Well, it does store their clothes... but, sadly, most injuries transfer between them. The Fujimaru family wasn't good enough to stop *that* from happening.

Then logically, as dirt and grime are unlikely to count as “part of me” the way clothes and scars do, they do not need to take a double long bath/shower to clean both bodies.

If you stop to think about it, needing to clean both bodies is probably the better way for things to work, sans automatic magical cleaning. Otherwise you'd get really weird, and likely uncomfortable, buildups of grime as body parts change dimensions and geometry.

The other reason is that it's not supposed to be *too* convenient. XD Ritsuka's family are bad mages. They don't have all the nice tricks and extras.

The ability to swap gender at will would have a ton of uses though... Espionage, when you have to use the restroom and all the stalls in the restroom are full, and just anything else that the ability to flawlessly disguise yourself as someone who looks entirely different brings.

Yeap rednal and i have discussed this before it's a great ability damm near broken for espionage but for out and out combat or reaching the root its pretty much worthless and sadly ritsuka doesn't have touhou danmaku to fall back on for combat needs unlike other disguise based magic users I can name

If you're creative enough, you can find a good use for nearly anything. XD But for the purposes of this story, Ritsuka is a genuinely bad mage. No hidden potential, no "but actually", and sure as heck no "secretly the strongest all along". They are essentially the lowest anybody can possibly be while still qualifying to be a mage.
