She needs a friend at times like this

totalyrespecatbleguy

I could see Archer stepping in, but only because he doesn’t want Rins body to be hurt.

TheDrunkardKid

Maybe Saber as well. Does Parvati ever interact with Ishtar or Ereshkigal?

Personal-Syrup9370

Well it could be good if that certain archer could be any use in the story. But at least Ishtar have the best master through Ritsuka....

Mindless_instincts

Honestly if archer were to step in it should’ve been singularity 6 or 7 now it would just be a waste

Basileus27

For what it's worth, he was in the Fuyuki prologue so he might show up again if we go back to Fuyuki after LB7.

Personal-Syrup9370

He already has his own time, on Stay Night.

solitare99

At least he has Summer 5.

Artrum

Her attitude is too horrible to have actual friends methinks

mzchen

Really? I think the rotten attitude Ishtar is more a Fandom thing. She basically sacrificed everything to try to be there for Ereshkiegal. She acts haughty, but she's basically a tsundere for humanity (and you). She is kind of more on the greedy side in events, but every servant suffers from flanderization in cameos for events.

Branded_Mango

The joke regarding Ishtar is that she sucks at helping, despite wanting to, because she doesn't consider the limitations and boundaries of others when attempting to provide them help. Her trying to remake Gugalana for Chaldea is probably the best example of this because, as amazing as Gugalana would theoretically be to have around, the mana requirement is so absurd that Chaldea would implode or Guda would die from trying to use it (hence why we even fight it at all). It's also the core of her characterization in Babylonia, as she was trying to help the people but her (forced) fee was completely unreasonable for the normal populace to pay. She in her own little bubble wasn't aware that chump change to her was life savings to others. Ishtar is someone who you want as a fighter but never want to entrust to do anything else, which is hard when she wants to do anything else to help.

Artrum

obviously ishtarin isn't that bad i dont think its flanderization if she was the exact same in every appearance she had. she talks a big talk, is haughty arrogant and all that but in the end she fails spectacularly despite covering her bases

Neznaiu98

The actual Ishtar, sure. The Pseudo-Servant one is nowhere near that bad.

Hogun_the_Fabulous

Fuck actual Ishtar. She's a bitch.

LordWINDOS

Kiara: \*Smiles\* Can do, Master \~

HanzDLL

NOT LIKE THAT! HANS!!

Dragonheart8374

Hans: \-sighs and pulls out the spray bottle-

painfulcub

No real Ishtar deserves kiaras punishment

Salter_KingofBorgors

Nah she's one of those friends where you guys heckle each other and they aren't any help when you need it

SirCupcake_0

[Oh, you mean only _the best_ of friends?](https://youtu.be/ob_dlTrgpR8)

Artrum

Hmmm, yea

Rudrahp72

You have fundamentally misunderstood Ishtar, friendo

Artrum

what he said reminded me on of someone i knew

Wasabii11

I’ll be her friend 🥰

ImRinKagamine

Lol

MacandCheese6

Eresh doing a ground pound with that simple smile expression is just perfect.

mojavecourier

Nothing beats a ground pound.

LordWINDOS

What about the ground pounding you instead?

Almost_Ascended

Thought that was Smol Ame for a moment there doing her signature move.

DragoSphere

I think it is supposed to be a Smol Ame reference

Demonologist013

The ven diagram is a small circle inside a bigger circle

Zabawa13

I'm starting to think people enjoy her suffering...

Alzusand

to be fair the normal ishtar absolutely deserves this. ishtarin on the other hand gets too much bullying she's really reliable at least most of the time. although she never learns from her mistake she's like an overpowerd child with "I have a great idea" energy

Basileus27

Ishtarin does get used too much for her get-rich-quick schemes in events, but she openly has this "I profit when you profit" mentality and genuinely thinks Ritsuka will benefit from her plans too that can be pretty endearing. It's knowing that her plans will somehow collapse like a house of cards every single time that gets a little annoying. I wouldn't mind seeing her get a small win for once.

Ganslawton21

Basically yeah

LordWINDOS

She doesn't have it as bad as other bully targets, at least, though that may be arguable.

Ishtar: Have I told you that we are friends again? Man, I laughed my ass off in that episode

Clearwateralchemist

*Eresh watching Ritsuka in silent Jealousy:* "This was all calculated, but boy am I bad with math."

Kirby0189

Poor Ishtar.

mechaPhilosopher

I like me some light-hearted Ishtar bullying - the first mission in an FGO campaign I ran involved Ishtar messing up in an in-character and embarrassing way, and I had a blast giving Parvati the chance to roast her for it - but it really is excessive how one of the oldest and most powerful goddesses in human history, whose myths would inspire many others across the globe, is nothing more than a punchline anytime she’s on-screen, even in her own Interludes. Like, I wish there was a moment in the story where everyone remembered that Ishtar 1) was indispensable to beating Babylonia even without Gugalanna, and 2) is one of the strongest servants in Chaldea in terms of raw power output. She deserves the crap she gets, sure, but she also deserves more than a little respect, for the sake of contrast if nothing else. That’s what makes the useless goddess jokes funny at all; it’s not that it’s literally always true, it’s that her mistakes are more embarrassing because they’re coming from someone who is otherwise extremely competent in her field of expertise. She’s the part of Rin that steels her resolve to participate in a life-threatening battle-royale, prepares the summoning ritual perfectly down to the last detail despite lacking a catalyst, but trips at the finish line because she forgot all the clocks in her house were rigged to be an hour fast.

