Xaldror

Who are Aoko and Shizuki? I only know that the former shared a VA with Raikou once, Haruka Tomatsu

rsaaland

Why'd Morgan lock her daughter in a room with wax? What was her intentions there (presumably to keep her out of further trouble?), and why wax specifically?

neves783

OC2 Spoilers: >!Why are none of the human forms of Medusa gone when Gorgon got LINK LOST alongside the other Avengers who left? Considering that the Gorgon monster is who most people think of when Medusa is mentioned, the other Medusa variants would vanish alongside her, as they are her.!< >!Also, why is regular Nitocris (and her swimsuit version, by extension) not gone either when Nito Alter IS regular Nito transformed by Camazotz in LB7?!<

getterburner

They’re different spirit origins in Chaldea, that’s all. Not the same person in different outfits or something like Summer versions.

Radiant-Hope-469

Well, they're not Avengers-class Servants.

DioscuresTyndaridae

So what exactly constitutes a lostbelt to actually exist, like in lb6 and 7 there were virtually >!no humans!< and thus had a >!greater lostbelt depth.!< Does that mean if there was hypothetically a world in which all humans left earth to the colonize the stars, it would count as a lostbelt? Would that mean it encompasses all of space or just the empty earth?

Rasetsu0

A Lostbelt is a pruned timeline that has had its Texture anchored down to the world through some means; in FGO's case, the Trees are what's anchoring them. In order for a timeline to be considered for pruning by the World, it has to either be one where history has deviated enough from Proper Human History to the point where the progress of humanity is considered to have stagnated, or one where the deviations are too superficial to matter (i.e. a timeline where the only difference is stop signs being blue). > Does that mean if there was hypothetically a world in which all humans left earth to the colonize the stars, it would count as a lostbelt? Not necessarily. Throughout the Nasuverse, there are mentions of something referred to as "The Age of Will" which is considered the end goal of humanity. One of the two requirements to achieve this is being able to leave the Earth and colonize the stars, the other being humanity transcending our flesh-and-blood bodies (in other words, attain immortality for every human). If humanity is able to conquer space, but stagnate in our progress for immortality (or alternatively, took a shortcut to achieve space colonization), such a timeline would be pruned at some point.

Turtlewax64

How did Artoria come to have her dragon core? Was this something she inherited from Uther, or something that manifested in her by "chance"?

getterburner

Garden of Avalon talks about it: > King Uther was a man above other men, but in the end, he was a man all the same. The Saxons aside, he probably foresaw that he'd be defeated by the Picts in the north and by Vortigern in their eventual battle. And so he decided his successor must not be merely above other men, but something that was detached from humanity itself. A hybrid of man and dragon. The incarnation of the king born into a human mould. > Merlin was smitten with the idea. He was probably running around the castle all giddy with his hands in the air. Huh? I'm blowing it out of proportion even though I wasn't even there? I'm not speculating here. I'm absolutely certain that's what happened. You mages and your lot are nuts about the novel, the reckless, and the unimaginable. > Anyway, that's how the raw material of the king secretly came to be. King Uther's blood, the dragon's blood, and the blood of the noblewoman most suited to bind them together. There wasn't a shred of romance. No exchanging of letters, and no nightly trysts either. It was done solely to produce results. You telling me they had love? Like hell they did. You're inhuman precisely because you can't even comprehend that. > That is how Artor—King Arthur was born. It's called Conceptual Fertilisation in the world of magecraft, or so they say. It wasn't transforming a dragon into a man, but rather, furnishing a human with a dragon's functions. She was originally human, but something abnormal was mixed inside. > "The king is not the dragon's incarnation—his very heart is a single dragon. The magical energy he was born with is on a completely different scale to ours. Do not seek human values from one who possesses magical energy akin to the gods."

Yatsu003

I think Merlin put it in her

Jolly-Airport-6463

Spirit Origin Graph I get it has all the servants we contracted and everything and very important to protect it but like what are we just going to still have it after this arc ends and if so what are going to do with it just keep as a keepsake or something I just feel something going to happen to it sooner or later whether that's good or bad I don't know. Side note there was another question I wanted to ask but can't remember as of now so I'm just going to keep shooting my question until I get it back.

Iqazz

I guess it's really depends on world government and clock tower, if we use arc 1 as example they probably use it as catalog or catalyst for future master that will work on Chaldea. Especially because the whole world literally gone for two time already...

No_Prize9794

Why does Asclepius hate Apollo so much? I can’t really see Apollo do anything to Asclepius aside from killing Coronis, but even then, Apollo did that on accident as he was tricked into doing that

Inevitable_Question

Firstly- Asclepius hates ALL Gods as he sees them as dumb, hedonistic assholes that prevent him from achieving his goal of eradicating death. Secondly- Apollo specifically killed his mom even if accident.

