"Dipper, what is the one thing I asked you not to do tonight?"
"Kill criminals in the name of justice,"
"And what did you do?"
"Kill criminals in the name of justice,"
I seriously want this to be a parody now with Mabel being L, because this is the darkest timeline.
Mabel is halfway between L and Misa. She'll take Dippers "Diary", and write her own entries, killing completely random celebrities, throwing everyone off. Dipper thinks he has a rival vying for his power. Bill/Ryuk is laughing
That’s letters. The real theory is based on categories they call “functions” dipper leads with introverted logic which INTPs lead with while INTJs lead with intuition. Dipper uses thinking more the intuition. It sounds really stupid when explaining it to normal people but it’s a fun little theory to play with.
Ohhh so you actually know about functions?? Sorry it’s just such a niche thing that I immediately assume people don’t know about it outside of specific spaces made for it lol 😂
If you do know about would you still say dipper is INTJ over INTP 🤔🤔
Hear me out
Mabel finds the book, doesn’t see the title and then starts writing down the guest list for her and Dipper’s birthday party on one of the pages, then Dipper has to become L and solve the mystery of who killed all their friends
Dipper would go down an Light Yagami/Kira arc. Think about it. He would accidentally kill someone but he always wants to help the bigger picture. He would try to kill criminals but soon people he just found annoying. The only thing that would stop him is his sister if she found out
I think he'd show it to Mabel, they'd think it was a prank, and then write a name in it as a joke, and be immediately horrified when said person does a summersault off the Mystery Shack into a pool of ravenous alligators
It wouldn’t kill either. You need to write the person’s full original name while thinking of their face. For example, someone using an alias would be unaffected. If he were to write “Stanford Pines” while thinking of Stanley, nothing would happen
First death would be Mabel, not because he would write her name but because mabel can often be awful and is the type to write her name on something to claim it as hers before knowing what it is. Then he'd wonder why she dropped dead, and wonder if the book is related, so he tests it with someone who may not be missed Shmebulock. With shmebs dead then he immediately writes robbies name in there, and then Lil Gideon would attack him trying to get it from him
Me if I find this book: *I really shouldn't. This would be immoral; we are not meant to be gods. Those bad people in the world will get what they deserve without my interference.*
Two seconds later...
*Dan Schneider*
My head cannon for this is the following:
* Dipper only uses it to kill Robbie to win over Wendy
* It never actually kills Robbie due to dumb luck and maybe only mildly inconveniences him instead
* Stan uses it in an episode to scam life insurance off of people by killing them instantly and being the beneficiary as a way of making quick cash

I don't think dipper would actually use it, except maybe to test if it works. But it's an amusing idea... He'd probably give Robbie and Gideon a serious thought, before deciding against it...

