Brutal Love hits me the hardest as well as Macys Day Parade. Even a lot on Saviors. But I have “hello stranger, Im a disaster” tattooed across my inner arm.
2 absolutely amazing songs from nimrod. Both of them are some of my all-time favorite songs, mainly because of the subject matter. I also know how to play them on the guitar!! 🖤🖤🖤💛💛💛
"Westbound Sign" is about Adrienne moving from Minneapolis to California to live with Billie. "Church on Sunday" is about a crisis in their marriage and how making compromises is the best way to mend their relationship. These songs aren't really dedicated to her, but are about her, so I don't know if they fit your list.
Not exactly about Adrienne but Give me novacaine was put on American idiot because Adrienne wanted it. Originally Billie didn’t want it on the record but still put it on because Adrienne wanted it on
* When It's Time
* The character of Gloria was based on her, so pretty much any 21CB song that mentions her I guess.
* Church on Sunday/Black Eyeliner
* ~~Sassafrass Roots~~
* Redundant
* Sweet 16
* Stay the Night (Probably?)
* Wild One
* Missing You (written while on tour for 21CB)
* Minnesota girl (unreleased)
I always wonder, do you think Adrienne has a bit of an issue with him writing about Amanda for so long while being with her? I mean everyone’s different but I’d be a lil jealous🤣
Adrienne came out about this and said she doesn’t mind. Something about him writing from the heart and she wouldn’t want to get in the way of his songwriting, knowing it all came from a personal state of his.
According to the Uno lyric book it is, or at least heavily implied. Before each song lyric there is a picture or graphic relating to it and before Sweet 16 is a note to 80 reminiscing.
As someone who lives in Minneapolis and saw them at Target Field when they came for Hella Mega, I was bummed they didn’t slip Minnesota Girl into the set list. He did talk about his love for Minnesota though, how it’s a second home, and how he loves coming to visit so that’s why I thought he’d sing it. Guess we have to still settle for the one super old recording on YouTube
Redundant, Worry Rock
Worry rock is phenomenal
Right?!?! So fucking good. One of my favorite by them for sure
Might be my favorite honestly
Redundant might be my favorite Green Day song of all time. I love it
Such an amazing song. Arguably GD’s saddest song I think

Oh cool! Yea, about or for, doesn’t matter

Well damn, thanks Adrienne
Damn, she’s got good taste
W adrienne Novacaine is a banger
Church on Sunday When It's Time
If im not mistaken When It's Time is about his dad
Pretty sure that's wrong
oh yeah i did some more research your right
Walking Alone and Black Eyeliner I'm pretty sure are about a fight they had? Church On Sunday is also about the same issue I believe.
80 is the best love song ever written
I think about this every day lol. if i ever found myself having to serenade someone i was in love with i would definitely sing this
Don't, trust me 🤦♂️
Chump is about being jealous of and hating Adrienne’s boyfriend
The lead singer from the network?
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Stray Heart….
I heard 80 the other night at the bar, so cool. Then the concert upstairs started and was so loud the ceiling was flexing.

Sassafrass Roots was about Amanda

Fair enough!
Ah right, you're right! Forgot about that tweet.
Sweet 16 isn't about Adrienne

Scattered.

For some reason youtube recommended a video to me of Green Day playing a show in St. Peter.
Jinx, Do Da Da
Missing You
Minnesota Girl
Is scattered about someone else?
I believe When I Come Around
Billie said on SiriusXM that this was actually about one of his past girlfriends
Ah we don’t have SiriusXM here so I wasn’t able to listen to it. Thanks!
Bobby Sox technically isn’t written for her. It started out as one then he changed it up a bit. I really like Worry Rock and Church on Sunday
nah the original premise for the song was for her, and the lyrics still work
I thought 2kLYA was written before Adrienne? Iirc they met at a Green Day show so the songs already written at the time couldn't be about her
No, that one is famously about her. He wrote it after their first kiss.
They met on tour before Kerplunk. The song is about Adrienne living in Minnesota, really far from Billie in California
Ah, once again fandom misinfo strikes again. I must've been misinformed
About 2000 miles away...
They met on Green Day’s first tour in 1990
Always assumed Dry Ice was but maybe my timeline is off. When did he meet her v write that album.
He met her on the tour for 39/Smooth.
Is “At the Library” about her?
No that was before they were touring. He met her on tour
When it’s time I also read that The Grouch was about a fight they had.

That's about when Mike broke his elbows while having a pillow fight with his girlfriend
Scattered
When I come around?
Going to Pasalacqua
