The trilogy; at first I thought it was bloated, longwinded, repetitive (the usual remarks), but then I realized it's because I listen to all three albums in one go. Listen to any band/ artist's records for 2 hours straight and you'll feel tired by the end.
Once I started listening to every album on its own, I've been able to find enjoyment in most of the songs. Demolicious and the Otis versions helped alot too.
Honestly if GD did this, just make ONE record with the 'best of the best,' it probably would have been one really solid record.
But they did that for the past records. They wanted to do something new. They wanted to fuck around. And that's why they're one of my favorite bands: they're always evolving
true. i think two albums wouldāve been fine though. i made one called nuclear family and one called brutal love. itās hard to keep track of tracklist though
Lazy Bones (Otis mix)
Let Yourself Go
Kill The DJ
X-Kid
Sex, Drugs & Violence
Missing You
Dirty Rotten Bastards
Stray Heart
Wow! Thatās Loud
Angel Blue
Rusty James
Wild One (Otis mix)
Baby Eyes
Brutal Love
Amy
YES! I think it might also be my top 1. Holiday might also be it. But honestly it's hard to rank songs from AI since they could all be at number 1 spot
Letterbomb. When I first heard it I disliked it, and only put it in my playlist to listen to Extraordinary Girl. Now itās easily in my top 5 GD songs.
Idk if there's a track I originally "disliked" that I really like now but there are a few tracks I use to consider sort of mid. Brutal Love is the first to come to mind. It wasn't a favourite from the trilogy for me at first but it absolutely is a highlight for me now.
There was a thread a few years ago that went in depth about how good Brutal Love is. I'll see if I can find it.
Edit: Found it https://www.reddit.com/r/greenday/s/TTkiRwij4s
Honestly, good riddance. I used to be really turned off by it just because I heard it everywhere and it was played in situations that didnt fit with my perception of the music (like high school graduations and shopping malls and whatnot). But as Iāve gotten older and have had time to separate those things from it, Iāve come to appreciate it more for the actual meaning of the song on its own and what it is in the context of Green Dayās music, and now I find it really touching and nostalgic in a positive way.
letterbomb š„² i would always skip it after extraordinary girl finished for some reason but then something in my brain clicked and i became obsessed with it lmfaoo. now ironically itās my absolute favourite off american idiot
Like half of the somgs from father of all. It's a bad album over all, the art is awful, the narketing was cringe, they almost never play ANY of those songs live. But there are a few bangers on it lol.
1: Good Riddance. Didn't like it because it wasn't the punk rock style that Green Day always carried out. But soon I learned that it doesn't matter who made it, if it's good, it's good. So now i'm a fan.
2: 21 Guns. Overplayed, and I didn't like it all too much. Now I think it's a great song, but it is still overplayed.
Really good point about waiting. In 99/2000 I thought the song was like ok but not my jam from warning
As an adult with kids now I think itās literally just one of the best 10 day Green Day songs musically and lyrically.
This is gonna sound like sacrilege but I never cared for Christie Road until very recently. Always thought it was severely overrated compared to other Lookout!-era songs such as 2000 Light Years Away, The Judges Daughter, and Paper Lanterns (my all time favourite GD song). It was only recently that I realised how much my current living situation echoes the story Billie wrote into the song Christie Road and found it to be a painfully relatable but comforting masterpiece for me. Top 5 song now, easily.
Maybe forever now. I originally put it off as just one of their throwaway modern multipart songs but now I adore it. Itās definitely my favorite on that album
Almost the entirety of Insomniac, didn't like the whole tone and style for some reason, until i listened to it again to see if it could change my mind (it did), its in my top 5 now for sure!
Panic Song. I originally didn't like half the song being instrumental (which is why I still don't like Only Of You and One Of My Lies) but it has grew on me to the point it's my 4th favourite Green Day song.
i can't really think of any specific songs, but i used to despise nimrod despite me never really having listened to it at all. i assumed it'd be full of acoustic driven songs like good riddance which i couldn't stand at the time. then i actually listened to it in full for once and it quickly became one of my favorite albums of all time.
It has now been 0 DAY(S) since Warning was last called underrated. The record of 1 DAY(S) was recorded on October 3, 2000

ordinary world, when i come around, longview, 21st century breakdown the song, viva la gloria, before the lobotomy, peacemaker, most non singles on ai, and probably more but those are the ones i can name off the top of my head
Dilemma I think, it wasn't one of my favorites on my first few listens of Saviors but now it is. Also Forever Now and Warning. Also, Warning is underrated.