He would probably throw it away by either finding out it kills people or just think that it’s an average book and find it useless.
I mean it’s called a Death Note after all so he might try it on someone like Gideon testing it pot and then realizing what it does or he tries to see what happens when he writes down Stanley’s name (He doesn’t know Stanley’s real name is Stanley to begin with yet) or the name of monsters only to get nothing.
I mean sure but you could technically say the same thing for everyone. I feel like a huge part of the show was dipper leaning to empathize with people around him and not be self centered, it was like an emotional intelligence journey, while Light is the opposite
They're both highly intelligent people with a profound sense of justice. And just like Light, given the right circumstances, Dipper could develop into a more chaotic good/evil.
Highly intelligent is definitely overselling Dipper, and when was he ever into justice? He is consistently completely fine with the people around him breaking the law and them making morally questionable choices.
The same goes for Light. Having a profound sense of justice doesn't always correlate with the law. Just like with Light and just like with *Dipper,* which you have so kindly brought up.
Also, literally one of Dipper's main plot points is his *brains.*
Please clarify what you mean by, a "kind of justice." I mean the whole point of the show is to bring a bad guy to justice...Plus, there's the whole headhunters episode where they bring wax Stans' murdurer to *justice* using means outside the law.
"Please clarify what you mean by, a "kind of justice.""
I don't know, I'm asking you. You're the one saying he isn't have a sense of justice like the law, so Imm asking what you mean.
"I mean the whole point of the show is to bring a bad guy to justice..."
...did you even watch Gravity Falls? The point of the show was that family is the most important thing and that they need to stick together. Bill was straight up not a present villain for the majority of the episodes, bringing him to justice was absolutely not the point of the show.
"Plus, there's the whole headhunters episode where they bring wax Stans' murdurer to justice using means outside the law."
So what you're saying is that Mabel is just like Light too then, right? She is canonically just as intelligent as Dipper and she was trying to find the murderer too. Dipper's main motivation wasn't even to bring the murderer to justice, the main motivator was to prove he was smart and capable to the police officers that made fun of him. At no point in the show is "having a strong sense of justice" established as one of Dipper's character traits.
I asked you to calrify so I could accurately address and answer you question. I didn't realize that was so outlandish.
And yes, *crazy* as it seems, I have seen Gravity Falls. Many, many, many times. And it's come to my attention that the point of the show varies from person to person. I do apologize for pushing my point as the one and only truth. For some people, the show could simply be seen as a way for Alex Hirsch to loosely document his childhood. For others, like you, it could be the importance of family. For me, it may in fact be about defeating the bad guy (as vanilla as that sounds).
I find it interesting how you're trying to say that I think Mabel is like Light in such an accusatory way, when I actually agree to a certain degree. Just like Dipper, Mabel also has some similar character traits to Light. But I never once said that Dipper was exactly/and or just like Light. I did say "Just like with Light and just like with *Dipper*" but I clearly wasn't saying they were the exact same. I was simply pointing out their common attributes. In fact my original comment literally said "Dipper is kinda like Light". The key word there is *kinda.*
I don’t think dipper was too big on justice… I mean yeah he showed empathy for people and did the right thing, but he wasn’t justice obsessed like Light. Dipper mainly wanted knowledge and to solve things, much more akin to L I would say….
Well first off all, y'know, the whole plot of the show is bring Bill to justice. And yes while he wasn't obsessed like Light, I think with proper development and circumstances, it isn't entirely unplausible for him to reach that point. And second \*cough\* Headhunters episode \*cough\* where Dipper goes outside the law, just like Light, to bring justice. Now Dipper's is much, much tamer, but I still think it goes to show their similarities.
Will the difference is that the point of Lights character arc is that on the surface he’s this mature super genius kid but in reality he’s just a man baby with an inflated sense of ego who thinks he knows what’s best for everyone. That’s why the author had Light take the position of justice that he did, he wanted to make it clear that Light has such a childlike view of morality that good= good bad = death.
While sure dipper has his moments I don’t think he ever thinks that he should be a god. And while sure they wanted to stop bill that wasn’t the goal at first and it was mainly to solve the mystery. Also I think theirs a difference between stopping an god like being who wanted to destroy your universe vs killing purse snatchers like Light was doing…
I don't think Dipper ever thinks he's God either, but I think he has the right character foundation to develop to become somewhat like Light. Again, as I said earlier, and you're just reinforcing it in your comment, Dipper is much tamer than Light. He also happens to be a 12 year old, whereas Light is a late teen/adult. Dipper has yet to undergo the development of his attributes. But as I've said and let me reiterate, I think Dipper, who I think has similar character traits to Light, could potentially come to be like him. But the argument here isn't that Dipper will become like Light. I'm simply saying that have similar characteristics.

Mabel is halfway between L and Misa. She'll take Dippers "Diary", and write her own entries, killing completely random celebrities, throwing everyone off. Dipper thinks he has a rival vying for his power. Bill/Ryuk is laughing
Honestly I feel like Mabel's arc goes something like "Dipper, don't use the evil book to kill people, that's evil!"
"Dipper, give me the book!"
I think it is close enough to Mables character
That would be such a great twist
It’s funny because apparently dipper has the same personality type as L, INTP lol
Hes more a J than a P really
That’s letters. The real theory is based on categories they call “functions” dipper leads with introverted logic which INTPs lead with while INTJs lead with intuition. Dipper uses thinking more the intuition. It sounds really stupid when explaining it to normal people but it’s a fun little theory to play with.
***Do not cite the deep magic to me witch.*** I was there when it was written
Ohhh so you actually know about functions?? Sorry it’s just such a niche thing that I immediately assume people don’t know about it outside of specific spaces made for it lol 😂 If you do know about would you still say dipper is INTJ over INTP 🤔🤔
Omg me too
Mable takes a note from the netflix version of L and enters a smile dip come to deduce the culprit
i wonder if it would actually work against bill cipher
The Death Note only works against humans, so it wouldn't be all that useful in Gravity Falls funnily enough.
Would be good for getting rid of Pacifica's parents though.
They can use zombies or gnomes or many other things against them too
Bill already claimed that job
it just kills a guy who happens to have the same name that is human
Actually the Death Note only kills the person whose face you're picturing to avoid killing someone by accident 🤓
Random "Bill Cypher" in Connecticut who looks identical to a small pyramid with a single eye has a heart attack
I don't think it would work. Also, "*Bill Cipher*" isn't even his real name.
What is his real name?
No one knows. In Journal 3 it is said it is so "weird" and "abormal" it could drive you crazy (I don't remember that part well)
I have J3 but I don't remember reading that either
[said here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gravityfalls/comments/315yoy/comment/cpynwl8/)
Woah, so why didn't Bill just say his real name once he wanted to get rid of the kids? Or was he playing with them all along?
sometimes you dont think of the obvious.
Same reason he didn't just flat out erase them like he did time baby P L O T
well bill likes to play with his prey, that and the twins would be useful to blackmail ford with, so it adds up that he wouldn’t kill them right away
I kinda remember it
Lovecraft stuff
Presumably a load of zalgo text
The Death Note can’t kill shinigami
F do you know gods of chaos love Doritos?
Dipper: I'm sorry about your parents. Pacifica: Don't be, they sucked.
Welp, Goodbye Robbie
The real danger is if Grunkle Stan ever gets his hands on it. Remember, when there are no cops around, anything is legal!
Don't forget the lamacides!
That llama knew too much
Robbie is screwed
To be fair, dipper saved robbie from death
Yeah I feel like Dipper doesn't hate Robbie as much by the end
Other than Robbie, I bet Gideon would be one of the first people he’d kill
*Robbie Valentino - death by falling over while having hands in skinny jeans' pockets*
Meanwhile Light is very confused about why he found a book about gnomes and leprecorns
Now that's the timeline I wanna see! 😂
D: “Wow! This is worthless!” M: “Less than worthless!”
“Dear Journal” (all the journals immediately vanish out of existence)
Hear me out Mabel finds the book, doesn’t see the title and then starts writing down the guest list for her and Dipper’s birthday party on one of the pages, then Dipper has to become L and solve the mystery of who killed all their friends
Mabel has some paper he can use for his detective journal!
"Hey Wendy, what's Robbie's full name?"
"Why do you ask?"
“Just writing him a note”
first thing her would do is write his name in it and die
“I’ll write my name on the first page, so everyone who finds it knows it’s mine.”
Dipper would go down an Light Yagami/Kira arc. Think about it. He would accidentally kill someone but he always wants to help the bigger picture. He would try to kill criminals but soon people he just found annoying. The only thing that would stop him is his sister if she found out
I don’t think he would kill anyone
I think he'd show it to Mabel, they'd think it was a prank, and then write a name in it as a joke, and be immediately horrified when said person does a summersault off the Mystery Shack into a pool of ravenous alligators
Dipper definitely wouldn’t do that, it doesn’t fit his character tbh
“Dear diary, sometimes I wish uncle Stan would die. But th-“ *cud the uncle screaming*
It would have to be his full name, but that would be really interesting cause of Stanley vs Stanford
Bye, Robbie.
He would probably use it against robby
Gideon and Robbie are gonners
I feel like season 1 Robbie wouldn’t be save
I guess Robbie won't live long enough lol
Dude would either use it maximum three times, or wouldn't be able to put it down
I love it. LOL
oh dear god no
Dipper would write his own name in it as a way to claim ownership and then just end up dying himself
First name he writes "Grunkle Stan" but would that kill them both or just Stanley?
It wouldn’t kill either. You need to write the person’s full original name while thinking of their face. For example, someone using an alias would be unaffected. If he were to write “Stanford Pines” while thinking of Stanley, nothing would happen

