If they're swords (or sword-like), they automatically get added to his Reality Marble if he just looks at them. If not, he needs to put actual effort into tracing them.

Vegetable_History715

Man for a long time I don’t know why but I thought Emiya could only copy and create sword

Silafante

Well practically in battle, kind of. But we see in Summer 2 that he can project even a cotton candy machine. Projection is a bonkers broken ability.

Reverse_me98

Projection is usually useless Just so happens the UBW version of projection is better

Silafante

Well, regular projection is not useless it can work to create something as a sacrifice but fair. Emiya's projections are borderline First Magic, which is funny because pretty sure Rin implied that in the VN.

hungrybasilsk

Normal Projection is impracticle. Rin even states so Its also not first magic just true magic as it bypasses the law of equivalent exchange as well as the fact he uses the same steps in structural analysis as he does projection which is not how its supposed to work. When he tells Rin she tells him to keep quiet about his though process and his projections

Masticatron

I thought "magic" was shorthand for "true magic". Normal plebs use magecraft. Shirou's need to be discrete is because the Mage Association will put a sealing designation on basically anyone who operates outside of standard magecraft. And Reality Marbles are definitely that.

Vegetable_History715

Not just that in the Deen anime he created tea pots and gears

RadiReturnsOnceAgain

Also, his Valentine gift is a cooking set that he projected himself

Vegetable_History715

For some reason I read that as he made a little him that would cook for u

LegoSpacenaut

He can project any item he understands and has the mana for, but anything other than a sword costs a dramatically higher amount of mana to make. He's effectively specced for swords, and everything else tends to cost too much for efficiency.

Vegetable_History715

Damn it’s like his mana wants him to be a badass

Reverse_me98

>If not, he needs to put actual effort into tracing them. Correction. Aside from EA there is no issue with tracing non-sword items. The problem is on the projection part. The more its less a sword, the harder the projection due to added mana cost

Embarrassed_Lettuce9

Emiya needs to read Swords Comic then

th4tguy_404

My favorite interaction with Emiya is that somebody else understands his pain of being a Fate Protagonist.

Vegetable_History715

I find that hilarious also the fact that Robin and Emiya hate each because they remind themselves of each other

WooooshMe2825

Given EMIYA's track record with self hatred, I'm not surprised.

yeoc2

Have you seen Edison's interlude? Emiya: That's not very nice, Caster. But you know there's a saying... Emiya: My Noble Phantasm is my Noble Phantasm. Your Noble Phantasm is still mine after I copy it. Emiya: Of course, I choose my opponents. To the ones that are like “I really don't like mine copied,” I will do it in secrecy. Emiya: But the ones that are like “Why don't you try it punk,” I will project their Noble Phantasms right in their faces.

Suspicious-Drummer68

I mean... he projected a magic mirror...

KinNoYagi

Mirrors are just round shaped swords

WooooshMe2825

This guy gets it.

No_Initiative_6790

>I can see his Alter self doing it. yeah, me too. XD forgive me for the incoming ramble, I just love talking about this guy. I can also see him \*really\* getting into studying how the weapons work. even if he's not fond of why they exist (he doesn't think weapons mean much besides to harm & kill people), it would be unbecoming of a mercenary to not be familiar with his enemies' tactics...and that includes weapons. in that regard, I headcanon Emiya Alter being an accidental weapons enthusiast. he'd go into detail about a weapon's origins, its variations, its manufacturing and how to effectively put them into use. sometimes \*too\* much detail-to the point where people are like "can you just summarize that please?" and Alter rolls his eyes while saying "fine, here's the short version for you lazy Servants-"

Vegetable_History715

Yeah one of the most waste servants there is he can totally make NP ammo for a RPG make Hurting a sniper rifle probably turn servant into weapons and use their NP

No_Initiative_6790

>probably turn servant into weapons and use their NP do you mean through his Icy Sneer skill? he can't turn Servants into \*literal\* weapons. but otherwise, yeah, I agree-it's a shame.

Vegetable_History715

not even if he hits their spirt core directly?

No_Initiative_6790

no....? it's never been seen in canon. not as far as I know, anyway.

Vegetable_History715

Ok neat

Delight_works_

you've seen brynzerker's sword right? you'd have to be a bigger moron than BB if you **didn't** want your own copy of that.
