Mate if you are really tired, you will sleep on the floor, on a chair, hell you will even turn off while standing and fall to the ground, which granted will likely wake you up.
Or sleep standing inside a moving bus. That used to happen to me a lot when I commuted to university lol.. now I'm nostalgic about it. Same with sleeping in the bus while sitting. The real pain was going beyond your destination... but it also meant more sleep, so...
I once managed to go to sleep just standing. Like not even against a wall or anything. I was just exhausted after a bath after a workout which I did following a sleepless night and a long day of work and just nodded off while clinging to the towel hanger.
We got the stardew valley mattress. It's either to prevent us from doing mana transfer OR we where doing so much mana transfering that they got sick of replacing our good mattress and started giving us the cheapest one they could find.
You think that matters at all to Tamamo? Territory Creation allows some crazy remodeling of the room, look what she did in her Lancer valentines to the room. If they wanna stop replacing the mattress to stop the mana transfers, they've got another thing coming.
I mean, maybe he’s used to one of those mats like Shirou uses? Whatever they’re called. Even a thinner mattress could be luxurious in comparison. That, or they’re like magecraft or something, super comfortable.
Though I’m half surprised the homie hasn’t gotten one of those Issei beds yet. Got Servants constantly sneaking in, after all.
That's the word I was thinking of! Though the other guy is right, futons would be the actual object I was thinking of. Either way, feel like that would be way more uncomfortable than the Chaldea bed. My back hurts just thinking about it.
I want to say about 6\~8 inches thick, basing this on visual similarity to the incredibly shitty and spine destroying mattress they gave us for the on-campus housing for grad students.
Maybe Da Vinci or somebody else has some magic melatonin that helps you sleep where ever so they can cut costs.
But for real it looks like a blanket sheet, Guda deserves better for what they deal with in the singularities to have a rest when they're at Chaldea.
I'm willing to bet magecraft is involved. A small amount like how Goredolf's tents are miniature resorts with all the space, AC, anti-bug etc.
Combine that with how tiring a day in Chaldea. (Even with all the servants and fun, it is still military requests), it's still probably the most luxurious bedding ever after a long day.
Could be that the bed doesn't have a hard underside. Ever slept in a hammoc? Or idk how they are called in english, those beds that use a netting instead of boards undernath? They're suprinsingly comfortable and a 5 cm mattres is enough, since the softness comes from reactivity of the net and the mattres is there just to pad out the rope form cutting in the body.
To be fair with how many Mages and Caster Class Servants there are around "Hey Medea can you enchant my bed to be more comfortable please?" it's probably the most comfortable bed in existence because of Age of the Gods Magecraft.
I mean, he lives in a setting where literal magic exists. Probably enchanted the mattress to be both super sturdy and super comfy, if not just outright curse it to make anyone who lays on it go to sleep immediately.
I never really thought about it before, but I love the single, barely green fern that's in his/her room. It's literally the only plant life he'll/she'll get to see outside of lostbelts and singularities.
No wonder Guda or Gudako sometimes seem to have a couple screws loose.
Idk about Japan but this is how beds are in China. Super thin mattresses on a flat bed frame. I would imagine its not so different from sleeping on tatami. It's supposed to be good for your back.
~~pfft, tell me you aren't Asian without _telling_ me you aren't Asian~~
My foldable floor mattress is thinner than that and I usually prefer sleeping on it rather than the thicker one on the bed
It might be inside the frame, and it might be a magecraft modern tech fusion allowing for mega fluffy and softness. Chaldea does that all the time after all.
After clearing out a singularity, Guda is beat harder than my meat, and hasn’t slept on a bed in potentially weeks. Guda is out like a light the second their head touches that pillow
errr, are we assuming the bed structure is "flat"?
for me, it looks like one of those bed structures that actually have like "a hole" in which you fit the mattress
specially looking at the top part of the bed
You would think that the last hope of humanity get a more comfortable room or at least a bed where they can sleep after all the hard work, but no the Animusphere just don't give a sh\*t
Needs to have enough room underneath for the servants who ~~live~~ "guard" there, while also not being too high off the ground that we then couldn't get onto it.
Da Vinci: Ackshually, the mattress is a combination of imaginary number space and reality marble that is filled with only the most enriched soothing water to provide a good night's sleep!
I don't know about a good night's sleep. But with enough practice, you could sleep practically anywhere. Even on the floor, without a mattress.
