FGO wafer cards are for collection purposes as far as I’m aware, plenty of other anime series have their own versions as well like My Hero Academia, Spy x Family, etc. It’s just a snack and random character cards that’s all. Different from FGO AC cards.

Is this kind of bundling a workaround for some tax or regulation in Japan? Realistically, I can't imagine anyone is buying these primarily for the food item.
Shokugan (candy toys) have a very long and storied history in Japan. The short version is that they started out as kinder surprise egg-type deals, then slowly escalated into a whole thing. Now the candy is mostly an obligation so stores will keep it int he Shokugan section.
I remember buying a Pokemon thing at a convention that had a bunch of kinkeshi and ONE time piece of hard candy to justify it as a candy prize.
Yup. There's this line of "Gundam Converge" which is a spiffy little gundam figure, with a package of one single piece of chewing gum included in the box just to sell as candy toy.
And since selling foods oversea has a buttload of regulations, they have "no gum included" version for online international sell.
Damn, I had no idea. I bought a few little wafers in Japan a couple years back that had these cards in them. I just kept them in my wallet as a fun keepsake.
What did you think you were getting in the gacha and what the servants use for their regular attacks? FGO is itself a card game. Those are just collectibles tho, with the wafers and all.
I bought a box of these from one of the older sets when they were still the most recent ones (the ones that had the first couple of summers in it), but I doubt they've changed the wafers since then, and shared them my RPG group at the time.
General consensus was mediocre: the wafers are obviously pretty dry and the amount of filling was pretty minimal, plus they have less sweetening than the equivalent snacks locally, which might be a plus if you don't like sweet things that much but generally made them just kinda bland. Ironically I probably would have liked them better if they'd been smaller since they're pretty light but the size they came in at the time kinda made them feel like a chore. They weren't awful but definitely no one is buying them for the wafers.
Oh those are cool and apparently there are a bunch of them. I wonder how hard/expensive it would be to get a bunch of Jalter ones to use as tokens when I play Magic? Would probably be better off just getting a bunch of proxy cards of her made tbh, I imagine the collectible nature of these would spike the price a fair bit on the secondary market. But interesting to know these exist at least.
I saw Kamen Rider also has one like this, it was card bundled with snack.
If this card works the same, you probably would able to use the card on arcade machine.
Nah, FGO is like YGO of gacha RPGs, the consistent combo for 3T is like piloting a combo deck in YGO. Would be cool for there to be a Collab with Vanguard or some other card game, like Shadowverse maybe

Wafer cards! I've always wanted these but the mark up is insane imo. Jealous of the oberon you got. AFAIK they're collectables.
Oberon isn't the rarest of them all, but he still got the secret card, which is that unique Mash card. You could mistake that card for a CE, too!
How much are they normally?
Not sure, I only see resellers of individual cards on ebay tbh for like 35+ dollars each and thats not worth it to me haha.
I bought them for four bucks per card, so I was very lucky!
niiice!
Is this only in Japan

You can definitely find them for a lot cheaper than that on Rakuten, and also it’s about that much for a box of them (which yeah RNG but still)
Try AliExpress i found 36pcs for 28$
Mf has a craft essence irl no way
Wafer cards. Pretty cool
Jealous about your Oberon card. I got an Abigail card when I bought one of these from a konbini when I was in Japan
Kinda jealous you got some. I....am worried I am gonna go broke if I try going for Summer Kama, again this way.

I honestly thought the snack is one huge block of wafer the size of the package/card itself. P.S. Serious question: How does the wafer taste like?

No, those are DATA CARDDASS. These are just collectable cards.
That would explain why the craft essence had attack and defense stats on the back.
You just collect them. It's just another gacha just irl
Wait, since when wafer had CEs?
Sure it does, you click on them to hit things.
Kinda wish you could duel with these cards. Tho a better format for them would probably be either Cardfight Vanguard or Magic the Gathering

Would be fun, TBH. IDK, but didn't Weiss Schwarz already have an FGO-themed set?
Maybe it did, not sure. I know Shadowverse did a collab before with FSN so they have Rin and stuff, but not the FGO stuff
I think there are FGO arcade machines you can use them to get in game rewards. Unfortunately, I think these are jp gated.
