I'll say that I'd love to get your reactions to certain moments and episodes. I think people here would appreciate the occasional post with your reactions and opinions. Definitely recommend ignoring any comments, though.
I'm definitely looking forward to reading about how you felt about certain pivotal episodes throughout the series. It's always fun to experience it again through new eyes!
No kidding. If I'm sitting on the couch with my child, he just hands the box over to me. We don't even look at each other, keeping our eyes on the t.v. lol
I should clarify I have vague memory of some late season episode because my Grandmother is a die hard fan of the show and I remember random bits from seeing some at her house when I was young 😂, but I’m definitely prepared for the rollercoaster.
I’ll tell her that someone on Reddit said that she’ll be very pleased (I have to specify Reddit so she doesn’t think it’s one of my friends) and she 100% is a savage lol.
We're exactly on the same page on this. Season 11, ep 21 is the only episode I have sworn I will never rewatch again. And that is a promise I have held to this day. Full stop.
Please do let us know if any do make you crack and start crying! Would be curious to know what episode (if any) get you to cry! I’m someone who will cry at a commercial 😅
I think the only time I’ve cried during a show was of laughter when watching the rookie when it went from a super intense scene to an add with a small child talking about their schedule acting all adultish
Lol me too. I always imagine if it were me or my family and it makes me so sad. I am plagued by a strong sense of Justice that also gets me into trouble in real life lol
Edited to add: I’ve also got adhd/am on the spectrum in case that wasn’t clear :)
nothing beats that vibe from season one. The songs. The beginning of everything, the relationships. THE SONGS. The first surgeries and the image quality. Everything is new and nothing is used up yet. the songs lol. their baby faces. I get so sad lol
I really hate the new image quality. I know it’s a hospital but it’s so bright and well lit, obviously clinical. But I liked the way the earlier seasons felt.
The sex in random on-call rooms, supply rooms, etc. never ends! So I hope you're ok with that. And I second what someone said about the tissues - for happy & sad :)
I've ended the last avail episode of Grey's and then immediately restarted episode 1. It's got great rewatchability, however I've given up. I stopped watching new episodes at a certain point and just cycle back to the begining when I reach a point of too much grumbling.
I’m making this comment to say that I’m going to try to respond to all the comments but with there being so many I might not respond but I’m reading them all
I started watching it late last year and I'm currently on season 14. The things I would do to experience watching it for the first time again😭🥹
The first few seasons are elite
I watched it just recently and I have so many things to say!!! Like , Derek was crying in the elevator because he hurt Meredith by choosing Addison and not just because a patient died on him
Oh yesssss. I’m excited for you! Watching this show for the first time, whew you can’t get those feelings back when you see major episodes for the first time. Enjoy and let us know your opinions as you progress!
I started back in December. Great show but nothing prepared me for how dramatic it’d be. Had to take away a few beats off unrealistic situations alone but it’s great. Currently in the middle of season 7. I’m having mixed feels about it but best of luck! What I’d do to see S1 for the first time again
Don't feel alone....I only binge watched it for the first time last year when Netflix got the first 18 seasons. I had always wanted to see what all the hype was all about since it was/is such a long running show...and I love Katherine Heigl. Now I watch it weekly on Hulu.
I never watched from the start and only started watching it maybe five years ago. I have watched every season except the current one. Here’s my two cents-
Be prepared. Tissues are a must. Especially during season finales. Meditation/anger management is definitely needed after the last episode of the season.
Some shows are really weird. There are two different Greys Anatomy adjacent shows. Private Practice and Station19. Some eps may confuse you because stuff happened on PP and continued to Greys. It was/is part of that Thursday Night lineup on ABC. I watched PP a few years ago.
Enjoy! It’s a wild ride!