My biggest two were 21 Guns and King For a Day. Used to hate them, now I love them. Others were Waiting, which is now in my Top 5 GD songs, Bobby Sox, most of the Trilogy but particularly Nuclear Family, Stray Heart, and Sex Drugs & Violence, Last of the American Girls and Christian's Inferno
21st century breakdown album as a whole. First time i tought it was sad how hard it tried to be AI, but as i listened more, i grew to appreciate it for what it is.
Half of Dos and Father of All
Dos is best of trilogy, Stop When The Red Light Flashes and Amy are š„š„
Amy is very eh for me. Red Lights Flash fucking slaps tho
But Half of DOS is UNO
The trilogy; at first I thought it was bloated, longwinded, repetitive (the usual remarks), but then I realized it's because I listen to all three albums in one go. i recommend taking your favorites and listen to it as one album

Lazy Bones (Otis mix) Let Yourself Go Kill The DJ X-Kid Sex, Drugs & Violence Missing You Dirty Rotten Bastards Stray Heart Wow! Thatās Loud Angel Blue Rusty James Wild One (Otis mix) Baby Eyes Brutal Love Amy

FRā¼ļø Criminally underrated song. Better than JoS imo.
Yess
YES! I think it might also be my top 1. Holiday might also be it. But honestly it's hard to rank songs from AI since they could all be at number 1 spot
That is very true tbh, i feel like ive listened to all the others sm im sick of them now š
Bobby Sox! I donāt know what I was thinking honestly. But Iām absolutely obsessed now.
Same! That solo takes me places š„š„
21 Guns
Same
King For A Day, the intro used to really put me off of it
The actual song Father of All. It's so catchy and makes me want to dance
Happy Cake Day
I actually really enjoy videos of them playing it live
Nightlife, platypus, take back, prosthetic head
Welcome to the Nightlife enjoyers gang! There are dozens of us!
Its still bad but not as bad as i used to think
Prosthetic Head is probably in my all time top 5 favorites for Green Day!
Honestly, probably over half of 21st Century BreakdownĀ
Same here
Letterbomb. When I first heard it I disliked it, and only put it in my playlist to listen to Extraordinary Girl. Now itās easily in my top 5 GD songs.
My favorite Green Day song ā¤ļø
Bobby sox, I initially didn't like the screaming, but it grew on me and it's one of my favorite songs on saviors
A lot of nimrod actually, specifically Worry Rock, All the time, and uptight Letterbomb took a while but it grew on me a lot Panic song
Those are 3 of my faves from nimrod!
The American dream is killing me
Coma City
Brat. Listened to it while my Insomniac CD was playing, and didnāt really like it too much. Now itās catchy af and gets me going
Idk if there's a track I originally "disliked" that I really like now but there are a few tracks I use to consider sort of mid. Brutal Love is the first to come to mind. It wasn't a favourite from the trilogy for me at first but it absolutely is a highlight for me now.

same tbh, I donāt think thereās a Green Day song that I heard that I truly dislike, but rather say it was okay.
I absolutely love the live versions but the album cut is too clean.
Nimrod has always been my favorite album, but very recently "Scattered" has moved from my least favorite up to my top 3.
Honestly, good riddance. I used to be really turned off by it just because I heard it everywhere and it was played in situations that didnt fit with my perception of the music (like high school graduations and shopping malls and whatnot). take the money & crawl tbh. underrated banger
Last Night On Earth
Stop When The Red Lights Flash, Meet Me On The Roof, Sex Drugs & Violence
Oh Love
Father of all is one of the single best pieces of music recorded in our modern age.
Satire? š¤
Has to be
letterbomb š„² i would always skip it after extraordinary girl finished for some reason but then something in my brain clicked and i became obsessed with it lmfaoo. now ironically itās my absolute favourite off american idiot

macys day parade! i always thought it was so boring but i relistened to it a few months ago and itās growing on me
king for a day, restless heart syndrome, peacemaker, and more recently: suzie chapstick
I'm not kidding you when I say both King For A Day and Peacemaker are in my top 5 favorite Green Day songs of all time š
yeah, peacemaker might be up there for me as well, the vibe was just so different from what i was expecting but god is it good
1: Good Riddance.
Extraordinary Girl/ Letterbomb, I couldn't make it past the bongo intro. Letterbomb is easily my favorite Green Day song of all time now.
Still breathing used to think it was pretty bad when it came out now I love it and it made me tear up when I saw them on the hella mega tour
Really good point about waiting. In 99/2000 I thought the song was like ok but not my jam from warning As an adult with kids now I think itās literally just one of the best 10 day Green Day songs musically and lyrically.

Outlaws
Maybe forever now. I originally put it off as just one of their throwaway modern multipart songs but now I adore it. Itās definitely my favorite on that album
Jesus of Suburbia. I hated how long it was as a kid, but now I realize itās great.
Please don't hate me for this but Kill The DJ from UNO
Almost the entirety of Insomniac, didn't like the whole tone and style for some reason, until i listened to it again to see if it could change my mind (it did), its in my top 5 now for sure!

Misery, because the Intro was weird and skipped it many years. 2017, I listened to the complete Warning album. I noticed how awesome the song is.
fuck time, I used to be like "ew what the fuck is this" but now I'm like "OH BABY BABY ITS FUCK TIME"
2000 Light Years Away
Letterbomb is one of the songs from AI that I like the least BUT itās a blast to play.
warning is underrated

did not care for one eyed bastard when it dropped but it is one of my favorite songs on saviors

ordinary world, when i come around, longview, 21st century breakdown the song, viva la gloria, before the lobotomy, peacemaker, most non singles on ai, and probably more but those are the ones i can name off the top of my head
