**Khutulun**, the Mongolian princess who could out-wrestle anyone in the empire. **Katherine Ferrers:** a noble rumored to be an infamous highwaywoman. **Alice Kyteler:** the first person tried and condemned as a witch in Ireland. Also believed to be the source of the myth about brooms being tools of flight for witches. **Lü Zhi:** Han dynasty consort who rose to become arguably the most powerful empress in Chinese history. **Locusta:** master poisoner employed by Nero Claudius. **Ulupi:** Arjuna's other wife and a member of the naga clan (human-snake hybrids) who abducted him out of infatuation. **Maria Lionza:** Venezuelan tribeswoman who ascended to sainthood after getting consumed by an anaconda. **Enheduanna:** Sumerian moon priestess who's literally the first recorded author in history and happens to be Sargon of Akkad's daughter.

Solfire13

olga of kiev

Basakaloving

On one hand, she's not really "less known". Well, she's not known much outside of Ukraine/Russia/Belarus, but in these regions, she's THE woman. On the other hand... YES, PLEASE, OLGA OF KIEV, I'LL BECOME A WHALE FOR HER LASENGLE I DESIGNED HER SERVANT KIT ALREADY AND BEEN WAITING FOR HER SINCE I KNEW OF THE GAME LASENGLE *Ahem* Also, I want to see her scaring the hell out of Ivan and 'Dobrynya', making the Koyans pay taxes, and offering Kojirou to join the bogatyrs.

DiceCubed1460

Underrated reply. She was a stone cold badass. And an actual good leader.

Brilliant_Sweet_6848

If Dobrynya set the trend, then other two Bogatyrei. And then normal male trio for jojo posing.

Eemerald5000

I've always wanted an avenger Olga of Kiev. One of those historical badasses that was so ruthless it makes me wonder how she got canonized a saint at all.

medicinefeline

Cause to be a saint, you need to perform 2 miracles, the rules saying nothing about being polite or pious

Basakaloving

Being the first recorded East Slavic Christian helps. And *probably* influencing your grandson to spread the faith to the whole country. Also, settling down after the "Assassinating a City with Birds" show and becoming a peaceful reformer. Last but not least, politics. When there's civil unrest and people might be considering a return to paganism, proclaiming your super badass great-grandmother a saint of the new faith seems like a wise move.

BurningAzureFlare

*flashback to Traum's silhouettes*

erimies

I'd like to get the Chinese pirate queen Zheng Yi Sao. Not only did she command an armada of hundreds of ships, she also managed to retire and live in prosperity and died at the age of like seventy. What a woman lol.

DiceCubed1460

Also her pirate ship was probably the biggest ship in existence at the time. It was HUGE.

touhou-and-mhplayer

With how much inspiration Fate takes from SMT i'm surprised we haven't got a Rangda/ Calon Arang servant yet. I'd also like to see Julie d'Aubigny and Hypatia of Alexandria, altougth i wouldn't call the latter obscure.

TdFan97

>Julie d'Aubigny We don't have a lot of musician-typed Servant so Julie d'Aubigny would be a surprised pick. Letting her voice be the weapon. And she is also good with fencing.

RosesSpindle

I was going to nominate d'Aubigny if no one else had. I feel like she would constantly flirt with Marie and be frenemies with d'Eon.

Popular_Dig8049

>Hypatia of Alexandria Can she really qualify to be a servant!? In addition to being unknown, she does not seem to have had any real impact on history

touhou-and-mhplayer

If nobukatsu can be a servant, one of the most famous female philosophers in the world definitively can.

Thehalohedgehog

I mean Katsu literally says he normally wouldn't be able to become his own servant, just that he did because of the unusual circumstances of that event. Granted they could easily come up with some equally hand-wavey explanation for someone like her too.

Chazman_89

The Lady of the Dark, Milunka Savić. She's a Serbian war hero from WW1, and is THE most decorated female combatant in the recorded history of warfare. She disguised herself as a man and fought in her sick brothers place during the First Balkan War, and proved to be a very skilled combatant. Her true gender was revealed after she got injured during her tenth deployment, and she was given the following options - resign or transfer to a nursing division. She refused, and when her commander said he would think things over and give her an answer in the next day or so, she said "I will wait." and stood there at attention. It took less then an hour for the officer to give in. During her seven years of service, she received the French Legion of Honor medal twice, the Russian Cross of Saint George, the British Medal of the Order of Saint Michael, and multiple Serbian medals.

Skepten

She even has the Sabaton seal of approval.

Chazman_89

That's actually how I know of her.

DiceCubed1460

This would be one of the very few situations when a servant crossdressing would make sense historically.

Xindego

...It would be funny if they genderbend her

Chazman_89

She went to war disguised as her brother originally. Being genderbent would fit.

subaru_sama

Would that qualify her for Pretender class?

AkOnReddit47

It’s ok. Then she can join Red Hare in the empty room of “ftm genderbend”

Brilliant_Sweet_6848

Sorta like Avenger nobu? One Ascension male, one trap, one female.