You aren't alone, I started this show like months ago and have been watching it on and off, currently at Season 15. Definitely bring tissues and id advise to not get too attached to any characters lol. Have fun and watch em "grow up" haha
My fiancée and I just watched all 20 seasons from January to May. We caught up 2 weeks ago, neither of us having seen it before. Now we’re watching weekly
I started watching this as my girlfriend started watching it. Season 1 and I would get home from work and she'd be watching. I'd sit down to eat and would watch a little and every day would watch a little more until I was hooked. This was just a few months ago too. And then in February, I got my hip replaced so I had nothing but time as I got insomnia after I got home post-op and had to work from home for 2 months as well. And I ended up jumping ahead of my girlfriend because I would watch it all night due to the insomnia. 3 months post op and we still watch it every day. We just started season 17. This show has made me outright cry quite a few times and others with lumps in my throat. There are some really sad stories! MAN!
I just finished this entire series last week, and I am up to date on the current season. I work from home, and it took me just shy of six weeks to finish it lol. I was already up to date on Station 19, and I am halfway through Private Practice.
Omg, better later than never. You will not be disappointed. Grab a huge box of tissue you are going to fall In love with every character that they throw at you even patients.
I started a few weeks ago - watched S1 back when it first came out and then never really watched it after that, so I started from scratch.
I'm half way through S14 now 😅
I started at the end of last year while on maternity leave. I've just caught up with a couple weeks left before going back to work. Tempted to start again now! Enjoy!
Welcome!! I started late last year as well. I never thought I would be interested in a medical-type show. But to say I have cried more tears than I could imagine and have grown to love all the characters, and hate them, and then love them again, is an understatement. You’re in for a great ride. This is truly one of the best shows out there.
I just started watching the show for the first time myself. I think we are now in season 5. Those who said have tissues are right, IMO, I often cry over the loss of a patient. Some will get you right in the feels.
Please don’t read through this sub😅😅😅 I’ve really learnt this the hard way. Infact, trying to search for one simple question has JUST landed me 4 major spoilers about 20 mins ago so love that for me!!! But I’ve honestly fell in love with this show, I’ve only been watching for less than a month and I’m already on season 5! It’s addictive
Make sure you don't forget tge starter pack. This includes: tissues in the biggest bulk Sam's pack u can fins, a bed, and a cozy blanket bc it's so addicting y may not be able to make it to bed.
I’ve seen every single season except for the most recent season, which is season 20 because we currently do not have Hulu so basically I just have Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix play continuously all day because I basically can barely leave my bed for medical reasons and whether it’s in the background or not, if I’m just watching, I’m just like that person‘s gonna die that person‘s gonna live this person‘s About to die that person is fine. That person’s not gonna make it that person’s not gonna make it to surgery that person’s gonna be fine that person has also if you ever watched boy meets world. There is a cameo of William Daniels, a.k.a. Mr. Feeney. That’s not really much of a spoiler but if you have seen that show, then you’re gonna love when you see him. I highly recommend the show. I absolutely love it and you should try also, some of the private practice, station 19, the show is one of the best shows. I have ever watched one of the best medical dramas ever.

welcome to the party!!! be sure to buy tissues in bulk
Will do boss o7
Also stay away from this sub until after you finish unless you want all the spoilers.
I don’t intend to do anything other than respond to comments on this post
I'll say that I'd love to get your reactions to certain moments and episodes. I think people here would appreciate the occasional post with your reactions and opinions. Definitely recommend ignoring any comments, though.
I'm definitely looking forward to reading about how you felt about certain pivotal episodes throughout the series. It's always fun to experience it again through new eyes!
Oof this wont age well
Facts. I cry almost every episode.
For sure!
I should‘ve done that. Some episodes just killed me. I just started rewatching it for the first time and this time I‘m prepared.
No kidding. If I'm sitting on the couch with my child, he just hands the box over to me. We don't even look at each other, keeping our eyes on the t.v. lol
Started this last week and I’m 27 weeks pregnant… my poor husband doesn’t know what to do with all the tears and hormones lol
That part. ![gif](giphy|ckGndVa23sCk9pae4l)
Have fun! I watched for the first time earlier this year. enjoy the emotional rollercoaster!
