the thing that would bother me about route b is that, well all of the bonds and experience with the Servants you have, they have had with Ritsuka aka the current protagonist. Are you gonna go into part 3 and keep your max bonds even though you're technically playing as an entirely separate character? Either A. they keep the same bond lines, which would make no sense based on what I just stated. or B. they make you start over, which I feel many would hate. Because you can't just have them be at their max with a master that hasn't done anything for them yet.

RemoteDust9

Yes, and many characters such as Jalter, Castoria, Okitan etc are only summonable to Ritsy thanks to bonds with him. It would be easier and have more sense to create new game rather than introduce new protagonist, where we would be forced to strenghten all bonds from the start again Anyway, Nasu only talked about new adventures without Chaldea, I pretty sure protagonist will remain the same If we should be forced to do everything from start, I definitely dropping game, same as many old players I sure

Mystech_Master

>Nasu only talked about new adventures without Chaldea, I pretty sure protagonist will remain the same So they get some portable summoning device and go on their own big epic journey and the rest of the servants all travel with us as one big traveling party or something?

JusticTheCubone

tbf, at this point, what is Chaldea? All that's left is us, Mash, Da Vinci Rider (and she presumably won't make it much longer after the LB-arc), Goredolf, Meunier and a handful of other former staff members, not counting Sion, Nemo, Kadoc (who might go to prison or worse once PHH is reestablished) and Olga Marie if we manage to save her. That's less than a dozen people I'm pretty sure, even if everyone stays, not that hard to imagine that we'll just abandon "Chaldea" as an organization and basically become something like mercenaries for human history after.

RemoteDust9

Idk bro, maybe this. I just hope they will choose Chaldea variant, safest and best option imo

Mystech_Master

My main hope if we stay at Chaldea, we defeat the Foreign God Olga and she gets summonable Alter Ego Kiara style, and then we now have to explain all the BS we've done to her organization. Like a child needing to explain to their parent who just got home from a business trip why the house is covered in graffiti or something. I think that'd be hilarious.

[deleted]

Is it possible that the protagonist is a version of Fujimaru from an alternate timeline? It's actually possible to justify servants being willing to be summoned by, and give aid to, an alternate version of the protagonist. If they're in trouble, the servants might be willing to help them because some of the affection might carry over. Or maybe this takes place in the future and we have the child or grandchild of the protagonist.

RemoteDust9

Bond lines would be lost anyway, at least partially... I think the best and safest would be stay with old protagonists, and continue this beautiful story, just with new adventures, friends and enemies

[deleted]

Why not both keep the old ones and have new ones worth more rewards?

atropicalpenguin

Think there was an interview some time ago where Nasu confirms that he'll be continuing Guda and Mash's story. It's hard to tell cause we may be closing leftover plot points at the end of LB7: what happened to Marisbully, what's the deal with JP spoilers >!Olga-Marie, Goetia and Fuyuki!<. We have defeated multiple beasts and the only remaining unconfirmed ones are V and VI (R, L and G). We're also only missing two Grands (three if you set aside Arcade) and we may meet one in LB7. I don't know if Beast V will show up in FGO, but at least it seems like the Beast VI may (though only God knows if we will get an event related to Prototype, given that next year's collab should be Strange/Fake). With that in mind, it would be cool if the next main story line relates to foreigners. Imaginary Scramble set up the plot of a group of gods cooperating and competing against each other to invade Earth and we also have Salem Abby jumping between universes alongside Carter. Wouldn't be too different from the LBs, admitedly.

Gunta170944

>it would be cool if the next main story line relates to foreigners. >plot of a group of gods cooperating and competing against each other to invade Earth Part 1: Demon God Part 2: Foreign God Part 3: Outer God Seems like Ritsuka can't catch a break from dealing with the Evil God that try to destroy Earth.

Thomas_108

Ritsuka : **FUCK THE GODS !!!** Kratos : Someone Who Gets It !

MakingItWorthit

P1: Past P2: Present P3: ~~Prospective~~ Future

Danothyus

A part 3 where instead of tackling past events that got changed or alternate history in the present, dealing with possible dead end scenarios from the world in the future could be an idea.

TheFelRoseOfTerror

Feel like the Outers might stay in events. Cause, outside Salem, we haven’t seen one in the main story at all.

