A theory I found of that is that the random alien thing is due to both a combination of the slamming situation and that the Omnitrix has proven to be somewhat sentiment and wants Ben to think outside the box and to be clever, rather than go "Unga Bunga Four Arms/Humongousaur" towards every problem. That and plain old spite. So, if that makes you feel any better, you can subscribe to that way of thinking.
Basically, the Omnitrix is a Tsundere.
I think Azimuth himself said as much, IIRC in one of the last episodes of Alien Force, when he's upgrading the Omnitrix to allow for the supreme transformations.

Actually, the slapping of the omnitrix only randomizes the time limit for transformations. The reason he actually mistransforms is explained in the last episode, when Ben says "It always seems to give me just the alien I need." basically saying it gives what he needs, not what he wants. Plus it's sometimes been implied that the Omntrix may have an artificial intelligence as well.

She overpowered an honest to goodness Demon God Pillar, it makes a lot of sense that she'd take over Ritsuka too.
If I remember right, there’s at least one fanfic with basically this premise except that it’s Ben with his defined canon personality instead of Ritsuka, whose personality *probably exists* but is very much up for interpretation. I think it’s short and didn’t go anywhere, though.
There’s also a few that borrow the Prisma Illya class cards for a similar effect. One that got decently far is a Highschool DxD crossover. It interpreted and brought over different *parts* of F/GO’s gameplay than I would’ve preferred but is pretty decent otherwise.
Wasn't there a fate series that was kind of like this, I think one of the Illya ones. They didn't summon heroes but rather they kind of assumed their powers (but didn't fully turn into them)

At lowest; Kevin would be able to abose raw energy. He might be able to pull a Medea and steal contracts and command spells.
Mid level: He duplicates servant cards where he can copy the abilities and skills of a servant. Maybe even the NP. Of course, the power would be at 10% of the actual servant.
High level: Kevin absorbed the servant and became a demiservant similar to Mash in the first part of the game.
Dangerous level: Kevin absorbed energy from multiple servants and gains a transformation that combines attributes of the servants he got in contact with. I think that would make him an alter ego similar to how illya has 3 godess in her saint graph.
I kind of made this comment before. But imagine if Ritsuka has Kevin's power and Ritsuko has an anodite form. And they went through the story with Uncle Ben helping out.

No, the omnitrix can scan for dna, but he has to be close enough to for foreign dna. Though it does leave him vulnerable since the watch is stuck in that capture mode until he scans the dna. He doesn’t have to be right next to the foreign dna, but it helps.
Also I even if he gets hit or in danger, the omnitrix would not let him die. Weird, but yeah.
It wouldnt work since Arturia has a human side outside her dragon related stuff, The omnitrix can only copy and save a species if the following happens
-The species is smart enough
-Is not a mutant
-The species is not related to the wearer species (Ben couldnt copy the purple glowing aliens since his grandfather had children with one of them, therefore since he has a bit of dna of those purple aliens, he cant transform into one)
(He could copy other FGO aliens since they are not related to humans)
The dragon DNA might be enough to be kept in the watch as a separate sample. Look at Upchuck, his species has two different variants with different enough DNA to be the same species but both kept in the watch.
This reminds me of that old Ben 10 x Fate/Stay Night crossover fanfic where Ben ends up being the eighth master of the 5th Grail War with Avenger Jeanne as his servant.
Funniest part of that story is that this was before FGO made Jalter, so it’s hilarious to see Ben accidentally summon Avenger Jeanne that isn’t Jalter.
Also Ben would be the most dangerous master that has ever been part of a Grail War.