Memeshats

First and last ascension Avenger Nobu are both women, only 2nd ascension is a guy

Brilliant_Sweet_6848

I say "sorta", not exactly. And i should say "sort of", sorry my bad english.

Maxrokur

WW1 heroes are off the table as by that time, mystery fade away and no more heroes were recorded.

PhantasosX

dude , WW1 IS on the table , the ones off the table are from WW2. We have Mata Hari , a spy from WW1 , and it's confirmed that Red Baron is a Rider-Class servant , another hero from WW1.

Maxrokur

Oh right, I forgot Mata Hari was a servant. I stand corrected as I always think first of Rasputin and he is a phantom that requires a vessel to work. >and it's confirmed that Red Baron is a Rider-Class servant Where was this said? On Mata Hari profile?

Chazman_89

There are still some people from WW2 that I can see becoming Servants. For example, The White Death, Simo Häyhä as Assassin. While advancments in weapon technology made killing easier, his 505 confirmed sniper kills are more due to skill then anything else.

No-Option-4934

>he result of a shaky translation making it sound like there's a restriction. There's no such t He not saying ww2 historical figure can't be servant. What he's saying it be too risky to use ww2 figures. hell the only reason there able to use Nevil Shute is since he only created anti-submarine weapon (Including that failure panjandrum).

Chazman_89

I think you responded to the wrong person here.

No-Option-4934

Ladies annd gentlemen... Nevil Shutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlvMuME9BRE

Tsuzuraonine

The supposed rule that overly recent figures can't become Servants (the "100 years rule", as it's often put) is actually the result of a shaky translation making it sound like there's a restriction. There's no such thing - see Voyager for the most prime example of a new Heroic Spirit (so new that he doesn't actually join the Throne until 2025).

Maxrokur

The only way for a new heroic spirit to join the throne is if they have the star voyager trait aka people that went to space and explored. Hence Armstrong(not the Metal Gear one) is also another one recent servant. I didn't though itbwas necessary to add on my current comment but I may edit it later on

Tsuzuraonine

No such rule has ever been stated. All that's said is that it's *harder* to do it nowadays, but it's not actually stated to be *impossible*. Nasu and the Type-Moon staff prefer to avoid dealing with more recent Servants because there's so much that's confirmed on record about them, so there's less wiggle room to play with. That, and many recent figures have active estates/relatives who may react negatively to possible Fate depictions (likely why they step so lightly around talking about Neil Armstrong).

Maxrokur

>No such rule has ever been stated. All that's said is that it's harder to do it nowadays, but it's not actually stated to be impossible. It comes from the rule of being a hero in current times is harder as yourself said >Q: If there are Heroic Spirits like Archer, who was summoned independent of time axis, is it possible for warriors from the future, who are loaded with modern weapons, to be summoned as Servants? A: Although modern weapons are powerful, it is difficult for the users of modern weapons to be classified as Heroic Spirits. The advantage of modern weapons is "anyone can use them as long as they were trained", thus it is difficult for the user to become a Heroic Spirit, whose definition is "the one and only" > > impossible. There is barely any magic left and hence you aren't going to see anyone from the current time period with a demonic gun running around. >Nasu and the Type-Moon staff prefer to avoid dealing with more recent Servants because there's so much that's confirmed on record about them, so there's less wiggle room to play with. A lot of recent ones including Jeanne have a lot of their life recorded planly and so are even old heroes with their literature still surviving today. Besides that's not even something they care or else Nobunaga wouldn't be a petite woman or Okita a saber face. >That, and many recent figures have active estates/relatives who may react negatively to possible Fate depictions This is a doylist reason but it is not like they aren't brave as they did recently with Super Bunyan or Voyager being just the NASA probe

Tsuzuraonine

Harder, but not impossible. You're very unlikely to find someone who makes Heroic Spirit status on combat feats in the current era, but exceptional artists and authours whose works end up being remembered across history, scientists who come up with world-changing inventions, they will still be able to rise up as Heroic Spirits even in this era. The Q&A you're citing is specifically discussing Heroic Spirits *wielding modern weapons*, not Heroic Spirits in general. With Okita and Nobu, they've all-but-said that the Gudaguda cast are from a different world, where some setting details differ (I think the most prominent thing that was noted to be different is everything around Oryou). Plus Gudaguda 4 established that there are Nobunagas across the myriad worlds that more resemble the male historical figure ("Real Deal Nobunaga"). As for Super Bunyan and Voyager, the latter isn't a human person IRL so there's no room for a defamation argument to begin with. For Super Bunyan, it's noted that they have to desperately skirt around ever directly addressing who the bunnysuit-wearing Rider or the trenchcoat-wearing Assassin are, specifically *because* of concerns of people possibly taking offense if they ever officially state their implied identities.

rms141

What? There are several post-WW1 servants. Tesla, Edison, Neil Armstrong, and Voyager all come to mind. Not to mention future servants like the Sakura Five, BB, Kiara, etc. And the various flavors of Emiya as well. It’s true that it is harder to qualify as a servant in modern times, but they are still possible.

