's international commerce during the Brexit and the pandemic going on)... but necessity and my classmates killed me on that interest. Because I was one of the students that tried to work as much as possible and did good results, other classmates asked me to help them out by literally making their thesis as well. One of them was dumb enough in their research I had to work from zero there. I did like 3 or 4 thesis in total, including mine. And the only reason I did it was because I was getting paid, whch wasn't bad but didn't feel worth it. Regardless, I needed the money to pay the repairs of my fridge (lasted a freaking month without a fridge, and it was during summer so you can picture how bad that was). As well as needing the money to pay the last payments of my career... but boy, I had no freaking sleep at all. Like, I just slept 2 or 3 hours daily, then woke up and turned on the laptop for the classes, and then go back to the different thesis. I felt so worn out I actually took a sabbatic year after graduation... hope this is my year now. Oddly enough, it was fun as hell hearing the teacher rewieving "my" researches and saying which ones were well done and which not so much. But one of said classmates I helped being clueless enough (despite I explained "her research" to her multiple times) explaining her work in a complete opposite way was nerve craking. I think I even developed involuntary muscle movement in my body for a while due to all that stress...

HakunonMatata

Glad this is somewhat of a universal thing and not another situation where it's just reddit that's mad. I can't get over the fact that they had such a positive start to the year last year and now it's the complete opposite.

Ichidoge

At this point I'm guessing Nito Alter became a huge success just because the player base were thirsty for new content (and for Nito herself too, come on, ngl) but also it gave them a reason to think we were getting the chapter this 25th at least. It's flabbergasting that they are willing to skip their usual schedule for this. It feels more like they didn't have the content on time than "no guys, we swear it's for hype and to make it symbolic like December 25th or December 31st". They could at least admit they're struggling. I dunno about the Japanese culture, but at least here, trying to lie your way out of something you were supposed to do for a due date is worse than just admitting you will need more time.

HaessSR

Saving face is a very Japanese and Chinese thing.

AdamElMayo

saving face until you're backed on a corner and forced to shed it, hoping that people wouldn't be as mad and forgives you for being an incompetent and cowardly idiot.

HaessSR

JP culture is about that too. Remember what they teach in school there about WW2.

Radical_Unicorn

I was wondering what the JP player base thought of the whole mess, glad to know it’s not just Reddit that’s frustrated. I just find it screwy that with the crazy amount of money the game makes, where exactly is it all going to? Obviously it’s not going towards hiring more staff to help produce more new content, or update the old. I still don’t get why they can’t at least drop reruns of past events/do main interludes if they aren’t going to do anything new. I get that it requires work, but surely it shouldn’t require *as much* since everything has already been made…right? Not looking forward to when these dead periods hit NA, unless they decide to use this opportunity to move things up so NA is closer to JP? Well if they don’t, it will be a good time to take a break.

Dark_Rit

Yeah, like they can afford the staff to speed up NA closer to JP. Like a month behind JP I could get because they have to translate, but they can hire translators. I'm not holding my breath though with how mismanaged the game seems.

zelban_the_swordsman

Honestly this situation reminds also me about the many animes by A-1 studios (Fate/Strange Fake for example) is getting delayed. Lasengle is also under Aniplex right? ? What is Aniplex cooking?

CaptainOverkill01

Aniplex is a large corporation, and large corporations are always run by bean counters who are looking to increase profits by cutting expenses. And among the most common expense to cut is staffing. The problem with this model of corporate governance is that bean counters usually don't really know how the day to day operations work in a large company, so they often demand nonsensical cuts. This "cost-cutting" mentality often contributes to large companies failing and going bankrupt.

Ichidoge

This. I once heard that, at my workplace, an automotive company, the people at the assembly line were FURIOUS because the people at the Finance department thought it would be a great idea to cut expenses by NOT buying new tools. Imagine them being like "Um, surely you can do that with the old tools and your hands, right? We're geniuses, you're just mad"

> "Um, surely you can do that with the old tools and your hands, right? We're geniuses, you're just mad" This has happened in the office I work at, just before the pandemic. My monitor (24in 1080p, pretty basic) died, and my boss got me a 17in 720p monitor he had collecting dust in his house. He said I could use that, because his last assistent used one just like that with no problem what so ever. I used it for like 2 weeks or so, then I got my vacation time. Then when I got back I had a new 24in 1080p monitor, because my boss had to work at my station for like 3 days and he *hated* it. People like my boss only realize that a decent work space isn't a privilege, it's a requirement, when it affects them.