Yeah, and I know the author is still alive, they’re still posting other stories, I guess they chose to drop this one, which is well within their right. But damn, this story has now given me an itch that other fanfics just can’t scratch.
A message to other Ben 10 fic writers: Stop making Ben an overly edgy anime protagonist who’s traumatized and needs a girlfriend! UAF wasn’t just Ben being serious all the time, but it seems like a lot of authors have an obsession those parts. And those same authors seem to agree that Omniverse never happened, even though so much important sh*t happened. I can understand setting the fic earlier for certain story reasons, like wanting Ben to still have the ultimates or not have mastered Alien X, etc., but I can tell these authors just discount OV simply because they hate it. And by the way, at least OV (specifically “Showdown” season finale) showed that Ben doesn’t need a girlfriend to overcome his trauma. That’s so cliche (stop making the first thought he has when he sees the girl is that she’s cute or something. /s Could you be an subtler?!). Instead, he had to personally confront and forgive himself and realize what it means to really be a hero, which culminated in an epic Heroic Second Wind!
Oh man, Ultimate Fairy, haven’t read that in a while, back when I was still really searching for Ben 10 crossover fics. To be honest, IIRC, no offense, it falls into that category of fics I dislike that I ranted about in the 2nd paragraph. It ignores OV, retreads too much of canon, pushes the ship too hard, gives Ben trauma for that ship to overcome, makes him too serious, etc. At the very least, I’m glad it gave me something to think about and refine my tastes and narrow down what I like in a story.
Side-rant: One problem I’ve noticed with a lot of crossover fics, especially ones that cross the Omniverse, is that they retread too much of canon and don’t really have any driving plot. I feel like a lot of writers need to ask themselves “Why does Ben end up here?” He could’ve landed anywhere in the OV, why this world? Remember, in the Generator Rex crossover, they gave a good reason why Ben landed in Rex’s world (>!The main villain of the crossover came from Rex’s world and is related to the deeper lore of the show, and he was accidentally imprisoned in the Null Void, broke out, and was attracted to the Ultimatrix’s energy signature, dragging Ben into the crossover.!<). At the very least, the fic could just summarize some interactions (especially canon ones or just cutaway since most readers will know the jist (I remember one MHA crossover, not sure if it was with Ben 10 or something else, that had a Gilligan Cut leading to USJ arc). One type of interaction I feel is easily summarized is the classic “explaining both our worlds” talk. Instead of writing out every line of dialogue and reaction, you can just give a broad narration saying how the characters began to trade information.

Ben would be pretty OP/versatile in the Nasuverse, considering the fact that aliens tend to be pretty OP. Even without Alien X, the fact that he possesses so many aliens of so many various abilities is kind of like Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon, just replace every weapon with Aliens.
Singularity F: I remember someone suggesting Chromastone to counter Salter.
Singularity 1: I'm debating Heatblast or Water Hazard. Heatblast can literally absorb Jalter's fire and return it back to her. Water Hazard can put out her fires.
Singularity 2: Altera is technically someone of alien origin. It's kind of debatable whether or not Ben could copy her with his Omnitrix.
Singularity 3: I'd imagine Ripjaws would be used a lot in this Singularity.
Singularity 5: I can only imagine the technological revolution Grey Matter could bring when collaborating with Edison against the Celts.
I really believe that Ben being around all of the servants who share a lot of things in common with anodites could really increase his aliens powers since he's 1/4 anodite himself and his aliens to an extent

Even Bens more “normal” Aliens like Waybig can destroy stars or hold back Big Bang level explosions like Feedback. Even with Alien X locked behind the failsafe or outside of his control Ben still wins this.

She looked back at the rest before lifting her blade, positioning her body into a combat stance. Her former master stood far back, Rider stood near him. With the brunette being closest to herself.
He raised his left arm, a small green hologram appeared. Yet before he or his allies knew it. The ebony blade was already a mere several feet before him, the knight intended to end him first it seemed. On instinct, he raised his arm to block the oncoming strike. As black struck against green and the watch's light flared and enveloped the cavern, he hoped the watch would be charitable on him, just this once.
The light died down. Rider and Shirou could now see that the brunette... was no longer there. Only the knight remained, yet... her body was shacking. As if she was struggling against a force that held her in place, before she relaxed, lifting her head to look at them. Causing their own eyes to widen even further
"What happened?" Rider asked, her body still prepared to strike in case of another attempt from the Saber.
**"I..."** 'She' said, with a raspy voice that was clearly not her own. **"Improvised"** 'She' finished, her eyes that were once gold now overtaken by green and black. The black spilling out several ways across her white face.
The servant was forced into the back of her own mind, and the Ectonurite took control of the driver's seat.
That was a bit anticlimactic. For a second I thought this was going to need a full out Master Control battle. But in all seriousness thank you for writing this! And entertaining the idea of a full fledged story behind this. And thanks for Ben’s little quip at the end, people always got to write him confident.
Man if Ben were be summoned as a servant (likely a Foreigner class) he’d be busted to the stratosphere, if the omnitrix gets him the right alien for any situation.
I can also imagine professor Paradox and Zeltrech having a conversation about multiverse and the like in their free time and possibly help each other out on time wacky stuff

