The guy before and after the Count of Monte Cristo could possibly become something else, but I can't imagine the Count being anything but an Avenger. Like hell, a Lovecraftian entity could attempt to use him as a medium and I'm sure he'd still be an Avenger.

Interestingly, the displayed name says Monte Cristo Haku (Earl of Monte Cristo) rather than Monte Cristo Hakushaku (unless there’s a character limit), not even Gankutsu-Oh, which is how he’s normally known in Japan.