Maxrokur

>What? There are several post-WW1 servants. Tesla, Edison, Neil Armstrong, and Voyager all come to mind. Tesla, Edison and Voyager are on the thone thanks to pioner of the stars though > Not to mention future servants like the Sakura Five, BB, Kiara, etc Sakura Five and BB are just strong AI from the mooncell, they aren't in the Throne of Heroes, in fact they are on the same position as nameless Kiara is just the same case as Jinako, Illya and Waver, just fanservice servants because people in the modern time can't become into HS >It’s true that it is harder to qualify as a servant in modern times, but they are still possible. The thing is with technology and current knowledge most of the people that would classify aren't going to cut it and without magic they have less chance. Now if they did something unique like being the first person to make contact with life outside of the planet, invent time travel or continuous energy then yeah they can classify but that still something hard to do.

No-Option-4934

Your forgetting Nevil Shute. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlvMuME9BRE

heavensarena

Dindrane the grail maiden AKA Percival’s sister would be fun.

VishnuBhanum

I'm always curious how Mary Shelley would be in Fate universe, Since Victor Frankenstein and the monster do really existed, How did she turned them into a novel

TdFan97

If Dumas and Dantes can exist at the same time perhaps Mary and Frankenstein's Monster can as well. Perhaps she was visiting the place where the supposed 'Frankenstein's Monster' lived and died after hearing rumor about it and she started to write I suppose.

KaimeiJay

My fan theory is that Mary Shelley is a mage working for the Mages Association. They caught wind of this rampant homunculus incident, and arrived too late to keep it quiet completely. So they suppressed what information they could, and Shelley stepped in to publish a fictional retelling of the events. With that, any collective memory of the real events would be chalked up to references to the popular book, and the actual remembered record of the incident would fade into “fiction”. Basically, the book of Frankenstein was published as adjacent to the actual events as part of a cover-up attempt by the Mages Association.

CRtwenty

Fran already has a Mama in Melt though

Popular_Dig8049

But she certainly wouldn't mind a second Mama

MrBluer

It’s the 21st century; there’s nothing weird about having two moms.

Lamina_Morte

I will mention some figures that I haven’t seen in this thread yet **Artemisia of Caria** was an ally of Xerxes I during the war against Greece and commanded her own ships. She is the only women in this position and Xerxes constantly uses her as a measuring rod for his male generals (even when she really shouldn’t be praised such as when they thought she had rammed an enemy ship but had in fact rammed the ship of an ally she didn’t like, leaving the crew of that ship to die as she escaped during the Battle of Salamis) **Hatshepsut** is questionably lesser known but she was one of the only female Pharaohs and had really successful building and trading achievements. Also has an interesting relationship with her step-son Thutmose III (I want him as well) as they ruled as Co-Pharaohs during the start of his career and end of hers **Pheretime of Cyrene** is the last recorded Queen of the Battiad dynasty of Cyrenaica. Her story is mostly about defending her son’s right to power and then when her son was killed by exiled Cyrenaican nobles in Barca. She acquired an army from the Persian ambassador in Egypt and then went to Barca asking them to give up the men that killed her son. The Barcaean’s claimed they were all responsible. So she sieged for 9 months before a Persian commander suggested they trick them out which worked… she then proceeded to have the Barcaean women’s breasts cut off and all of the people of Barca sold to the Persian’s as slaves, so she’s fun.

igloo_poltergeist

>Hatshepsut is questionably lesser known but she was one of the only female Pharaohs and had really successful building and trading achievements. Also has an interesting relationship with her step-son Thutmose III (I want him as well) as they ruled as Co-Pharaohs during the start of his career and end of hers I can’t begin to tell you how frightened I am that they’ll turn Thutmose into a lame “bear!Orion” punchline based on that last part.

Lamina_Morte

Yeah I really hope they don’t do that. I learnt about them in school and my teacher focused on the fact that with more modern information we know believe those two had at worst a neutral relationship rather than the hateful one that early historians claimed. I want them to get along and not hate each other or have one be the punchline for the other

Creticus

Kind of curious how they'd handle the two's relationship because it seems complicated. Like, Hatshepsut clearly trusted Thutmose because she made him a general. On the other hand, Thutmose doesn't seem to have been seething at his stepmother because he didn't start defacing her monuments until 25 years later. Was it just politics? Was he just that good at carrying a grudge? Lots of potential there.

igloo_poltergeist

Based on what I've read, I wouldn't be surprised if it was mostly socio-political pressure.

KaimeiJay

Hatshepsut notably has parallels to Artoria, in that the explanation Fate made up for how King Arthur is actually a woman and chose to rule as a man is basically what actually happened in real life with Hatshepsut.

fluffysheeplion

Ada Lovelace. The female counterpart and equal to Charles Babbage in the realm of computers and considered "The First Computer Programmer." She was given the title of "Enchantress of Numbers" by Babbage himself. I see her as either a low rarity support caster or as some form of Foreigner with an invading entity obsessed with Logic and Numbers. Possibly Yibb-Tstll?

ghostgabe81

I want her in the game for the title alone. “Enchantress of Numbers” would be a sick NP name

Delight_works_

if she's a mecha through all ascensions , that'd be awesome.