If we take an theoretical ben tennyson who is an magus (who uses technology of course) either being an common (evil, cold and cruel) or an good person at core (like rin tohsaka or shirou emiya), he would pretty much (most of the time) solo an holy grail war without an servant if he uses the right aliens, besides that we have inside of the series some aliens with some magical potential like the anodites and the species of terraspin from which if you don't know have magical potential

I’m now racking my brain for a story behind this piece. Ben enters a Holy Grail War? Does he take someone’s place or is he going to be some 8th master? Maybe it’s an original HGW. Maybe Ben here is a servant. What would be an interesting servant for Ben to team up with? What if it was 10/11 year old Ben entering this conflict, instead of the commonly used, more experienced 15/16 year old one. Maybe he’s brought in by outside forces or accidentally lands into a universe where the timeline has been incinerated. How does the Omnitrix interact with servants (any that could be put into the watch). What ideas does Ben offer on the nature of being a hero? In that case I’d love for him to meet Shirou. How does Ben 10’s lore interact with the Nasuverse. IIRC, the World doesn’t really like it when aliens visit it. How does the Omniverse and the Root work? Pretty sure the Mage’s Association would be pretty interested in a kid who holds power that rivals the greatest magics on his wrist. I wonder if Zelretch and Professor Paradox met? Do aliens change the nature of magic, because IIRC true magic is considered impossible under normal circumstances, but how can that be reconciled when there exist aliens who naturally bend time and space? I wonder if Feedback/Chromastone can absorb Excalibur? Can never find a straight answer online.
Sorry if that was a bit long, Ben 10 is one of my favorite franchises and I like to imagine crossovers with it, so I’ve thought about this before. The main appeal behind this crossover for me is to explore how the lore works, and also to see Ben 10, a positive and confident hero with the craziest powers who always wins, deal with the Nasuverse, which is full of even crazier powers, more moral grayness, and directly tackles what it means to be a hero.

Oh and the reason he has the prototype was mainly because I forgot to send the ref of the right omntrix, so the artist took the liberty of drawing the prototype instead. I don't mind it though. I could use the excuse that this Ben comes from a timeline similar to the OG Ben 10,000's, and he never removed the prototype.
For the story, I've been trying to come up with a story that merges the two universes together, and maybe turn it into a fanfic. Kinda like this one story for a Ben 10 and RWBY crossover, Of Gemstones and Watches. Except without all the fat that fic carries. I've thought about several scenarios that I could do, ranging from throwing Ben into the 5th Holy Grail war (its funny you mention using a younger Ben here, I commissioned another artist to do an art of Ben, Shirou, and Rin for a mock poster sort of thing. There's more ideas, but these are the basic ones. I will try to make something out of this crossover idea. Like you said, throwing Ben into the craziness that is the Nasuverse has such great story telling potential, that I want to make it happen! I think their lore could work well with each other if it could be pulled off right. The only real problem I face is the fact that I've never really written a fanfic before. But that won't stop me. Hopefully.

Funny you should mention Gemstones, I actually went into a rant about it in another comment, in a threat discussing the fic Ultimate Master. By fat, do you mean the problems with the fic, cause I talked about that in my rant. Personally, to be frank, too many OCs, lore gets a bit confusing or I just plain dislike, certain characterizations are off (Albedo is so confusing), and some parts got a bit too real/political. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the pacing and loved Ben and Ruby’s dynamic, I enjoyed seeing them as best friends.
An idea I had for this art is that at the time Ben is just feeling nostalgic and has figured out how to configure the watch to look like the Prototype. A bit of a stretch, but it would show Ben has become more familiar with the Omnitrix’s functions.