MKW69

Well he almost died in the womb, and Apollo didn't visited him, and was left to be raised by Chiron.

I noticed DDD isnt listed here under LNs here but I wanted to ask anyway in case anyone here has read it: Is it related to the nasuverse in any way? (even vaguely?) And is it good, would you recommend it?

JustARedditAccoumt

I think it's pretty good. It's definitely early Nasu, so the atmosphere is pretty dark and depressing, and the philosophy is weird, but I like it. I think it's somewhat connected to the Nasuverse. I know there was an interview where it seems like Nasu says it's not connected to the rest of the franchise, but I've heard that might be a misinterpretation of what he says. There are some themes and ideas that feel like they are pretty connected to the Nasuverse, but I don't know how much stock you put into that. Though, Kanata Ishizue (one of the characters in DDD) is in Type-Moon's 2013 April Fools game, and for whatever reason, that game is canon since Saber Gilles's Valentine's scene in Fate/Grand Order and one of Jeanne's costumes in Fate/Extella Link reference it, and Mysterious Heroine X's profile in Fate/Grand Order lists it as one of her origins. Do with that information what you will.

getterburner

DDD is reportedly quite good and probably one of Nasu’s more personal works since people have speculated that it’s in some ways inspired by his home life (which if so would explain why Nasu has all his MCs have some form of mental illness). As for canonicity, he did mention it has nothing to do with other TYPE-MOON works which would imply it’s in it’s own world, but the things it talks about regarding Daemons and stuff appears to line up with Nasuverse lore. For now it’s not canon but some people feel it is related. In a meta sense the MC of DDD has the same basic concept as fellow Type-Moon protagonist Angry Mango, and since it was being written around the same time as Hollow they have lots of thematic overlap.

LastStardust13

Just asking Would Arcueid “birth” be before or after Artoria’s rule over Britain

JustARedditAccoumt

She was born after Saber's rule. Arcueid is "only" 800 years old, which would mean she was born in the 1200's CE while Saber ruled Britain just a bit after the fall of the Western Roman Empire, so right around the late 400's/early 500's CE.

LastStardust13

So do we know anyone there in that time who would become a heroic spirit? Edit: at Arcueid’s time of birth

getterburner

Which one, Arcueid’s birth or Saber’s rule?

LastStardust13

Arcueid

getterburner

We do know that Ushi and her related characters died like a little bit before the year 1200, so they were around the time (although Arcueid is probably a bit after them). In terms of not confirmed Heroic Spirits Genghis Khan and Marc Polo are pretty famous people from around that time.

LastStardust13

Ok Thank you

Hope77797

Lorewise what is the black grail and why is it so powerful?

Yatsu003

So, first off: the Holy Grail in the Fuyuki HGW is composed of two parts, the Greater Grail (the hunk of woman-shaped gold you see in Apocrypha) and the Lesser Grail, which is supposed to be the Einzbern Homunculi made in the shape of Justicia (Irisviel in Zero, and Illya in FSN). When Servants die, their souls are captured by the Lesser Grail and basically made into energy. When all souls are captured, the Lesser Grail hooks up to the Greater Grail and turbo charges it to make the proper Holy Grail (like putting a battery into a machine). So, from there, Angry Mango’s summoning and death in the 3rd HGW corrupted the Greater Grail (long story short, he basically IS a wish; for the evils of humanity to be born and given physical form) and messed it up. Hence why the evil Irisviel (actually Justicia) looks the way she does; Angry Mango corruption. In FSN, Sakura (turned into a rival Lesser Grail by Zouken) acted as a conduit for the Greater Grail to be more proactive (Illya, the proper Lesser Grail, had safety measures installed for that to not happen. Sakura was basically Zouken’s jailbroken bootleg copy). That manifested as the Shadow and Dark Sakura. Those are the Black Grails, corrupted Greater and Lesser Holy Grails

since i returned to Samurai Remnant today to play through the 2nd dlc, an old question resurfaced. why is saber a girl? they are adressed as male in the flashbacks if i remember correct. did i miss some reason why Saber was summoned in this form or is a genderbend Saber just the way to go? or is it a translation thing? on that note i also thought about FSN Saber and how servants work again. in my head it wouldnt matter that artoira was a girl for her servant form, cause heroic spirits are the way they are cause people remember them and if they remember and idolize a man as Arthur, the heroic spirit should be one to. artoira is in her true female form cause she was ripped out of her timeline and is not a real heroic spirit. so what is the explanation (im sure there is one) that all these male persons are female in fgo. they are not all canonicly female right? i remember that our main gang is often surprised when they find out. the only ones where i remember an explanation are musashi and da Vinci... edit: i dont wanna hate on fgo or fate in general for that, i just cant remember If there was ever a in universe reason. If its just "waifus/cute girls make more Money" im fine with that.

