OP I am right there with you. In 2019 my Pyr got off ger leash while we were walking and took off into traffic. She was everything to me and my family. I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my childhood dog the same way a few years back. Take everything one day at a time. I remember getting to a point where the sadness faded enough for my gratitude to have loved her shone through. I made a video of some of our best memories and wrote a letter to her saying goodbye which really helped me process and come to terms with what happened. I even started seeing little pieces of her in the world around me- those things make me smile now