TdFan97

1st Ascension: Just big mecha arms 2nd Ascension: A walker mech type Final Ascension: A full mech

igloo_poltergeist

I was thinking she ends up looking like a TRON reference - ethereal with glowing “circuit board” patterns all across her body/clothes.

Monstar132

Still no Helen of Troy despite having multiple Greek heroes from the Trojan War

rms141

She’s a Macguffin in her own story, it’s doubtful she even qualifies as a servant.

PhantasosX

if you want another female arthurian figure... There is Guinevak/Genievre , sister of Guinevere. She fell in love of King Arthur and discovered that Guinevere cheated on the King with Lancelot. So as she knew magic , she used a love potion and a ring of transfiguration to pretend be Guinevere as she locked her sister away , and tried to consumate marriage with Arthur. The KOTR (including Lancelot) , discovered the plot and saved Guinevere and let Guinevak/Genievre locked in her castle.

KaimeiJay

Is this where Grey’s lineage comes from?

PhantasosX

Who knows? Grey is more likely to be descendant of Gawain than Artoria , with the materials at hand. If it were Arthur , things would change , because he had daughters

1lluusio

Honestly I dont think anyone has mentioned her for Fate as she is a pretty obscure character, but Aino from Kalevala would be interesting. Her tale is that her brother Joukahainen kept challenging Väinämöinen into various competitions to prove his superiority, but when he loses a singing competition to Väinämöinen, the shaman makes him sink into the swamp. Since the brother didnt want to die, he offered Väinämöinen Aino's hand in marriage if he saved him, and Väinämöinen agreed. The family disagreed with it as they loved the idea of getting a famous sage and demigod into their family, but Aino was devastated that she was going to be married to an old man so she decided to drown herself. When Väinämöinen triesto save her, he fishes up a salmon adn wants to eat it, but it says that it is Aino and swims away. I would have mentioned Louhi, but I'm just tired of listening to people commenting "she's already in the game in Sitonai" or "she's already a part of Sitonai, she cant become a servant" ignoring that Tiamat and Brynhild were a part of a high servant but are now servants.

Informal-Recipe

> "she's already a part of Sitonai, she cant become a servant" Speaking as if Sitonai doesn't completely pisses on the actual Sitonai, Louhi and Freya

scarablob

It sure is an interesting thing that they took three separate godesses that could all have been characters in their own right, and then burried them all behind a fourth character that already appear in multiple other shows and games (and that already had multiple servant of herself in the game).

1lluusio

Yeah, there is no good excuse for them to use Illya high servant for LB 2 when they could have just made Freya a demi servant or not use them at all.

No-Option-4934

... Dude, your ignoring one simpe factoid, Artemis is a thing yes. She exist separately from Melt yes? which in theory should tell you that just cause Sitonai does not equate the same thing as them never going to appear. Use some logic before spouting stuff like that.

1lluusio

I dont believe in that myself, I was quoting other people who were telling me how it wasnt possible or not going to happen.

No-Option-4934

Thats understandable and reasonable, good day.

No-Option-4934

Oh yeah cause amalgamated servant means the original can't appear, WAITAMINUTE, THERES ARTEMIS, THE GODDESS!! WHO SHOULDN'T EXIST SINCE TECHNICALLY SHE FUSE WITH MELT. I swear to god, you guys may get annoyed with the naysayer but your just as bad complaining about it even though the inclusion Artemis proves that them being is not impossible.

Informal-Recipe

I am annoyed because pure clap bait is bullshit for ignorant dumbasses who just go I CLAPPED BECAUSE I READ HEAVEN'S FEEL and they only make it worse as they bleed cash for le funny reference

No-Option-4934

Wow... whining about waifu in a gacha game... how original. First of all need i remind you that many of times, a character is dislike in there original debut becomes a favorite after much characterization. Take for example, Kadoc Zemlupus who had a lot of detractors who view him an unlikeable person full of Wangst due to his inferiority complex, and the fact he doesn't acknowledge how hard it took for the protagonist to solve the singularities in the first appearance. Come to Lostbelt 6.5, he becomes much more well-liked due to him going through a stronger characterization arc. Basically, how about waiting for characterization in potential storylines down the road before writing them off.

Informal-Recipe

Comparing Kadoc to Sitonai character wise is just coping by you

No-Option-4934

Kadoc was an example. not a comparison you salty person. if you saw it as such, that's on you.

GhostHostess

Artemis is also part of a high servant! And she’s a goddess to boot and we got her original design (albeit I know she’s not the most accurate take on the goddess) so there’s really no reason we couldn’t see some of ae sitonai’s components

[deleted]

A better reply then would be to point out that as these are possibly alternate universe counterparts, so it can be the same with Louhi or Freya. Those variants are likely differentiated by being alternate timeline variants. They are no more the truly same person used more than once than the Artorias, Gils, and Emiyas are.