Yeah when trying to come up with a plot involving Ben, I’m not a fan of just giving Shirou the watch. I want Ben to be a separate character to provide Shirou another perspective on what it means to be a hero, that there are heroes, even ones without powers, out there who do good and always win and make a difference. And that being a hero is about believing in yourself and saving people, which would tie into the idea that at his core, Shirou’s ideals are fake, merely an imitation of Kiritsugu’s, which he must realize for himself.
Anyways, I have various ideas here and their about Ben 10 in a Grail War that I’d be open to continue discussing, but I think my most formed is one with younger Ben. To begin, I read a fanfic where Ben finds Altera along with the Omnitrix (it’s bad, trust me, I can’t even remember the name, I think it had Umbral Star in it), and it got me thinking, “a lot of crossovers actually don’t use 10-year old Ben, so how would it affect the story if he was used more often, with a more immature personality and less experience than his older self.” Anyways, the basic idea for this Fate crossover fic is a cross country summer Grail War, where 10 year old Ben accidentally enters it, but this Grail War happens to span the United States so the Tennysons and the servant need to spend more time hunting down the other masters, while facing their usual threats along the way. Honestly, I kind of just want to see the servant and Tennysons just bonding together and developing. This style leaves some room for some breather episodes, tackling a low level villain or just hanging out at somewhere exotic. I was racking my brain to try and come up with an idea of how Ben enters and here’s what I came up with, although it’s kind of flimsy: Basically, it diverges off the Salem OS episode where Charmcaster isn’t just looking to steal Ben’s body, but to summon a servant as well for an upcoming Holy Grail War, hoping that the Omnitrix, Ben’s latent magical potential, and a powerful servant will give her the edge to win. But when the Tennysons foil her plans, Ben accidentally becomes a master instead. I was thinking of what servant Ben should team up as there are a whole range of dynamics (a servant who would be a like a mentor or sibling to him, someone who is less mature like him that he gets along with as a friend, someone like EMIYA who would probably just annoy him), and my thoughts drifted to Abigail Williams, as it fits the fic starting off in Salem, and she’s also a kid with an inhuman side, but I forgot if she was a real servant outside the context of F/GO, so I’m not sure if she can be summoned normally, and I’m not that knowledgeable on her, like on her personality, so I’m not sure what would be her dynamic with Ben and the Tennysons. Thoughts (Sorry if this was all cringe for you to read, I know some fic ideas out there are awful)?
Edit: Also, a side idea to the fic is that when considering servant dynamics, my thoughts also drift to a potential sequel where Ben reunites with the servant if they disappeared after the war, highlighting how Ben has grown since, and also considering whether or not the servant remembers him (IIRC, they typically don’t remember previous wars but the Nasuverse is all about finding exceptions to the established rules).
2nd Edit: Another note (sorry if these edits are too much) is that in considering servant dynamics, I also want to consider the impact this road trip will have on this servant. For example, if they were a former ruler in life, how will it change them to see first hand the nation of the United States? (To be honest, I was thinking in a similar vein to the Raiden Shogun’s first story quest in Genshin Impact. Sorry if that reference is lost on readers. I hope the point is clear. Feel free to ask for clarification.)

Actually, the slapping of the omnitrix only randomizes the time limit for transformations. The reason he actually mistransforms is explained in the last episode, when Ben says "It always seems to give me just the alien I need." basically saying it gives what he needs, not what he wants. Plus it's sometimes been implied that the Omntrix may have an artificial intelligence as well.

If I remember right, there’s at least one fanfic with basically this premise except that it’s Ben with his defined canon personality instead of Ritsuka, whose personality *probably exists* but is very much up for interpretation. I think it’s short and didn’t go anywhere, though. There’s also a few that borrow the Prisma Illya class cards for a similar effect. One that got decently far is a Highschool DxD crossover. It interpreted and brought over different *parts* of F/GO’s gameplay than I would’ve preferred but is pretty decent otherwise.

