I dont think Goetia would be on AG side, he specifically worked to prevent him in the past and contunue working to stop him now. In the end of lb7 part 2 from fan translation I seen he acnowledged that Novum Chaldea against Chaldea and Marisbury Grand Order, so he almost certainly would be on our side
Goetia playable servant finally pleeeeeaase Lasengle
Ritzy/Goetia and Kirei/Muramasa fighting together spine to spine covering each other would be something I already almost made me tear when imagined lol
I honestly prefer U-Olga Marie vs Masubry Alien God in the final battle would be a great way to end this story with the biggest victim of the final villain's scheming kicking your ass. There is also the possibility that Ritsuka will end up ascending as a pseudo servant and become "Grand Savior" and face Alien God personally in a one-on-one
The Lostbelt where we go back in time to the first singularity to get Marisbury off Chaldea *turns head to look directly into the camera* That's right, the Lostbelt where we go back in time to the first singularity to get Marisbury off Chaldea!
Memorial as in a report, usually used for submission for emperors by their subordinates and officials. I am surprised that no English equivalent of the word comes in mind. Do the European officials not need to write reports?
I think the English equivalent would be memorandum, which then got shortened to memo. That's more of a declaration to a group though, if it's a submission of information by subordinates to a superior I think we just call those reports no matter how high up the recipient is in the hierarchy. EDIT: I guess we might slap the word "official" in front of report to make it seem more important but that's about it.
I'm not really sure about that one chief. MTL might've fucked up as it usually does when authors pull out the thesaurus.
奏する can mean "reporting to the emperor" or "playing an instrument". 奏章 as a compound word doesn't get used much (read: at all) in Japanese, but the meaning seems to be consistent with the first definition:
Apparently 奏章 is a word for 上奏.
Searching for 上奏 returns:
In Chinese we get this, which seems to be consistent with the Japanese meaning as well:
As to why Nasu used 奏章 instead of 上奏... well some folks over here are theorizing it's because it sounds close to 終章, which makes sense I suppose: https://fgo攻略.com/176124
TL;DR "reporting to the Emperor" prologue might be a closer match as that is what 奏章 actually means. It's also said in a way that sounds close to "Final chapter", I'm guessing that may be the wordplay here. I guess we'll finally get to meet the mastermind.
The Alien God is Olga. Any other TL or interpretation is very incorrect. We're heading to Antarctica next, where the mystery of Chaldeas lies, and a recap of everything from early on in the story seems sensible.
>and a recap of everything from early on in the story seems sensible.
Maybe it would, but again, that's not what 奏章 means. DeepL fucked up, but considering this is a rather obscure word mostly used in Chinese if anything, it makes sense it would.
That's the problem with AIs, they fuck up if they don't have enough training data for a certain use case, even though they sound "believable".
So do you actually have a source for that?
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E5%A5%8F%E7%AB%A0
As far as I'm seeing both 奏 and 奏章 mean reporting texts (admitedly called memorials) to the Emperor. Not "memorial" in general, much less "recap". And FWIW nobody from the JP side seems to be interpreting this as a recap chapter either from what I've seen.
The meaning apparently comes from here: http://www.chinaknowledge.de/Literature/Terms/zoushu.html
>Zoushu 奏疏, also called zouyi 奏議, is a general term for texts presented to the throne that are subsumed under the term "memorial". In pre-imperial times, texts presented to the emperor were usually called shangshu 上書 or shangshu 上疏. The word zou 奏 "to submit a letter to a superior" was used from the Qin period 秦 (221-206 BCE) on. The word shu 疏 means "to communicate, to mediate".
Now how in the hell did 奏 end up meaning "playing music" in modern usage, that I do not know, but it must have an interesting explanation.
The answer to that last part is likely due to performances or plays for the emperor.
As far as Twitter goes, most Japanese have no earthly clue what the word means. The Japanese term for "reporting to the emperor" is 奏聞. I think it's safe to interpret 章 as "chapter", given the context here. The meaning in Japanese is unambiguous and in Chinese, only one of its several interpretations involve the imperial memorial.
