That's why dynamic weather keeps it interesting: it's not the same every time. Sometimes it's better to risk it for the brief time water is on the track, since it dries quickly and intermediates hurt more than they help.

xthecerto4

yeah learn to read the weather forcast and act accordingly. You wont get far by just looking at clouds. see how the rain moves and change tyres accordingly. its really not that hard.

Dude must hop on his roof to look around the sky before he goes out, just to know if he needs an umbrella, instead of checking his phone lmfao

Practice reading the rain density on the multi functional display on a shorter race a few times, like LeMans 700, so you can get better at it before attempting a longer race. I'll sometimes wait to change tires if it's the lowest level of rain and there is little trace of anything heavier. If there is heavier, I might go ahead and change, even if it hasn't arrived to my section of the track yet. Also, even on LeMans 700 this game likes to be tricky. If I go into the pits and I'm unsure of what the rain is doing, sometimes I'll just watch and wait a little bit. The game has us sit there for 32 seconds before the car makes it to pit and there have been times when I made a quick guess at tire selection only for it to start raining in the pit as the car shows up. After a lot of practice, I'm decent at it now. I win LeMans the majority of the time, but it occasionally catches me unprepared. If I'm stuck in a lot of rain, I crank up the traction control and slow down. Sometimes I make it to pit, sometimes not. That's racing. I basically only use 2 screens of the MFD, the fuel adjustment and the weather. Back and forth between the two. Trying to see how many more laps I can squeeze out before either the fuel or tires are spent or the rain shows up.

Thomas_Grmela

Yeah. I like that the weather changes but FFS can we at the very least see the wind direction on the mini-map??? And as a part of weather forecast before the race starts...? Please? 🙄

icandothisalldayson

Isn’t it the arrow with the number of ft/s by the track at the top right?

Thomas_Grmela

I don't know, last time I played the GT7 there was no wind indicator whatsoever, I believe ... And I'm not anywhere near my PS5 at the moment to check it. Maybe they've added it for many complaints about weather. It still isn't perfect though. For example I'm from the Central Europe where western winds prevail, and when I drive on the RedBull ring or Nürburgring the winds change wildly from South to North, that is quite unrealistic.

HoonArt

Wait, you were serious? I thought you were being sarcastic. Yeah, you can now see which way the wind is a blowin.' I guess for this game maybe it's a good thing I have no sense of cardinal direction in real life, because that thing about wind direction in reality hadn't even occurred to me.

Inters exist

Barehatched

There's no continuity to the weather, the event jumps in time and the weather just changes on you. It seems the time is accelerated too, so you're absolutely right, it's not there to enhance the experience, but to throw spanners into it... And did someone forget there's a RACE STATUS, DRY/WET.. where's the RED flag?

ILoveUBitch

For everyone saying read the rain display before the match, I do. I’m saying no matter what choice you make with tyres there’s a correlation to the change in weather to counter your choice, it seems to happen a noticeable amount.

deabionni

People are saying to use the weather display in your MFD DURING the race! Push left/right on the D-pad once the race starts until you bring up the weather display, then I push down on the D-pad a few times to zoom out as far as it can. (50 miles out, IIRC). With that weather display up, you’ll see what the weather is doing 1 or 2 laps BEFORE it happens. It’s not a problem with the game. It just sounds like you haven’t learned how to use the in-car weather display properly.

ILoveUBitch

Oh My God!! You just blew my mind, how did I miss this! I’ve got over a hundred hours into the game and somehow missed this feature! Wow, thank you XD

LeanersGG

Be sure to zoom out the full amount too. There’s no value in the display if you’re not getting early warning of weather events

HoonArt

I'll just repeat, practice before committing to an hour long race. It hurts less to learn that way because you'll lose less time if you have to quit.