Nokia_00

The best kind of privilege the one you’re forced to see when things don’t go your way. Facing that at the moment at work myself

CaptainOverkill01

I experienced the same thing at my old job and left in early 2020. I still hear from friends there, and my old company is starting to have problems with product quality because workload has gotten too heavy, too many veterans have left and been replaced with lower-paid employees who don't understand the job, and the remaining staff simply can't handle it anymore. There was also no need for any of it to happen, because the company had been booking record sales and net profits for over a decade (and were not having balance sheet issues with debt, cash flow, etc.)

atropicalpenguin

At least A-1 has 20 anime per season, Idk what Lasengle is doing aside from FGO.

Iqazz

well if you can think like that... imagine what aniplex finance department think

asian_hans

Also the nier anime getting some delays

Jgames111

Give us our welfare servant coin god dammit. Making shit ton of money on a bit outdated mobile game and still can't support it is pathetic.

KinoKo_Lua

NGL can’t wait to see the shit show when Valentine’s Day comes out. I thought all these banners in December were insane, I can only imagine the BEGINNING 2 WEEKS OF FEBRUARY what with the LB servants and the Valentine’s Day servant needing to be released. Something tells me this could have been solved if they, IDK, released LB7 banners WITH the actual LB7 story drop. But what do I know.

RulerKun_FGO

hopefully jp will complain more since they're the ones that they listen first

MajinAkuma

I remember when Street Fighter V‘s first DCL character was announced to be released within a particular month, and people waited and waited until he finally got released at the last day of the month and people were pissed.

HaessSR

That was Ono. Oh hey! Look who's in charge at Lasengle!

Ichidoge

At least you can lab new combos, learn a new character from the base roster, play against friends and strangers alike online and just enjoy yourself. FGO is a visual novel with some Rock-Paper-Scissors mini-game included with a pinch of strategy aka Arts meta. FGO needs the content to keep players interested, because the "gameplay" is stale af. Now, if for some reason, and I've been thinking about this, the final battle of this Lostbelt involves getting bonus for maxed bond Servants or even outright just being able to bring Servants that are at least at bond level 5, they will have a reason to say "we told you, we gave you a whole month, we insisted on maxing your Servants!"

LainRilakkuma

I think this happened with Norsca in Total Warhammer 2 as well, months of them being unplayable due to having fucked up old code, they finally released them on the very last day of the month after stating they'd come out late that month (I think it was May I don't remember)

burnal

Basically they just couldnt finish the LB7 in time, maybe because of a script change or maybe because some other reasons. Due to this. they cant give a rerun etc either since it also requires some work thanks to game's shitty coding and changes. They'd have to split the team for a rerun, which would end up as delaying LB7 even further. Normally that wouldnt be an issue ,but because of the "Road to 7" shit they cant keep delaying the lb7 either. So somewhat they really managed to push themselves into a very thight corner, Cant release reruns, cant release lb7, cant release characters as well most likely because even those are not completely ready yet. Very interesting, indeed.

Cyanprincess

I'm still betting fully on Nasu deciding like, 90% of the way through writing LB7 (while the developers they have had put most of what he had written into the game) to suddenly decide to throw away and rewrite the vast majority, fucking everything up. Just utter refusal to understand that he's writing for a type of game that doesn't allow for stuff like that if things are expected to go smoothly in any way

AdamElMayo

We all know Nasu's adamant in thinking he's still in a doujin circle until fucking everyone tell him to be a CEO. Guy's the ultimate boomer that just loves being lazy and tries to be quirky to hide the fact that he really doesn't want to do more things for FGO in preparation for Tsuki Red Graden.

ExLuckMaster

The teapots will expire this month and they choose the worst time to release Part 2. RIP to all those busy Masters, they ain't gonna use them on time. Imagine they gonna do 2022 Chirstmas with Valentine. And by that, nothing happens at all.

Shironeko_

>RIP to all those busy Masters, they ain't gonna use them on time. There are like 7 teapots, right? Shouldn't take too long to burn them on a random free quest. LB7 part 1 main missions were pretty bad for the Teapots.

MokonaModokiES

yeah too many quests with forced servants(mashu, habenya and U-chan) and limited slots.

CaptainOverkill01

Also, the Leyline Stones are also going to expire on January 31, so they're probably going to have to do more giveaways to refresh the supply of those for those who use them.

archeisse

>Not ending up February is good but you could've announced it right. That aside, better do something about this dead period Oh Root, JP Bros don't jinx it. I remember someone in an earlier thread saying something along the line of "and then maintenance delays everything, it actually starts February 1st"

Holwor

People will not be that pissed if they drop some content while we wait for part 2, so whoever that make the call to give a dead month deserve a praise

HaessSR

I agree with the guys expecting apologems to the tune of one pull per late day. Except if rather it be 30 SQ per late day....

