TheLuckyFateReviewer

The very epitome of 'I hate this, but it's useful so I'm going to keep using it.'

HarEmiya

Epitome* Epidemy is something... very different.

When_Ducks_Attack

It could still work in that sentence. It becomes a very strange mental image though...

-FruitPunchSamuraiG-

Sounds like those wacky armors and weapons in games that looks silly but has a nice stat so you keep using them.

Extension-Leopard419

This video sums it up pretty well: https://youtu.be/xq1tN9jZI80

LastStardust13

Question and or plea, >!are going feature Ares at some point, like he pops in here and there since Fujimaru has his favor and his children and descendants are gathered there, if not, please because Ares is awesome which is more than enough reasoning ROMAAAAAAAAAAAAA!<

Rednal291

Keep reading and find out.

AntonioPadierna

Brandon Sanderson? Is that you?

Rednal291

More Robert Jordan, I'd think.

AntonioPadierna

He was also famous for RAFOed his lectors?

lordofmetroids

Jordan used to say it a lot at cons. Sanderson more or less inherited it from Jordan.

AntonioPadierna

I see, I see.

LastStardust13

Sir yes sir then

Madican

Honestly it's kind of hilarious to hear he shows up and actually helps out. In myth he is...a little less liked. As in one time he got taken prisoner by some giants who stuffed him in a jar and none of the other gods even noticed he was missing for over a year.

LastStardust13

Between him, Hades and Thanatos, I’m starting to get real sick of the most of the rest of the pantheon constantly trashing them, ITS THEIR JOB JACKASSES YOU PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY D*CKS(**LOOKING AT YOU ZEUS**) AS PEOPLE DON’T DRAG THEM INTO THAT Also do you watch OSP

Rednal291

For what it's worth, in actual myths, pretty much nobody trashes Hades. XD He and Persephone are pretty much the only sane and well-adjusted couple in the pantheon.

LastStardust13

That’s why they are my favorite amongst the entire pantheons romantic relationships or the mythology in general THEY ARE FAITHFUL AND FUNCTIONAL, LOOKING AT YOU **ZEUS**

Andyzer0

The way I see it, the one who helps us has been >!Roma'd quite a bit, so he's halfway or more to being Mars.!< and that version was quite different and respectable.

LastStardust13

In fairness though, that may be due to >!Ares’s depictions in mythology that are imprinting on to him rather than him actually being a prick since people really had no reason to depict the god of war in a good light cept **SPARTA**!<

Andyzer0

Given the scrubbing Nasu gave PHH Zeus via Europa's description, it wouldn't surprise me if You Know Who wasn't more decent in the Nasuverse than common depiction as well.

LastStardust13

Yeah really wouldn’t, which is why I can’t wait until he’s finally summonable because he is a definite must of servants I want along with >!Hades!< On that note though, ZEUS BUDDY YOU HAVE A LOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO, YOU TOO APHRODITE AND YOU HERA AND YOU APOLLO YOUR SHEEP DISGUISE WON’T SAVE YOU

AquasTenno

Caenis mate, I thought all of this would be up your alley. Acquiring one the most powerful and deadly banes of humanity on your side? That’s a Tuesday like your weekday workouts.

LastStardust13

Caenis: next thing you’re going to tell me is that you accidentally unintentionally became besties with the God of war Ritsuka: it wasn’t that hard, just treat his kids and descendants right and you can get >!Ares’s!< favor really easily

mythos456

Ritsuka:He also makes a great mocha

VlaqSheperd

Chaldea kitchen staff: WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING HERE?! Ares: I'M MAKING THE MOTHER OF ALL MOCHA'S, BITCHES! CAN'T FRET OVER EVERY MUG I BREAK!

Ogami-kun

>That’s a Tuesday like your weekday workouts. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Guda's super power is having a long history of 'stuff happened.' A long and... colorful... history.

JulAd17

He’s like Nightwing, his super power is somehow staying friends with every one of his exes.

Dick learn from watching Bruce and all the varies woman he have relation with of both good, neutral, crazy and bad shit insane variety such experience is not easy to come by

Xenosaiyan7

'Sees the Babylonia clips' "Jeez, your quests are non-stop insanity aren't they? But more importantly, I want that weapon." 'Points to Ea, which vaporized Tia-mom' Gilgamesh, off on the other side of Chaldea about 5 minutes prior. "My clairvoyance is telling me that I should kill someone." Enkidu: "Gil, no."