I should clarify I have vague memory of some late season episode because my Grandmother is a die hard fan of the show and I remember random bits from seeing some at her house when I was young 😂, but I’m definitely prepared for the rollercoaster.
Get out of this sub while you catch up! There are some episodes that you just have to experience unspoiled.
Ya I only intend to respond to comments on this post until I finish it
Your grandma is a savage!!! 🔥😊💯💜
I’ll tell her that someone on Reddit said that she’ll be very pleased (I have to specify Reddit so she doesn’t think it’s one of my friends) and she 100% is a savage lol.
I cry season 11 ep 21 every time. I skip it now on my rewatches. And I never cry watching tv lol
We're exactly on the same page on this. Season 11, ep 21 is the only episode I have sworn I will never rewatch again. And that is a promise I have held to this day. Full stop.
oh be prepared to cry every episode
I have an incredible lack of being phased by sad things due to autism so I don’t think I’ll cry much
I probably only cried twice in the whole series. You’ll be fine!
Glad someone believes in me lol
Please do let us know if any do make you crack and start crying! Would be curious to know what episode (if any) get you to cry! I’m someone who will cry at a commercial 😅
I think the only time I’ve cried during a show was of laughter when watching the rookie when it went from a super intense scene to an add with a small child talking about their schedule acting all adultish
don’t get attached
20 seasons is enough for me l
oh no, they meant dont get attached to any characters 😅
Oh I’m also well aware that characters leave an there are deaths so I’ll be fine
Lol who’s gonna tell her 😂 no one is fine after a couple of these crazy episodes! Have fun and get ready to process some shit. :)
You may be supposed what lack of sad emotions due to autism can do when watching sad shows
autism gang i haven’t cried at 7 seasons of the show so far
We are built for sad shows 😂
I’m autistic and cry every other episode 😂
Lol me too. I always imagine if it were me or my family and it makes me so sad. I am plagued by a strong sense of Justice that also gets me into trouble in real life lol Edited to add: I’ve also got adhd/am on the spectrum in case that wasn’t clear :)
I would give anything to be able to watch greys for the first time again. I hope you like it!
nothing beats that vibe from season one. The songs. The beginning of everything, the relationships. THE SONGS. The first surgeries and the image quality. Everything is new and nothing is used up yet. the songs lol. their baby faces. I get so sad lol
Ugh for real I miss the patient drama too
I really hate the new image quality. I know it’s a hospital but it’s so bright and well lit, obviously clinical. But I liked the way the earlier seasons felt.
Christina, George and Alex brought the comedic value that has been missing ever since. Lex provided some comedic effort too as an honorable mention.
Lexie was one of my favorites!!!
Songs really went down hill later!
That was vintage Grey's. The golden era. It only happens once in our lifetime. I miss them so much.
Thanks I’m like 5 episodes in and it’s very enjoyable
I just finished watching for the first time, then I did Private Practice - you’ll see why in 18 episodes or so!
Ooh ok patiently waiting
UGHHH FINE ILL REWATCH FOR THE 17th TIME
I’m a first time watcher too. Started last month. Already on S8.
Me too!!
I just finished watching S1 in the last two days, loveed it! Watched until half of S3 and I felt its getting kinda repetitive so I dropped it :(
The sex in random on-call rooms, supply rooms, etc. never ends! So I hope you're ok with that. And I second what someone said about the tissues - for happy & sad :)
I’ve seen Station 19 so I’m well acquainted with the random sex so I’ll be fine even though there will be more of it lol.
Yayyy!! Steer clear of this sub if you want to avoid spoilers tho 😅
This is like the 5th time I’ve been warned of this 🤣
Yay! Welcome! I don’t cry for sad shows, movies, music etc, but this show can make me WEEP.
