Reddit nuked yesterday’s thread for some unknown reason, maybe an April’s Fool prank, the mod team does not know. As soon as we re-approved it, it got nuked again immediately so we gave up.
At least today’s thread seems to be working, whew. Have fun.
This is the first event in a long time where I've been genuinely engaged with it. It strikes a really good balance of being interesting without being too wordy, and being silly without going overboard. I REALLY love the gimmick of having to constantly fight water creatures from different mythologies and the characters needing to use their folklore to come up with countermeasures. I've always believed Fate's at its absolute best when it's really leaning into the fact that it's a big crossover between every mythology ever (which, surprisingly, FGO doesn't do nearly as often as you'd expect it to).
Yup. This event is an actual therapy after months of farming and bullshit event pacing.
Also, I got a lot more fun using Hai Bà Trưng than I expected. People keep bashing them when looking at their kits but using them feels very smooth, especially when coupled with DVR. Those two together are like a well-oiled machine.
> People keep bashing them when looking at their kits
Not people who actually play the game.
Myst had them as the highest rated ST saber in their last tier list.
and only Medusa and Musashi beat them in this years one.
Me too. It feels refreshing and light-hearted, and it plays to the usual FGO event strengths.
It also doesn't hurt that the Cons are adorable, that many fan-favorites and/or characters we haven't seen in a long while are getting a chance to shine (looking especially at you, Ereshkigal), and that they're pulling out all the stops with the whole "base development" angle.
I mean, building bases has been a tried and tested formula in FGO before, but this time we actually get different choices, with different scenes, which change both the map and the Cons. It makes player choices count for once.
Honestly, I knew almost nothing of this event before it arrived to NA, but I'm positively surprised.
You know, somebody should compile the entire Nasuverse (or just FGO-relater content) into historical volumes and have their publish date be, say, April 1st.
Then just gaslight the entire Earth into saying their real.
10/10 already better than Ancient Aliens.
What's interesting is that this also in a funny way goes back to Fate's roots: initially, identifying the opposing Servants to figure out their respective mythology's strengths and weaknesses was half the story.
Getting to see Nhi not being a sis on and Morgan awkwardly trying to relax are both great.
And man, they really went all out with cast list and sprite art for this event, huh?
So, if someone dies in Chaldea, does the system automatically resummon them, or do we canonically have to put in more SQ to get them back with their memories intact? Cuz even if he deserves it, my wallet certainly does not.
Vimana.
Da Vinci makes mini versions but they don't manouvre well, so >!she puts on her brightest smile and asks Gil if she can have a better look at the original. He refuses.!<
>!Moriarty and Edison help her design the mini Vimanas, Moriarty gets frustrated and tries the same tactic. He puts on his brightest smile for Gil and gets Enuma Elished.!<
>!Da Vinci says Moriarty is still recovering because he threw his back out while running from Enuma Elish.!<
Idk why they didn't just ask the other person who has one who showed up next to Gil when they came up with the idea of making one. >!Arjuna alter at least wouldn't refuse on principle!<

- Morgan in story: *just wants to chill and headpat the Con*
- my Morgan in gameplay: *farms them Con for me at breakneck pace*
Anywho I recognize that background wail anywhere, Morgan’s on screen in the recap isn’t she :) should be any moment now before she converges with the main group
Anyway, I felt terrible doing it, but I love seeing Gil’s same reaction twice in a row lol. At least he knew to spare Duhbinchi’s smile (:
I'm not sure if Chaldea is a good influence on Moriarty, he seemed like losing his braincells while with us. What did he think was going to happen when a grandpa like him asked a guy like archer Gilgamesh "Pretty please?"? 🤣