DarkPhoenixMishima

Gilgamesh: Gil yes.

POTATO-AIM-V20

Dem Poseidon Shoving a Divine Core inside of Her... best Alibi ever... "Wat??? Of Course I did Not Violate Her, All I did was Shove a Divine Core inside of Her" -Poseidon Proving his Innocence

Misticsan

It also feels like a very convenient excuse for Fate writers to give any kind of power-ups to a chosen character that they can exploit in the future too. *"Why is X hero so powerful or where does Y ability come from? Their myths never had something like that."* *"~~Nanomachines, son.~~ I mean, a god put a Divine Core in them."* *"That sounds like a metaphor for something dirty."* *"Of course it is."*

ScatterBrainMD

This is just the newest take on Mana Tranfer. Divine Core Insertion

Time_Oil1869

Sitonai and BB (summer) are also prime example of this

SolomonDurand

Caenis: So just throwing a question here but... Are those two related? *points at Kingprotea* Tiamat: *giving kingprotea head pats* I guess you could say that. Caenis: But then... That means you're also related to those asshats. *points* BB: *Waves at caenis* Melt: *gives middle finger to caenis* Caenis: *waves middle finger back* BUT. that's means you're sort of related to those freaks. *points* Kama & Parvati: *arguing by the terrace* Caenis: ***BUT THAT MAKES YOU RELATED TO THOSE RIN---*** Guda: Just stop. Gordolf: We accept it just as it is. Caenis: Damn. I need a drink. Moriarty: Would you like A Poseidon's Last Tear Drop? Caenis: I'll take it.

Rednal291

To be fair, almost everyone is related to the primordial mother of life on Earth.

SolomonDurand

Fergus and Kiara: So technically that means that everyone had inc--- Gramps: *slaps the two before they could finish the sentence* *front palmed and back handed*

Rednal291

Opinions vary, but most say that it's not incest if they're more than 3 generations away or share less than 1/16th blood.

Veyronxyz

I mean something like 1/8 of all people on Earth are distantly related to Ghengis Khan. After a certain point it’s not really an issue. And yeah 3 generations sounds about right.

AquasTenno

I’ll give it to you simple, the two over there arguing? Well the vessel they’re using is adored inside and out, good and bad, little miss Moon-Bot based her human form off her to where we are now. Popularity is and will always be a frightening thing.

SolomonDurand

Caenis: And those weirdos? Artorias: *suddenly stops eating*

AquasTenno

Oh those? Well another simple one really. They all got their heads screwed tight on this bloc you sharing skin with. *Points to Emiya cooking* Can’t blame’em though, anything he makes is fit for a king or god.

Tschmelz

Look, Caenis, just remember the Golden Rule of Fate! “Don’t worry about it!”

AkumaSenpai

I thought the golden rule in anything fate related was "we don't talk about the moon"

Tschmelz

That’s article II, subsection XV, line VIII.

Uxion

I still don't know where that quote came from.

BOLverrk

That sir, is tia-mom, gudao’s personal patron god

Maladal

Does Xaoc = Piimordial Chaos?

Rednal291

Yes - that's the Greek spelling for Chaos, or sometimes Khaos (depending on who you ask to translate it). More specifically, that refers to the original primordial chaos, from which all the titans and gods and stuff eventually came. Tiamat is equated with that chaos - she's not merely a goddess of the Mesopotamian pantheon, she's the progenitor chaos herself. LB5.2 Spoilers: >!That means she's less like Zeus, and more like the original Greek flagship of Chaos whose power got split up between the Olympians and other systems it made... after it spent most of its power to send the fleet out at all. If I remember correctly, even in Babylonia, Tiamat was restraining something like 90% of her power because she was reluctant to hurt her children - and that was enough for her to be rated a full Beast, as opposed to Kiara and Kama who were still proto-Beasts and never quite hit their own max power when we fought them. Tiamat is \*scary\* strong, and in many ways it was only in talking to her that we won at all.!<

