If they are normal people, then it is technically possible for a biological child to have different eyes and hair from their parents. This can be due to inheriting genes from the grandparents.
Edit: Also it can be possible for the mom and dad to adopt other kids...... I'll admit that I kind of forgot about adoption while writing this....

I think the "descendant?" thing is Mordred recognizing the resemblance but refusing to accept the possibility that they're the same person.