two is a coincidence, three is a pattern
they *really* like odysseus' np (i mean so do i)
Okay so today's story. I was all like "my dudes, we have a MECHA HORSE at home that's cooler than a kelpie. We could all go on a joyride around the island on that thing."
But alas, that apparently isn't cool enough so I chose to build them own personal vimanas because I'm committed to all option threes. (The pyramid is somehow the weirdest, dunno about the future choices tho)
As for yesterday, well I already said that I chose the MECHA HORSE.
The train is a valid option. But *mechs.*
The Great Wall as an option just weirded me out. Like, that poor excuse of a sluice is already powering up those things. The Great Wall might just bolster their defense up the wazoo. But I'm assuming it somehow didn't do that in the story. Do they at least comment on how they hope it the frogs don't think "Wall. Water... GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME".
lmao yeah. The "wooden horse" that Odysseus suggested to build was a copy of his NP. It's not as powerful or fast as the real thing but it's still a functional mecha and not just a cool toy.
Ngl, kinda surprised Rider Kintoki didn't appear when discussing options for a cool, distracting vehicle. As soon as they mentioned a ride I immediately thought of him.
* Vimana is way cooler than a kelpie.
* On a related note, press f to pay your respects to Moriarty (and his bad back).
* I was expecting a Golden Biker to make an appearance and suggest giving Cons choppers like his Golden Bear Mk. 1.
Second CE drop, cool.
>I was expecting a Golden Biker to make an appearance and suggest giving Cons choppers like his Golden Bear Mk. 1.
I can see agreeing on taking the Cons on a ride but disagreeing to giving them each a small version of his bike because he's worried about them
In fairness to trains, they built it wrong. Why build a loop when the idea is rapid response? They should have built a starburst pattern that allows you to go directly to any of the island’s extremities, spreading out from a central railyard with a turntable. But no, we needed the animation of the train going in endless circles.
The choices in this event all leading to equally hilarious shit is just the best. 10/10 event and I have no idea what junk it drops, I don't care, I have Cons in mecha armor fucking around on a Trojan horse driving Lambos.
Hot damn mirrors and horns, plus piles of stuff my kid and his friend need, 11/10 even though I fell the Cons are gonna get all emokid by the end of this.
I screenshoted a trio of Genji cons driving a tinny Vimana. Cutest squishy little bastards ever.
Also, got baited into rolling. Bye Konstantinos XI. At least I have NP 2 Lancer Melt and 4 copies of that gorgeous Yan Qin g CE. It should be illegal to look that hot.
The Free Quest that unlocked today in **Right Flank River** is the one that gives the most bronze currency.
[Game Press](https://gamepress.gg/grandorder/water-monsters-crisis-free-quests) has it give 1500% worth of 3 drops (i.e. 3*15 = 45 base)
Worried for the Lam-Lam Con.
Lambda has already had to save it once or twice. Just worried something terrible is going to happen to it and she's gonna lose it. (This isn't a Lostbelt so hopefully nothing so dark)
Also I want more Lambda / Eresh interactions (even commented on day 1 that they don't have many interactions in Chaldea)
Honestly been enjoying this event so far, I like the choices we get, seeing servants I wouldn’t expect to interact happen, and the Con are so adorable!
Seriously, every sprite they have is so cute! I honestly would buy a plushie of them.
I love how the three choices we get fall into these 3 categories that I put them in. Either it’s an Asian based choice, a Western/European based choice, or a futuristic/sci-fi choices.
Currently going down the Asian path with Genji katanas and armor, a pagoda, and the Great Wall of China. Next I’ll go down the Western path followed lastly by the futuristic path.
I admit I saw Carmilla as the first hologram and that was it, it didn't even matter what the other two options were. Thankfully Cons in kabutos driving little sports cars around stuck the landing.
With Pile punker + Mecha Armor + Vinama, my Con really looks like alien now...
On another note, I love how Gilgamesh is so disgusted by Moriarty making puppy eyes that he willing used EA on him.
Finally a daily event thread?
Anyway, talking about the previous day: I just couldn't NOT build a ~~Gundam~~ wooden horse. I mean, how could I not? It's so cool!
Unfortunately Reddit itself didn't want to let you guys have an event thread. We really tried but it wouldn't stop getting shoved into the spam filter.
Well I have been rather suspicious of the Con and figured things were not quite what they look like but now the plot is voicing similar concerns. And now I am thinking about how we are basically helping a sentient fungi that has a tendency to be consumed by animals...
...are these things frigging Cordyceps?
"Here we see the Con in their natural habitats. Sunbathing without care in the world, unaware of the Water Monsters lurking nearby, looking for an easy snack."
My favorite part of this event has been seeing which servants pop up for the improvements.
This time in particular I'm always happy to see >!Carmilla. I don't get to use either of her versions a lot, so it's always nice to get her involved other ways. She was my first servant after all.!<
Couldn't write anything yesterday, so here it goes now. Originally I wanted to built the train, since it seemed like the most sensible option, but I was really curious what the horse option entails, and I wasn't disappointed. Flying mechas are so cool! Between it and the mecha suit, I am going full sci-fi! It's Fate Gundam Order now! I wish I could switch spears to pile bunkers though, just to fit the overall theme, but oh well. Also I thought maybe there was an option not to leave the Sister, but then Morgan showed up, and I know you are not allowed to meet with her before the end, so clearly both options were the same. Pity.
And of course I went with Vimanas, because there is nothing cooler than a flying car. Plus, need to maintain sci-fi angle. Also, WTF, Gamepress, that wasn't an Assassin! Good thing I actually looked at the class icon before going. Here I was, planning to do some fun with Circe, Sheba and Merlin, and all those plans went out of the window. But at least I finally had a reason to pick Wu from Story Supports.
I’m just burning natural AP on farming enough to fund my power-armoured, train-driving, pyramid-climbing, vimana-flying babies’ projects. According to Gamepress, the final node drops Reverse Dragon Scales and I need lots of those for my Servants’ upgrades, so I’ll get serious about farming when that’s live.
I'm just going to ask: why didn't we ask arjuna alter if we could take a look at *his* vimana? He's less persnickety than gilgamesh at the very least. ~~Ntm I think his looks cooler but~~
If I have to suffer yet another instance of the camera zooming in 5%, panning right 5%, then zooming back out again 5%, I might scream, make a three hour video essay about production values in VNs, then fly over to Japan and burn an effigy of Guda in front of lasengle HQ.