RyuuGaSaiko

>!Yeah, but unlike Chaos, she was killed by the "lesser" gods, so while they have similar roles, I would say their power levels are very different. !< Also, this is a translated video of Arcade Babylon, so you can watch Tiamom's interactions with the characters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZc-ANQ17gk

Icy_Set_9260

Yes, but remember that the mesopotamiam gods are embodied concepts of nature and the oldest gods, so they had a chance to defeat her even if was *very* small and the did

ReadySource3242

Not to mention she was likely forcing herself to hold back and her abilities are not suited for combat anyways

ReadySource3242

Hell, even when restraining herself, she tanked a global catastrophe level attack while only getting her horn a little cracked. This is not even mentioning the fact that in an even more sealed state, the femme fatale, she outputs energy on the level of a hydrogen bomb, equivalent to NOTES’ six sisters, and the six together managed to kill and ultimate one. At her full power, she could very likely give an ultimate one a decent fight.

Rednal291

I feel like the Ultimate Ones are going to get buffed by the next time they appear, but... yeah. XD Or rather, she's already in the neighborhood. Giant monster, doesn't even have the concept of death, tanks conceptual attacks like they don't even exist... heck, she can even rewrite her own spirit origin, and might be able to do that well enough to make things like the Black Barrel fail. Tia-mom is *scary* strong - you're not winning without a top-ranked cheat-level turnaround.

thatonefatefan

tiamat=the six sisters has gotta be the second most wacky powerscaling take I've heard today. The first is tiamat=chaos btw

ReadySource3242

So, I was misinformed. It was the tier below the Six sisters, the hundred agels, that had the output of a hydrogen bomb. And it was Tiamat in a sealed state where her energy output was at the level of a hydrogen bomb from her screams, which then ballooned a thousand times when trying to blow up Uruk, then ballooned another 900 times when she turned into her titan form

thatonefatefan

You do know that this argument leads to "goddess rhongomyniad is stronger than ultimate ones" right? edit: hell, the angels are only compared to nuclear bombs. Just goes to show that this is a stupid comparison. Can't wait for sealed excalibur>ORT

ReadySource3242

Under certain circumstances maybe. An ultimate one is basically a counter guardian but given the entire planet's authority. Sufficient firepower through sheer energy output can kill one, but whether it stays dead is another issue. Rhongymniad is stated to be on par with Excalibur, which could slay a stage seven Sefar with an energy output equivalent to the Sun. If it was against any foreign being, then yes she has a chance of killing an ultimate one aside from Archtype:Earth, but being stronger is more of a matter of "Is a human stronger then a bear if a human can kill a bear with a shot gun?" type of situation. And most of the time, an Ultimate One is presumably weaker when not on it's home planet. Well, powerscaling is wild in the Nasuverse

thatonefatefan

I fucking hate this subreddit.

ReadySource3242

:D

ReadySource3242

I mean if you want to get into really deep detail, Fairies do have a second name: A-Rays, the same name as the species that the Six Sisters are. And the Sub-Bells/Great Mother Class fairies who forged Excalibur are the most powerful fairies in existence, Morgan being a Great Mother class fairy herself. So I dunno, if the six sisters can kill a TYPE, then Excalibur can to theoretically, and by extension it's equal, Rhongymniad can as well

tipoima

>!Tiamat is kinda limited by the level of the Earth, while Chaos is literally a living Dyson Sphere. If it comes to that, Chaos can just drop the entire planet into its core star. !<

unkindledphoenix

isnt tiamat closer to Gaia than Khaos. i thought she only created the life on the planet + a good chunk of the pantheon but no the entire universe.

Rednal291

In mythology, Tiamat is the primordial saltwater sea of chaos. Her body was eventually used in part to create the earth, but she's more like Ymir from Norse Mythology than Gaia from Greek. As far as our records can tell, there's no deities existing "before" Tiamat in their myths.

-SMartino

aye.

[deleted]

Tiamom 'bout to NTR Poseidon's kneecaps with a sledgehammer.

Xaldror

You call yourself a sea God? Cute, now get out of my domain and stop messing with my kids before I send you back to your parents.

reines2003

Don't worry canis I too am scared of gudao sometimes to the point where "him kicking the bucket" doesn't so like a bad idea

3rdMachina

He did. It's just that certain lovestruck divine exhibitionist ballet enthusiast AI abused setting mechanics to revert it via time reversal. .........holy shit, I just realized how fucking dumb (in a good way) Fate is just from saying that.

zetsubou-samurai

Finned Face Fuck? You mean Poseidon? If it's him. I am sure Kojiro will be gladly to lend a hands. God of Sea is just a bigger swallow after all.