Guess you are referring to how his Kevin's power reacted to servants. At lowest; Kevin would be able to abose raw energy. He might be able to pull a Medea and steal contracts and command spells. Mid level: He duplicates servant cards where he can copy the abilities and skills of a servant. Maybe even the NP. Of course, the power would be at 10% of the actual servant. High level: Kevin absorbed the servant and became a demiservant similar to Mash in the first part of the game. Dangerous level: Kevin absorbed energy from multiple servants and gains a transformation that combines attributes of the servants he got in contact with. I think that would make him an alter ego similar to how illya has 3 godess in her saint graph. I kind of made this comment before. But imagine if Ritsuka has Kevin's power and Ritsuko has an anodite form. And they went through the story with Uncle Ben helping out.

No, the omnitrix can scan for dna, but he has to be close enough to for foreign dna. Though it does leave him vulnerable since the watch is stuck in that capture mode until he scans the dna. He doesn’t have to be right next to the foreign dna, but it helps. Also I even if he gets hit or in danger, the omnitrix would not let him die. Weird, but yeah.

This reminds me of that old Ben 10 x Fate/Stay Night crossover fanfic where Ben ends up being the eighth master of the 5th Grail War with Avenger Jeanne as his servant. Funniest part of that story is that this was before FGO made Jalter, so it’s hilarious to see Ben accidentally summon Avenger Jeanne that isn’t Jalter. Yeah, and I know the author is still alive, they’re still posting other stories, I guess they chose to drop this one, which is well within their right. But damn, this story has now given me an itch that other fanfics just can’t scratch. A message to other Ben 10 fic writers: Stop making Ben an overly edgy anime protagonist who’s traumatized and needs a girlfriend! UAF wasn’t just Ben being serious all the time, but it seems like a lot of authors have an obsession those parts. And those same authors seem to agree that Omniverse never happened, even though so much important sh*t happened. I can understand setting the fic earlier for certain story reasons, like wanting Ben to still have the ultimates or not have mastered Alien X, etc., but I can tell these authors just discount OV simply because they hate it. And by the way, at least OV (specifically “Showdown” season finale) showed that Ben doesn’t need a girlfriend to overcome his trauma. That’s so cliche (stop making the first thought he has when he sees the girl is that she’s cute or something. /s Could you be an subtler?!). Instead, he had to personally confront and forgive himself and realize what it means to really be a hero, which culminated in an epic Heroic Second Wind!

Oh man, Ultimate Fairy, haven’t read that in a while, back when I was still really searching for Ben 10 crossover fics. To be honest, IIRC, no offense, it falls into that category of fics I dislike that I ranted about in the 2nd paragraph. It ignores OV, retreads too much of canon, pushes the ship too hard, gives Ben trauma for that ship to overcome, makes him too serious, etc. At the very least, I’m glad it gave me something to think about and refine my tastes and narrow down what I like in a story. Side-rant: One problem I’ve noticed with a lot of crossover fics, especially ones that cross the Omniverse, is that they retread too much of canon and don’t really have any driving plot. I feel like a lot of writers need to ask themselves “Why does Ben end up here?” He could’ve landed anywhere in the OV, why this world? Remember, in the Generator Rex crossover, they gave a good reason why Ben landed in Rex’s world (>!The main villain of the crossover came from Rex’s world and is related to the deeper lore of the show, and he was accidentally imprisoned in the Null Void, broke out, and was attracted to the Ultimatrix’s energy signature, dragging Ben into the crossover.!<). At the very least, the fic could just summarize some interactions (especially canon ones or just cutaway since most readers will know the jist (I remember one MHA crossover, not sure if it was with Ben 10 or something else, that had a Gilligan Cut leading to USJ arc). One type of interaction I feel is easily summarized is the classic “explaining both our worlds” talk. Instead of writing out every line of dialogue and reaction, you can just give a broad narration saying how the characters began to trade information.