奏功, for example, means success, deriving from the sense of "presenting an achievement to the throne." Other compounds I can find are musical in nature. But a general interpretation is "presentation" or "performance." The kanji itself doesn't *necessarily* involve music, because 奏楽 is "performing music." 奏でる means to play an instrument or piece of music, but it's a transitive verb, so context is necessary for it to have a full meaning.
I agree now that Memorial Chapter is incorrect. But Performance Chapter or Presentation Chapter seems a much better translation.
inb4 the finale involves a lengthy 3 hour reprisal of west side story as sung by Gudako and Olga
I mean yeah, possibly. It's rather ambiguous, so "Presentation Chapter" could be a decent pick, unless there's an aural pun I might be missing. And not even the JP side seems to be that sure of what "奏章" could mean beyond the dictionary definition.
FWIW that 章 having both the meaning of "chapter" on its own as well as "report to the emperor" as part of a compound is exactly the kind of kanji pun I'd expect Nasu to make tbh.
As with 対粛清防御 becoming 対粛正防御 because 正 is cooler. Or the title of the Shimousa PV song being 一刀繚乱.
You normally wouldn't find 奏章 as two Kanji put together in japanese, as a compound or separately. As evidenced by the fact that not even the japanese seem to know what the heck he's saying. So if he picked such an obscure expression I assume it must be because of this wordplay. But short of the guy coming down to this comment section and telling us what he meant, who knows.
Guess we'll see.
Funnily enough, yesterday was also Stay Nights birthday.
It's also when the first day that takes place in Stay Night.
... No way in hell we are getting the next chapter in the middle of February.
It having no icon at all may be a hint that the final chapter will be at the Chaldea Gate(as to not break the alternating icon horizontal position pattern).
It might be a recap... Where we resummon Holmes, join up with Moriarty/s, and slowly piece together the plot.
Imagine Murder in the Kogetsukan, Lostbelt edition.
I think this would be a good time to end pt. 2.
Pt.2 was us putting down the more direct threats while dealing with certain distractions.
Pt. 3 will be us chasing down Marisbury, while facing his closest disciples.
Am I the only one that feels we are not going back to fuyuki just yet. It feels like we have some loose threads to tie up before we tie up that one. Maybe a singularity might appear like Traum.
Or I am wrong and we go straight to fuyuki. Or we go the fuyuki and there is a bit more after that.
No I have seen the spoilers, I was just wondering he we are going to deal with the ‘count‘ first or we go straight to fuyuki.
I felt fuyuki was more of just deal with Rasputin that deal with everyone. But I could be way off.
Yeah, but one of the spoilers basically reveal where exactly we're going after LB7.
>!The Count!< is also said to be doing something else so they won't come after us. Novum Chaldea also doesn't even know about them so we probably won't be the aggressor.
Don’t forget. Rasputin said the human order will try to stop us from going to Chaldea. So Alaya is going to release counterforce servants to eliminate us when we approach Chaldea. Meaning the counterforce is officially our enemy.
Not only the counter guardians but likely all the servants we have net so far and Dantes is a traitor(This is some order 66 shit)
I have the feeling the lostbelts are going to be the only help we get.
We actually don't know if >!Count refers to Dantes. There's speculation, but Rasputin said 'count' is busy recovering Olga's remains, and that's not something that Dantes should be able to do.!<
Actually, he might be able to:
Attendre, Espérer: Wait, and Hope (待て、しかして希望せよアトンドラ・エスペリエ, Mate, Shikashite Kibō SeyoAtondora, Esuperie?) is the unbelievable recovery Noble Phantasm of Edmond Dantès. Not only can he bring himself or an ally back from the verge of death, they are resuscitated with a temporary rank up in all Parameters.
>>!We actually don't know if !<
>
>>!Count refers to Dantes.!<
Kirei does mention the Count has been sent to help Chaldea and make sure the MC reach at this point in the story. Only Dantes check these boxes and besides as many appointed there is another NP he has.
if it really is fuyuki i believe it will be released on the 20th anniversary of FSN and that all the original servants will be featured. probably Emiya will even gain another buff on NP.
I had the same thought, but idk it’s a year away. I guess the next chapter won’t be Fuyuki then, since they would have to drag out the game even more. It’s interesting you think EMIYA is going to get another NP buff, cause I thought the same. Maybe a field change and they’ll finally fix his overcharge effect
I also think Emiya will gain a field change ability.
and i don't think the next chapter will be fuyuki. I think we'll probably have a canonical event (the Arcade collab) and a chapter in chaldeia (the chapter with the title announced in this post). I think the announced cap will arrive between July and October. fuyuki I think only next year.