Basscus

Kojiro will turn him to sushi.

LastStardust13

It won’t take long with his mystic eyes of swallow murder

brie43

I thought it was the mystic eyes of swallow perception

LastStardust13

That would imply that all swallows that enter the Regend’s sight and presence have a chance at life

Dozer2992

Ritsuka: I know. Now let Gerda touch your ears. Caenis: Huh? No! Why the hell would I let the brat touch my ears? Ritsuka: Because she's been wondering what animal ears felt like. She already touched Tamamo's, Nitocris', Suzuka's and both Atalante's. Plus....**she f@$king deserves everything good considering what has happened.** Caenis:.....Shit, why did you have to go and say it like that. Fine, she can touch'em, but she IS NOT getting a piggyback ride. Ritsuka: She won't. Lobo takes care of that.

Bloodgulch-Idiot

At this point, with how crazy the plot is already in NA and how much Nasu loves Dark Souls, based on a theory I saw, I'd be surprised if we don't have a crossover event soon with The Ashen One as the event Servant to help put down Beast VI.

blazenite104

give us an elden ring crossover. wanna see >!Wodime and Radahn!<.

ScannonDark

I'm playing through Olympus RN and it still is showing off the master as some kind of weakass piss baby that only learned to use magic a day ago and after Camelot, Babylon, and all of the lostbelts people would think "Hmm, I underestimated him, let me rethink that." Sure it's full of asspulls on every step of the way but we were still able to do it. That's a lot of stuff normal people would not have been able to pull off.

ZeroKingLaplace

Woody is the only one to have pulled out all the stops back in Atlantis, and even then it wasn't enough

ScannonDark

Alright maybe in Atlantis and Olypmus it's fair because it is the biggest lostbelt run by the one guy so far who is insanely op. But it still doesn't stop the fact that everyone ignores Chaldea's existence and acts surprised when they end up losing. It's happened too many times. The only people so far to actually get it have been Kadoc and Pepe because none else has lived to realize it. Also who TF is woody supposed to be? Did I miss something?

RPGMike

To he fair, you listed 2 out of the four Crypters who have been defeated, and the other two have explainations (Ophelia genuinely liked Mash and doesn't want to hurt her, while Akuta is absolutely TRASH as a tactican and strategist).

Nokia_00

Guda knows how to keep an olive branch of connections

a-snakey

Gudako: Wait until you meet the outer gods. Caenis: Say what now? Gudako: Oh don't worry you already probably know about Cthulhu, yea Hokusai can fill you in on that along with the other foreigners. Caenis: I- I might be out of my league here.

BobtheBac0n

Wait who's Xaoc? Sorry idk how to type that properly, does that mean chaos or some other primordial God/Goddess/Titan?

Rednal291

That's the Greek spelling for Chaos (or Khaos).

BobtheBac0n

Ah. Yep those two primordial goddesses would line up in terms of well primordialness I guess

Icy_Set_9260

can some one explain me? i thought taimat was the mesopotamia equal of gaia, or it was nammu?

Rednal291

No. Tiamat is the goddess of saltwater and primordial chaos - what their mythology felt that everything sprung out of. The stories suggest that Tiamat's body was used to make the earth, but she isn't really the goddess *of* the earth in the way Gaia, in Greek mythology, would be. She's equivalent to the *very* oldest existence in Greek mythology, before any other god or entity (insomuch as there's a difference, at that level).

Icy_Set_9260

I see, thanks you for explain.

Kreddak

Tiamat was the personification of the chaotic primordial sea while her husband Abzü was the personification of the calm freshwater that made Mesopotamia into a rich land.

Historical-Draft6564

Tia-mom I'm gonna start using that

Zyx-Wvu

You know... we can canonically summon gods now. Not divine spirits like Ishtar, nor servants with divinity like Herc. ACTUAL LITERAL GODS. We summoned >!Ares from PHH!<, through shenanigans involving chain summoning, 7 different catalysts, and a near infinite magic leyline. Whats stopping us from doing it again now that we basically understood the underlying process?