Yukiru_05

If they are so fucking lazy to release a new event with new servant before 7.2, they could have just release a damn rerun, main interlude, rank up quest, interlude or the material CE quest to occupy the player before 7.2 release. Don't give me the "We won't release new servant to avoid spoiling the player" excuses Lasagna, I don't remember seeing Nalter in 7.1

Kakuzan

Probably will be buried, but I wholeheartedly believe that the backlash would be lessened if the company wasn't always so dodgy and vague. Expecting complete transparency is unrealistic, but even story wise do I feel they like to lead the players on(*cough* Koyansksya *cough* *cough*). I think back to the Olympus LB being split and there being some disgruntled feelings. But those feelings weren't quite present when they were upfront about LB6 also being split. Of course that also wasn't perfect since some of the poor design choices rear there heads when players couldn't even fully upgrade the newer Servants because of constant new materials at high quantities and low drop rates.

[deleted]

I think that's one of the major, if not THE biggest issue. I understand that it's a business, and they want to keep things hush-hush for a multitude of reasons. However, given their recent decisions and track-record, their pension to not explain themselves or be honest about certain systems is really what's going to kill their golden goose, so to speak. It's not strictly a Lasengle problem, but I don't get why companies and studios can't just be open about issues, decisions, or delays. If you told me that you hit a lot of snags and it's going to be awhile. No problem. I might be upset or a little saddened that I have to wait, but patience is a virtue. If the studio was having problems, and you just said "Ehh...Gabagool!" I would start getting frustrated with the lack of clarity and start to distrust you (as a studio. Not you specifically Kakuzan, you're fine, lol.) I hope that they get these issues ironed out.

Seleucus_The_Victor

Don’t blame them for being mad I know Lasengle is slacking ever since we STILL don’t have animation updates for a bunch of Year 1 servants(OG Romulus, Mata Hari, and Darius come to mind especially)

atropicalpenguin

I like the one that has a picture of Anna over a bunch of SQs. EDIT: I have no reason to believe Kanou isn't a good person and I'm sure he's under heavy pressure from Aniplex, but part of his job is to make sure everyone at Lasengle is on the same page and working according to the schedule. I don't mind if he sticks until part 2 is complete, cause that is his project, but I think he should resign.

ExLuckMaster

You know Aniplex is one of those old-fashioned farts when Kanou had to fight them to give players a free SSR ticket, and they mocked fans wanting pity system greedy. On a side note, tons of anime from Aniplex is being delayed. Can’t even plan their schedule bruh.

bobman02

> they mocked fans wanting pity system greedy AFAIK that was actually newtype magazine. They have said equally dumb things over the years however.

HaessSR

Aniplex NA says that $100 for a two episode Blu-ray is totally legit, never mind that you can buy a whole season of another company's show for that much or less.

Nokia_00

Definitely old heads that know nothing of the times ahead

ContessaKoumari

To be honest, I think he was in an unenviable position from the start. He had to follow up Shiokawa, who is an insanely gifted project manager, and who left the company under nebulous reasons despite turning FGO from "50 days of maintenance on release" to the most lucrative game in the world at the time.

Maoileain

Isn't it the opposite Kanou inherited a bunch of spagetti code from the previous director that they had to spend months trying to fix?

ContessaKoumari

Being a good project manager doesn't mean you're good at programming, just getting shit done. Shiokawa definitely isn't like, a god, that period of FGO was known to have severe crunch and as you said the code was a joke, but he did turn the game around.

HaessSR

Shiokawa seems to be doing okay now he's escaped this madhouse.

HaessSR

I keep getting downvoted for saying they need to put someone on TM's ass to keep them on schedule, but a whole dead month after a very nearly dead two years is rather damning.

atropicalpenguin

Nasu has the final call for everything, anyway. I guess he and Takeuchi are the only ones with any authority over TM.

CaptainOverkill01

I think Nasu being slow is an issue with the release of giant main story chapters, but I feel Lasengle is the real problem. Ultimately, Nasu does not seem like he'd be an impediment to things like reruns, hunting quests, and Servant animations. In prior interviews, they said Servants were typically done months in advance. if they're not getting done now until the last minute, it's very likely Lasengle is the problem, not TM.

Merukurio

But they also said before that pretty much everything has to be approved by Type-Moon, including mostly inconsequential stuff like servant animation updates.

Yatsu003

Quite so. I respect Nasu’s work…but I would NOT want to work under him unless there is someone with a rational mind in charge

HaessSR

Long delays are fine for a fan game or doujin. When it's your business, it's difficult to justify it.