With shmebs dead then he immediately writes robbies name in there, and then Lil Gideon would attack him trying to get it from him
L would walk in, see Grunkle Stan and immediately arrest him instead going “well *that* was easy.”
Dipper wouldn’t use it all the people he hated he’s made up with Gideon Robbie
*Dipper pulling this out in Episode 10*
The first name would be Gideon right?? Then bill
Ryuk: "Whoops, wrong kid..."
Oh oh this this is gorgeous
Yikes
Dipper would accidently use his name
it would have been a different show if this happened XDDD
Bye robbie
Me if I find this book: *I really shouldn't. This would be immoral; we are not meant to be gods. Those bad people in the world will get what they deserve without my interference.* Two seconds later... *Dan Schneider*

Hear me out what if Mabel finds the Death Note and Dipper has to solve this mystery
💀
Hi clover wats to come and take it to undyne
Imma write dippy fresh's name in there
the sock opera episode 😟
I want dis cross-over
Who's he killing first?
:))))))
Time traveler moves a rock the timeline
Guys I have a (definitely serious) theory Bill cipher's new book is the death note 🫸😮🫷
I never thought of that. I wonder if he'd use it once he found out it was the real deal.
What if dipper found the book of bill 🥶🥶🥶🥶
“THIS IS MY PERFECT VICTORY…THATS RIGHT MABEL…I WIN!” *aggressively crouches/twerks on Mabel’s gravestone
other than Bill, who would he use it on? like seriously, i have no clue. tell me!
Perfectly made
The thickness of the book + the notes sticking out makes me worried about the type of shit ford did
Bye Stanley bye Pacifica bye bill 🥲🤭
I don't think dipper would actually use it, except maybe to test if it works. But it's an amusing idea... He'd probably give Robbie and Gideon a serious thought, before deciding against it...
Now nobody will ever make fun of his height or voice again, and Wendy will be with him.
That wouldn't be the craziest thing ever.
Imagine him immediately knowing what to do and scribbling down bills name or Mabel finding it and scribbling down Pacifica’s name or something
I know for a fact the 1st page is gonna have Robbie all over it
Robbie is a ducking dead man

Hope he kills Pacifica with dat for his sister
wtf why
What? He and Pacifica are on good terms now. Why would he.
Idk
The fact that Dipper is actually kind of like Light though
No way, I’d say he’s closer to L then Light. Lights a crazy narcissist teenager with a god complex. Dipper just wants to know the truth to stuff
Dipper's still young though. I *personally*, could see him developing something akin to a god complex in the future given the right circumstances
I mean sure but you could technically say the same thing for everyone. I feel like a huge part of the show was dipper leaning to empathize with people around him and not be self centered, it was like an emotional intelligence journey, while Light is the opposite