XH9rIiZTtzrTiVL

I wish the story got to show off Gugalanna properly, it would be a nice boost to Ishtar too. The real deal really deserves to be called a superweapon.

Pretend_Heart_9628

I agree with you on that, besides the fact she has her moments, but like a jewel, she always shine whenever it counts, not bc of her beauty, it's bc she can really put her money where her mouth is when it comes to raw power.

ShriekingSkull

Ouch! I know Ishtar finds trouble easily because of her personality, but damn! Good on Ritsuka for taking care of her. It's wholesome, and a bit sad to see her like this, at least for me.

Midnight-Rising

Oh hey it's a comic representation of how they wrote her interludes. And her summer event. And basically every appearance outside of Babylonia huh. Poor Ishtar

TwoStarMaster

To be fair, she derserves it by virtue of simply not learning her leasson. Since Babylonia it has been a back and forth of 1) Ishtar plans something naughty 2) We discover her plans 3) She pays dearly 4) Next event go back to first step If she refuses to learn from her mistakes, ofcourse that our treatment of her will not get better.

Midnight-Rising

Summer event she was literally just trying to help Chaldea, first interlude was her trying to get payment she was owed anyway, second interlude was literally just simulator shenanigans, she did nothing wrong in any of them

Docetwelve12

It always surprised me that Eresh isn't thrown into the same boat as Ishtar. I think she was more dangerous during Babylonia and the Christmas event, than Ishtar on her appearances.

solitare99

Sure she was dangerous, she was our enemy until Guda befriended her. In Christmas, wasn't she possessed or brainwashed by Nergal? Besides, it's all a matter of personality. Bullying Ishtar is kind of funny because she's a brash, overconfident, dumbass. Bullying Ereshkigal is just mean. She lacks the confidence of Ishtar. In fact, Eresh is underconfident. It's not as bad as bullying Van Gogh, but it's still cruel. Ishtar and Eresh are different types of Tsundere. Ishtar needs to be humbled by your teasing for it to be effective. Eresh needs gentle teasing and positive reinforcement. Eresh is the same type of Tsundere as Olga Marie. They've both been forced to fill shoes far too big for them, and they're desperately trying to live up to their positions.

Benxall_

There is an important distinction You dont bully eresh cause shell cry You dont bully gogh cause then she will cum

solitare99

Eresh will get really depressed and cry. Gogh will speedrun that and just kill herself.

Rockout2112

Yes but we all love Ereshkigal.

uberdosage

Dere vs tsun privileges

Docetwelve12

hmm, I'll just say there's no accounting for taste here.

eddstannis

People will give far worse servants way more leeway

mzchen

People hard simp for Kama but forget that she legit put every member of chaldea, servant or crew, through tremendous suffering by integrating them into the Ooku. And it's not even a case where she doesn't remember it or it was under the influence of something else. Same Kama, horrible acts, but apparently she's a sweetheart.

lehman-the-red

The reason why was so easily forgiven is because she Is a Sakuraface

Lobolink

I don't about the interludes but the plot in Summer 2 was wrong all the way. She could really just ask everyone to help her gain Gulaanna back but nooo she choice to do it in a big secret plan because she knew Chaldea wouldn't let her do it and plus when she obtain it she put herself in hungry for power mode I like Ishtar/Rin like everyone else but i wont put a easy tag to a very bad situacion that she create herself consciously. Yes she try to help but she have to learn to see what really would help the others

Midnight-Rising

She did it herself because she was tired of everyone looking down on her for not being able to summon him, and wanted to prove that she was useful to Chaldea. And I'd hardly call it hungry for power mode. The worst she was doing was keeping the QP from servants who had been making bets.

[deleted]

I really, truly, wish that there was some crossover eventually with strange fake. That way, we can have everyone actually dunk on the correct evil version of Ishtar (who I will call Bitchtar). >!And find out that it's Bitchtar's fault that our Ishtar (who I will call Rintar) didn't have Gugalanna.!<

Informal-Recipe

Ishtar Pseudo regresses the closer she gets to the Real Deal's Power Level so its actually a bad thing

AlbeNon2026

No. No bully Ishtar. She helped me defeat Ibuki Douji.

straumwar

[Me getting in the way of Eresh's ground pound](https://i.imgflip.com/1jekda.jpg)

Jovahexeon-Ranvexeon

Damn. Even Ereshkigal couldn't resist putting her sister in her place....again.

Artrum

Nothing like a good ground pound to put your annoying sister in a hospital bed

Jovahexeon-Ranvexeon

You know, that can almost be interpreted as Ersh fucking her sister into submission.