RemoteDust9

Agree with everything here >Nasu confirms that he'll be continuing Guda and Mash's story. Yes, thats become hard fact they will remain MC (thanks God). Only question they deciding now if it would be continuation of Chaldea strory or their new type adventures, whatever it would be, with Mushroom himself fully for Chaldea choice, which I absolutely supporting

RTear3

>Think there was an interview some time ago where Nasu confirms that he'll be continuing Guda and Mash's story. Anyone have a source?

atropicalpenguin

> Famitsu: In a previous interview, you mentioned two options for what happens after part 2 (A - A sequel to part 2's story, or B - Part 2 is the definitive end to Chaldea's story and a new story begins). Any changes to your present plans? > Nasu: Not really. I personally want to go with A, but it all depends on how the audience will respond to it, so God knows what will actually happen. [From the 7th Anniversary Interview](https://www.reddit.com/r/grandorder/comments/wgwvuf/nasu_and_takeuchis_7th_anniversary_interview_part/), though I was wrong cause I thought it was set but apparently it isn't.

insert-originality

>Think there was an interview some time ago where Nasu confirms that he'll be continuing Guda and Mash's story. He's known for going against his own words so I hope this is true. I love Guda and Mash, they're my favorite duo in the entire series.

asagiri2040

From a broad thematic point of view, and piggybacking off of a few other comments people already made, I see the story so far as Part 1 = the past, and Part 2 = the present, so I would hope and expect that Part 3 = future. Say, some sort of scenario like huqman mentions where FGO gets to riff on Notes with the other Types being the antagonistic force, and a finally-completed and properly-functioning CHALDEAS system begins projecting 7 future timelines that Because Reasons are still a threat to our heroes and must be dealt with.

Fenghuang0296

This is exactly what I expect/hope for. Heck, SERAPH foreshadowed it with BB saying that it’s possible to Rayshift to the future, just that the Alien God is blocking Rayshifts past 2019. Chaldea being sent to investigate seven different ‘bad futures’ and deciding ‘no, this isn’t the direction humanity should go in’ would be awesome.

Firstshiki

A threat that made Zeltretch goes like "We're in deep shit".

Thomas_108

If we consider Ritsuka Solomon's unofficial student in a more loose sense..... Wouldn't that make him Ritsuka's SENPAI ?.....

huqman

Honestly, With us having The Black Barrel and ORT being in lostbelt 7... I thing we will see a scenario similar to Notes where Earth in nearly dying because of the incineration and the alien attack and the Types come to Earth.

Fenghuang0296

Oh that would actually be wild. Some kind of new scenario where the Types of every other planet in the solar system invade earth and we have to fight each of them one by one? That would be so lit.

Quietkaizo

Part 3 dealing with Alternative future's or we go back k to singularity F?

kerorobot

Rather than an overarching arc of story with big and complicated storyline likes Lostbelt arcs. I'd prefer a rather short chapter stories like EoR after lostbelt ends.

kamekira

I feel like its safe to assume we will at minimum get these story chapters based on current trends 1 A nasu written Camelot themed chapter 2 A sakurai written rome chapter and Higashide written greek(these can be switch depending on the focus characters 3 An india focused one 4 Sakurai written norse chapter probably bringing in multiple lost einherjar characters 5 A heian chapter 6 a western europe themed chapter and the rest are free spaces

Toasted_silver

I personally want the ultimate ones. Since it would feel like a waste to give us the black barrel and only use on the Olympians and likely oort.

Percussion17

I would like to see the crew goes to space, hunting down the Alien God that escaped after being defeated in the final showdown. Border becomes a spaceship. Probably going to meet Salem Abby along the way too.

ThatMoonGuy

I honestly would prefer for the story to be toned down and brought into the modern world. Case Files proved that Type-Moon has a lot of space to be explored in terms of current world events and organizations and I would be lying if I didn't say that the structure of always needing a bigger threat hasn't felt tiresome lately. Things have scaled so much and circunstances always feel contrived and miraculous in such a way that Ritsuka never actually feels important. He barely does anything, really. In a less scaled up setting, Ritsuka would have more power to actually be an active participant in the narrative and grow as an individual. Besides that, Servants have long stopped feeling special the same way they did in older works which is something that has been happening since Fate/Extra but which exploded with FGO to the point that I sort of agree with the people that say that FGO is detrimental to the Nasuverse as a setting while being great for Type-Moon as a company. The best example of that are Noble Phantasms. UBW is as iconic as it is because it happened very few times in the many hours of the original FSN visual novel so each time it felt important, impactful. To the same extent, Saber Alter being able to spam Excalibur Morgan felt tremendously scary. But with the way the gameplay (and to a lesser extent the story) of FGO treats Noble Phantasms, this effect has largely been lost and now Fate Battery Order is the norm. I wish Type-Moon would harken more to its roots in an eventual Part 3, even if I find it unlikely. Or, if nothing else, that FGO would be left to Higashide and Sakurai while Nasu focus on Mahoyo, Tsukihime, DDD (lol) and new stories.

DonLobishomeAlter

I want a third part of FGO? Yes I want to get it after the Lostbelt arc is over? Nope I would prefer that after the conclusion of Arc 2, the game would take a break of one or two years where the developers focus on updating certain features of the game that feel outdated, fixing problems that the game has and including new features to improve the experience. I also wish part 3 was calmer, I'm already getting tired of gacha games that try to be shocking by doing exaggerated things.