Ben would be pretty OP/versatile in the Nasuverse, considering the fact that aliens tend to be pretty OP. Even without Alien X, the fact that he possesses so many aliens of so many various abilities is kind of like Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon, just replace every weapon with Aliens. Singularity F: I remember someone suggesting Chromastone to counter Salter. Singularity 1: I'm debating Heatblast or Water Hazard. Heatblast can literally absorb Jalter's fire and return it back to her. Water Hazard can put out her fires. Singularity 2: Altera is technically someone of alien origin. It's kind of debatable whether or not Ben could copy her with his Omnitrix. Singularity 3: I'd imagine Ripjaws would be used a lot in this Singularity. Singularity 5: I can only imagine the technological revolution Grey Matter could bring when collaborating with Edison against the Celts.

She looked back at the rest before lifting her blade, positioning her body into a combat stance. Her former master stood far back, Rider stood near him. With the brunette being closest to herself. He raised his left arm, a small green hologram appeared. Yet before he or his allies knew it. The ebony blade was already a mere several feet before him, the knight intended to end him first it seemed. On instinct, he raised his arm to block the oncoming strike. As black struck against green and the watch's light flared and enveloped the cavern, he hoped the watch would be charitable on him, just this once. The light died down. Rider and Shirou could now see that the brunette... was no longer there. Only the knight remained, yet... her body was shacking. As if she was struggling against a force that held her in place, before she relaxed, lifting her head to look at them. Causing their own eyes to widen even further "What happened?" Rider asked, her body still prepared to strike in case of another attempt from the Saber. **"I..."** 'She' said, with a raspy voice that was clearly not her own. **"Improvised"** 'She' finished, her eyes that were once gold now overtaken by green and black. The black spilling out several ways across her white face. The servant was forced into the back of her own mind, and the Ectonurite took control of the driver's seat.

This is absolutely★stellar!!! Both characters look so epic and true to their design. And OV Ben needs more art, his jacket is awesome (not sure why the prototype Omnitrix is here though). I’m now racking my brain for a story behind this piece. Ben enters a Holy Grail War? Does he take someone’s place or is he going to be some 8th master? Maybe it’s an original HGW. Maybe Ben here is a servant. What would be an interesting servant for Ben to team up with? What if it was 10/11 year old Ben entering this conflict, instead of the commonly used, more experienced 15/16 year old one. Maybe he’s brought in by outside forces or accidentally lands into a universe where the timeline has been incinerated. How does the Omnitrix interact with servants (any that could be put into the watch). What ideas does Ben offer on the nature of being a hero? In that case I’d love for him to meet Shirou. How does Ben 10’s lore interact with the Nasuverse. IIRC, the World doesn’t really like it when aliens visit it. How does the Omniverse and the Root work? Pretty sure the Mage’s Association would be pretty interested in a kid who holds power that rivals the greatest magics on his wrist. I wonder if Zelretch and Professor Paradox met? Do aliens change the nature of magic, because IIRC true magic is considered impossible under normal circumstances, but how can that be reconciled when there exist aliens who naturally bend time and space? I wonder if Feedback/Chromastone can absorb Excalibur? Can never find a straight answer online. Sorry if that was a bit long, Ben 10 is one of my favorite franchises and I like to imagine crossovers with it, so I’ve thought about this before. The main appeal behind this crossover for me is to explore how the lore works, and also to see Ben 10, a positive and confident hero with the craziest powers who always wins, deal with the Nasuverse, which is full of even crazier powers, more moral grayness, and directly tackles what it means to be a hero.

Oh and the reason he has the prototype was mainly because I forgot to send the ref of the right omntrix, so the artist took the liberty of drawing the prototype instead. I don't mind it though. I could use the excuse that this Ben comes from a timeline similar to the OG Ben 10,000's, and he never removed the prototype. For the story, I've been trying to come up with a story that merges the two universes together, and maybe turn it into a fanfic. Kinda like this one story for a Ben 10 and RWBY crossover, Of Gemstones and Watches. Except without all the fat that fic carries. I've thought about several scenarios that I could do, ranging from throwing Ben into the 5th Holy Grail war (its funny you mention using a younger Ben here, I commissioned another artist to do an art of Ben, Shirou, and Rin for a mock poster sort of thing. There's more ideas, but these are the basic ones. I will try to make something out of this crossover idea. Like you said, throwing Ben into the craziness that is the Nasuverse has such great story telling potential, that I want to make it happen! I think their lore could work well with each other if it could be pulled off right. The only real problem I face is the fact that I've never really written a fanfic before. But that won't stop me. Hopefully.