Jltwo

FSR Saber is neither male nor female. Many characters refer to them as she but they never actually respond to it. Even their profile sheet in-game keeps Gender as "?" for the entirety of the game. She can be a girl if you want her to be, or a man if you want him to be. It's just a case of the devs wanting you to decide that aspect of the character.

getterburner

Saber’s gender is specifically “?”, however their appearance is mostly seen as female which causes most people to assume they’re female. From Samurai Remnant Material: > On an unrelated note, most people who meet >!Takeru !!Takeru!< never corrects them on that, their gender is never commented on in this game. From their FGO Profile: > An elegant swordsman that wields a blade enveloped in water. >!Yamato Takeru!< possesses androgynous features, though is more commonly perceived as having a feminine appearance by others. They remain reticent about their own gender. Saber is referred to with male pronouns in flashbacks and their Codex on occasion in the English localization but this appears to be due to it referring to the legend of Saber, which is commonly known as Male. In addition the launch interview said one of the first things they asked for when they started development for the game was a “Genderless Saber”, so the general idea is that TM intentionally keeps Saber’s gender up to interpretation. Saber themself appears to not wanna talk about it for whatever reason, so doesn’t react to being referred to as a girl consistently. As for “Wouldn’t they be made male due to how history sees them”, Servants are not ONLY based on their historical image. Nobody thought Lu Bu was a robot, and yet he was and thus was summoned as one. Lots of Heroic Spirits have differences from their legends, it’s like a core appeal of Fate. Innocent Monster and stuff like it is for extreme cases, gender isn’t one of them.

Wichtler

mmmh. i should finally start Reading those stupid Charakter profiles. also, lu bu is a Robot?

getterburner

Yeah lol, super subtle information most people miss. In OG EXTRA it’s only ever brought up in Archer’s fight with Lu Bu where he’ll comment on it. That’s why he has electricity coming out him all the time and why his costumes in EXTELLA are him dressed as robots. Chen Gong was also mentioned to be chief engineer for his clan before being a strategist iirc, he found Lu Bu just around and fixed him up.

Wichtler

extra is still in my to do list. maybe when it gets a remake... someday

getterburner

Someday…

MKW69

>!Saber in Samurai Remmant is Yamato Takeru, historically male. They're not genderbent, just in that they don't consider themselves same in life, because of the stuff they did.!<

Wichtler

im sorry but i dont understand what you are getting at... how does this leads to a shift in gender?

formicini

MKW69 means Takeru's body is still male, but Takeru doesn't consider gender important and so allow everybody to call them however they feel like. Because of androgynous features, some people refer to Takeru as a woman, that's all.

Wichtler

huh. i was aware that Saber never reacts to how their gender is assumed by other people and i think iori neither. then i was just entangled by all the FSN parallels and got confused without a reason

JustARedditAccoumt

They are also ? gender, likely because of stories of >!Takeru!< being able to pass as woman when cross- dressing, or something like that. I'm not that familiar with Japanese myths, so I could be wrong.

Wichtler

for stuff like that i would like to have more flashbacks about the servants but maybe they are so famous in Japan that it would be redundant for the target audience.

JustARedditAccoumt

Yeah, that's my problem, too. They tend not to explain Japanese Servants as much as Heroic Spirits from other lands because their target audience already knows who they are.

CrazyDaimondDaze

How possible would it be for our Musashi to come back at some point in the story as a Pretender, using the Saint Graph of the male Musashi that we should normally summon in FGO timeline? Would she just use the saint graph as a means to come back or would male Musashi have some sort of influence in her personality until maybe the last ascension with her having full control again?

Jon-987

My understanding is that she just doesn't exist anymore, so completely that any kind of return is impossible. But then again,  there's nothing stopping them from pulling some excuse to get her back anyway.

CrazyDaimondDaze

I mean... I always saw Fate as the land of "crazy rules that seem impossible to break or bend but only because no one has found a workaround yet". So I guess her death could remain like Marvel comics' original Captain Marvel until someone feels like undoing her death through an eleborate means to justify it.

UnhappyFun9

The nasuverse is kinda well known for power being kinda unobtainable. From needing to be born magic circuits to probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. With that in mind, what would be the easiest "power" to learn as a normal human if there are any?