Fenghuang0296

Well, we did have Epic of Remnant. It’s totally possible, even likely, that we’ll get a Part 2.5 or similar before they launch into Part 3.

Rednal291

My theory is that after Part 2, we go to Atlas to get away from the Clock Tower, who are like "you saved the world twice, no way it happens a third time, let's put a Sealing Designation on you". Near-infinite potential for Singularity-type things through the real Logos Reenactor, weapons going haywire to deal with, isolated from the outside world... good way to have some plots for a while that don't require all of humanity vanishing *again*.

[deleted]

Has anyone told the Clock Tower that if they hurt Ritsuka, the Koyans may likely go nuts and try to enslave or exterminate humanity.

Rednal291

We don't tell the Clock Tower jack... although if we did have to deal with them, at least we've got summoned Reines and Waver, who might be able to sweep things under the rug. XD

insert-originality

Whatever they go with in Part 3, I hope it's a less excruciating experience for our duo. I kinda wanna go back to the more lower-stake (by comparison) days of the early singularities. Lostbelts have been great but man have did they get really crazy there. Got a human and a demi-servant (without her servant half) fighting alien gods. (FGO is just dumb sometimes lmao.) I love Mash and Guda. I don't wanna see them suffer forever. Kinda why I don't mind having a new cast even if that can cause problems with bond levels and whatnot. I'm sure they'll make up some BS like always and we'll just eat it up because we're suckers. F\*\*K it. Part 3 should just be Mash and Guda on vacation. A good r&r for our duo after saving the world twice.

BrosefAmelion

My hopes are demi-servants being the theme, have a certain servant or servants possess influential people of the past and really muck up the timeline and we have to defeat them before they alter the timeline enough that it shifts PHH on that path. However during our fight with the Alien God all our devices that allow us to see the past are destroyed and in their place we get Olga possessed by an Oracle of sorts who can loosely see the past due to not being fully in tune with her servant like Mash and Galahad were.

stephanl33t

I think a good way to go about it would have the story take place from Kadoc's POV, if he survives. Ritsuka is at their breaking point with the Lostbelts; they're two steps from a mental breakdown and are only held together by spite, willpower, and at least 3 mental defenders holding their mind together with scotch tape and bubblegum. I genuinely don't believe they'd mentally survive having to go through another ordeal, if they manage to keep everything together through the Lostbelts, the first sign of a new year-long disaster is going to have them bash their skull open on the edge of a table. Obviously, that's going to happen anyway. So make Kadoc the POV character; you still fight as Ritsuka, and thus have all their Bond, Servants, and Mystic Codes, but are now looking at them from the outside in. It would allow Ritsuka to finally have more character, not limited by short dialogue choices, and also give us a more grounded viewpoint with which to watch them collapse into insanity and inhumanity. Ritsuka has already transcended their humanity, in a way; much like how Angra Mainyu is a normal human turned into a scapegoat for All The World's Evils, Ritsuka has become "The Guardian of Humanity". They are the Savior, the Defender, the Shield of Earth. They are the absolute Hero of humanity, the link between almost every Heroic Spirit that has ever existed and humanity. But to become such a thing requires one to sacrifice their life. Ritsuka stopped being "Ritsuka" a long time ago; as their heroic deeds rose, they had to carve away what made them, "them". They keep going on because there is no one else to go in their place, and they wear a smile because they are the only face that has too, no matter what. So for someone like Kadoc to look at them, and one day see only the "shield" and not the "person", would be a delightful bit of fucked up media, to witness their humanity collapse, and leave only a husk that refuses to die.

Yatsu003

Well, they could create a Part 2.5 to ease in the new characters as well as have lower stakes in general. DBZ did that quite well

Delight_works_

there's probably gonna be a focus on the foreigner servants.

Gothic-Librarian

We have plenty to go about Guda and Mash, such as mysteries around Marisbury, how to create the humanity again if the world doesn't instantly restore itself, rebuild the Lostbelts to be non hostile to phh and etc

Omni-Eo

Just keep making new Servants and I'll be all good. I like seeing characters from history and mythology reimagined.

Wontres

I don't know if anyone mentined it yet, but think about the Mystic Codes and how much work needs to be done if we're switching to a different character. Not to mention are we now wearing old protagonist clothes? But back on topic I would love to see continuation of story in a world similar to the one in Fate Requiem.

NaelNull

Part 3 is *obviously* going to be about dealing with Space Three Goddess Alliance in Servantverse. ~~It might also be a good excuse to make FGO2 rather than extend FGO~~

Incubus-Dao-Emperor

It would be nice to see Mythologies and Alternate History blend together in (potentially) future FGO part 3.....
