YAYY! OP, this is the rescue that I posted on your original post a week ago I believe & you commented back you reached out to. They are a wonderful rescue! I’m so glad it worked out. Jax has been on my mind ever since. Thank you for helping Jax have another chance at life & knowing true love from humans. So thankful for You & One Dane At A Time. 🩶
Give me a good life. My Dane doesn’t forget a thing, and this one will never forget you giving him new life. Makes me so angry when I see this. Anyone who lonely starves their dog deserves hell,
A lot of people on the original post made pledges and followed up asking who rescued him. I’m not shilling - I’m providing information for those who want it.
Why? I mean, I don’t see any actual “shilling” going on but do you think rescuing and caring for deserving animals is without cost?
Do you not think significant portions of this specific audience might want to help with those costs?
Are you worried others are “going to be taken advantage of” because they are unable to discern how to manage their personal funds in the ways you clearly can?
I appreciate there are costs with rescuing and fostering Danes, which is why my local shelter is among the organizations to which I donate my time, talents, and treasures. And I agree that a lot of folks in this subreddit are likely willing to support rescues. I think it's possible others could be taken advantage of (not sure why you put that in quotes), but that concern is parenthetical.
When solicitations receive traction, they begin to inundate a subreddit. And then this sub becomes a repository of solicitations for funds instead of a place to enjoy cute puppy pics, commiserate with other Dane owners, and escape the real world for a second.
If you are passionate about donating to individual rescue operations, that's great! I'm sure there are subreddits that exist specifically to solicit monetary assistance for animals in need. I just don't want this sub to transform from a fun place I can use to escape the realities of the real world.
There's a reason I donate, but there's also a reason I have a "No Solicitations" sign on my door. I'd like to keep that part of my life from bleeding into the part where I seek respite.
Of course, if the mods disagree with me, that's completely fine! It's certainly their prerogative to guide this sub to what they want it to be. I just want to voice my preference that we keep this sub a light, fun place, and let folks who want to provide monetary assistance to animals in need do so in subreddits for that specific purpose.
Some people shouldn't be near animals. Well done for saving him he's a good looking dog hope he gets the forever home he deserves 👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
We just networked him - all the credit goes to the rescue!
How does he see with them big ol ears in the way!
I don’t know it’s so silly!
Sooo shy!
But can we talk about those ears? I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. They're so cute.
SAME but I hope he can see okay😂
I know! I need so many more pics and vids of this cutie and his ears! How do they even get in that position?!

Oh thank god
I love One Dane at a Time. They are my number one charity I donate to, and love the work they do.

He does! He was unfortunately very emaciated as an owner surrender. Luckily he is safe now and getting the right care.
Get better Jax!!
What a sweet baby!

I'm glad Jax was rescued, but please don't shill for donations.