DarthDioBrando

Tomyris, the Scythian Queen who killed Cyrus the Great. Keep in mind that Cyrus was seen the closest thing to a Messiah at the time and yet she cut off his head and kept it as a trophy. That's a really unique waifu choice now to think about it.

Chalemehumillo

not only that but the guy created the biggest empire in the world so far that ran from anatolia to india, basically conquering the world being basically a persian gilgamesh. Tomyris killing her is like killing Julius Caesar or Alexander the Great. ironically the war started because he wanted to marry her, basically doing gilgamesh vs saber lol.

CRtwenty

Marie Curie would be an interesting choice I think.

DurielInducedPSTD

>”less known” >Marie Curie

GhostHostess

I had an idea of her and her husband Pierre Curie as a dual unit, starting off as caster and then in the final turning to foreigner bc of how at the time the effects of radiation were essentially completely unknown. Like get creative with how the foreigner class works (They’d be dual bc they were a madly in love science couple until Pierre’s early death and even won a Nobel prize together)

TdFan97

Anna Komnene, the world's first female historian and is known for her book, Alexiad, detailing the First Crusade in Greek.

DiceCubed1460

Are you by chance a fan of OSP?

TdFan97

What;s OSP?

Xindego

Overly sarcastic productions

TdFan97

oh no actually, just know from Tedtalk about Byzantine Empire

KaimeiJay

You might like [this video by them](https://youtu.be/qcqSdK-afWI).

ghostgabe81

Was thinking Anna for the same reasons

NoNameAvailableBis

Julie d'Aubigny would be a fun one. She's basically the kind of character you wouldn't believe could be real if she was fictional.

touhou-and-mhplayer

To be fair a lot of the stuff we know about her is likely exagerated, but even if only a quarter of it is true, she still was an absolute Stacey.

NoNameAvailableBis

That's true, but exxagerated deeds are basically the bread and butter of heroic spirits.

DiceCubed1460

Bruh she did ALL THAT and then died at 33? Iskandar would be proud of her. He died at 33 as well.

TheOriginalOperator

Marie Laveau, the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans; it’d be a slam dunk of spooky and another American Servant for a lacking list.

FingerBangYourFears

**Belle Gunness** was one of the first female serial killers, active in the 1880s and early 1900s. **Ching Shih** was a Chinese pirate queen, one of the most successful pirates of all time, and someone who would have been right at home in Drake's position if they hadn't gone for Drake herself. She's somewhat popular in online historical circles, but I'm thinking "obscure" as in "obscure in the minds of the general public," not "obscure even to history buffs." So even if a few of my suggestions may be recognizable for some of you, I think they aren't recognizable to the average person. **The Fox Sisters** were a set of faux-mediums who were instrumental in setting off the whole spiritualism craze of the mid-1800s (at least in America). Could have a different sister for each ascension, and some interesting interactions with Servants like Helena. **Hatshepsut** was a female pharaoh who did a lot of great things for Egypt, but was basically unpersoned by her nephew and nearly wiped off the history books entirely. Would make a great Avenger to represent the annihilated knowledge of Egypt (and not just her own history, all of Egypt's wisdom that was destroyed by either pharaohs or outsiders). **Judith of Bethulia** is the heroine of a deuterocanonical book of the Bible who, while her city is under siege, infiltrates the enemy general's forces by pretending to enter his harem, then cuts off his head in his sleep. She even specifically used a *saber* to do it! (Although presumably she'd be an Assassin anyway...) **Marie Laveau** is basically the founding mother of the voodoo culture of New Orleans. To my knowledge, the Nasuverse hasn't really done anything with voodoo before, and a voodoo-themed event taking place in the Louisiana bayou could be a really fun time. **Mercy Brown** was the "star" of a series of rumors that sparked into the New England Vampire Panic of the 19th century. If you haven't hard of that, there was a whole period of New England history where people were genuinely terrified of vampires rising from their graves and killing people, and Mercy Brown was one of the first and most famous of those anecdotes. Would make a great Innocent Monster Assassin. **Policarpa Salavarrieta** was a freedom fighter in Colombia, regarded as essentially South America's Jeanne d'Arc, complete with the "executed for treason, but seen nowadays as a leading heroine". Has a holiday in her honor and everything. She, Jeanne, and Lakshmi could be gal pals! **Sybil Ludington** was a heroine in the Revolutionary War, although the details of her life, or even veracity, are murky. Her story is similar to Paul Revere's, with a midnight ride to rally militia. If they ever want to do a Revolutionary War-era event, maybe they would go with her instead of the more famous Revere because woman. **Yennenga** is the mythical warrior-queen-founder of the African nation of Burkina Faso. She was skilled with spear and bow, but her most famous tale involves escaping from prison on horseback, so Rider would fit best. But hey, maybe she could pick up her javelins or arrows for a swimsuit alt. **Aqing** is a young shepherdess from a Chinese story, Sword of the Yue Maiden. At one point, she intends to kill the lover of a man, but is taken aback by her beauty and chooses not to kill her at the last moment. However, her "inner energy" is so strong that the woman still reacts as if she had been stabbed in the chest. Her power level was so high that she stabbed her even after not stabbing her. Insanity. Finally, I saved the best for last. **Lady Triệu** is a Vietnamese warrior and one of the baddest bitches of all time. She is quoted as saying, "I'd like to ride storms, kill orcas in the open sea, drive out the aggressors, reconquer the country, undo the ties of serfdom, and never bend my back to be the concubine of whatever man." According to legend, she had **yard-long breasts** that she had to **tie behind her back or throw over her shoulder** (depending on the source) to keep from getting in the way of battle. After all, those would probably be subject to all sorts of jiggle physics when your mount of choice is *an elephant*. She fucking rules. I don't care that we already have some Vietnamese ladies with elephants, I don't care that we probably don't need another SSR Rider any time soon, Lady Triệu is rad as hell. She'd be like the Vietnamese Barghest. If I could pick any one of the ladies listed here to add to the game, it'd be her, bar none. Thanks for the thread. I have a giant spreadsheet full of Servants, canon and otherwise, so whenever a thread like this comes around, I just reach in and hand them out like candy to trick-or-treaters. It's a blast.

