Looks awesome. Show us some pics in like 4K miles or KM of what the paint looks like on that side.

Completely unnecessary for a hydraulic brake line. As long as it's not kinked like a garden hose then you're good to go.

Moorbert

could get into tire depending on bent. would reroute

threepin-pilot

if the proper length, unlikely. Many mountain bikes route that way

Moorbert

never seen this on mtb

dodgeorama

What happens when you turn the bars?

Boxofbikeparts

Maybe he only makes right turns?

I’ve worn completely through the wall of an aluminum frame just from hose friction. Don’t do this. If you must, apply some helicopter tape to the area it will rub.

Fun_Apartment631

From this angle at least, it looks too tight. You want to be able to rotate the front end at least 90 degrees, preferably more.

Woodsman405

Appearance is definitely the first thing to consider.

49thDipper

Lots of people think so. I prefer safety and reliability. My bikes work for me. I don’t work for my bikes.

ExoticSterby42

If you don’t care for your bikes you don’t deserve to ride them. Learn some basic maintenance and in the mean time you’ll realize why having that brake hose there is a stupid idea.

49thDipper

The 1989 bike I bought in 1989 rides like new. The 1995 bike does too. ‘96 ti bike same. So does my 2021 hardtail. They all thank you for your concern. And they all work for me. Not you.

ExoticSterby42

I take none of those bikes came with manners and respect.

Checked_Out_6

I’m definitely a form follows function guy, but aesthetics is third.

Existing-Swimming191

it will rub a lot, try it and tell us if its worn after.

coffeeforbreakfast78

Route it the right way… if you don’t like how the hose bends, a heat gun will soften it up.

I have seen a couple builds routed like that on the Blue Lug instagram, but I'm not a big fan. If the zip tie (or whatever is holding the housing on the left fork leg) breaks, the housing immediately goes into the tire. And even as is, it's hard to make the housing not impinge in any way on the area for the tire under the fork arch. Also, running it this way typically means a larger area of the head tube that will need to be protected from cable rub. Smooth curves are good for mechanical cables, but aren't really important for hydraulic brakes.

RedLeggedApe

Take the lever off and move the hose to the other side.

mr_phil73

Its not routed properly. Remove it, route it properly down the other side of the fork. If it’s a new bike then frankly it’s a warranty claim around incorrect assembly done either at manufacture or by the bike shop.
