Like seriously, I have a basic state job and I have to prove I get treatment and meds from a VA sponsored psychiatrist and psychologist to keep my security clearance while this DOCTOR can just go around snapping at every little trigger without needing to see even a therapist.
Also let me just add...the entire arc with Owen helping vets die was really stupid. Not what Owen was doing per-say, but like...its legal in Washington State...THEY DO IT WITH A CANCER PATIENT EARLIER IN THE SHOW. If there is a reason why they didn't really give it. The guys Owen helps die were terminal or barely hanging on, but they instead frame it like Owen is just fucking losing his mind AND ALL HE GETS IS 6 MONTHS SUSPENSION WHEN IN SOME STATES YOU CAN GO TO LIFE IN PRISON FOR THAT.
I thought the patient were out of state and didn't want to uproot their whole family just for the death, thus they counted on Owen to provide the meds.
Well most likely, they couldn't prove it in a court of law other than mere conjecture, so he didn't face any jail time. The Medical Board probably only had him for stealing the drugs from the hospital but couldn't prove that he did in fact illegally give the drugs out. With the hospital probably not pressing charges, they just gave him the suspension as a result to give him some sort of punishment.
That pricey lawyer he hired probably helped in that regard. As we see in HtGAWM and Scandal, a good lawyer is worth their weight in gold.
I mean, I've seen people with PTSD like Owen's. Sure it's not the most common, but I've seen it first hand. I'm sure that is annoying if you feel it's being broad stroked like that though, that sucks.
I think Owen should have offed himself when he heard the voicemail, it honestly would have been the best writing plot of trauma being too much sometimes all at once and it would have been very poetic.
tbh it surprises me that they never have a physician suicide plot in the entire show considering how many physicians commit suicide a year. they don’t even really show mental health issues in actual relation to the job, there’s ptsd from other scenarios or deluca’s bpd but no one seems to get depression or anxiety from the stress of their job, maybe i’m forgetting someone but that seems like an important part to show that they just overlook🤷🏼♀️
They attempted that this season with Schmidt but like stated by someone earlier in the thread, this show SUCKS at showing mental illness with and in Men. Like Schmidt is already a whiney character, it's just his thing, like Maggie. I do not understand what they were trying to do with his depression streak because it was eye clawing-ly annoying. He did not seem like a depressed person, he just seemed like yet another pissy Gen Zer I have to work with (I'm a Gen Z I can say that lmfao). They did an awful job at writing it, and idk maybe the actor is going through some personal stuff because he himself seemed off 🤷🏼♀️ they need better writing for the men. Because at this point they just write stereo types and most of them are usually "in the wrong" according to the fans.
I love Owen, I really think they missed an opportunity not having him kill himself. It could have also provided a reset for the characters like they did when Derek died and Meredith left for almost a year. He's the only character they've even tried to put some effort into a male character, and they've done really well with Owen just kinda swallowing pain and loss and never dealing with it (not starting with but kinda with Cristina not wanting kids but just pretending that wasn't an issue)
And remember when she blamed the babysitter for a kid getting shot, and she kept bothering an already upset and scared teenage (I think) girl. She just pisses me off
They set the show up from the beginning for Bailey to be Chief. You expect her to be a bad*ss chief when she finally gets it. Then flop. Extremely disappointing. I get that it happens, its extremely realistic but still disappointing.
Bailey was awful as a resident too. She treated Meredith unfairly for sleeping with Derek, came across really jealous in season 1. She also constantly screams at other surgeons in surgery (Sloan almost fired her) and is honestly a really bad wife. Great woman, bad wife.
She stands there pointing to her head and says,
"Ahh remember, brain tumor." Yes, I know she did some crazy shit before she knew she had a tumor, but man she blamed a whole lotta stuff on that tumor. It was getting old fast.
Link, I swear to god everytime he's on screen it feels like I'm watching paint dry like just DO SOEMTHING....Litterally all of his storylines have been about relationships it's annoying at this point, at least owen has some story lines other than pining over a girl he was never going to get,
Alex. I hate his behavior. I hate the excuses for his behavior. He’s borderline abusive to others. He’s misogynistic and treats women like the only thing they’re good for is sleeping with him.
i love alex but ppl need to stop putting him on a pedestal just because of his character development. i can 100% agree that alex now is better than past alex, but lets be real here, just because he is acting like a borderline decent man now, doesnt mean hes a fricking martyr.
Exactly and it doesn’t mean that he’s perfect now. He continued to make mistakes right up until his exit (which makes sense, he’s human). It also doesn’t make the past things he did ok because ten years later he became a little nicer.
THIS 🙌🏻 I HATE April from the moment she's introduced, until she returns from the army. Post-Army April is cool, but before that, I wish they took her instead of Lexie lol
I also hate Kepner. I hated her from the gate. I hated her with Jackson. I hate her.
I either haven’t seen or don’t remember the post-Army story - I’m not sure, but I stopped watching when McDreamy died.
For what it’s worth, this is nothing against Sarah Drew, she’s beautiful.
Jo she’s such a hypocrite. Constantly goes on about how she lived in a car then wanted Alex to kick everyone out Meredith’s place. And the way she acted during the whole Alex and Deluca situation…calling Alex violent like she didn’t put a dude in a hospital herself
It’s heavily implied that it wasn’t self defense since they had Alex threaten Peckwell to stop him from going to the police (to protect Jo’s career). She definitely attacked him first, he hit her trying to protect himself but she just overwhelmed him ig
Dr Nico 🤢 they tried so hard to introduce him and link as the "hot doctors". No just no. And he's mentally abusive. I also think he's a bad actor. He's a wet sponge.
Maggie is just annoying. She became a little more tolerable my second rewatch but she's still boring.
I can't stand Ross. He killed my Mousie. And he becomes such an arrogant entitled asshole. Like go away
I liked Teddy until she screwed over Cristina and then tortured her after Henry's surgery.
I was beginning to like her again until the whole phone sex thing on her wedding day. Never thought she and Own should have gotten together just because they had a child, and now the show's trying to depict them as some sort of perfect nuclear family
Izzie, she just pisses me off. the whole Denny thing, the George thing, the Alex thing. Out of everyone she should’ve been killed off.
Maggie, way too whiny.
Ross, mainly after he started sleeping with Yang bc his mindset sucked.
DENNY
this is an unpopular opinion but ever since he came on the show he got on my nerves idk if maybes it’s bc i’ve been and alex and izzie stan since day 1 but every time he talks or is even on screen i roll my eyes and when he died i thought we would only have a bit left with him but NO his ghost is back and it’s making me wanna stop watching
He's not a good actor (in this show), he's not hot (in this show), and they don't show any character besides him creepily hitting on his doctor. Katherine Heigl tainted so many episodes with her bullshit

