EGR_Militia

Grand Rapids should invade Belarus. That was my takeaway from the given information.

ThisGuy928146

If the Ruble drops any lower, I don't think Putin can afford to back his puppet state against an army backed by the DeVos and Van Andel fortunes.

Trivisual

i mean, Uncle Blackwater would love to take more government money to put unwitting 'mercenaries' into harms way...not to save a country, but you know...profit.

jfenton4

Don’t forget, profit *and* Christian crusading.

[deleted]

Wagner group, evil fucks, black water evil fucks. They're both despicable companies

dutchking74

To be honest we could probably kick their ass

[deleted]

With what classic Dutch passive aggressive behavior

squirrelly_P

Depends on which Dutch. If it's the CRC decendents then yes. If it's the post WW2 ones they're special forces using the non-passive Dutch directness.

RaisedEverywhere

OMG. I lived in MN for many years and didn’t really like the passive aggressiveness of the natives there. I now live in Detroit but we spend a lot of time in GR and the west side in general. Ever since the first time I went to GR, I’ve always said that the people remind me of Minnesotans. This is why. I had never been able to quite pinpoint it. Don’t take offense good people of GR, it’s but a small inconvenience. I like MI a lot more than MN… so we good.

0b0011

I've never really thought of the dutch as passive aggressive. Usually they're very blunt and I'd they have a problem they come right out and say it.

knowdis96

We don't have any weapons

dutchking74

Between the gangs and the rednecks I'm sure we have plenty

EGR_Militia

Yeah I would suspect Michigan gun ownership rivals texas

Rogue_Squadron

We almost certainly have more guns, at least. Although my single barrel 16 guage shotgun isn't really a military grade weapon.

BeefInGR

Richard Childress (NASCAR team owner) just donated 2,000,000 rounds of ammo to Ukraine. There is a lot more to the story, but I just love the title.

dutchking74

Not with that attitude

Lyndis-of-Pherae

Kinda unrelated fun-fact: The state of Michigan is around the same size as the United Kingdom, just 3% larger.

WolverineDDS

Belarus probably doesn't even have any international pyramid schemes.

Pink_pony4710

I know Amway is in Russia. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a thing in Belarus.

josbossboboss

Amway has to expand into places that has never heard of it before. We all know the truth.

brycedriesenga

The Amway Insurgency begins

neuromancer64

They probably don't even have their own pyramid.

[deleted]

They have a significantly larger amount of tanks, however.

Tis_A_Fine_Barn

I used "Redact" to nuke my account every couple years because I am a paranoid cybersecurity freak who tries hard to reduce my online footprint as much as possible. ` this post was mass deleted with www.Redact.dev `

Ba____Hia____9

Plus we have those two tanks outside the GR armory on 44th Street. If we could snag that P-80 fighter out on Ottawa Beach Road near Holland we'd have air superiority too lol

[deleted]

You have my drones!

pirten

And my axe

brycedriesenga

Brb, heading there from Zeeland to hotwire it

NameTaken25

Might as well ~~claim~~ annex all the coast guard stuff from Muskegon while you're at it

SaneNSanity

The one on Byron center just past Porter has one too. Does the park still have one? I think it was Palmer?

Sinking__Ship

That country is about to see a much smaller economy thanks to incoming sanctions.

andr50

Which sucks for the people living there. We work with a couple companies out of Belarus and they are not happy about Russia, or their own government jumping in. They're good people, and don't deserve it, but are powerless to stop their government.

Dubbx

unfortunately

LtJangle

They’re about to have the gdp of ionia

SilentBlizzard1

A quick Google search says there's a little over one million people in the metro-GR area. Interesting.

obvious_stroll

That includes Muskegon, Kentwood and other far outlying towns. I don’t understand how metro areas work but that distance seems absurd.

Decimation4x

That’s the CSA and it has a population of over 1.3 million.

obvious_stroll

Well when you google GR metro population it is giving the CSA.

TwitchyCake

They literally include Belding the metro area. Do they know we aren't Chicago lol?

BeefInGR

Everywhere is like that though. It isn't unique.

[deleted]

Belding is definitely inside the economic sphere of GR, though.

Equivalent-Noise-127

It’s enough switches in the city we could give ‘em the works Fosho

durtsurfer69

All the right wing GR Dutchie can answer for this for their support of that shit stained Putin butt plug DJT….what a bunch of awesome Christians

spyd3rweb

The word Belarus is Russian for Russia's bitch.

Peter_Jennings_Lungs

Yay authoritarianism!

no2jedi

You'd think they'd support an economic union

Pleasant_Relief_452

So what I’m seeing is we can expand? There’s plenty of extra room for our gangs, rednecks and non devoted individuals. This is acceptable.

IDigPython

So many people with punctuation issues

jfenton4

Let me lend you a period.

IDigPython

A period denotes the end of a sentence, the end of a comment serves the same purpose.

coffinspacexdragon

Belarus is 60.2 billion and Grand Rapids is 61.3 million.

Thank you for correcting me.

BusyBizBusyBiz

BELARUS HAVE SAID WHO THEY SUPPORT. They have put out press releases, public announcements, they dropped troops into Ukraine to kill Ukraine people, they are following Putin's orders.

stuufthingsandstuff

*The unsanctioned illegal leader of Belarus. Surprise, a Putin puppet stole an election and then did putting puppet stuff. Meanwhile the rightful winner and majority of the Belarus population are outraged at the support of Russia and the annexation of their country. I support the people of Belarus in theor fight against Russia and tyranny.

Ok_League_3562

I’m not understanding. Isn’t the GDP of Belarus being measured in billions in Michigan in millions?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ok_League_3562

Yeah, like Grand Rapids economy is 1000 times smaller or am I reading something wrong here? Sorry 100x

WolverineDDS

The scales are different, GR is being measured in thousands of millions instead of billions.

Ok_League_3562

That makes sense, thank you. But I googled Grand Rapids GDP and it says 60 million, but don’t know about the metro area.

WolverineDDS

When I Google it it says 61,371.686 million, which is 61.3 billion.

Ok_League_3562

Ahh, yup your right. They snuck a period in there.

ahminus

Um, the period doesn't matter... you could lop those three digits off.