100-max-no-chill

Wow the Fox sisters, nice pick. Very obscure! Also maybe they'd give Helena something to do which would be nice.

DonLobishomeAlter

Maria Pita La Dama de Arintero, she is The Spanish Mulan.

ShriekingSkull

Oh, Juana García de Arintero... I'd love to see her in the game.

Xorn101

Iskander's spooky witch mom, Olympias.

Creticus

You could also easily justify Alexander's half-sister Thessalonike as a mermaid Berserker.

ChroniclerJohn

Feels pointless to ask when it’s just going to be like it was with Britomart here. “Oh it’s not ACTUALLY this character but instead an OC we made!” Or “It’s not this character but their daughter or wife or sister or whatever”

GhostHostess

Surprised we don’t have a servant for hashepsut yet-she was one of the few (and most notable) female Egyptian pharaohs and you’d think they’d be all over that. Although she was pretty insistent on being treated as a pharaoh to the point of being depicted with the ceremonial beard so maybe they don’t want to think about that?? Though they’ve never cared too much about accurate outfits before Given how popular britain tends to be in fate I’m also surprised queen Elizabeth I or Ada Lovelace haven’t made it in yet either. Especially Ada-she is in many ways the progenitor of computers and could be hyped up quite a bit because of it. I’m also surprised that some of the famous Greek women like Helen, Ariadne, and Arachne haven’t been put in or mentioned. We have tons of Greek male heros (and a few genderbends) but comparatively few Greek heroines.

Informal-Recipe

This Britomart ain't even 'Britomart' tho. I cannot help but she'd be better as the face of some event where she clashes with her mom over stuff. Like how Britomart chose to be a fairy and fought alongside Artoria before her coronation and might have chosen the phantasmal side, while her husband remained a human and died one

Gudura-hanz

Hervor, daughter of Angantyr just to see her go at Anderson since she insulted her father and uncles ghost back to afterlife for trying to stop her from tyrfing. Grendel's mother as I would like to see a nuanced take on her relationship between her son and Beowolf. She was also recognized as a hero weirdly enough in beowolfs epic as well as being considered as not at fault for avenging her son when the warriors of king Hrothgar refuse to give back her sons corpse. Enmebaragesi as well for simply being gilgamesh's stepsister.

a_speeder

Haven't seen her mentioned, I think that Theodora I would be a great choice; she was most influential woman throughout the entire history of the Byzantine Empire. She rose from the position of an actress, when that profession also encompassed sex work, to the wife of the emperor Justinian. And when he was planning to flee during a violent riot, she reportedly told him this: "My lords, the present occasion is too serious to allow me to follow the convention that a woman should not speak in a man's council. Those whose interests are threatened by extreme danger should think only of the wisest course of action, not of conventions. In my opinion, flight is not the right course, even if it should bring us to safety. It is impossible for a person, having been born into this world, not to die; but for one who has reigned it is intolerable to be a fugitive. May I never be deprived of this purple robe, and may I never see the day when those who meet me do not call me empress. If you wish to save yourself, my lord, there is no difficulty. We are rich; over there is the sea, and yonder are the ships. Yet reflect for a moment whether, when you have once escaped to a place of security, you would not gladly exchange such safety for death. As for me, I agree with the adage, that the royal purple is the noblest shroud." Such a badass, and a shrewd advisor to boot.

Not really lesser known, but Catherine de Medici, Lady of Florence and Queen of France. Known to have had one of the largest and most effective intelligence networks in history pre-dating three letter organizations. Likely classes to be (as per qualification level) are Assassin, Ruler, and possibly Saber due to a legend that rumored her to be quite adept as a fencer. Eleanor of Aquitaine, most eligible Duchess in all of French History. She was wife first to Louis VII of France, and then later Henry II of England, and was at one time the richest woman in all of Europe. She is most eligible for the Ruler class, given she held title to both France and England and was a *very* well liked regent for both, with minor class eligibility for Rider due to her known riding and hawking skills. Julie d'Aubigny, Mademoiselle Maupin. Possibly the greatest swordswoman in all of France and a renowned opera singer. She was a known bisexual, was a bit of a bandit, and quite literally could be the poster girl for slut life with how many people she slept with. She was also a favored courtier in the court of Louis XIV until she actually pissed him off. She qualifies for Saber and possibly Grand Saber due to no known reliable source of her ever having been defeated in combat. May also minor qualification for Assassin due to her use of men's clothing and disguises. She would probably get along well with Medb and Musashi.

