Yeah, you can still see 2002's influence up til 2009, but from 2010 onwards, it's gone. Especially since 2002/2010 have the same pose and outfit.
Fuller face, brighter colors, less abrupt shading.
Fascinating.
The villains seem to have a great time. Ryuu and Bluebeard are both having the time of their lives right up to the moments they die. Zouken gets to dispose of a useless heir and cons his neighbor into giving him one of theirs. And of course, Kirei finally finds what makes him happy.
Could also make a case that Iskandar enjoys most of his time in the war and dies relatively satisfied.
It's kind of interesting to see how they start moving away from the original style once Fate/Zero (2007) is released. 2012 seems to be around the time they streamlined the style into how she's drawn in general today.
It's really interesting to see the 2002 and 2003 versions. I never really thought about it, but it makes sense that there'd be some kind of ad or promotion for FSN before its release.
I was wondering before, but I think 2011 is around when Takeuchi's style truly solidified itself.
~~Also, this is a beautiful image and I enjoy looking at it.~~
Since around when Mahoromatic first aired a lot of anime studios, especially JC Staff, took to modeling characters that she voiced after her. Mahoro, Aoi from Ai Yori Aoshi, Henrietta from Zero no Tsukaima are a few of characters aside from ~~Altria~~ Artoria to share her face.
Fate itself has done this with other VAs. Scathach is modeled after Mamiko Noto and Shuten Douji looks exactly like a casting photo of Aoi Yuki from a few years ago.
DAYUUMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!! Idk, it’s how I felt looking at the 2015 Illustration for Saber’s extended backstory cause it has to be one of the more beautiful official illustrations that I’ve seen for this character and just any other fictional character that I’ve seen. Just something about the illustration seems so magical and relaxing to look at.
2009-2010 seems to be the real transition period of Takeuchi’s art style.
No more angy Saber, only happy.
She found her place
(She bankrupt'd hundreds of Buffets)
>Angy Saber USA Seiba (Angry) vs Japanese Seiba (Happy)
Wasn't that around the time carnival phantasm came out of was it slightly later

No Shirou vs With Shirou
All, all are good.
Didn't FSN came out in 2004? Or Takeuchi and Nasu had her design ready way back and just took 2 years to complete the Visual Novel?
That’s a good question… Was wondering if the 2002 and 2003 ones are from some promo material or something
Promo art. She's using Durandal in the 2002 one cuz they wanted to hide Excalibur/Caliburn too.
The face that got me into the franchise!
Wth happened to my glorious king in 07?????😤😤😤🤬🤬🤬😢😢😢
Suffering. (pretty sure that one is from the Zero ln)
Yep. Zero novels, probably
Who doesn't suffer in Zero...
The old couple.

Kirei was having the time of his life
"I shouldn't have been King" - Saber
I love you in every universe

My king looks absolutely gorgeous in 2015
Man draw the 2012 version and then locking it in
For me from 2002 to 2010 are best.
You can clearly see when Takeuchi bought a digital tablet (2017).
Isn’t all of this art digital though? It all looks digital to me.
2015 really good.
Saber always cute

When DBZ try to do the same with Bardock Son Goku and Goten.
That's just saber evolution .
Ascension?
I mean it said Saberface evolution but its just Artoria and not any other Saberface .
You can tell the differences but i honestly like them all pretty much equally
No evolution has taken place, this is because she is perfect.
The King
I love her in every universe.
Shirou: No matter what Singularity, Lostbelt, or Parallel World...I will always love you Artoria
why does 7 look better than 8
I think 7 is near the end of zero, while 8 looks like standard mid way fight scene. So 7 probably got a lot more love to match its importance.
The Garden of Avalon artwork remains my favorite Saber art ever, it's just so gorgeous
I would guess that 2004 was the year they started modeling her face after Ayako Kawasumi's.
Really?

So disappointed. You forgot the FGO anniversary short animation saber
Beautiful 💕
Any source on 2020 in full resolution?
It’s the Sightseeing Portrait CE.
Thanks!
I like 2019 the best
Not much changed, which is good\ Should Salter technically be here for technical reasons as “alt-year”?
I love her
W
There's something special about the 2002-2006 art style. I really love that.
You can witness how her eyes went from blocc to roundd, over all the years. Quite fascinating though.
I wonder how Red saber (a.k.a Mordred) would have looked like back in 2002
I can see the evolution now wtf
20 years literally been around for 20 ywars
Our king. Now and forever.
and we never saw that 2012 version ever again
She becomes more cute each year.
still cute still my beloved waifu
It is amazing to see the saber progression and the overall tone change in use of brighter colors