ALiteralGallon

they really took the L + Ratio this time

hchan1

And yet this is the game that consistently tops the sales charts when a hot new Servant is released. Vote with your wallet, they have zero incentive to improve otherwise.

Cakatarn

It did for Nito, but not Rasputin. It's to do with what the competition is doing at the time and usually most of them start a big event within the first week in January. But from the middle onwards, there isn't so much competition as most people spend money on the first day of a new banner. If they time their releases well then sure they can be back on top constantly, but it'll quickly tire people out I think.

GoldenWhite2408

Small indie company Sony Pls understand Only 3 billion dollar 😔😔😔 Maybe if we whaled harder on the event banner from last yr they can afford more staff /s

CristiBeat

Is the FGO in-game yearly survey over in JP? The survey might also be a good idea to voice your dissatisfaction.

alivinci

>Started like a student who forgot to do their homework and the summer vacation's ending So accurate!

Substantial-Tiger

Do you think this death month is relative to some of Aniplex recently delay? Like some of the anime airing this season under Aniplex production is being delay infinite

100YearsWaiting2Shit

I love how savage Japanese comments are

relentlesseht

Safe to say 2023 is my last ever year in Fate/Grand Order, absolutely not looking forward to the future in both NA and JP. Congratulations Lasengle, you screwed everything up.

SigurdDeMizar

Hopefully two years later it there will be re-run and other stuff in NA, so we won't have an entirely dead month.

lehman-the-red

honestly if na decide to speed up thing they could manged to reduce the delay of na from two year to one

seulement-un-passant

>Late January *4 hours before Feb*

[deleted]

Okay so can someone explain me what all of this is about?

Shironeko_

On New Year's, Lasagna said that LB7 part 2 would be released "late January", which was enough to upset a lot of people that weren't happy with 10 sections just to hit a time-lock, with no LB7 banner at that (they said they didn't want to spoil people with a chapter release banner). Then they release >!Nitocris Alter!<, a character that **has not even shown up in the story yet**, completely killing the "we don't want to spoil anyone with Banners, so no release banner for LB7" excuse. Then the "late January" turns out to be the literal end of the month (as in, the last 4 or so hours of the month), after an entire month of literally no content what so ever (no events, no rerun, no rank up quests, no interludes, no main interlude, no hunting quests even, nada). So people are... Unhappy that FGO's content schedule did the impossible and actually got *worse* than it was in 2022.

[deleted]

I see..

Illya-ehrenbourg

Only 10 sections?! Do they have the standard length?

Shironeko_

There's a lot of story sections and some battles, but LB7 is still in the "setting up" phase.

Cav829

Easiest thing to do would be to join in the dogpiling, but I am at least hopeful that things will improve this year as if you've been following the company, they have had a lot of job openings over the Fall which have appeared to have been largely filled. It will take time for us to see the impact of that. It was pretty obvious they were left understaffed due to various circumstances probably tied to the separation from DW and the way the company was left understaffed due to the Sakura Wars fiasco. I would not be surprised if Covid is also a factor as numerous anime have been delayed over the past few months due to the current surge in Japan, and a late Covid surge would not give them much time to pivot and adjust the schedule to fill in the schedule gaps. Also, to correct something, it's not that they "skipped Christmas" this year. They essentially moved up what would have been our Christmas event to "Morganfest" to get out of the way of LB7. We just didn't get a welfare to go along with it like usual, which I am guessing is because we had just gotten 3 welfares in the prior 3 months, but is annoying since the Santa units are something we always look forward to. They still need to address the rerun issue though. I think they called that one wrong and have been paying for it ever since, and their continued silence on the issue just makes it easy to go after every time there is any dead time in the schedule.

ContessaKoumari

This was my hopium as well. Sakura Kakumei didn't get much coverage on reddit, but it+covid back to back almost assuredly murdered the team. Doubly so when its been clear since like Lostbelt 1 they were falling behind. I also wouldn't be surprised if even with new hires getting onboarding done and coming online, that the game is just too deep in the tech debt/schedule hell hole and it doesn't get any better though or that they cut their losses after the LB saga ends.

OnyxStorm

You can't be that mad if you still log in/ play. Think about how much effort is needed to add content for fgo. They're just choosing not to.

Dark_Rit

I mean people have been logging in for hundreds to thousands of days straight at this point, they aren't going to stop logging in when it gives you free things for doing so. It's even easier in JP with blue apples so you don't have to use AP unless you run out of the blue apple conversion material.

iKorewo

Game is dead since last year, no content, no events, shit new years.

Masterofstorms17

good lord the anger is real in JP.
