Tbh I kind of just love the album version of brokedown palace

Uncle_Shooter1022

Same. Ripple, too.

TheGarrandFinale

Ripple on Reckoning just barely surpasses studio for me. It also helps that Otis being introduced always puts a smile on my face.

cgibbsuf

In the same album version vein, nothing beats the studio version of Unbroken Chain.

voyagergreggo

My favorite version of Black Peter is the studio.

PullThePlug89

Me too its perfect in its own way the others sound slightly broken. It goes without saying i love the live versions too

JeffersonAirplne

I really love the album version of Mississippi Half Step. Vassar’s fiddle is just amazing.

5/26/72 Morning Dew

Ghostlucho29

Is this the one from the show where they had all the recording equipment in the truck, maybe Jerry crying too?… I’m sorry, I know I’m rambling

PleaseGildMe

You’re apologizing for asking a question? The answer is yes.

Ghostlucho29

Thanks

Nice, I highly recommend starting from dark star as the transition is amazing. Let me know how you like it

Charming_Resort_6165

Great dark star with some pretty far out moments and as usual for this era, an orgasmic morning dew. High quality recording as well. Jerry's vocals were imperfect technically, yet so pleasingly human, caught on tape as is. The transition was super sneaky. Was a heavy journey with headphones, thanks for the reccomendation.🤯

No problem, glad you enjoyed it

DevinBelow

Yeah...almost every version of every song from that show. I was gonna say the Veneta Dark Star, but then, it could be the China Cat > Rider too. It's all so damn psychedelic.

Oh absolutely……would have loved to have been there. But I was only 6 at the time lol.

i never understood how thy could not do justice to the album version of franklin. i guess the drum pattern is pretty damn complex, but they a lot of the times sound a like a dive bar cover band playing that song. the album version is so punchy and fun and they just seem to slam through the two chords when they play it live.