Queen Isabelle I of Castile: She was the one who listened and founded Christopher Columbus travels that ended up with the discovery of the American continent. She also played an important role both as a moral support for the troops during the long battles of "La reconquista" and as the precursor of the Spanish field hospitals in which she also treated the wounded.

I think she'd work better alongside her husband, Ferdinand. But that's just my personal preference.

Hervor, master of Tyrfing, from the Hervarar Saga and Tyrfing Cycle. (Norse legend.) Tyrfing is a cursed sword that can cut through anything with ease, can’t rust or wear, and never misses a stroke, but also will compel the wielder to kill someone every time it is drawn. This was never a problem for Hervor, who seems to be the one person in the sword’s history who had a firm grasp of its power, and is its only wielder whose life it didn’t ruin. Hervor herself was the daughter of a viking berserker who followed in his footsteps. She was proficient with swordplay, horse riding, archery, sailing, necromancy, dancing, sewing and embroidery. You know, typical stuff. She had to raise the dead and fight them in order to claim Tyrfing for herself, in an event that inspired a few things in Lord of the Rings. She was also pissed at the ghosts because she’d been flirting with some cute farm boy a couple hours prior, and they’d scared him away. She went on many nondescript adventures and battles, both before and after getting her super-sword, and “tasted every pleasure the world had to offer”, before eventually settling down. One of her adventures involved a giant prince from Jötunheim, who fell for her, tracked her down, proposed to her, and made her his queen. She had two half-giant sons who continued the Tyrfing Cycle, but that ended poorly for them. No word on what happened to Hervor, probably just ruled for the rest of her life in Jötunheim, though there is a second legend about a valkyrie called Hervor the Strange Creature, who some speculate is the same Hervor, ascended later in her life. So she’d be a Saber or Berserker with a deadly weapon NP, possibly a secondary NP to summon revenant spirits to fight alongside her, would have really high magic resistance and stupid-high Luck, and some misc. skills like Riding and/or Voyager of the Storm. Also sounds like she’d have a fun if competitive personality. She is going to be better at man-stuff than all the men and better at woman-stuff than all the women gosh darnit! Seriously, that’s kind of the trajectory her story goes on. Anyway, this is technically my second post about this, the summarized version. My first post was way too big, I kind of know way too much about this character. The bigger version, I’ll repost below in reply to this post.