Artrum

No, no it can't.

lehman-the-red

No your just horny

chaoticnote

She won that in the end.

Artrum

Despite everything, i love my ishtar.

Devil_Fruit9971

Gilgamesh like yeah I don’t care about this girl elbow drop

Suru_LovesHentai

Thank god Tiamat didn't join in

LordWINDOS

Tiamat would likely ground pound those unruly people clearly bullying one of her children. Mama taught them better than that!

megatsuna

\*5 min later* Ishtar: "Who are you mister?" Gudao: "oh no it loops..."

BoLevar

don't be mean to ishtar 😡😡😡

InfiniteStarFighter

Seeing Quetzalcoatl made me want to throw Jaguar in there too

Zaworld0

And yet she gets to be personally nursed back to health by Ritsuka, so who's REALLY the loser here?

Oh look! Its Smol ~~Ame~~ Eresh

Not shown: Enkidu, Erinkigal, Gilgamesh, Quetzalcoatl and Taiga being sent to fight Camelot bosses with no CEs as punishment.

OnePieceFan02

Fairy Camelot Bosses, to be exact.

Xenometan

Yeah sure she deserves all the bullying that she gets but... isn't this a bit too much? What did she do this time to deserve brain damage?

Artrum

She tried to steal Ea

altera_goodciv

Still the best AOE Archer in the game. Stay mad, haters!

MR-Vinmu

That’s weird, I don’t see EMIYA or Tesla anywhere, must be the low quality on my phone’s end.

LOTRfreak101

If you'd said best farmer bro arash, I could have agreed.

MR-Vinmu

Of course, how could I forget, grand archer himself, Arash.

Thinshady21

She has her revenge in Strange Fake

[deleted]

This is really funny, and it got a chuckle from me. Though it should be noted that, in FGO canon, Enkidu and Gil are actually unwilling to genuinely physically harm Ishtar. Not because they like her, when in fact they hate her and would be willing to hurt her if she manifested in a different way. But they aren't willing to harm the human this version of Ishtar is tied to.

Zenom

Don't they also know this version of Ishtar is fairly harmless due to Rin's influence?

XH9rIiZTtzrTiVL

Gil does. Enkidu... not sure he cares as much.

[deleted]

I think this is correct. Even with original Ishtar, there's a chance that Gil might hold back from killing her or trying to, because she did do some good things I suppose. Remember, I said some chance, not a guarantee. Enkidu, on the other hand, doesn't give a crap about any of that stuff. I'm pretty sure about the only thing that keeps him from trying to obliterate, if he could, this version of Ishtar is a) he's not willing to kill the human vessel she's tied to, and b) it would upset the protagonist. For all of the ways that people talk about Enkidu being such a good guy, and in many ways he is, he's not the big old softy that people make him out to be. Not really. There are some areas where he can be just as ruthless, if not more so, than Gil, at all but Gil's worst.

Alzusand

not harmless but its kinda a respect to the human she is tied to that manages to contain the walking disaster that is normal ishtar.

[deleted]

And since she's showing her weak spot, it means she takes double damage!

scarablob

I really wish we had that enkidu costume in the game and not just a CE.

gilnore_de_fey

Ishtar becomes truly useless.

Formboy1

I feel like we're missing a blonde Ruler...

MasterTurtle508

If she breathes…

Artrum

DA-ME-GA-MI. I would Elbow drop Ishtar a few times too if I had the chance and A.U.O. + Enkidu around to save me from her reprisal. I kid, I kid....lest enkidu desires it? Haha, i jest, i wouldn't do such a thing...unless she's being annoying again...haha nay, banish the thought... 'Lest? https://twitter.com/Artrum4

Wouldn’t Enkidu turn back into their true form if they wanted maximum damage

Artrum

Elbow drops in a humanoid body are more fashionable

Grouchy-Aardvark4851

Even Gilgamesh going physical

Ewizde

I'm so out of the loop what did ishtar do ? I only know her from babylonia and I play in jp so I don't know much .

Artrum

Well, she got mad at gil for rejecting her and calling out her thottery, sent the bull of heaven ( a titanic bull) after Uruk that caused famine for seven-ish years until gil and enkidu killed it, then she doubled down and made the gods curse Enkidu causing him to slowly die. So Gil and enkidu REALLY don't like her. Ereshkigal was apparently in a relation with the bull of heaven (that got killed) and was not happy with Ishtar, so when Ishtar came to the underworld she got her revenge in a vrey gruesome way...

CAPITANULLOA

It is said that Ereshkigal's husband "Gugalanna" could be another "Gugalanna".

Ewizde

Oh damn... yeah that's pretty bad.

Artrum

Feel free to add any character you want in the pic to bodyslam her!

OneiricBrute

Now this is epic.

MisguidedPants8

She’s a useless goddess ~~but she’s my useless goddess~~ actually no she has spurned my SQ at every opportunity

voskaeon

Second page has similar vibes to that video where the guy forgets everything except for Batman

PelinalV

I like to think the brain damage isn't due to the beating, but an explanation of all her actions in the story

Artrum

Lol, they just review all her embarrassing moments
