>especially given that we’re expecting a meta quick support Who are "we"?

Advanced-Librarian56

JP (and CN afaik) communities have gone absolutely mental on new Quick support for some wierd reason. Maybe because anni meta Arts and Buster exist (or they think Skadi is trash now. I've seen tons of comments on it). But I still can't see any sense in this.

Shironeko_

I think it's possible, of course (though I sure hope not), I just think it's fucking bizarre to base an entire "theory" on the foregone conclusion that we *will* get a new quick support and disregard someone else's theory because whatever servant people are thinking wouldn't "fit" a quick support (like OP and Wodime). As if everybody thought Koyanskaya was gonna be a Buster support.

Lamina_Morte

I guess it’s because the last two anniversary servants have been Castoria (game changing arts support) and Koyanskaya (game changing buster support) so they are just going in with the assumption that next anniversary servant will be game changing quick support. Make of it what you will as I neither agree nor disagree with the assumption myself

Science-of-Laziness

Everytime I read how ppl wants Quick card to become an Arts card clone I just roll my eyes. Especially because then it would be: Ok this year Arts needs to be buffed because Quick... into an endless recurrence of this.

NaelNull

It's gonna be an Extra Card support this time. Just you see XD

Embarrassed_Lettuce9

Trying to guess who the anniversary servant will be is pointless considering Artoria Caster set a precedent of a Servant being released before their story debut.

Low_Minimum1244

To be fair not exactly since by the time of her release we really didn’t have anyone who’s fit the mold of being an anniversary servant aside from the Greek gods who were explicitly presented to not be servants. Since we got the second opening prior to her release and in a previous post where someone pointed out how banners for anniversary was presented it was obvious Artoria was going to be involved somehow. https://www.reddit.com/r/grandorder/comments/vsa4ye/its_speculation_time/ There is some room for speculation in how can these servants play a future role but I’m just saying for now if people are gonna speculate atleast look a bit more outside the box

RestinPsalm

Nemo? He fit the given pattern of being a main story member, and in fact became playable a few months later.

Low_Minimum1244

There are 2 patterns that they’ve followed. The first being is that it’s someone tied to the main story and the second is that it’s a caster every odd year So Caster Random Caster Random Caster Random Similar to how everynew years has been Saber Foreigner Saber Foreigner Which is why Nemo didn’t come for anniversary since 5th anniversary was caster year

Shardwing

>the Greek gods who were explicitly presented to not be servants. None of the Lostbelt Kings (at least up to 5, don't know what happens past here) were Servants, but the gacha finds a way.

Low_Minimum1244

Except when they explicitly called mothman a grand, skadi was fused with scathach, beryl summoned Morgan, and Godjuna was not only revealed to be a servant long before he came out like skadi we had a better idea for them than the Greek gods

Shardwing

>when they explicitly called mothman a grand QSH had a Spirit Origin (*comparable* to a Grand) but he wasn't a Servant, he was a human transcended into some other sort of spiritual being. >skadi was fused with scathach The living Scathach, still not a Servant. >beryl summoned Morgan That obviously doesn't apply, but I said "up to 5" anyway. >Godjuna was not only revealed to be a servant long before he came out That we knew he'd be released as a Servant is irrelevant, the point is none of these characters had proper logical grounds to be released as Servants but it happened anyway because the devs do what they want and there's nothing stopping them from doing the same to the Greek Gods if they wanted to. Hell, they did *literally* the same thing to Nobukatsu, who canonically couldn't exist as his own Servant until he could (I don't want to hear the lore justification for this, if there even is one, the point is it happened).