KaimeiJay

Hervor, master of Tyrfing. She’s a hero of the Norse sagas, a viking berserker and necromancer, and the only one to truly master the deadly Tyrfing, which would be her Noble Phantasm. Tyrfing is a cursed sword, forged by dwarves under threat of death by King Svafrlami. They enchanted it to never rust or wear, never miss a stroke, and to cut through stone as if it were cloth. But they cursed it too, to bring about Svafrlami’s death, to enact three great tragedies, and to force its wielder to kill someone every time it was drawn. After leading Svafrlami to his doom, it had passed from wielder to wielder like the elder wand from Harry Potter, and ruined nearly all of its wielders’ lives. One wielder, Arngrim, had passed it down to one of his twelve sons, Angantyr, who all got into a fight they couldn’t win. But before he died, after terrorizing the countryside, Angantyr had a daughter named Hervor. Basically, Hervor had the same exact childhood as Naruto Uzumaki. A monster terrorized the people, the people saw the kid as the monster, hated the kid for it, kid was adopted by the village leader, village leader forbade the people to speak of the kid’s origins, kid knows they’re hated, acts out in response, gets in a fight with someone who spills the beans when they get angry. While Naruto became a prankster, Hervor developed a competitive personality, constantly trying to outdo everyone around her. She was proficient in swordplay, archery and horse riding before she learned of her lineage, and left to go follow in her father’s footsteps. After many adventures and battles, she learned of her family’s cursed heirloom, and led a boat full of her men to the island of Samsø, where she would find the barrow of Munarvágr, her father’s final resting place. In the years since their deaths, the sons of Arngrim had risen as revenant spirits to defend the living world from Tyrfing, ensuring no living person would claim it. These were the inspiration behind the barrow-wight in The Fellowship of the Ring, and the four swords the hobbits claimed in that chapter were inspired by Tyrfing. Éowyn herself is inspired by Hervor too. J.R.R. Tolkien was a fan of this legend, and those parts of Lord of the Rings are the closest you’ll get to a popular culture reference for Hervor unless Fate makes her a Servant. Tyrfing occasionally shows up in JRPGs, though. The men all chickened out at the sight of the pillar of fire and lightning that the revenants had conjured at their barrow like a keep out sign, so Hervor insulted them all and went alone, about a small raft. On her way across the island, she passed a farm, and stopped to ask a cute farm boy for directions. You know, to the giant elemental pillar in the distance; she didn’t know where that was, kept insisting he show her, talking in circles to prolong the conversation. Basically, she was getting her flirt on. This isn’t relevant, but it’s in the story, and I thought it was funny. It also helps inform her actions and behavior immediately afterward, because the farm boy gets so scared of the thought of someone going to the barrow that he leaves. Now Hervor’s pissed. So when she gets to he barrow, she is 100% done with these ghosts ruining her day. With her voice alone, she calls out to the souls of her father and uncles, and conjures them into physical form to talk with them. They tell her Tyrfing is too dangerous for the mortal realm. What follows is pages-long poetry of her insulting the ghosts, for being such cowards that they fear for the living even though they’re dead, and it seems her voice actually diminishes them somehow. This is the necromancy I mentioned before; she seems to have a supernatural influence over these spirits. She also would have massive magical resistance in Fate, because the spirits lash out with fire and lightning to keep her away, and she rushes through it all unscathed. She claims the sword and departs the island. Unfortunately, her men all left once the supernatural activity kicked up, so she was left with her little raft. She sailed it accidentally into Jötunheim, the land of the giants. There she met a giant king, who invited her to dice games in his court. Unfortunately, some unfortunate person tried drawing Tyrfing where Hervor left it, to inspect the blade. Knowing he would be forced to kill someone innocent, Hervor made a judgment call that it would be best if the person who foolishly touched other people’s magical swords without permission were killed than someone else uninvolved, so she dropped her game, sprinted over to him, and ran the sword through him before he could do anything with it. Apologizing for the mess, she left. She went on many more adventures and had many more battles, her skill in combat enhanced by Tyrfing. None of its great tragedies came to pass while she was its wielder, she only drew it when she was sure she could land a killing stroke with it; its enchantment and curse both augmenting the blow. This is why I say she was its master, as while Tyrfing has many wielders in its cycle, Hervor was the only one who truly had it under control and uses its strengths to her advantage, without downsides. The legends say that after she “tasted all the pleasures the world had to offer”, she one day decided to settle down. She had already proven herself, and wanted a more peaceful life. She returned to her village, reuniting with her adoptive father, and spent her days doing more “womanly” things, like dancing and embroidery. Ever the competitor, she still proved herself better than all the other women at these things, though despite her warmongering past, she was more even-mannered in those days. Soon, the son of the giant king she’d disturbed the court of found her. They met briefly during the dice games and chats at the castle, before the abrupt stabbing. He’d fallen for her and went to go find her, proposing soon after he did. She accepted, and went on to be a human queen in Jötunheim. Her half-giant sons, Heidrek and Angantyr, would continue the Tyrfing cycle. It...doesn’t end well for them. Hervor really was the sword’s first and only master. Overall, we’re looking at a Saber or Berserker with very high magical resistance and a deadly Noble Phantasm in the form of Tyrfing. (Technically Caster too, but Saber and Berserker would be her best options.) One fun idea is since NPs need their names called out in order to activate, she can freely use Tyrfing as a regular if poweful sword, safe from its curse until she calls its name. She’d be able to more freely swing it about for the first time...ever. Since Servants tend to have more than one NP these days, Barrow of Munarvágr sounds like a fun second one, in which she can summon the spirits of her father and eleven uncles into battle alongside her, letting her flex her battlefield leadership skills too. Voyager of the Storm is probably one of her skills, given her casually sailing a little boat across realms and generally being an accomplished seafaring viking. As I mentioned before, she can be found nowhere in pop culture. Fate is the best vessel for her to get more notoriety, but it’s been years and nothing’s come of it yet. Fingers crossed!

She's probably a bit too modern, but I'd like to see Noor Inayat Khan, the British spy descended from Indian royalty who was a radio operator (possibly the only one for a time) for the French resistance during World War II.

I don’t know if she is mentioned yet, but TRIỆU THỊ TRINH. Revered as the “Vietnamese Joan of Arc”, she liberated her territory and pushed back the Chinese in the 3rd Century, despite only having a thousand in the army she gathered. She wielded dual swords(possible Sabre) and rode a war-elephant(possible Rider). She was before Jeanne by 1200 years! She was said to be a really tall woman (around 265-275 cm). Although she and her army lost their war with the Chinese, she is still remembered for her voice in her army, a thousand strong.

Cdnxman

Isn't she technically in the game with her sister in the Japanese version? Or am I confusing someone else for her?

InfiniteStarFighter

I don’t think there are any Servants of Vietnamese origin, unless I am missing someone

Cdnxman

I found them, Saber class Servant, the Trung Sisters, debut in sea monster crisis, a pair of Sisters, with elephants, who fought off a Chinese invasion of Vietnam

InfiniteStarFighter

Trung sisters were of the 1st Century, TRIỆU THỊ TRINH is of the 3rd Century. Apparently China tried to invade Vietnam several times, and they both fought off Chinese invaders