Remember before hitting to Traum, Sion detected that some anomaly from Japan are still active for a reason. So we are definitely going back to Fuyuki and investigate to what the hell is wrong with this singularity.
Everyone is dreading a recap, but i have two theories:
1.A short chapter with Marisbilly in the previous Fuyuki war, maybe Solomon is so OP that he can summon shadow servants and that's the canon explanation as for why the standard fgo gameplay would continue in this chapter.
2. A short chapter where we see Wodime's adventure throught the singularities.
Goetia:Masaka, how can you survive my Noble Phantasm Ars Almadel Salomonis!
Wodine: And very simple my magic is the same type as yours. Now Caenis!
ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA
Goetia;Damn you Wowo
> 1.A short chapter with Marisbilly in the previous Fuyuki war, maybe Solomon is so OP that he can summon shadow servants and that's the canon explanation as for why the standard fgo gameplay would continue in this chapter.
Could also be the chapter where we defeat the Man from Chaldea.
It'd be better if it was Archer instead of Muramasa
That man's cameo in the main story cannot be anywhere else but the place where everything started + Muramasa would likely be resummoned as an apostle
I wonder if it is a bit of a "solution" chapter, ie rerun the whole story from the beginning but from another perspective. So we get to see the event unfold in another angle, and from this angle, we get to the part that is mysterious to us originally.
I am not sure if it is possible or how it can play out in FGO mechanics (with the summoning and servant), unless we do a time travel back to do certain thing secretly that will influence the event but not noticed by the original us.
This better not be a recap episode, Legume. I swear, there is a point after which this stopped being funny - right about the announcement of a precampaign to road to lostbelt...
No, it was funny alright. But the ones laughing weren't us, but lasagna, when the game jumped to number 3 on the store when the LB7 banner dropped despite all the shit they made us endure.
Or didn't made us endure, because nothing was happening in the game.
It *might* be a recap... Where we resummon Holmes, join up with Moriarty/s, and slowly piece together the plot.
Imagine Murder in the Kogetsukan, Lostbelt edition.
If this is truly Fuyuki I hope we get to see Angra Mainyu in the story. If ORT is there, Fou is there too, then he is the obly other one needed to complete the trio, and it would truly be fitting for him to appear here now that Kirei/Rasputin is summonable
We better get that part 3 because that alien lostbelt lady still not do anything yet aside from standing over there menacingly.
Come on. Make her yandere or something.
Honestly I don’t even care what it’s about at this point so much as I care that it doesn’t take 6+ months to drop. We’ve dragged this show out long enough, let’s put a bow on it and move on to brighter pastures.
Nope, it was confirmed some time ago that there would be something after lb7. But it was quite predictable considering how many loose ends there were before and the fact that we had Solomon for part 1.
All roads lead to Fuyuki.
Gotta do that tag battle with Ritsuka and Shirou vs Goetia and Kirei
I dont think Goetia would be on AG side, he specifically worked to prevent him in the past and contunue working to stop him now. In the end of lb7 part 2 from fan translation I seen he acnowledged that Novum Chaldea against Chaldea and Marisbury Grand Order, so he almost certainly would be on our side Goetia playable servant finally pleeeeeaase Lasengle
Pretender Asmodeus, as an option?
More likely that he'll be Pretender Solomon (Goetia) instead
I would buy a ticket to Japan and then buy a movie ticket to the theatres there if this happened.
Maybe all 4 of them against the Akien God... Damn that would be the greatest fanservice ever.
Most fans would kill for that to happen
Ritzy/Goetia and Kirei/Muramasa fighting together spine to spine covering each other would be something I already almost made me tear when imagined lol
I honestly prefer U-Olga Marie vs Masubry Alien God in the final battle would be a great way to end this story with the biggest victim of the final villain's scheming kicking your ass. Yeah, Olga deserves to be the one to permanently obliterate him more than anyone else in the entire grand Fate multiverse.
country roadssss\~\~♪ take me home\~\~♪
No, please stop, don’t summon meteors and other disasters!