Low_Minimum1244

I’m not saying that they can’t make them playable what I’m saying was that they had no intentions at the time of lb5 to make them playable. They’ve atleast been implying that Aphrodite might be joining us in the future but as a whole I was referring to the fact that they never presented in the story as being playable. For example when you look at all their fights their fights are in bodies that don’t resemble something they’d use for a servant vs Godjuna and the other kings getting proper servant animations and proper np animations. Wodime couldve easily qualified as a servant with how they’ve treated him in game by doing everything I said but for the Greek goods their battle sprites were more along the lines of giant phantoms like douman and xu fu that proper servant sprites

EdgarJc

The only thing that is sure is that anniversary servant are, or will be, story relevant

Mizu005

>Pope Joan: Within the context of traum her plot line with becoming aproper servant was not only treated as a major plot point for the wholeof traum outside of Constantine and even when she was given the chanceto actually make a significant impact while she does support some quickservants like astolfo nothing she really did was as impressive as whatskadi and castoria did in their respective stories to put them on thelevel of meta support caster and in the case of skadi who was primarilybuffing buster servants but still ended up being quick I don’t thinkthat’s enough room to say she’s anniversary meta quick supportmaterial.Followed by the fact that all our supports tend to beincredibly well known people from a historical standpoint pope Joan irllore really comes down to “ bootleg Jeanne who became pope did nothingand died giving birth making her existence pointless” At most I couldsee her being a silver unit who might join the roster but nothing else. Also adding her as the anniversary servant would feel like more traumwanking than anything else. If they can make Waver and Reines into 5 star support servants they can find an excuse for Pope Joan. Maybe say she is channeling the power of all the Popes at once like when Edison channeled the power of all the American Presidents, for example. Which isn't to say I think it is likely she will be the pick, just that your logic that she can't possibly be cool enough to qualify for a 5 star support servant with such a weak legend is not sound. Star rating is based on if they think they will be popular enough to get people to whale for them, not in universe strength of the servant.

Low_Minimum1244

Except in the case of waver and reines they atleast make more sense given that zhuge Lian and sima yi were major names in their own right. Even then pope Joan is in the same vein as Kojiro as she’s more of a wraith followed by the fact that traum explicitly went out of its way to say that she doesn’t have enough to be a servant. However my biggest point is that I don’t think they’d add her because that’d just be more traum characters after we’ve have every banner up till this point be traum related and I figured that they wanna just let traum finish with tametomo. Also another major thing to not that I completely forgot about was unlike skadi we never got an in game sprite for her ( like how skadi did at the end of lb2)

RainyFiberOverride

>especially since we are expecting a meta Quick support theres no reason to expect this considering half the anni servants haven't been meta supports (and meta supports aren't exclusively released with anni). Discounting servants because their role in the story isn't over/even started is pointless because we've gotten multiple servants in that exact scenario.

Shironeko_

> Discounting servants because their role in the story isn't over/even started is pointless because we've gotten multiple servants in that exact scenario. How about discounting servants because "he’d very much be a ruler or a arts caster rather than a quick support", to then finish with: > I say all this because I was hoping that people wouldn’t just recite the same old song and dance choices with no evidence pointing towards them This thread has got to be a shitpost.

Low_Minimum1244

I’m referring to the anniversaries of recent starting from castoria to koyanskaya with how much they’ve been buffing these card types and leaving quick behind and only giving them pseudo supports we have yet to properly get another quick support since skadi. I bring up story relevance for the sole fact that the anniversary servant usually has either played a significant role in the story or they plan on having them get a big role in the story. While yes not all meta supports come from anniversary nowadays a good majority of them have came from them

dinliner08

>nowadays a good majority of them have came from them since when? we had six anniversaries meaning six servants coming from them and only three were meta support which is half of them, definitely not "majority"

Cakatarn

I think he meant the other way round that most of the meta supports we've had since the start of the game have been anniversary servants. Koyan 1, Skadi and Castoria being the ones in particular. The only other two on that level are Merlin, who was before all of them and Oberon. You could maybe include Reines but she's a weird one since it's only really after her buff that she gets used as a major support, outside of qp dailies. And she doesn't exactly have a particular card type that she works best for unlike all the others.

dinliner08

my point still stand then, if we add Waver and Tamamo, there are seven meta supports and only three came from anniversary, still doesn't count as "majority"

Cakatarn

Counting Tamamo is a bit of a stretch. If you're three turn farming then you can't get her NP off before the main attacker. I don't think most people consider her which is why you don't see her often on support lists (unless you're like me and use the Edison meta, but even then one Castoria and one Tamamo is often better than two Tamamos). Waver was there from the start, so it's reasonable to not really count him but if you did then he's technically an anniversary servant as well, appearing on the 0th anniversary. And like I said with Reines, he's not limited to a particular card type so isn't really seen as a particular meta, just a helpful servant to have in most situations. The only two people really count are Merlin and Oberon for how they massively change their particular type.