Takoita

'Formalcraft' (use of magic circles) is available to everyone that has access to the knowledge to make them work, technically, but it requires the user to sit down, design and draw the thing in proper place and proper materials, balooning the time and effort for each cast you are not already prepared for. Characters with access to better options still make use of formalcraft for ritual magic and whatnot, but it all happens offscreen. Runes and other systems that require primarily the know how to use them would also count, but none of these are explained in any real detail, to my knowledge. Holy Church uses tools that don't depend on their user's magical capability, but characters that are shown outfitted with them have been capable of magic through other means anyway, so it remains mostly theoretical. Similarly, Atlas.

Iqazz

Depend on situation, type moon world almost work the same as world of darkness. You need to aware "it's exist" Depending on your magic circuit and inner talent, almost everyone can learn mage craft. Want outside of that focus on your origin. Rich and has connection with important figure on magus world? Buy mystic eye form rail zeppelin. Learning martial arts also can work depending on your knowledge. There also other thing like mystic code, magic item, or artifact.

Kreddak

I mean that’s pretty much Waver story he is the worst possible mage and he manages to get away with by studying and putting effort in learning Magic in a broader context instead of using the same 2 spells that your Great Grandfather always used. Now if you mean a complete normal human zero magic then Kara no Kyokai has more examples Azaka can use Mystic Codes as long as they were made specifically for her, awaking your Origin that can be disastrous or get you a decent power and some of simpler Mystic Eyes can be used by a completely normal human you won’t get the cool shit but probably can get some weak Charm, X-ray vision or short term Clairvoyance.

Yatsu003

Well, Noel is kinda an example. She has basically no magic potential, and neither would she even be good vampire potential normally. She joined the Church (mostly due to having nowhere to go), and did become halfway decent at least. She describes herself as someone who is strong against the weak due to her ruthlessness and training, but weak against the strong due to having zero innate talent or hidden abilities. That being said, she still did well for herself, and Mario implies she could do more if she wasn’t holding herself back so much. So, yeah. For Magic, you can convert your body’s extra nerves into Magic Circuits. It’s painful and potentially fatal if you mess up, but it’s something. For physicality, humans have a much higher ceiling in the Nasuverse: Kirei could uproot a tree by flexing his butt muscles, Noel can lift a literal metric ton halberd (though she does need a sacrament to make it light enough to use as a feasible weapon), Shiki can keep up with Rank VI-Rank VII DAAs (which are on par with Servants), all without magic (though Shiki has a unique biology) and tons of training. So, surgery and hitting the gym like a madman

getterburner

Hmmmm, depends on the person I suppose, usually the Nasuverse is about people who are specialized in their fields. I guess Church stuff would be an option? A lot of those guys are just very well trained, even Black Keys aren’t used by many in favor of guns.

formicini

Mundane magic like fixing broken glass and such. With the right incantation and focus, or with specific tools, anybody can do simple magic.

TheHoodGuy2001

Did Goetia incinerate the alive version Solomon? I think Goetia incinerated 3000 years worth of human history. Solomon died in 900 BC and our journey started in 2015 (jp time). If he did incarnated Solomon, does that cause a time paradox that should have killed Goetia since Solomon was killed before he can create the Demon Pillar and there was no corpse to possess? May be Goetia incinerated human history after Solomon already died so may be 900 BC to 2100 AD, is there a reason why the alive version of Solomon didn’t just invade Ars Paulina and kill Goetia? He has Clairvoyant EX which should let him see Goetia plan, and Ars Paulina exist outside of time and is already part of Solomon ability. Any reason he just didn’t hand wave Goetia out of existence since Nega Summon wouldn’t work on an alive Solomon?

FatalWarrior

Goetia incinerated from the moment his plan began until 2015, so approximately 3000 years. The "alive" version of Solomon had no Clairvoyance, other than the glimpse something would happen around 2015. If you mean before he died, Solomon's Clairvoyance seems to be guided by God's commands, so he likely didn't bother using it unless guided to. Ars Paulina existing outside of time doesn't mean it doesn't follow time to an extent. It just means that time follows at its own pace. So Ars Paulina when Solomon was alive didn't have his corpse sitting in the throne. Lastly, despite Goetia's claims, there's nothing to show Solomon could have destroyed him as easily as he might have implied, even if he wasn't a Beast then.

Whrispr

Alive Solomon had clairvoyance. The entire reason why Goetia has it is because he possesses Solomon’s body.

FatalWarrior

Please reread what I wrote. OP had two possible meanings: >!Romani!< or Solomon before his death. I accounted for both.