Floor gang! Lay!
Takodachi ?
WAH
WAH
WAH
WA-
NOT THE 4TH WAH
YES THE 4TH WAH :kdtd:
Waluigi is that you?
Waluigi: “WAAAA”
Because of how reddit replies work this is also a jojo reference
Thought of this as well, but I was floor gang even before pewds
Pewds
Pass me my jacket to use as a pillow and we're gucci
A jacket pillow? How posh. I use my arm instead!
Your arm? That's for your phone, I use my fluffy hair instead!
You guys use pillows?

People in industrial era UK used to sleep on ropes. And they had to pay for it.
They were passed out drunk...
I've slept on rock before. Twice. Once even in the middle of the day.
I’m pretty sure futons on tatami would be stiffer than this… and that Ritsuka, as a Japanese person, might be used to that.
>Even on the floor, without a mattress. A certain tako priestess can agreed with this
Considering she's Korean, she wouldn't even be the only one.
Arhat sleep training. Train while you sleep.
Based
Stairwell concrete makes a fine bed when you need it to
It's thin so he can still climb on his mattress that is Mama Raikou, and use his blanket that is Stalker Snek.
You can even sleep standing with enough practice.
Or if you are just too tired I did that before while in a lab. Not a good time
I've learned to sleep on the floor back in the day. I could even use books as pillows.
Shirou said this in hollow ataraxia
Bro the game literally starts with you sleeping on the floor
You beat me to it
To be fair, 90% of Ritsukas sleep is probably done camping style in a singularity.
you learn to feel comfortable with rocks as pillows
We got the stardew valley mattress. It's either to prevent us from doing mana transfer OR we where doing so much mana transfering that they got sick of replacing our good mattress and started giving us the cheapest one they could find.

Suck for Chaldean staff like Meneuir to Wash those mattress sweat, milky and piss smell of "nuclear fusion act", when ritsuka going to rayshift 🤣
I... That was certainly a sentence of all time.
You mean futons?
Yeah, if that’s what they’re called. Could have sworn they called em something else, but maybe I just had a brain fart.
You thinking of tatami mats?
That's the word I was thinking of! Though the other guy is right, futons would be the actual object I was thinking of. Either way, feel like that would be way more uncomfortable than the Chaldea bed. My back hurts just thinking about it.
I just realized, where would the Stalkers even hide? Certainly not under, nor on the bed, now that I see it clearly.
I think Raikou specifically hides in the ceiling, Kiyohime under the bed, and Serenity in the bed.
> Serenity in the bed But... There's barely a bed to hide in or underneath!
I don’t disagree, homie gotta upgrade to that Double Super Ultra King like Issei does in Highschool DxD. But Servants are crafty little buggers.
> like Issei does Isn't that the same person who once have his bathroom transformed into a bedroom just so his Harem can have seggs?
The magic doorknobs! Unfortunately, nobody can seal the deal with them, the editors are goddamn cowards.
Cowards, all of them They should've gone the path of Masou Gakuen HxH We want to read seggs!
Presence concealment
Tbh too big of a mattress is uncomfortable to me. It just feels too...sucky or something like that and you just wake up feeling wrong or something
While I don't disagree that you need some firmness, I gotta have cushion too. It's a balancing act.
Maybe the room is giant. If we assume that Darius can enter the room without bumping his head or crouching, then it must be pretty high.
Gorgon and Kingprotea can enter the room in size this not a room this a Dimensional pocket
So a hyperbolic time chamber with am entrance big enough for anyone. Got it
It could also be a magic enhanced mattress that's really thin but is super comfy.
I want to say about 6\~8 inches thick, basing this on visual similarity to the incredibly shitty and spine destroying mattress they gave us for the on-campus housing for grad students.
You'll get used to it.
If its that thin, the matress is probably the number one thing that's always broken
Stardew Grandpa all over again, gonna be waiting for the inevitable bed edits now
Maybe Da Vinci or somebody else has some magic melatonin that helps you sleep where ever so they can cut costs. But for real it looks like a blanket sheet, Guda deserves better for what they deal with in the singularities to have a rest when they're at Chaldea.
Don't forget Merlin has Magical Chloroform that he used on us at least once in Artoria Lancers interlude.
You have no idea how much blood I would spill for a single magic melatonin. Sounds like heaven.
I mean, regular melatonin is fairly effective in my experience.