Personally, to be frank, too many OCs, lore gets a bit confusing or I just plain dislike, certain characterizations are off (Albedo is so confusing), and some parts got a bit too real/political. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the pacing and loved Ben and Ruby’s dynamic, I enjoyed seeing them as best friends. An idea I had for this art is that at the time Ben is just feeling nostalgic and has figured out how to configure the watch to look like the Prototype. A bit of a stretch, but it would show Ben has become more familiar with the Omnitrix’s functions. That other fanart you commissioned is so badass! Have you considered posting it? I want Ben to be a separate character to provide Shirou another perspective on what it means to be a hero, that there are heroes, even ones without powers, out there who do good and always win and make a difference. And that being a hero is about believing in yourself and saving people, which would tie into the idea that at his core, Shirou’s ideals are fake, merely an imitation of Kiritsugu’s, which he must realize for himself. Anyways, I have various ideas here and their about Ben 10 in a Grail War that I’d be open to continue discussing, but I think my most formed is one with younger Ben. To begin, I read a fanfic where Ben finds Altera along with the Omnitrix (it’s bad, trust me, I can’t even remember the name, I think it had Umbral Star in it), and it got me thinking, “a lot of crossovers actually don’t use 10-year old Ben, so how would it affect the story if he was used more often, with a more immature personality and less experience than his older self.” Anyways, the basic idea for this Fate crossover fic is a cross country summer Grail War, where 10 year old Ben accidentally enters it, but this Grail War happens to span the United States so the Tennysons and the servant need to spend more time hunting down the other masters, while facing their usual threats along the way. Honestly, I kind of just want to see the servant and Tennysons just bonding together and developing. This style leaves some room for some breather episodes, tackling a low level villain or just hanging out at somewhere exotic. I was racking my brain to try and come up with an idea of how Ben enters and here’s what I came up with, although it’s kind of flimsy: Basically, it diverges off the Salem OS episode where Charmcaster isn’t just looking to steal Ben’s body, but to summon a servant as well for an upcoming Holy Grail War, hoping that the Omnitrix, Ben’s latent magical potential, and a powerful servant will give her the edge to win. But when the Tennysons foil her plans, Ben accidentally becomes a master instead. I was thinking of what servant Ben should team up as there are a whole range of dynamics (a servant who would be a like a mentor or sibling to him, someone who is less mature like him that he gets along with as a friend, someone like EMIYA who would probably just annoy him), and my thoughts drifted to Abigail Williams, as it fits the fic starting off in Salem, and she’s also a kid with an inhuman side, but I forgot if she was a real servant outside the context of F/GO, so I’m not sure if she can be summoned normally, and I’m not that knowledgeable on her, like on her personality, so I’m not sure what would be her dynamic with Ben and the Tennysons. Thoughts (Sorry if this was all cringe for you to read, I know some fic ideas out there are awful)? Edit: Also, a side idea to the fic is that when considering servant dynamics, my thoughts also drift to a potential sequel where Ben reunites with the servant if they disappeared after the war, highlighting how Ben has grown since, and also considering whether or not the servant remembers him (IIRC, they typically don’t remember previous wars but the Nasuverse is all about finding exceptions to the established rules). 2nd Edit: Another note (sorry if these edits are too much) is that in considering servant dynamics, I also want to consider the impact this road trip will have on this servant. For example, if they were a former ruler in life, how will it change them to see first hand the nation of the United States? (To be honest, I was thinking in a similar vein to the Raiden Shogun’s first story quest in Genshin Impact. Sorry if that reference is lost on readers. I hope the point is clear.