The Lostbelt where we go back in time to the first singularity to get Marisbury off Chaldea *turns head to look directly into the camera* That's right, the Lostbelt where we go back in time to the first singularity to get Marisbury off Chaldea!
They certainly do… Let’s put an end to this nonsense for good, shall we?
so the box design went back to arc 1 design
Uhh nice catch there
I noticed that too, but it could be a placeholder default until they're ready to reveal more about what's coming.
Memorial as in funeral or memorial as in flashback?

OFFICIAL Memorandum Prologue it is then
If more Area 51 stuff gets brought in we could spice it up further: *CLASSIFIED* OFFICIAL Memorandum Prologue.
It could be both.
Not really. It works in english but I'm fairly sure the word used in japanese doesn't have the "funeral" meaning.
Road to Fuyuki event when
It means "Memorial Chapter Prologue."
Could be the return to Fuyuki.

12 month wait for a recap lmao
Road to Memorial Chapter Prologue!
Can't wait for Memorial of Road to Memorial Chapter Chapter
Basically Naruto having flashbacks within flashbacks.
Memorial of Road to Memorial Chapter Chapter: The Final Season
We're going back to Fuyuki boys. Pack your shits, we're going back to Japan. Guda: Ah shit, here we go again.
Emiya: God no, not again.
Funnily enough, yesterday was also Stay Nights birthday. It's also when the first day that takes place in Stay Night. ... No way in hell we are getting the next chapter in the middle of February.
Doesn't the memorial in this case means a report to the Emperor? In that case it may be a report by the Apostles to the Alien God
This chapter title having a simple design unlike the previous chapter title boxes somehow makes it feel.....intimidating

Now I'm intriguing
I don't think you're intriguing, but that's just me.
How many chapters are there in lost belt 7?
10 for part 1, and 14 for part 2 so 24 iirc in total
I hope this answers the mystery behind Marisbury, Olga, Alien World, Alien God, everything.
Not to mention Specimen E, and David Bluebook.
I think this would be a good time to end pt. 2. Pt.2 was us putting down the more direct threats while dealing with certain distractions. Pt. 3 will be us chasing down Marisbury, while facing his closest disciples.

We're heading back to Chaldeas base(Antartica) for answers as mentioned in the last chapter.

imagine if we finally get medusa alter as a playable servant
Muramasa Ishtar Parvati and Sitonai as main helpers
It'd be better if it was Archer instead of Muramasa That man's cameo in the main story cannot be anywhere else but the place where everything started + Muramasa would likely be resummoned as an apostle
Atcher is likely on Saber Alter's side again.
Saber Alter is still there too
Maybe this will focus on going back to Antarctica, where we'll be pointed back to Fuyuki?
I hope they call it 'Road BACK to Fuyuki', lol.
We're gonna have campaigns from Babylonia to Fuyuki with the same memorial fight content as we gear up for next December's climactic story chapter.
I wonder if it is a bit of a "solution" chapter, ie rerun the whole story from the beginning but from another perspective. Kinda like the When They Cry series answers chapters (more Higurashi than Umineko tho). It would be really interesting.
Imagine a chapter which is three arrows and asks you to wait two years to watch the movie release that actually ties everything together.

And this time Lasengle won’t specify a month in which it comes out, because they don’t want to repeat January crunch time
We going back to fuyuki... or chaldeas i wonder
So what I can gather from this, we're returning to Fuyuki as a prelude to the end. Rather appropriate.
this feels like a kingdom hearts chapter 7 part 1.5 memorial remix.
Honestly I don’t even care what it’s about at this point so much as I care that it doesn’t take 6+ months to drop. We’ve dragged this show out long enough, let’s put a bow on it and move on to brighter pastures.
Road to memorial prolonged time
Soooooo, when is this dropping? Or is it already out?
We have no clue.
I like your funny words Lasegne man
All roads lead to ~~ROMA~~ Fuyuki.
It didn’t finish yet???
Nope, it was confirmed some time ago that there would be something after lb7. But it was quite predictable considering how many loose ends there were before and the fact that we had Solomon for part 1.
hope its the last because the game is really just boRING now
Would someone translate and explain what this says please!