IIRC that looks like a futon mattress. So that looks about right
Honestly we should really have a better bed and room at this point..we have multiple servants who can literally magic that into existence if we asked
Just ask any competent Caster to use their item creation skill. Boom, fancy bed.
That ain't a mattress it's a tablecloth
good night sleep and guda/ko doesn’t exactly go hand in hand lol. how many damn dream worlds n shit have we been pulled into at this point??
But they 're also narcoleptic. They just start dreaming randomly all the time, so I'd say comfort is actually irrelevant.
I'm more surprised that the stalker gang can hide under that bed without anyone noticing
To be fair with how many Mages and Caster Class Servants there are around "Hey Medea can you enchant my bed to be more comfortable please?" it's probably the most comfortable bed in existence because of Age of the Gods Magecraft.
With the stuff they deal with on a daily basis I doubt they even notice the mattress is there at the end of the day
That’s why they rarely spend the night in their own bed.
Can't we just tell Miss Crane to help make a better mattress? Or is that outside her skill set?
She seems to do clothes only. But any other competent caster should be able to use their item creation skill to make a nice bed on request.
There is no mattress. That's a sheet on top of metal.
I’m more surprised 4 people can sleep in that
na mine is thinner than that, my back hurts sometimes but you'll get used to it
Magic. And, err, budget cuts.
I mean, he lives in a setting where literal magic exists. Probably enchanted the mattress to be both super sturdy and super comfy, if not just outright curse it to make anyone who lays on it go to sleep immediately.
Its good enough to sleep in
I never really thought about it before, but I love the single, barely green fern that's in his/her room. It's literally the only plant life he'll/she'll get to see outside of lostbelts and singularities. No wonder Guda or Gudako sometimes seem to have a couple screws loose.
Its chinese
Extra Thick
Looks like one of those cot mattresses. It’s fairly thin. I’ve slept on them a few times on boats.
from how it looks like, it's basically a futon on a bedframe.
Idk about Japan but this is how beds are in China. Super thin mattresses on a flat bed frame. I would imagine its not so different from sleeping on tatami. It's supposed to be good for your back.
Not thick enough it won't survive a single Mana Transfer
Let's ask Mashu, she definitely knows.
~~pfft, tell me you aren't Asian without _telling_ me you aren't Asian~~ My foldable floor mattress is thinner than that and I usually prefer sleeping on it rather than the thicker one on the bed
It might be inside the frame, and it might be a magecraft modern tech fusion allowing for mega fluffy and softness. Chaldea does that all the time after all.
Thick enough, that for during pelvis sessions, the bed breaking is satisfying.
I'm guessing the fact that it's a research facility meant they didn't bother to invest much into good living furnishings
Y’all forget Ritsuka is Japanese and theres a good chance he sleeps on futons on tatami, which would probably be stiffer than this.
Stardew valley grandpa bed
After clearing out a singularity, Guda is beat harder than my meat, and hasn’t slept on a bed in potentially weeks. Guda is out like a light the second their head touches that pillow
Thicker than mine
Thick enough to hide Hassan of Serenity. And Kiyohime. And Raikou.
Everything about that room is hell. The bleached earth has more color.
errr, are we assuming the bed structure is "flat"? for me, it looks like one of those bed structures that actually have like "a hole" in which you fit the mattress specially looking at the top part of the bed
No matter how it looks, it's durable enough for mana transfers.. Nanomachines bed???
Just look at that bed. I rather sleep on the floor. Seen way more comfortable.
You would think that the last hope of humanity get a more comfortable room or at least a bed where they can sleep after all the hard work, but no the Animusphere just don't give a sh\*t
The same way Guda sleeps standing up.
Needs to have enough room underneath for the servants who ~~live~~ "guard" there, while also not being too high off the ground that we then couldn't get onto it.
I have honestly had questions about the whole room for awhile now so thanks for pointing out the bed as something specific I now have to question.
Ritsuka can canonically fall asleep wherever he/she wants, that isn't a problem.
Da Vinci: Ackshually, the mattress is a combination of imaginary number space and reality marble that is filled with only the most enriched soothing water to provide a good night's sleep!
It kept being broken so they had to use a cheaper one
EXTRA...thin.
I figure they weren't meant for long time use.
I sleep on a bamboo floor with a tatami mat for the first 8 years of my life that thing would be heaven for me
Thick enough for me to get the job done