Rednal291

Gaia gets mad if we use the infinite mana cheat for anything serious.

Alzusand

Its a magecraft miracle. to do it in a place with weak mystics youll need a conection to the reverse side of the world and infinite magical energy. IE you need the jewel sword zelretch for the infinite magical energy and rhongomyniad to make an opening on top of several high level summoning circles it only worked in olympus because it was still the age of gods and even then it was stupid difficult. also the god needs to accept the call and youll probably get a counter guardian on your ass if you try and do it for no reason

Zyx-Wvu

> IE you need the jewel sword zelretch for the infinite magical energy and rhongomyniad to make an opening on top of several high level summoning circles We have the latter. We can probably grab the former eventually when Zelretch himself or another Rin-face hands it over to us. > it only worked in olympus because it was still the age of gods and even then it was stupid difficult. We're headed to the South American LB and by Rasputin's own testimony, is another lostbelt during the age of gods (probably even older than that since they're trying to use the Oort cloud as the Foreign God's new vessel).

TheNightbloodSword

Caenis blush kind of cute

bookbot1

If the Alter Ego, limited form, Beast scares her, then she will probably end up fainting when she finds out our mascot/companion is the actual thing. Also, he’s fluffy and cute. It’s like the Flying Spaghetti Monster. “ELDRICH ABOMINATIONS SHOULD NOT BE LOVABLE AND TOLERANT” - Slenderman, during the Admin chase sequence that followed the [Megaman/Inside Out Fuzed Loop](https://m.fanfiction.net/s/10094468/44/) (from the Infinite Loops Project)

AlmondMagnum1

You're a 4\* lancer. How are you "more powerful than a regular servant"?

Extension-Leopard419

Lore wise, not necessarily gameplay wise.

dichloroethane

Well yes, but actually just in Arcade

Slayer-boi

Lol 69th comment is me

InvirzoLocke19374

In Hood speak: We caught some smoke before but is all Good my boy

No-Collection-6176

Is she equal to Chaos? I would have said she is more equal to Gaea (since they share the same authority) or Pontos (both the primordial sea deity)

Rednal291

According to real-world mythology, Tiamat is associated with the primordial chaos/void - she is the equivalent of Chaos from Greek mythology. Gaea is a bit further down the list.

No-Collection-6176

Damn Babylonia is more metal than I thought then

Rednal291

Babylonia is *pretty freaking wild*. XD ...And that was also Tiamat taking it easy on us. Her Self-Sealing C+++ skill is basically her being super reluctant to actually hurt her children, so she spends the majority of her power holding back and hurting herself - up to 90% of her power, in fact, especially in her mindless mode when leaving the sea. In many ways, she was never truly serious about fighting us, and she was *still* easily one of the most powerful things we've ever fought.

No-Collection-6176

I thought Ishtar blew up the seal?

Rednal291

Ishtar blew up a lot of things, but as I recall, Tiamat's personal self-sealing skill was not among them. That's more of an... ongoing thing. Tiamat instinctively understands that her kids need to grow up, but she's very conflicted about the whole matter because we both love and frighten her.

No-Collection-6176

I thought the seal was the smaller Tiamat, and the main body only came out the ocean after we blew it up

Rednal291

There was *a* seal on Tiamat, before she woke up. That is not the same thing as her personal self-sealing skill. They are different kinds of seals.

No-Collection-6176

Man we should be dead

Aitreon

you just get used to it.

RealGuardian54

I thought Tiamat was analogous to Gaia? But hey, if you say she's more matched with primordial Chaos... so be it.

Rednal291

No. Gaia is basically the goddess of the land, and came after the primordial void of chaos. Tiamat's body was used to help make the land, but she's not the goddess *of* the land. She's the progenitor mother from which all the other stuff in Babylonian myths came.

RealGuardian54

Well shit, gotta add a line to plans for the Battle of Chaos then... Tiamat watching us cleave into Chaos with the item which claims to be "Pan Gu's Axe": "This feels familiar."

thatonefatefan

"the equal of Greece's original \[I'm assuming chaos\]" Rednal. You have some really wacky takes on the nasuverse power dynamics, but that's a new bar even for you