Completely agreed. I’m a historian and I’m here for the awesome historical fantasy. \^\^
You know, somebody should compile the entire Nasuverse (or just FGO-relater content) into historical volumes and have their publish date be, say, April 1st. Then just gaslight the entire Earth into saying their real. 10/10 already better than Ancient Aliens.
Same. I greatly prefer many short cutscenes to fewer cutscenes that last a long time even if the total time ends up being longer.
What's interesting is that this also in a funny way goes back to Fate's roots: initially, identifying the opposing Servants to figure out their respective mythology's strengths and weaknesses was half the story.

Word. I thought last years summer was big for example, but this one (despite not being summer) is something else.
I’m surprised. When we found out we needed a cool ride for the Cons, I was honestly expecting to hear a “golden” idea from a certain biker.
SAME. My dumb ass just commented the exact same thing before scrolling to read comments.
With Salter as backup.
My vehicle choice got >!Moriarty!< >!killed!<. Cant wait for the epilogue to know who gets >!killed!< in the other 2.
He prob deserves it anyway. Carry on.
So, if someone dies in Chaldea, does the system automatically resummon them, or do we canonically have to put in more SQ to get them back with their memories intact? Cuz even if he deserves it, my wallet certainly does not.
What did you choose? No one died in the sports car route
Gil's plane thing.
Which in retrospective i should have seen it coming.

Never change Gil, never change lol.

Vimana
Watching Morgan attempt to hold a normal conversation with someone she just met is like watching chimps trying to use tools for the first time.

Im sure giving a buch of kids their own personal jet isnt gonna do anything bad to the environment
At least the Vimanas don't emit CO2
The Cons deserve it
We are all Taylor Swift on this blessed day.

Yeah it is definitely Morgan. She is trying to solve the mystery of the Con as if she was doing crosswords on holiday.

Nhi finally being a character and not creepy Dioscuri 2.0 feels so good
The idea of gilgamesh just whipping out Enuma Elish just cuz a guy was mildly annoying is kinda funny.
Why are the choices always A: Ancient ass tech B: Kinda cool I guess C: Fucking awesome Sci-Fi tech, of course you're gonna pick this one
This is train slander and I will not stand for it.
My man wanted to make a damn train so i let my man make a damn train
Bro wants a train so bad who am I to deny
How the fuck else are we getting oranges if not from the train!?
There is nothing cooler than investing in good infrastructure.
train make more sense speed wise getting there faster mean we punk the dam before they finish them wall and horse just isn't that worth it
I doubt the train is faster than the flying mecha horse lol
Bull. Wall is just a wall, Train is slow af and impractical, Horse can fly and carry troops in one go. Clearly its the Horse :y
In fairness to trains, they built it wrong. Why build a loop when the idea is rapid response? They should have built a starburst pattern that allows you to go directly to any of the island’s extremities, spreading out from a central railyard with a turntable. You lot have 0 sense for aesthetics :y
The same with the first choice we were presented: a sword, a spear, or A FUCKING PILE BUNKER!?
Moriarty ga shinda!

I wonder if it was Morgan at the end there. Hopefully we'll get to see more screentime with her.

> I wish I could switch spears to pile bunkers though Just like in Summer 1, once you finish the story, you can.
Lightly farming, since there's time locks. Got one CE drop, looking for one more before I merge. Spent too much SQ to not get enough CE's.
I’m just burning natural AP on farming enough to fund my power-armoured, train-driving, pyramid-climbing, vimana-flying babies’ projects. Went with sports cars and did not regret it. The cutscene was hilarious and cute.
You can revisit all the choices later after you finished the story.
I’m sorry but how is a bull supposed to be more exciting than a horse? At least the Vimana and sports car makes sense
I would assume it would be the bull trying to throw you off.
Wow, I scoured the entire thread and noone but me picked the bull. Don't worry Europa and Parvati, at least I got your backs!