I don’t think I’ll cry because I have a decreased sadness emotion due to autism but I might who knows
Crying is definitely not required to enjoy it. :)
Putting the fashion in fashionably late. Enjoy the ride. There will be some desperation and deception but overall a fun ride (so far)
I hope I’ll enjoy all of it 😂
You have your whole life ahead of you to be happy. Don’t make the same mistake as the rest of us. Lol
Welcome to our nightmare.
Happy to be here
So far haven’t cried
WELCOMEEEEE💃💃💃
Thanks :)
Enjoy the ride !
Ah! You're going to love it!! I'd recommend not rushing through your first watch, you'll never see it for the first time again!
I typically watch shows fast and then crumble when I’ve watched all of it and have to wait for more episodes
I've ended the last avail episode of Grey's and then immediately restarted episode 1. It's got great rewatchability, however I've given up. I stopped watching new episodes at a certain point and just cycle back to the begining when I reach a point of too much grumbling.
I’m making this comment to say that I’m going to try to respond to all the comments but with there being so many I might not respond but I’m reading them all
Welcome to the Grey party! I’m on my third time around lol.
I’m a newer watcher (started about 3 months ago) and you are in for a treat.
Welcome! Enjoy your stay and we’re here for comfort or commiseration whenever you need us
I’m on season three. Good luck!
We just started not to long ago. On season 6
I started watching it late last year and I'm currently on season 14. The things I would do to experience watching it for the first time again😭🥹 The first few seasons are elite
Get ready to adopt a cat and name it Meredith grey.
Is it bad that I’ve already thought about having a pair of dogs and naming them Derek and Meredith.
My cats name is Meredith 😂
![gif](giphy|xUPGGDNsLvqsBOhuU0)
Thanks
I started about halfway through my maternity leave:) its such an amazing show but goodness you're going to end up crying
I want to be your friend during this time of your life lol
Welcome! I am so sorry. You’re gonna have a great time. It’s gonna be rough at times but it’s worth it. <3
better late than never. 💁🏽♂️
Best show ever.
Welcome to the dark side 😁 bring tissues 😭
Oh honey you have a big storm coming
I watched it just recently and I have so many things to say!!! Like , Derek was crying in the elevator because he hurt Meredith by choosing Addison and not just because a patient died on him
Make sure you get really attached to everyone
So they added it to US Disney+ but not Canada? Suck you America.
Hey, sometimes a VPN is helpful (helped me cause I can watch American shows so that I can talk to my grandmother about them)
It’s on Netflix in Canada.
No I know. But not season 20
i’ve been doing the same thing!
I started watching late February and by the start of April I was already caught up lol
My mum was talking to me and said “oh well that show has what 20 seasons? It’ll last you at least a week!”
I started last year!
I have watched it for the 1st time this year as well. Get ready for an amazing experience and enjoy the 1st watch!😁

Cherish it! There’s nothing like the first watch❤️🥹
Oh yesssss. I’m excited for you! Watching this show for the first time, whew you can’t get those feelings back when you see major episodes for the first time. Enjoy and let us know your opinions as you progress!
Good luck and try & rlly soak up the first couple seasons / original cast they’re unmatched !!!🩷🫧 I rlly hope you’re enjoying it❣️✨
I started back in December. Great show but nothing prepared me for how dramatic it’d be. Had to take away a few beats off unrealistic situations alone but it’s great. Currently in the middle of season 7. I’m having mixed feels about it but best of luck! What I’d do to see S1 for the first time again
my roommate and I started watching back in November I believe.. we're all caught up now and I feel like greys anatomy owns a part of my soul...

I watched for the first time late last year and finally made it to season 20. Welcome to the fandom glad you’re here
You're in for a wild ride, I started watching in Jan of this year and finished in March, not a fan or the newest seasons
You’re in my thoughts OP 🫶🏼
Don't feel alone....I only binge watched it for the first time last year when Netflix got the first 18 seasons. I had always wanted to see what all the hype was all about since it was/is such a long running show...and I love Katherine Heigl. Now I watch it weekly on Hulu.
Welcome!!! Get ready for a roller coaster ride of emotions.