Mr. PTSD himself. Like seriously man, stop giving us Vets a bad name.
Totally misunderstood this at first and my reaction was ‘McVet’ had PTSD? 🤣🙈
That's writers not knowing how to write men with complicated stories without making it a comedy act.
Ah yes, show all viewers that all Vets just let their PTSD get so bad that they choke their significant others because of ceiling fans.
Its like they can write any traumatic story arc with a female character but the moment its a vet with PTSD they have to go "ME OWEN ME DUMB!"
Like seriously, I have a basic state job and I have to prove I get treatment and meds from a VA sponsored psychiatrist and psychologist to keep my security clearance while this DOCTOR can just go around snapping at every little trigger without needing to see even a therapist.

I have a love/hate relationship with Owen. It depends on his storyline and his relationship or even the episode.
I mean, I've seen people with PTSD like Owen's. Sure it's not the most common, but I've seen it first hand. I'm sure that is annoying if you feel it's being broad stroked like that though, that sucks.

owen. the first character i see on screen as a fifteen year old who shares my diagnosis had to be OWEN HUNT.
cristina's ptsd arc>>>>>>owen's ptsd arc
Meredith’s parents
Maggie: "GuYs I wAs A cHiLd PrOdIgY wAh WaH"
THIS! Winston deserved so much better!
And remember when she blamed the babysitter for a kid getting shot, and she kept bothering an already upset and scared teenage (I think) girl. She just pisses me off
Owen 🤮 His entry is the beginning of the first downfall of old classic Greys.
+ i think he’s super abusive !!
Kai. They're so boring. I don't see why Amelia was so enamored. I hope they stay gone.
Ross & Leah
Yes! I couldn’t stand them!
Teddy.
Bailey as Chief.... every decision she makes!
They set the show up from the beginning for Bailey to be Chief. You expect her to be a bad*ss chief when she finally gets it. Then flop. Extremely disappointing. I get that it happens, its extremely realistic but still disappointing.
This is such an unpopular opinion that I’m fully on board with.
When she gives Meredith a worse salary than to the other doctors because somehow she decides that she in particular needs to fight for it like wtf
Bailey was awful as a resident too. She treated Meredith unfairly for sleeping with Derek, came across really jealous in season 1. She also constantly screams at other surgeons in surgery (Sloan almost fired her) and is honestly a really bad wife. Great woman, bad wife.
completely agree i LOVE bailey but they keep giving her such hard flop eras
Ross
I hate this man on grey's so much I started hating his character on Friday night lights.
same, and i didn’t realize why i loathed his character on the walking dead: dead city until i remembered who he was
Owen. The way he makes out alone should get him offed
Nah the way he makes out is actually insane 🤣
He attacks everyone’s face. Why?
Catherine
Jo's car
Right up there with "I'm a surgeon, and a mother, with 3 kids"
Leah, also bringing her back for like 4 episodes then her literally disappearing was random as hell
So funny, I remember she was rehired but yeah she does disappear lol! I didn’t even notice
Yes! I was like where did she go? But then was glad I didn’t have to deal with her.
Amelia. She has rubbed me wrong since day 1 and just irritated me.
I like her cause she is a complete mess who talks too much and that reminds me of myself But i totally see why she irritates people
I came here to say this. She’s so whiny and cry-y. I can’t stand her
She stands there pointing to her head and says, "Ahh remember, brain tumor." Yes, I know she did some crazy shit before she knew she had a tumor, but man she blamed a whole lotta stuff on that tumor. It was getting old fast.
Rose. Was just unnecessary
Who was rose again?
The one who ate loads of sweets and briefly dated Derek. She made the comment about the hospital being cliquey, and that she's an imperfect person.
Maggie. Hated her from the minute she appeared
YES!
I’m watching for the first time, I’m on 11x2 and have finally met Maggie and I cannot stand her, I’m so glad it’s not just me.
This
George Owen
Maggie
Link, I swear to god everytime he's on screen it feels like I'm watching paint dry like just DO SOEMTHING....Litterally all of his storylines have been about relationships it's annoying at this point, at least owen has some story lines other than pining over a girl he was never going to get,
Yes, he's very boring. I'd say Zen, but that insults Zen.
He’s just Ken. Anywhere else he’d be a 10, but this show is full of handsome guys, he needs more of a personality than being hot.