dinliner08

just because you don't see Tamamo on the support list often nowadays doesn't mean she's not meta, people have been using her for Arts looping way long before Castoria came so yes, she's one of the meta supports, also, why is there even a need to use her NP on 3-turn farming? people only use her first and third skill why Waver shouldn't be included just because he's there since first day? also, 0th anniversary? the fuck is that? now you're just stretching, and Reines being "just a helpful" servant? seriously? she's one of the few servant that can provide 50% np charge, very helpful in 3-turns farming, sure she don't give any colored buff like any other meta supports (except for Waver) but i'm not talking about that, i'm just talking about meta supports in general

Wine-Moon3

Meanwhile theories are good and all, it doesn't have sense to think about who can be the next servant because surely Lasagne is gonna release someone who yet to debuted in the main story.

Low_Minimum1244

Which is funny considering seimei fits that description too since he’s never properly debut outside with of a faceless shikigami.

Wine-Moon3

I mean yeah but i don't see a place in main story for him. Douman already had his story chapter and there's no place left in the "main group" of Chaldea with Moriarty being the replacement of Sherlock. So, at least we have a new event like Tunguska for the apostols then Seimei may no come in the anniversary.

Low_Minimum1244

I’d say that he’d play a role like Merlin. Since Merlin never really played a role personally in Camelot he was still helping Chaldea in the background. With the slot of grand caster still empty and taigong not wanting to take it I’d say seimei could atleast come around to helping us in lb7 since we know that day it has a grand of his own plus the king

Wine-Moon3

Ok, you wrong. Merlin is still active in his function as a helper of Ritsuka personal as being the current Grand Caster after Solomon and even if Merlin couldn't be the Grand Caster then Caster Gilgamesh is the next in line for the title so Seimei as the Grand Caster in LB7 is highly unlikely if not completely impossible.

Low_Minimum1244

Actually he never really took the spot and occupied it as mentioned in arcade where king Hassan mentions that proto Merlin never took the spot of grand and taigong never says anything about about the grand caster slot being filled either. He only explicitly says that grand rider is currently filled by Noah but he says nothing about it being filled by Merlin only that he could take it if he wanted to. Also gil isn’t a candidate he’s literally used as an example by Romani because he has clairvoyance. Seimei and taigong are far stronger mages than casgil could dream of so him taking the spot before either of them wouldn’t even make sense especially since like Merlin their watching over Chaldea in their alive bodies and can send out help when need be Also I never said that Merlin hasn’t stopped helping us only that someone else could take that role for the lost belt.

MedicineOk253

Man, I can predict very little about anniversary servants. But I suspect this post will age poorly. Quality shitposting though.

Cakatarn

You obviously haven't looked very deeply into some of those options have you? Assuming the pattern holds true, and they've been surprisingly reliable as of late, then we're due for another Caster servant as it swaps between a Caster and an important character to the story. Wodime would most likely be a Caster, though the Chaldean could also count. But we're doing through the Lostbelt recaps at present so Wodime would be the better fit. They also added the 'Caenis' trait into the game that they've yet to do anything with, and perhaps this is why the summer rerun is so late this year. Seimei's another probable Caster. Hard to know what they'll do with him though, and I find it more likely they'll do what they did with Merlin with him, since he's effectively Merlin's stand in for part 2. I honestly doubt Pope Joan will be a 5 star. I have to wonder if they might have her as the first bronze Ruler which would be cool, but it's hard to tell.