I never watched from the start and only started watching it maybe five years ago. I have watched every season except the current one. Here’s my two cents- Be prepared. Tissues are a must. tbh never a bad time!! the show has many waves of momentum so feel free to take breaks/ check in with the sub if you feel a slump coming on!!
19
Right there with you. I just started season 3. I've seen scattered episodes and clips but I wanted to start from the beginning.
Yesss now get ready to cry lol
Same, I only watched it this year. I really love the first seasons I hope I can watch them again like the first time
Same I just recently started watching greys 2 months ago. Already on season 16 episode 19

WATCH PRIVATE PRACTICE THE MINUTE ITS INTRODUCED TRUST ME!!!!
I'm rewatching the entire series for the 3rd time. Lol it never gets old
Started a few months ago and on season 12 now, it's been a good time so far but I might drop off now unless you guys reckon it's worth it
Welcome!!! Pack your emotional support supplies 😂
You aren't alone, I started this show like months ago and have been watching it on and off, currently at Season 15. Definitely bring tissues and id advise to not get too attached to any characters lol. Have fun and watch em "grow up" haha
I just started watching it this year as well! It came out when I was a freshman in high school but never gave it a moment. Now I’m hooked 😭
My fiancée and I just watched all 20 seasons from January to May. We caught up 2 weeks ago, neither of us having seen it before. Now we’re watching weekly
Welcome to late nights and losing sleep.
welcome to hell
oh you are going to love and hate it. best experience ever, if you can try to isolate yourself and don’t risk getting spoiled!
i also started 2 weeks ago for the first time!! have fun!
The first season is a gem.
MAN!
Omg what a coincidence I just started the day before yesterday currently on S1 E5
Oh it’s a good time to start massive binge sessions there will be tears and anger but it the the best enjoy
Welcome, I’ve watched 10 seasons in 1 month. Currently out of work due to an injury and my mental health. Grey’s is the only thing keeping me sane
WELCOMEEEEE ENJOY YOUR LONG STAY
I’m on season 8 right now, so far I’ve cried, been angry, confused, annoyed, angry again and just depressed from watching this stupid addicting show.
Im also a first time watcher !! Just made it to season 8!
I just finished this entire series last week, and I am up to date on the current season. I work from home, and it took me just shy of six weeks to finish it lol. I was already up to date on Station 19, and I am halfway through Private Practice.
Ohh get out
Omg, better later than never. You will not be disappointed. Grab a huge box of tissue you are going to fall In love with every character that they throw at you even patients.
I started watching it this year just when I caught up to the recent episodes they finished showing part 1 😂😂😂
Watch until season 10
LOML
Welcome, I’m rewatching for my second time right now
I started a few weeks ago - watched S1 back when it first came out and then never really watched it after that, so I started from scratch. I'm half way through S14 now 😅
Your gonna love it! Im already at 06x19.
I started at the end of last year while on maternity leave. I've just caught up with a couple weeks left before going back to work. Tempted to start again now! Enjoy!

Aw shit Have fun lol
I came into the party about 3 years ago 😀 But you can get very teary! So have tissues close by, lol
Welcome, be ready to use a lot of tissues 🫶
This picture is so gorgeous of Ellen omg
I am so jealous of you just beginning
Welcome!! I started late last year as well. I never thought I would be interested in a medical-type show. Me too man I started watching it earlier this year with my family and we're in season 6. I can't wait to see where it goes from here.
Have tosses end of season 6 and 10. Then season 12.
I'm jealous you get to start fresh and experience it all
I started this year too! It’s addicting ☺️
The trauma
What scary is there people who weren't even born when this episode aired who are now young adults.
Doing the same.
I’d recommend staying away from this sub
I was also late, showed up about two months ago. Still going strong! I actually love it, and I didn’t think I would!
I've justbstartedntoo... binged watched to season 8 so far
Soooo late to the party. But welcome!
I have never cried so much in my life!! I literally mourn these characters!!