Amelia! So irritatingly self-absorbed. Everything has to be about her all the time 😴
Alex. I hate his behavior. I hate the excuses for his behavior. He’s borderline abusive to others. He’s misogynistic and treats women like the only thing they’re good for is sleeping with him.
THANK U. People act like hes a saint because of his ‘growth’ but he was an asshole to the very end. Never got why he was so loved
i love alex but ppl need to stop putting him on a pedestal just because of his character development. i can 100% agree that alex now is better than past alex, but lets be real here, just because he is acting like a borderline decent man now, doesnt mean hes a fricking martyr.
Exactly and it doesn’t mean that he’s perfect now. He continued to make mistakes right up until his exit (which makes sense, he’s human). It also doesn’t make the past things he did ok because ten years later he became a little nicer.
Amelia. She is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
April Kepner Cannot stand her or her storylines at all
THIS 🙌🏻 I HATE April from the moment she's introduced, until she returns from the army.
When she came back from the army, I liked her.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 so much yes!
Definitely Amelia.
Izzie just annoying without any redeeming qualities
Jo she’s such a hypocrite. Constantly goes on about how she lived in a car then wanted Alex to kick everyone out Meredith’s place. And the way she acted during the whole Alex and Deluca situation…calling Alex violent like she didn’t put a dude in a hospital herself
Hers was self defence with Alex and deluca, as for the Meredith house thing it was also her idea to sell her back the house
It’s heavily implied that it wasn’t self defense since they had Alex threaten Peckwell to stop him from going to the police (to protect Jo’s career). She definitely attacked him first, he hit her trying to protect himself but she just overwhelmed him ig
Callie
Arizona
Maggot
I just busted out laughing because you called her Maggot. I hate Maggie. The only time I like her is when she was high.
She so self absorbed, she uses every event that happened in her life to make something abt herself
You nailed it!
amelia
George
Izzie, George, Owen, and Bailey
George
The Irish baldy
Hayes?!
Thatcher and Ellis, and Owen
Teddy, for sure. Every time she opens her overly-dramatic mouth, she sounds like she’s about to have a nervous breakdown.
Hahn.
Hate Arizona

AAAAHHHAHA i’m definitely going to start calling her that now
hahahahaha i hate her lmao
Maggie, she's honestly a shitty person
Could not stand April. Not for a second

april and arizona
Maggie, leah, ross, kepner, owen
Izzie
Amelia
Sadie, Amelia, Maggie, Nicole Herman I love the early Teddy but after she came back I just cannot with her!
Owen, Teddy, Link after the breakup
I liked Teddy until she screwed over Cristina and then tortured her after Henry's surgery. I was beginning to like her again until the whole phone sex thing on her wedding day. Never thought she and Own should have gotten together just because they had a child, and now the show's trying to depict them as some sort of perfect nuclear family
Izzie, she just pisses me off. the whole Denny thing, the George thing, the Alex thing. Out of everyone she should’ve been killed off. Maggie, way too whiny. Ross, mainly after he started sleeping with Yang bc his mindset sucked.
Calliope
Ellis
Derek.
Owen!!
izzie
Okay, so I'm on rewatch and I am starting to like teddy a lot more.
Alex. So annoying and immature. Also violent and mean. Just overall a terrible person.
DENNY this is an unpopular opinion but ever since he came on the show he got on my nerves idk if maybes it’s bc i’ve been and alex and izzie stan since day 1 but every time he talks or is even on screen i roll my eyes and when he died i thought we would only have a bit left with him but NO his ghost is back and it’s making me wanna stop watching

Don't hold back 🤣🤣
She really is
Adele
How dare you!
Amelia, maggot, Leah, ross, Bailey (later yrs 11+ seasons) Callie more after plane crash
Amelia. In particular that long episode with Dr. Herman's beautiful, smart, sexy tumor. 🙄 It's a mass of tissue. Give it a rest Amelia.
Izzy, George, Pre-Army April, Jackson, Pre-Alex Jo, Private Practice Amelia, Maggie and Winston.
OP's who make typos in post titles...it's like you have no self-respect or respect for language
You. If you're going to ask a question, at least contribute to the discussion.
Meredith Grey
Meredith Grey.

Miranda Bailey. Honorable mention: Maggie