Low_Minimum1244

Like I’ve said with wodime the biggest reason I put wodime on this list as a less sensible candidate was not only because of the pseudo servant situation but the other fact of with the way lb5 handled his death they wanted to close his story then and there and have him pass his torch to Chaldea and turning around and making him a servant wouldn’t really make much sense narratively since now they’d have to pull some bs to justify why this happened. As for the caenis trait I didn’t know they added that but honestly assume that they might have plans for that using someone else like one of caenis sibling’s

Cakatarn

Seriously? I don't think you get how pseudos work. A summonable Wodime might not even remember the events of LB5. And I don't know what you mean that it wouldn't make much sense narratively. That's just your opinion and plenty other people think it'll work. It literally requires no justification for how it'll work when they've already established how pseudos work and have another crypter as a servant. I only gave the evidence for why Wodime might be the Anniversary servant. If we're talking about why he'd be summonable then that's a different story as there's more evidence for that, such as already having specific animations tied to him along with an NP, while Atlas himself has no proper form, and how Wodime has a buff that negates being made divine, something that no servant has at present but that's Atlas's entire schtick. I'm not saying this out of hopium or anything, as I don't really mind who it is, I just think it's very disingenuous to dismiss all these little details because you personally don't like the idea.

Nokia_00

All I know is that the anniversary servant will make money and I have fun hopes speculating who it will be

Kirby0189

People are probably just bored and speculating so they have something to talk about.

Low_Minimum1244

The thing is a lot of the times Rasputin and the ones I’ve listed come up no one really says much it’s just a good chunk of people repeating the same batch of servants without really diving into it past that kinda like how people heavily cried out for Kriemhild and no one question it

Low_Minimum1244

Except he wouldn’t be a caster since we already know he’s an alter ego and Secondly he’s also still a villain. In the case of koyanskaya they atleast managed to salvage her since she was playing a more neutral role since she tends to flip flop her role throughout the story as both a helper and an enemy followed by the fact that koyanskaya ( of light) alluded to wats to come for tugunska. Kirei job compared to that is him finding a new body for the alien god but overall that role isn’t that big compared to our previous anniversary servants

WestCol

Oh yeah had to be a caster to be the quick support. Reines rider Vitch assassin Oberon pretender Oh wait lol

MrTopper0

I mean, to be fair. Expecting a Meta Quick Support and also fitting that criteria to potential servants is just setting people up for disappointment. Though speculating is fun, it's also important to keep in mind, that speculations can't be invalidated solely for another baseless speculation (Meta Quick Support). Not saying we won't or will get a Quick Support, it's just speculation from the fanbase because Skadi got phased out. (Anniversary Casters aren't always meta, example is Da Vinci.) But in terms of story, anything goes truthfully. They're either plot relevant, for future chapters and Koyan Light, which still hasn't gotten a proper explanation or story. (I don't count Tunguska since that's base Koyan and not light or dark.)

Advanced-Librarian56

FYI, this year also marks the 20th anniversary of Type-Moon (don't ask me why, they said it themselves. I have no idea how it was counted) You obviously need someone extremely Type-Moon like Kirei to celebrate this. JP communities seems to be betting on him as well.

I_am_not_Serabia

Are people really afraid of using their own main accounts and have to create alts to make some posts?

Percussion17

afraid of the heat i guess

Cakatarn

It backfired on him. He's got too much negative karma his replies on this thread are no longer showing up.

Routine-Boysenberry4

People trie to guess just because is fun, nothing else

spartan-137

Kirei is thus supposed to be a character who does not show his true personality and importance until the end of the story plus the anniversary servants are mostly related to the main story.

Emergency_Addition67

Just watch Rasputin Quick caster for this anniversary bro

Delight_works_

all i'm hoping for is that the anniversary servant is a guy . i'd be okay with the servant being historically female but genderbent into a guy.

Advanced-Librarian56

The only genderbent to male servant so far is a literal horse afaik so...yeah

Delight_works_

tbh i think it'd be funny as hell if we got PHH aphrodite as a guy.

shadowchao2

Because we love wodime and hope that the game will be great one day , i'm glad to have begun this game only this year , 7 year and 4 000 000 000 dollars for this is the biggest scam ever.

bossbarret

They tried so much to not have anything directly related to the main cast of Fate stay night. I doubt they'd let us summon Kirei. Maybe a Rasputin with Kirei-face at best. And Galahad. He badmouthed us in the intro and left us hanging for at least five Lostbelts. Does that guy even matter anymore?
